Orientation changes while Printing book/ cards
When I make a card and write titles and other details on the front..and thereafter put it up for printing, I find that the titles and comments change their orientation (landscape/ portrait) while the photographs retain their orientation.
This completely makes the page unprintable.. Can someone help

Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that's located in your User/Library/Preferences folder. Also empty the iPhoto folder that's in the User/Library/Caches folder. Launch iPhoto and try again.
Are you printing the card yourself? If so and you have a 3rd party editor that can do layers you can try following Tutorial #8 to print the card. That will give you a perfect 7x5 card with no border issues.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Reader 10.0 Printing Problem - Font changing while printing
Dear all,
can anybody help me on my printing problem with Adobe Reader 10.0 ?
While printing a pdf I cannot do anything else, it is not possible to touch the mouse
because when I do this, the font is changing while printing to something like grecian.
Can somebody help me on this ?
Reader 9 did not cause this problem.

It is also triggered when the pdf has scientific notation, or a very extreme change in font and font size. E.g., text in boxes, algorithms, etc. seem to trigger the problem.
I have reinstalled my print driver (several times, latest on Sunday), and reinstalled Adobe Reader (now 10.0.1) but the problem remains.
Printer:
HP Officejet 6500 (E709n Series) wireless, now on USB.
Document properties: Most recent font conversion - yesterday:
Producer: Distiller 4.0.2 for Mac
PDF version: 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x)
Fonts: Helvetica-Neue, Type 1, Encoding: ANSI and Roman
The font is not converting into Greek. E.g. "Problem-Solving Process" became "Qspcrfm . Tpnwjoh!Qspdftt"' with the kerning overlapping characters.
The font 'conversion' has happened many, many times on a wide variety of pdf files in the past 6 months. Never had the problem before. I had downloaded new Reader, and purchased the new printer -- I do not know which change created the problem.
I will cease doing anything when I print as a temporary workaround, but that is not a good solution.
I sure hope you can figure out what the bug is. Thanks in advance. -
Clicking on File/Page Preview in Firefox 4 brings up a warning dialog "The document cannot change while Printing or in Print Preview" every time. How can I stop this from happening? It is very annoying, and it is necessary to click "OK" on this dialog twice before it will go away. Thank you.
Does it behave that way in [[Safe Mode]] ?

Orientation Problem self-printing books
I am currently experimenting with Aperture 3 with a view to using it as part of my event photography workflow. My plan is to be able to offer montage prints to my clients onsite and I was looking to use Aperture's book-printing module to provide this service. Unfortunately I have hit a snag....
I will be printing to a Mitsubishi CP3800 printer, producing 12x8" prints. I've successfully created a book template with these dimensions, but when I come to print out a page, the orientation is wrong. My preview shows the page in landscape orientation, but it insists on printing it portrait, and therefore getting it completely wrong.
I must be being thick, as I cannot seem to locate any way of changing the orientation at print-time. What am I doing wrong?
SimonI too am evaluating A3 and ran into a similar problem while trying to print A7 (7x10) in Landscape. Through trial and error I found a way to get the desired results. I first set the orientation to Portrait, set a custom size (10x7 in my case), set the orientation back to Landscape, etc. and printed.

Date format changed while printing invoice

Since yestardayin production server the date format of invoice is like 12.02.2010,but form morning it is comming like 2010.02.12.
I have checked in quality and it is still comming like 12.02.2010.
Could you please tell me why is it comming?

1 Check the user profile for default type od date value in production system and compare it with quality. If this is not as per the quality system then change it.
2 if both system quality and production both have same date format then you have to debug and find out the issue.

"Error while printing" error in Address Book
When I attempt to print a list of address book contacts in Address Book.app (both as a PDF or to a printer), I receive an error message simply stating "Error while printing." I've repaired my permissions and tried deleting the preferences for Address Book. How can I fix this and print out the list?
After discovering that my problem was more general (affecting the whole system, and not just Address Book), I looked in the Printer forum here in the discussions and referred to this one:

I attempted to do as one user suggested and replace the 'libConverter.dylib' file. It did not work, and I returned the original 'libConverter.dylib' file to its folder. Magically, printing works now. Seems like it just needed to reset itself. -

I am muslim girl and I usually cover my hair and my body as well. ( in my religion no men allow to see my body uncovered ). I have created an iphoto book with my pictures without the covers. I would like to purchase the book through apple store. But I am worried if someone will see my pictures while printing the book in the lap or not (especially men) ? I have contact customer service in New Zealand to have the answer but they couldn't help me.
So my Question is:
Do you know what exactly the processes of printing the book? is it going to be automatic or someone will review my order and see it ?

