Oriental Motor : ARD-KD & Labview driver
Hi,
I have a stepper motor (ARM69AK) and controller ARD-KD.
Does anyone have a Labview driver for this controller or sample code.
I want to use RS485 to control it.
I downloaded and installed modbus Labview Library.
thanks in advance

It sound like all you need to know how to do is send the ESC key over serial. You can use any of the suggestions in this KB (even though it says its for 6.1, it will work with any version of LabVIEW):

Oriental Motor control with labview
I am trying to control third party (Oriental Motors) stepper motor
controllers with Labview. I have managed serial communication, but command
aren't being sent. Can anyone help me?Hi Azim,
It looks like Maxon posted a driver for the DES servoamplifier here:
http://shop.maxonmotor.com/maxon/assets_external/Katalog_neu/eshop/Downloads/maxon_motor_control/4-Q...
The DES can communicate via a command voltage from a motion controller, in the NI case you would use a PCI or PXI 7340 or 7350 series motion controller, and set the drive to +-10V command input mode.
It can also communicate over Serial RS-232 or CAN. I believe the above linked driver implements serial communication, but I haven't had a chance to look at it, so I'm not positive.
See description of modes and comm interfaces here:
http://shop.maxonmotor.com/maxon/assets_external/Katalog_neu/eshop/Downloads/maxon_motor_control/4-Q...

Looking for LabView driver for Suruga-Seiki motorized stage controller model D70
I'm Looking for LabView driver for Suruga-Seiki (Japan)motorized stage controller model D70, GPIB or RS232 (optional model D92).
Hi,
Unfortunately, I was unable to locate a driver for your instrument. I would like you to submit a request for this driver at: http://zone.ni.com/idnet97.nsf/instrumentdriverrequest/ and with the instrument manufacturer. We develop drivers based on demand and popularity so the more requests we have for it, the greater the possibility that we will develop one.
If you would like to try developing your own instrument driver (or modify the existing one), we have documentation, model instrument drivers, and driver templates to help at :
http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/development.htm
We also have a syndicate of third party vendors that specialize in National Instruments' products and services. Some of the vendors specialize in driver development. I would s

http://www.ni.com/alliance
An instrument driver is a collection of functions that implement the commands necessary to perform the instruments operations. In short, someone read the instrument user manual and implemented some of the functionality in a program for the end user. Instrument drivers are not necessary to use your instrument. They are merely time savers to help you develop your project so you do not need to study the manual before writing a program.
There are example VI's in LV on Instrument Connectivity. If you go to the Help menu >> Examples.. >> I/O, you will see a couple and Examples.. >> Fundamentals for File and String manipulation. I would suggest tweaking them to suit your application. Also the specific command that your instrument responds to can be found from it's manual.

Hope this helps!

Looking for labview driver to control Tennesy Chamber
Looking for Labview driver to control Tennesy Jr Environmental Chamber
(Watlow series 942 controller) LV6.0
Email [email protected] if you can help out.
Thanks,
David. The first place to look for stuff like this is the vendor's web page--in this case www.watlow.com. How did I know this? I guessed. You can typically guess 90% of company websites...
In a couple minutes I was able to find your controller and a document on how to communicate with it. If you email me I can send it to you (it's too big to post...).
Next, reading the document (which by the way contains a good basic primer on serial communications)I saw that one of the protocols you can use for communicating with the 942 is Modbus RTU. I can also send you a set of modbus drivers.
Hope this helps in thermal testing your chips...

Intersense inertiacube labview driver
HI,
Im working on a school project and I have a problem. I am working with a 3D orientation sensor (intersense inertiacube3). I can read this sensor with the help of a joystick emulation driver. But i have some problems installing this driver on some of the test PCs. So i have to develop a labview driver. I have downloaded the intersense intertrax driver for labview but this isnt working. I tried writing a driver myself based on the api and documentation provided with the sensor. but the documentation is about C++ and I have no experience with C at all. I tried to compile the C++ code to labview by using the call library function.
I hope someone can help me, I include the documentation.
thnx in advance

Olympus BX61 LabView driver - unable to connect
I have downloaded the LabView driver for the Olympus BX61 motorized microscope but am unable to establish any communication. There is a thread on this forum from May this year discussing the same problem but it does not come to any conclusions. Did anyone actually get this driver to work?
I can control the microscope with the BX2 software from Olympus so I know that the serial port is OK. I've asked the manufacturer for the serial port settings and they gave me a few different options (7 or 8 bits etc, I thought that was a bit strange). I think I've tried all possible permutations so I think the problem must be somewhere else. I've also tried changing the end of line character. The error is reported in Visa Read, which times out.
The problem is the same as that described in the pervious thread (Error: "BFFF0015 Timeout expired before operation completed."). Hoping that the two people who had the problem did solve it and could give me the simple solution...
Thanks for any suggestions

Where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.
where can i find a Labview driver for the "8990a PEAK POWER ANALYZER" it's not on NI's site.
if there is no driver maybe you can tell me the closest instrument that comes to this one from the list at,

so i could modify and use the driverHello,
It looks like Agilent/HP makes the 8990A, but I was not able to find a driver for it that we or Agilent has written for this device.
Since I am not familiar with the 8990A, I cannot recommend which drivers might be similar, but you are pointed in the right direction. Agilent themselves might know more about which models use similar command sets so that you can modify a driver easily.
Hope this helps.

Is there any LabVIEW driver for the Agilent 53147A counter/power meter?
I am trying to find a LabVIEW driver for the Agilent 53147A counter/power meter, but I cannot find it. Is there any?
NI does not have a driver and a quick check with Agilent shows that they don't have a driver either.
You can go to http://www.ni.com/devzone/idnet/ and request a driver. You will also find links on how to create your own driver. Your other option is to use the Instrument I/O Assistant.
p.s. In the future, you should use the Instrument control board for posting questions. this board is for NI counter/timer products. -

RS232 Labview driver for SR830 lockin Amplifier
Hi,
I want to install Labview driver for Stanford Research SR830 lockin amplifier for RS232 port. NI has drivers for GPIB but I could not find any for RS 232 comm port.
Please let me know how can I find driver for RS232 port.
Regards,
NitinDear Jason S,
I also want to communicate with sr 830 with the RS232 interface. You said I had to rewrite the whole thing. What does that really mean? Rewrite the driver? If so, what language will it be?
JasonS' wrote:
Hello Nitshu-
As you mentioned, this driver only supports GPIB, and not RS-232. This driver was originally created in 1994, so it was not created using VISA. This means that to convert this driver you would need to essentially rewrite the entire thing. There are not currently any plans to update this driver to support RS-232, but you could easily communicate with it by adding a GPIB Interface to your system.
Let us know if you have any specific questions we can help answer.

Thank you for answering my question -
Can Labview 7.0 control an instrument without the labview driver?
hellow,i have an instrument which do not have the labview driver, its output signal is RS232,so can i use labview7.0 to read the signal? thanks!
You sure can. There is a popular program to check on serial hardware, the loopback.vi. It sends out a signal and reads in a signal. You can modify the vi to send a signal to whatever you need to or receive a signal from whatever you want to. So if you just have an output signal to read in you can modify it to just read in that output signal into a graph or anything you'd like. So you could just get rid of "serial port write.vi" or that entire sequence if you wanted to. I hope that helps.
