Original photo overwrite on lumia 920.

After doing editing and cropping of the original photo, saving the edited photo overwrite the original one. Where did my original photo gone to? Previously original photo will remained in the camera roll folder and the edited photo under the saved folder but for do not what reason after some updating, bow all my edited photos overwrite my original photos. Please help, i need my original photos back.

Hi xefu5e,
Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
If you are using the built-in photo editor of the phone, it will automatically replace the original one with the edited one. I would suggest using a third party application to edit your pictures as you get to save the original photo and the edited pics are being saved under a different album.

Hello. why can't I move photos from nokia lumia 920 to iphoto? It's possible?

If it does not work like an iPhone then you need to contact Nokia support - it is not an iPhtoo for Mac issue - iPhoto reacts to cameras and phones that look liek cameras - if your does not then you need help from the phone people

  • Lumia 920 Wireless Charging Plate...where do i get...

    Hi,
Just traded my iPhone 5 (Had every single iPhone since the Original) for the Nokia Lumia 920.
I got it from Best Buy and I must say Im really impressed with the Lumia 920.
Still learning the features on my new phone but im liking it so far.
My question is where do i sign up to get the free Wireless charger?

I believe the free wireless charger was only available from some network carriers only and not universally across the U.S. or other countries and territories. If you are unable to find a retailer of the charging plates, you can click the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page to chat online with a Nokia representative directly, who will be able to point you in the right direction.

  • Recovering deleted photo Lumia 920

So I mistakenly deleted a photo from my Nokia Lumia 920. I didn't have Sky, or anything else that could save the photo, activated. After searching for quite a long time, I've found multiple programs for photo recovering, however, there is one problem comming up every time: I can select the C: driver, but I can't select the memory card of this phone.
Is there a way to remove the memory card from the phone, to connect it to your PC for itself? or is there a way to remove the "Windows Phone"- folder, that is created under Removable devices when connected, to gain acces to the memory card as if it was a partition?
    Running windows 7.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Maybe I'm missing something but if you delete an item from any phone if it's not been previously uploaded/ saved to somewhere else why would you expect to be able to retrieve it?
My main phone is not a Windows phone and has internal storage and a removable memory card. There is probably about half a dozen options available to automatically or manually save photos from the phone to external locations. If I don't use any of them and delete a photo it's going to make very little difference whether it was originally stored to the phone or the memory card. I know there are  recovery apps but if you save anything else to the phone before running them the deleted data will probably be overwritten.
The facility to upload to SkyDrive is easy to use and works well.

You can take pictures by touching the screen only while u're using the built in camera app. Go to Settings->Applications->photos+camera and enable Tap screen to take pictures option.

  • How To Overwrite an Original Photo?

Here is my trouble: I frequently need to edit the original version of a photo in my layout so it could lead to a better looking one when printed. I chose "Edit original" from the context-menu and make the modifications in Lightroom 2.1. After that, i try to save the new version with the same name than the old one (overwrite)using "Export" to the same folder. I fail everytime as a window pops up and says: "Some export operations were not performed" and explains that "the destination... woudl replace the existing photo", although i have chosen to "Overwrite without WARNING" in the Export menu.
Any hints to overcome this problem? I don't want to rename the new version as i would imply several additional steps to overwrite the original photo.

AFAIK Lightroom is designed that way, it does not overwrite the original file. If you are exporting to the same folder where the original is you cannot select the option to overwrite. That option can be used to overwrite a previously exported copy of the original.
You can check out this site to view some very good free video tutorials on the use of Lightroom.

  • Lumia 920 unsharp photo's

I'm glad with my new phone. And it works quite properly except the camera. Although, i presume that it doesn't wortk properly. Every picture that i take does have unsharp edges. My previous phone, the one-x was way better. Is this just how good the camera is, or is there a way to make the photo's sharper?

