I recommend you use this with the new Titanium HD Windows 8 driver. Install the new Windows 8 driver first, change no settings, reboot. Next, install the CD. Do a custom installation, and uncheck the driver and Dolby/DTS Connect packs on the CD's menu. Reboot again and you should be good to go........
Analog and digital sound works perfectly for me under Windows 8 64 bit edition. I did install the newest Console Launcher as well under Windows 7 compatibility mode.
Creative updated its recent driver to include standalone DTS/Dolby support so you want to make sure that you do not install the older versions included on the CD ISO.
Problem solved. The uninstall worked in Safe mode.

EasyWMV full version does not want to fully download, why?
I downloaded the EasyWMVdemo,I found here on apple downloads,and it downloaded and worked fine. So I decided to spend the $15.00 to get the full version. I got the confirmation e-mail with the link for the download of the full version and proceeded to start the download,here is where i am having problems. I have tried maybe 4 or 5 times to download the full version but usually at around 1.3 to 1.6 MB of the 4.3MB download it stops and says Mounting failed. I don't even know what that means? I am using osx 10.5.1,and quicktime 7.3. I don't understand why the demo worked but the full version will not even fully download? Anybody have this problem or know the fix? The whole reason for using this program is I have videos I downloaded and quicktime will not play them. They are .avi,and .flv. and EasyWMV was supposed to be able to convert so quicktime could play. I guess what I am looking for is a way to play any videos I download using quicktime. Is there a way to do that? I really do not understand what the difference is between .wmv,.avi,.flv,etc and why quicktime will not play everything!

Adobe FlashPlayer should first be uninstalled using the appropriate uninstaller available here: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157&sliceId=2 and then the latest version obtained from here: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash and installed.

In earlier versions than QT 7.1.3 in Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
You should also ensure, if you are running Tiger 10.4.11 or Leopard, that you have downloaded and installed the correct version for your Mac of Security Update 2007-009.1.1, which also deals with the Quicktime/Flash issues you may have experienced, such as the '?'. What happened was that both Quicktime as well as Adobe FlashPlayer tried to play the Flash video at the same time. This no longer happens. (N.B. Security Update 2007-009 1.1 requires both a restart and a permission repair.)
If you get problems with viewing video on a website try moving this file to your Desktop:
Hard drive/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/QuickTime Plugin.webplugin
and then restarting Safari. If all now works, you can trash that file.
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them). However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them) to enable Java.
Lastly open Audio Midi Setup (which you will find in the Utilities Folder of your Applications Folder) and click on Audio Devices. Make sure that both Audio Input and Audio Output, under Format, are set to 44100 Hz, and that you have selected 'Built in Audio'.
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.
You should also consider having the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not. -

That is, no other customers may order the part due to Patent / Copyright reasons
Its produced, and sits on the shelf for that single customer
We understand and use Customer Material Determination, but want something preventing other customers from ordering

This can be controlled by "Listing/Exclusion" method of SD Basic Function.
Listing/Exclusion: - In this menu option, you define rules according to which material listing or material exclusion functions in sales processing. With material listing or exclusion you can control which materials can be sold to each customer. Material listing lists which materials a customer can buy. Material exclusion lists which materials a customer cannot buy.
Example: - A material listing is created for a customer. The customer can only buy the materials contained in the list. The system does not allow any materials to be entered if they are not contained in the material listing.
To configure the same go to following path;
SPRO > Sales and Distribution > Basic Functions > Listing/Exclusion - Here perform following steps as per the requirement;
- Activate listing/exclusion by sales document type
- Maintain listing/exclusion types
- Procedures for maintaining listing/exclusion
- Maintain access sequences for listing/exclusion
- Maintain allowed fields for listing/exclusion
- Maintain condition tables for listing/exclusion
Then maintain condition record for Listing/Exclusion in T-Code VB01.

Exchange & Push Mail Issues (Inbox only - not other sub-folders)
got everything to work without too many problems.. I did however run into one major problem which seems like a deal killer for me..
I have pre-existing mail sorting rules on my Exchange server.. basically I have a general INBOX with several sub-folders (let's call the CLIENT-A, CLIENT-B, CLIENT-C)..
This means the Inbox looks like:
/inbox/
/inbox/client-a/
/inbox/client-b/
/inbox/client-c/
My problem is that since the mail is being pre-sorted at the mail sever directly into the sub folders, I am not seeing the NEW mail (or related marker on Mail App icon) except when it get mail that goes in the INBOX.. only email that ends up in INBOX get PUSHed.. mail that is routed to CLIENT-A or CLIENT-B requires me to manually click on their respective folders to have Mail App PULL the mail in..
Am I missing something? Can this be resolved?

I really hope Steve can get the engineering folks to spend some cycles on this.. PUSH should aply to all folders, not just the inbox...