Ba2olAs this is important to you I would think it very likely that at some point in the process - Quality Control, for instance - the book will be reviewed by a person. As to the sex of that person, we have no way of knowing.

Unable to change Page settings while printing
We have developed a enterprise-wide application using .Net. When the user tries to print the reports, he would like
to get control on the orientation, paper size and font size. Can anyone help me on, how to provide this option to the user
while printing reports ?

I have Mavericks on my iMac and the latest version of iPhoto 9.5.1 (902.17) but no book, card, calendar, album, slideshow, print and order prints options under Share, which still shows Set Desktop. Any ideas please?

Change Payee name in Cheque while printing

Before post this thread i tried for solution to the below query but i couldn't get required solution.
My end user wants to change the payee name at the time of cheque printing.
he is using fbz5 for that and he never stored the payee name(required name) anywhere.
he wants to give it at the time of cheque printing.
Is it possible.. if yes can u plz anyone suggest me.

Do one thing while printing cheque from fbz5 you have a option to maintain name3 and name4 ,then from script call one custom program in that write one select query to get name3 or name4 from payr table with the input of doc no and year whatever you provide at fbz5 .
select single name3 name4 into u'r local variable from payr where VBLNR = fbz5-docno and GJAHR = FBZ5-YEAR.
then check if your variable not initial print name3 or name4 else print as it is.
this total code need write in custome routine.
or else better to ask to maintain alternative payee in xk01 .

To change the printer name while printing the invoice

Merge Address Book Cards Greyed out
Hi all,
I've got an envelope that I use every once in a while. It has a logo and return address. For the recipient address, I just go to address book, change the information in the group that I call "current envelope" then I go to pages, merge and print.
However, last time I went to do this, it added the address that I wanted from the group, plus 3 other addresses (i don't know where they came from.) When I try to merge again with the address book to refresh the data, the Merge Address Book Cards option is grey. What is going on?

I can just confirm I had it once too. I just restarted. That solved it. But I always tought that is a Win solution If I can reproduce it I try to search why it happened.
But I have an other problem with mail merge:
If I merge more then 1 address it asks me if it shall put it in a new document. If it does so it removes all the empty fields. If you merge only 1 address it merges it always in the curent document and the empty fields stay. That still would be ok but they also print with the field name on the letters. Looks like a bug to me.
Sure I could remove the fields manually... but hey? Either it should give the possibility to merge it into a new document even with 1 address and remove the empty fields or keep it in the same document with the empty fields but shouldn't print them.
I think this are the small thing they will need to sort out over time (like that there is no possiblity to choose from "recent documents" in the open/create file wizard - if you close the wizard it closes Pages too. Or that after opening Pages without the wizard and choosin from the recent documents the blank document created automatically with the start up is not closed automatically if it wasn't edit before an other file was opened (yes , even MS has some smart tricks)).

I have an HP P1102w LaserJet printer, which is terrifically fast, and I really like it. I want to print index cards (3x5) on it, though, and it won't cooperate. I'm using Microsoft Word 2003 and Windows 7. I can print cards in portrait mode, but not landscape mode. I had a great deat of difficulty with it a few months ago, but found a solution somewhere on line; now I need to do it again and I can't remember the solution. All looks fine in Print Preview, but while the cards go through, they come out blank if I try to print in landscape.

For printing 3x5 cards on your P1102w, go to printer settings, then General/Preferences and put in 5 tall, 3 wide. Then when you want to go back to regular printing, you'll have to change it again. Not exactly high-tech, but it works. -
Iphoto unexpectedly quits while uploading book
Trying to upload a photo book to apple for purchase, but once I pass the purchase page and it is uploading - it always 'unexpectedly' quits?
Any idea why?1 - does the book preview correctly? iPhoto '11: Preview a book, card, or calendar before you order or print it
2 - have you tried uploading in safe mode )be sure to preview again since fonts can change) - OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?
