Original Photoshop on Floppys - cannot install now

I just upgraded to a new computer and I do not have floppy drives.  My original Photoshop 3.0 is on 3.5 floppy's.  I have upgrades for photoshop 5.5, 6.0, 7.0, CS2,..., but no way to install the original.  How do I get Photoshop installed?

No need to reinstall the full version of Photoshop 3.0 if all you want to do is re-install the latest version that you own e.g. CS4 or CS5.
All upgrade discs and downloadable files include the full program code. The serial number is what distinguishes a full version from an upgrade. So just reinstall the very latest version that you own, even if it's an upgrade version and no other Adobe software has ever been installed.
e.g. if CS5 then insert the CS5 upgrade disc or download the file.
Enter your CS5 serial number (presumably an upgrade serial) then, when prompted, enter the serial number for an earlier qualifying version, even if that's an upgrade e.g. your CS4 upgrade serial number. That's the only verification that the installer requires.
Then the CS5 install will complete.

  • Photoshop Elements 9: cannot install, files are damaged [Windows 8.1]

I tried it with both downloading the two files from Download Photoshop Elements products | 9, 8, 7 and Photoshop Elements 9 / Premiere Elements 9 Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools, neither installation worked.
When trying to install with the separate .exe file, it says that "An error occured while extracting some files, please check if there is enough space and if you are allowed to write in the folder." but there are 152GB free and I'm the admin.
When trying to unpack first and then install via the .exe inside the .7z, it says "Error in "PSE 9\Data11.cab". The file ist damaged." and so are all the other files: listed as damaged.
I downloaded the files multiple times and tried a lot: I reread all the "Very Important Instructions" on ProDesignTools and followed them strictly, did not find something in the "troubleshoot installation", downgraded Adobe Air to the version inside the .7z, set up a new user account on my computer (even though I installed Windows 8.1 only last week) , deactivated all tasks via msconfig, did a clean boot... installing failed every time.
Once, I archieved to get the .exe working and it started to install, but at one point of about 75% an error occured, that "some files are damaged" and the process made until this point was automatically cancelled, deinstalled. It only took a few minutes longer until failure.
But what else can I do? I already read in this forum that Pse9 + W8.1 worked for others. But it does not for me. So, are the files damaged?
    Thank you for any advice!

Please check if the downloads are the full size, and not somehow truncated.
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.exe : 1.16 MB = 1,199 KB = 1,227,128 bytes
    PhotoshopElements_9_LS15.7z : 1.75 GB = 1,838,906 KB = 1,883,039,681 bytes

  • I cannot install CS2 or 3 on my MacBook

    Hello,
I have an old PowerBook 1.25GHz that I had both cs2 and CS3 on, I just was given a barley used MacBook and proceeded to install CS2 first as I could not find he CS3 disk. It installed Photoshop and illustrator ok but did not install indesign. Then I found the cs3 disc so I tried to install that, everything went fine until it got to a certain point and and would not install more than acrobat and a few non essential programs. I tried everything to get it to work, finally decided to copy disc to desk top and do an install from my desktop, it would not copy, again to a certain point. I found the file I think it causing problems and did not copy it over but I cannot install now. When I click the install nothing happens.
    Any suggestions?

Same here...I just got my new iPhone 6, I can't get my iPhone to update on itself. (Thought it was an internet issue)
So I used iTunes to download the firmware, and start updaing.
It seems promising at first but then sutck on "Error 6", I think the service is down maybe?
Now my iphone can't reboot...can't retore either

Look at this similar problem in getting Netflix on an iPad 1. Same technique should work for you.

  • Cannot install my costco photoshop 12 please help.  it is now installing itself.  Will take it back tomorrow.

I have been working on installing this software for weeks now and am at the end.  The first time the organizer installed but the editor wouldn't.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and am ready to take this application back to the store.  I have a Vista machine.

It still didn't work.  I paid for Photoshop 12 at Costco.  The organizer downloaded just fine but when I tried to use the editor, the screen appeared asking for my Adobe sign on, I signed on, and then the application just churned.  I had to use task manager to stop it.  Per your instruction, I downloaded Photoshop 13 from the site, it downloaded fine and then asked for my Adobe sign on and then just churned.  I can now access Photoshop 13 organizer but still can't get editor.
This is ridiculous.  Last night I did the msconfig.exe and followed the instructions on changing the start up menu and disabling everything.
I am furious about this.  It looks like you want me to pay for Photoshop Elements 13 when I can't get 12 to work.  This is a Vista machine.

  • I have upgraded to a new computer and Windows 8.  I cannot install Photoshop 6 which was an upgrade version from Windows 5.5, 5, 5.  The original 5 will not install and without it, the Photoshop 6 has no original version to load from.

How do I install Photoshop 6 on Windows 8., when my original Windows 5 will not install?

If you were actually talking about CS5.5 and an upgrade to CS6, you only need the serial numbers from both products.  Adobe's installer will look for CS5.5 on your system and when it doesn't find it, you will be prompted to enter that qualifying product's serial number.

  • I bought Photoshop Elements 12 and I cannot install it..It says invalid serial number and says invalid Redemption Code

I bought Photoshop Elements 12 and I cannot install it..It says invalid serial number and says invalid Redemption Code when I try that way.  I need the program and because I have opened the box it can't be returned to the store.  I have over $100 tied up in this product that I can't use.  Someone said install the free trial version...Ok, I did...but it is just a 30 day trial and I want the full version of the product I paid for!! So how do I get a valid serial number?  The serial number on the box and the redemption code card both come up as invalid.  Not a very happy customer right now!!

You will need to contact Adobe Support by chat or by phone.

Cannot install latest updates for Bridge and Photoshop CC. I get the following message: "Update Failed. The download appears corrupted.  U43M1D207."
I have tried to install at different times over three different days with the same result each time. My version of Bridge now no longer shows DNG files except as an icon. The update is supposed to install Camera Raw version 9.

I had the 204 version of your error using the direct download links proved on this thread solved my problem.. hope you have same success... had to log off/in cloud manager before it showed all apps updated

Did you purchased the Full Perpetual License from Adobe for $149.00?, if so then what has happened is that you probably downloaded the Creative Cloud trial version which has now expired.
The license key for the perpetual version will not be accepted to activate the CC version.
Uninstall the existing Lightroom and then download the one available from the link below. The uninstall process will not affect your Catalog, Preferences or personal files but will just remove the application. Install the new download and you license key will be accepted.

Be sure to start your iMac using its original grey System Install DVD: Insert that disc and start your Mac while holding the d key. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen select Disk Utility and format the hard disk. Select "Mac OS X Extended (Journaled)".
    Then, install OS X.

The workaround for this problem is to revert to IE9 or earlier, install your old PSE, then reinstall the latest IE version.

I would like stay only with the 2014 version but i don´t find more the desinstaller of old CC version and the 2 versions takes a lopt of space on my disk... is it normal or is there a necessity to stay with the 2 versions... Now I use only the 2014 version but the old version is always there ????

  • Having installed an upgrade for Photoshop Elements 13, I cannot open the application. I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements Edit

Having installed an upgrade for Photoshop Elements 13, I cannot open the application. I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X".
I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but get the same error message.

Which version of OS X do you have? It's not clear from your post whether "installed an upgrade" means you just installed PSE 13 as an upgrade or you installed an update to PSE 13, like ACR 9 or 13.1. Please clarify.