    Hi Billy_Turf,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum.
Glad to hear that you are loving your Nokia Lumia 920.
For better photo quality, we recommed you to play around with the camera settings of the phone until you get your desired quality. The Nokia Lumia 920 captures more light than any other smartphone because of the camera design making it possible to keep the camera shutter open longer. This means lesser light is needed. Try turning off the flash or set it to automatic then compare the results if it improved.
You may also check the camera itself, make sure that nothing is blocking the lens like dust, casing or protective cover. Any obstruction will greatly affect the image quality.
It is also recommended to keep the device sotware up-to-date. You can check the availability of software updates by going to Settings > Phone Update > Check for updates.
    Hope it'll help.

  • LR is "overwriting" some of my photos with other sets of photos. Editing from original photo is still there, same file

I have gone through all of my original folders that are being "over written", none of them share the same folder, file #, etc. I tried re-importing the group of photos that have been covered up by other photos, but they show up as normal thumbnails and already shows that they are imported. A brief blurb popped saying it was overwriting or rewriting the metadata as I would click through the photo strip and watch LR overlay my original photos with other photos from another set. In the bottom photo I attached, photos of Sahalie Falls are replaced by Oregon Coast photos. The editing is obviously there from the previous photo. And for some reason LR has covered them with sideways or even upside down photos (unusual!). Many of my photos have also recently been disconnected from their folder location and have to be reconnected. I have fixed some of them but it goes back through 4 years of photos! This isn't the case for the coast vs Sahalie falls photos, though. Any ideas?

With regards to the disconnected photos, that means you did something to the photos outside of Lightroom, such as rename, move, delete the files; or on Windows it could mean your external hard drive now has a different letter. So depending on what you did, the solution may be
Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
With regards to "wrong" thumbnails, delete your preview cache. This is a folder whose name ends with Previews.LRDATA and is in the same folder as your catalog. Do not delete the .LRCAT file. You must fix the disconnected photos before this will work.
By the way, Lightroom never overwrites the photos. They remain untouched, even if at the moment they are not displaying properly.
By the way, never re-import. That's NEVER, as in don't even think about it, don't go near it, just don't do it.

  • IOS 5 overwriting original photo when saving edits

I've recently upgraded to an iPhone 4S running iOS 5 and I think I've found a bug in the Photos app. When a photo is edited and saved in the Photos app, the original photo is overwritten.
I've seen this behavior on three AT&T iPhones (a 4S and two 4s). A friend with a Verizon 4S saw the behavior intermittently - sometimes Photos offered to save the edited version as a copy of the original. I don't know anyone with a 3GS to ask about this behavior.
    Anyone else?

I found two ways to restore the original photo: one easy, one stupid.
The easy way: open the photo in iPhoto for editing. Choose the crop tool. This should make the "Revert to original" button activate. Click it to restore the original photo.
The stupid way: open the photo in the Photos app for editing. Choose the crop tool. You should see your original photo with the crop marks showing where you cropped it originally. You can recrop here, if you want. Move the crop marks so the cover the entire photo and touch the Crop button to restore the original photo and save it.
@Dave, do you have an actual "revert to original" button in the Photos app on your iPhone 4? I don't have it on my iPhone 4S. I also don't have the option to save a copy, though I've seen the screen shot in various iOS 5 reviews.

  • Lumia 920 animated GIF's

When emailing or texting from the Lumia 920, will users outside of Nokia be able to fully view animated GIF's?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Coolatta75,
I think I have found a solution for you. I have just tried this on my Lumia 920 and it works. Goto Photos then Camera Roll then open the Cinemagraph GIF and select ...
then select Save To Skydrive, and it will upload the GIF. If you are using Windows 8 (or if you don't have Windows 8, you can access SkyDrive on the web-based version), and download it and open it in Internet Explorer. It will work and play. Please remember that the recipient will always view it as a static MMS unless they have an app on their phone that can play animated GIF's, same applies to recipients who view it on their computer. I suggest sending it to their email and they can open it on their computer.
Let us know how you get on.

