You should check your iTunes songs by going to "Music", then "iTunes" and "iTunes Music". There should be a list of all the artists you have, just click on the albums to see if the songs are there.
If so, go to "File" and click "Add Folder to Library" (and add the album folder to the library)
You should think about scanning your computer for viruses (they often delete iTunes music). Malwarebytes is a good program.

this usually happens when a user moves or deletes files in the finder - a sure way to upset iTunes.
did you move or delete files in the finder ?

if you let iTunes manage your library, all your content will be in <MacintoshHD>/users/<yourname>/music/iTunes/iTunes music (or media)/music. did you look there ? tried a spotlight search ?
if the files are really gone, and have been purchased from the iTunes store, see Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store.

I can no longer play songs through itunes as get the message The song------couldnot be used becuase the original file could not be found.Would you like to locate it?
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling butdidnt help.
Any ideas?

How can I keep the file size small when I render a .mov file to video in PS entended CS4?

I haven't worked with video in Photoshop before and I am having the following issue:
I imported a .mov file into photoshop. I trimmed the file by moving the start and finish points to the relevant points on the timeline. I then cropped the image to get rid of unwanted footage on the edge of the screen. I then selected export - render video. On the panel I chose to select only "currently selected frames" as the range and I chose "Quick Time Movie" as the file type. When I check the properties of my newly rendered movie the file size has increased by several times. The file sizes are now much too large.
I know that I must need to alter some of the render settings but having tried altering many of the settings the result is always the same - a very large file size that is much bigger than my oringinal file.
If anyone can let me know how I can carry out a simple crop & trim on a .mov file and end up with a smaller more compact file after rendering the video I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Thanks very much for your message. I have downloaded that program and it's definitely handy for examining the details of the original file. You mentioned in your message about not having to recode the file - The file I'm editing is originally from a Q3 Zoom video recorder and I can use their in-built software (handyware) to trim the file - this doesn't recode the file and so the file size just reduces by the required amount. Unfortunately there is no facility to crop the file with this software - I've looked for other software that would allow cropping without having to recode the file but I haven't found anything suitable for a simple procudure like this - do you know of any software that allows you to crop a file without recoding? Thanks.

I have exclamation marks in my library by a lot of my songs when I click on it it says that the oringinal file could not be found would you like to locate it

You get exclamation marks or dead tracks because iTunes can’t find the file. This can happen for a number of reasons:
The song file or a folder in its path was renamed
The song file or the folder it is in has been moved
The song file has been deleted
The device containing the song files e.g. external drive is not accessible or the drive letter has changed.
iTunes does not do folder watching so if anything changes iTunes can't find it. So did you move/rename anything just before the problem started?

Manipulate Pdf files programmatically (class PDF edit)

I am trying to manipulate a bunch of exiting pdf files from a vb.net 2005 application.
After searching lot of hours on intenert I found that Adobe offers an SDK that helps to manipulate the pdf files
i have downloaded Acrobat Sdk 9.1 but little bit confused on the usage of it
can somebody please help me to understand how to start up with ACROBAT CORE API (class PDFedit)
how to use PDFedit class and what to use in "imports"

I kinda managed to fix it (though its not a right way to do )
step 1:
As i know wat is on the pdf file i developed a form with single page from Adobe livecycle designer
and added the textfield box wherever i need to replace text not touching any other infos and fields.
i got the inputs from the users to fill those fields.Output will be a pdf file with single page
step 2:
created a tiff file from the new pdf file using jsobject.saveas() method
step 3
added it as an watermark to desired x & y position using itextsharp
so it overwrites the oringinal file
looks like we just replaced the texts we wanted to replace

Importing Video into iMovie using Mac the Ripper

How do I import video into iMovie using Mac the Ripper? I ripped the video content onto my computer but it was not converted into a file that I can import.

I think it's trend for all users since we can get more funny from digital life. Also it's necessary sometimes for us to save our video or dvd files with other methods, i have no idea but use something like converters.To my experience, mactheripper is not what you want,maybe you can try this dvd ripper for mac.Maybe ripper is illegal, but i just get my oringinal files, and i want to do more with it, that's just it!

Oringinal song files cannot be found

I just bought a My Book external hard drive because I was running out of room on my computers hard drive and I transfered all of my music and videos over onto the My Book hard drive. I went into my iTunes preferences and changed the iTunes music folder to the folder on the My Book where all my music is. But when I try to play music in iTunes a little exclamation mark comes up beside every song and says that iTunes cannot find the original file and asks if I would like to find it. If I go through all the files and find it it will play but other wise nothing is playing. I don't know what I should do...