Exchange email only, not other info
I am on my local city council and they have an email address setup for me on their exchange server. I want to retrieve email from it but not sync my contacts or calendar events. I want to continue to do a normal sync with my work computer. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

Unfortunately it is a locked deal with the PalmOS devices using the Exchange ActiveSync services. The Exchange ActiveSync service will blocked out hotsync from accessing the Calendar/Contacts weather if you use it or not . Windows Mobile devices like our Treo Pro are able to do both with no limits, pending the security policies on your exchange server. -

Does Creative have ANY plans to release a proper non-beta X-Fi Titanium W7 driver???
I've been trying to get a straight answer out of Creative through e-mail and phone calls regarding them releasing a NON-BETA driver for the X-Fi Titanium HD PCIe card. It's been 14 months since the last driver Creative approves of and doesn't label "use at your own risk". The Beta driver was released 7 months ago and and I have seen no sign that a future FINAL driver release will be coming except for on the driver download page creative says

The attempts at getting answers always result in an automated e-mail reply saying "thank you for contacting Creative about your concerns..." blah blah... and the person on the phone explaining to me that it's being worked on and will be released once finished. I bet if I called asking when the new "quad-core audio card with expandable ram, 4x PCIe, full 7.2 channel DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD encoding/decoding" will be available, I guarantee the guy at the call center will tell me that "we can not provide information on upcoming products. information will be provided only when the product is released".
btw... no such card has ever been rumored to exist. I just used it as an example of how informed their customer support is.

Creative released the card with buggy Windows 7 drivers which were followed up 6 months later with another buggy driver... then after another 14 months of waiting for a fix, they release a "Beta" driver which said the following in its description:
Take note of the following:
THIS IS AN UNSUPPORTED BETA DRIVER. There is no technical support for this driver.
We recommend that only experienced users install this driver. Do not install this driver on a system used to perform critical tasks.
Users who are looking for stable drivers should wait for the final release. When this happens, user should install the latest Sound Blaster X-Fi Series driver available.
So...Creative. Did you guys ever think it may be a good idea to honor your word when you specifically say there is a final release coming yet never release it? Between the X-Fi Platinum and my X-Fi titanium HD, I'm starting to see a pattern here. Is how you treat your customers?
And before you try and explain how complicated and time consuming revising a driver is, I know that any such excuse is a load of BS. I say this because during the past year a few guys in the Hackintosh community were able to create their own driver which allowed the X-Fi Platinum (PCI version) to run perfectly in Mac OS X 10.5/10.6/10.7. And they did it without the source code for other operating systems.
Btw... just by chance I noticed that both the X-Fi Platinum and X-Fi Titanium HD have Beta drivers, which oddly enough happened to be released only 4 days apart. Upon further inspection (decompressing the installers) I found out that both drivers are almost identical, except for the various device ID's in various ini files and the parameters specific to PCI or PCI-express.
It seems to me that Creative is using the same driver for both the old X-Fi and the new Titanium HD. This also explains why in Device Manager, both my previous card and the new Titanium HD are listed as "Creative SB X-Fi". Could you guys have at least spent a few minutes to change the Device Description and 'Friendly Name' to Creative X-Fi Titanium HD??? -

So I assume I have an old version dotted around somewhere, but I'm not sure about how it's all loaded and such.
Now, quoting something I'd come across a few times and taking it from thinkwiki:
If you lose hardware acceleration after a driver update this can be caused by an old fglrx kernel module being loaded.
Check out /var/log/Xorg.0.log for a message like:
(WW) fglrx(0): Kernel Module version does *not* match driver.
(EE) fglrx(0): incompatible kernel module detected - HW accelerated OpenGL will not work
You can verify this yourself by looking at the version message some lines above. It should read something not matching the installed version like:
(II) fglrx(0): Kernel Module Version Information:
(II) fglrx(0): Name: fglrx
(II) fglrx(0): Version: 8.10.19
The cause for this trouble might be that there resist multiple versions of the fglrx module within the kernel module search path.
Go to /lib/modules/<your linux kernel version>/ and type # grep fglrx modules.dep.
If grep finds multiple lines you nailed down the problem. All you have to do now is to delete any versions of the module (look at the filedate) but the most current one. Then run # depmod and you are done.
Hint:
Newer versions (8.21.7) of the fglrx module seem to be installed in the extra/ subdirectory.
Older versions (8.19.10) used to be located in the kernel/drivers/char/drm/ subdirectory.
How does this apply to Arch? I only found one instance of fglrx by using that method.
Edit: Forgot to add that I've tried reinstalling a few times, it doesn't really seem to do anything. Wondering if I should attempt to install an older version or something, but I don't get why the driver numbers don't match for me. Surely others have updated their drivers too.

Despsite this, thank you, you are currently the only compiler supporting Titanium HD and I would say you this is an improvment over the vanilla packages from Creative. I appreciate the time and effort that went into this.

It seems like I cannot get GPS only to work on my ipad3 (4g version, but not on an active cell plan, and wifi off). Is there some new requirement in 7.1 or 7.1.1 to have cell and/or wifi enabled for GPS to work? I am testing with MotionX, garmin blueChart mobile, and a GPS monitoring tool. All show no signal. If I turn on cell and wifi, it says I get gps signal, but can't tell if that is from the GPS chip, or just from cell and wifi only (maybe with some gps mixed in)? Any ideas on how to get iPad working with GPS only??

Yes. tried the one ram stick, no go. I have been trying to boot off/install the windows 7 disk but am unable to get to the point where windows starts installing after its gathering information portion of the install. I can get to the disk selection screen of the install with the WD HD on SATA port 2 but then get the "cant install messages" when I try to select the Vertex 3. Yes I can see the Vertex 3 Drive as well as the WD drive at this point. some times I have to hit "scan" a couple of times. -