  • Opinion on the Lumia 920

    Hello all
about a month and a half ago, I sent my broken Lumia 800 in for repair (as it was still in warranty) after owning and using it for almost 2 years. A few days later, I received a message that told me my 800 could not be fixed, and asked me if I would accept a Lumia 920 instead. Of course I was extremely happy, and gratefully accepted the offer. I should note that I did not receive any warranty of some sort with the new phone.
We are now almost 2 months further, and I have to say I am very dissapointed.
The battery first of all was not good at all. The phone couldn't last 5 hours with minimal use, even though I keep wifi and location off at all times... the device gets incredibly hot too, basically after 2 minutes of browsing my emails.
After about 2 days of owning the device, I discovered 2 dead pixels on the screen, both on a very irritating location. I could not fix them in any way.
The phone also acts rather slowly; much slower than my previous 800.
The camera is also a problem: Sometimes the screen turns a darkish green, and I have to restart the phone to get it working properply.
These are just some of the many problems I have experienced. I just wanted to get these frustrations of my chest, because I feel like I got ripped off a little by the nokia repair team... The phone wasn't in its original packaging, but in a little plastic bag... Did anyone experience something similar?
    Thanks for reading

Clearly the 920 you received is not performing properly. In your place I would just take it back to the repair facility to have it checked out and repaired or replaced. If you wish to try some troubleshooting on your own you can start with resetting the phone from settings > about > reset my phone. This will wipe all data and settings from your phone, so please back up all you need before resetting. If the reset does not help, you can try a full complete firmware reinstall using the Software Recovery Tool on a PC. If you still have problems after that your remaining option is back to the repair centre. In any case, these methods will not fix the dead pixels. as they are a hardware fault.

  • Problems in updating Lumia 920 and installing apps

    Hi,
I have had problems with the new (approx. 1 month old) Lumia 920. In the beginning (bout 2 weeks) everything worked fine. Then started synchronization problems with MS account. I was some how able to fix these problems, even they renewed. I thought that the Black update would fix the problems, but the phone did not istalled the update. It started to download the update, but after dowloading 20-50 % of the update the download crashed with some error code. I also had problems to install some apps. App was downloaded to the phone, but duringthe installation the process crashed and reported some error. After one week of trying different kinds of tricks to get the update and installation of apps working I decided to reset the phone to original setting i.e. hard reset. The reset cycle went through fine. i was able to set the MS account and synchronization was working, got e-mail and contacts to the phone. Still the update does not work and now I can not install any apps to the phone. There are over 20 updates waiting, but always the result is the same. App is downloaded to the phone, but during installation the process crashes. I have tried different connections WiFi and mobile data and done the soft reset every now and then. Is there still something I can do myself to try the fix the problem or should I just take the phone to the Nokia Care.

    Bro
I would recommend you to check your device thoroughly by Nokia Care Technical team or get it replaced because the problems you have described, unluckily it is a defective device.

  • Lumia 920 pre & post processing of pics after Ambe...

Hey folks, im starting this thread in order to grab more attention from Nokia. As they are already aware of the yellowish tint in photos since the amber update, I wanna just add something extra. I have attached 2 sample images of pictures below. Both photos were shot at ISO3200 to really show what this phone is capable of. Each picture will come with a before processing happens and after. Not only can you tell theres a yellowish tint in the post processing pics, but you can also see severe noise reduction. Sure, ISO3200 is a bit on a smartphone, but take a close look at the pics before the processing happens and tell me that isn't a amazing picture at ISO3200. White balance is spot on, and sharpness is excellent. Im sorry, but the aggressive noise reduction Nokia applies is not needed on this phone. Nokia I think most people buy these lumia 920 and 1020 phones based on cameras. I think most people can agree that while we may not ask you to remove your noise reduction settings, but rather add an option for us users who would like to skip out on the post processing that happens. You can clearly see in the before and after pics below how amazing an ISO3200 shot from this phone is.....let us have it please!!!

  • Why my Lumia 920 takes shots in res. 720x1278 in...

why my Lumia 920 takes shots in resolution 720x1278 instead of 3553 x 2448 and I cannot find the way to change in the settings. Is it a bug?

Has nothing to do with Corporal_Hicks said, that is for auto-uploading and backup of photos that you have taken.
Are you sure you are not using the front facing camera but the back one? Try Resetting the Camera in the Settings under: Settings > Applications > Photos + Camera, and if that doesn't work, a soft reset (pressing the volume down and power buttons together at the same time until the phone vibrates).