In other words how do I get iTunes to get my music from the external hard drive?

I moved my Backups.backupdb folder to a larger hard drive and the transfer went fine with the space taken was correct but when i open my Backups.backupdb folder and browse there is actually no folders or files, the folder shows 280gig used but empty?

So i draged my time machine Backups.backupdb folder from my external hard drive to a larger external hard drive, the folder size was 280gig and took some time to transfer and once transfered i checked the size on the larger drive and the folder size was correct 280 gig. Job done i thought but the next day (stupidly after formating my oringinal drive) checked the Backups.backupdb i see that there is actually no folders or files in the Backups.backupdb??? when transfer the file it shows the 280 gig and names the files being tranfered but i just can't find them. Any clues how i can acces these files?

That is not the proper way to do what you want. You need to use Disk Utility to clone the old backup drive to the new backup drive.
Clone using Restore Option of Disk Utility
Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
Select the destination volume from the left side list.
Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
Check the box labeled Erase destination.
Select the destination volume from the left side list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
Select the source volume from the left side list and drag it to the Source entry field.
Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
Destination means the new backup drive. Source means the old backup drive.

In LR 4: Error message "The file named X.arw is offline or missing" yet I can see the picture?

I can see the pictures even after restarting the computer, but I cannot do anything with them.
Can I transfer the missing files to something useable? It was oringinally transferred via SDHC card.

The important thing is where are the originals?

Premiere CS6 ignores preview files

I've just moved over from FCP to Premiere and I'm having some teething problems.
I have created an XDCAM HD 1080p timeline, made my film and graded it. I have then applied "Render Entire Workflow" so that I can watch the sequence without any dropped frames. The preview render files are saved in my documents folder on my machine. But after saving and reopening the project, I have to re-render the whole sequence again.
It's as if Pr can't find the preview files. The scratch disk is pointed to the right place and the files haven't been deleted.
Ha anyone got ideas on what's happening?

Update: After adding some audio to 5secs of the film, the whole film needs rendering again.

No I set the Preview files to my documents. The footage is stored on an Space server. Oringinally I had the preview files to follow the project, I had the same problem, so switched to keeping it locally.
The disk location for the Media cache is local(library/application support/adobe/common) but in a different place to the preview files. "save media cache files next to oringinals when possible" is unchecked. I'm not sure if any of this will have an effect?

AAC files changed to mp3

Hey everyone, this isn't really an issue as I'm sure the files extension changed but it's still the file I want. Anyway.
I downloaded Audacity to make 3 songs, mp3 files, louder and it worked. Once in my itunes library I created AAC versions to make them take up less space on my hard drive plus I couldn't put album art on the WAV files. Once I'd converted them I deleted the WAV files and moved the AAC files to the original location of the mp3 files and located them in the library and then synced them to my phone and all was fine and dandy.
Just now I played one of the songs and it sounded louder than originally but quieter than when I first created the AAC versions. I right clicked on the songs and opened them in a windows folder to see what they were and they are the same sizes as their AAC counterparts but are listed as mp3's.
As I said this isn't too much of an issue as what I wanted to do oringinally has worked I'm just a bit puzzled why the AAC files changed to mp3's all by themselves.

An AAC need not be a different size from an MP3. If they are the same song duration, and the AAC and MP3 both use the same CBR (e.g., 256 kbps) they will be the same size.
There is nothing in iTunes that would cause an AAC to spontaneously change to MP3. Is it possible that with all the copying and substituting, something got confused?
Also, pls note that Audacity can export an MP3, which can be added to your iTunes library. There is no need for the intermediate WAV.

Delete File From Mounted Volume

I am trying to delete the "Calendar Cache" files on both my laptop PowerBook G4 and the Mac Pro Quad that I sync my calendars with. I am using ChronoSync and the individual calendars sync fine, but there is a little house keeping needed with the cache file. They need to be deleted on both systems in order to "refresh" the views of the calendars.
So after the sync of calendars, I have the software initiating an AppleScript that deletes both. Here's the script:

I have my old 6i forms from which i runs some Pro*c programmers with the help of HOST() command ,and then that generates a normal text file as a resultant report like file name "kha10"
which i can easily open with any text client ,,,
now what i want is that, to open this file on browser like web Report on my forms 10g like report builder 10g
can anyone help me as it will be a gr8 help otherwise i would have to develop approx 100 reports.....
any solution or any technique plzz help me
