Original iPhone - attempted reset all - won't turn off

Has anyone ever experienced and found a fix for an original iPhone that won't shut down after trying to reset all (from the Settings icon on the phone itself)?

Have you tried resetting the phone?
-hold the sleep/wake button and home button simultaneously until the display goes black and the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't work, try updating the phone. If the issue is malfunctioning software this may fix it.

Iphone: Screen gone black, Won't turn off, Restore has failed, 1.1.3

Hi,
I am having a problem with my iphone after upgrading to 1.1.3. The screen has gone black with a white spinning wheel(resembles a flower sort of).The wheel however is not spinning. I can see the top bar with the time, battery, and signal strength. The phone however will not turn off and restore yields an "Unknown Error (-19). Has anyone else had this problem after updating? Anyone have a fix for it or is this a job for the genius bar?

How can I turn off "Find My IPhone" when the phone won't turn off but the screen doesn't work?

My IPhone has water damage so the screen has stopped working, even though the phone is still on. I need to restore the phone to send it back to the company, however when I try to restore it on the computer, it prompts that I need to turn of "Find My IPhone" in order to restore the phone. Have you tried a soft-reset : Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should reappear and it will hopefully reboot.
If that doesn't work : If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Unfortunately on these days I'm in a country that Apple don't have any retail store here and for sake of time I prefer to fix it myself to DHL it to the nearest country to use its warranty. Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. HP 2210xi all in one printer won't turn off so I can try resetting it.

I have a error message: Remove and check cartridge. I have removed both cartridges, cleaned them and cleaned the points on the printer. I tried to turn the printer off so I can unplug the power cord and see if resetting will help. Pressing the on/off switch does not turn the printer off. I have not tried downloading firmware updates (something I've never done) and will try that if anyone thinks it will help. I've read that my next step would be to buy new cartridges, but since the printer won't turn off I'm concerned that I'll be stuck with $50 worth of ink and still need a new printer. Any help will be appreciated!!

I understand you are having a problem with the scan to email feature on your Photosmart 7520.
I would like to help you.
Try setting a manual DNS.
Here is a link, to a post by happytohelp01, that has some nice screen shots and the steps.
It is for a 7510, but the steps will be the same.
Efax 7510 still won't work after turning off/on ePrint several times
If that does not get the scan to email working, you may have to remove, then enable the web services.
This will be kind of like an uninstall/reinstall, for the scan to email and ePrint features.
If you have a custom ePrint address, it will be lost.
Not lost for six months, or a year, but forever.
Just touch the ePrint icon on the printer
Go into the settings sub menu, then scroll down and chose remove web services.
It will bring you back to the main screen, just touch the ePrint icon again, and enable the feature.
After that go to scan to email and set it up again.

My phone is doing the same thing. My computer acknowledges that I have connected my iPhone 4, however, iTunes will no longer connect or sync to my iPhone 4. I have uninstalled iTunes, Bonjour and all Apple products from my pc. I have re-installed them back on. I have reset my phone. I have emptied my temp folder. I have done everything. If my iPhone cannot update and sync with iTunes then I may as well get another phone from somewhere else. I am disappointed that I cannot resolve this issue.

I tried to update the software for my iPhone 4S, 16 GB to the most recent version (8.1?). I don't know what I was updating from, because I can't access that, but it was whatever was installed on it (I got it about a year ago, so probably 6.something).
It froze, and now won't turn off, or on, or sync with my macbook plus, which is what I have always sync'd it to. (I backed it up and sync'd it right before I tried to update the software.)
Since it originally froze almost 3 hours ago, it shows a white screen with the apple on it and a line underneath. When I try to sync with my laptop, it says it needs me to enter a passcode on the phone, which I can't enter because the screen is frozen. So I'm unable to access the iPhone portion of iTunes.
I have tried to turn it off, with no luck. I have tried rebooting my laptop and syncing, but I still get the same result.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I really wanted to wait to update the software, but I was having internet connectivity issues for the past 3 weeks, and Sprint suggested updating the phone's software.
