OS 10.3.9 - Finder Scripts Not Working

Greetings,
Finder scripts on my work machine (specifically, Add to File Names and Add to Folder Names) are not working. I have the Script icon in the toolbar, activate the drop-down menu, go to Finder Scripts, and click on the one I want to use, and fill out the info, but none of the highlighted file/folder names are changed when the script finishes. For what it's worth, Folder Actions are turned "On" across the system (not sure this affects Finder Scripts like these).
Also, my User Account is on the server, if that makes a difference. When I select the "Open Scripts Folder," it takes me to: Administrator's Computer/Macintosh HD/Domain/<Server Name>/Users/<User Name>/Library/Scripts. The folder at this location is empty. Turns out the scripts are actually stored at: Macintosh HD/Library/Scripts, which is the location from where the toolbar's drop-down menu appears to be accessing. Is this difference the culprit? Any solutions?
Thanks kindly for any help.

Hi,
I had a similar problem with Logic 7.0. The MT4 seemed to be ok if I reinstalled the old mt4 drivers from the emagic website and then reset the mac, but in the end, I had to do this everytime I booted up the computer.
It maybe a software related. The situation became so drastic that I ended up reinstalling panther on my mac and it all worked fine from then on. I haven't a clue why.
I've not had ever had a repeat of these issues.
Thanks,
Andy

    Hi,
    Try this ... reboot your Mac and see if double clicking works again.
    Also, you can just select the Application you like to open and hold down the Command+O to open.
    Also, did you check your setting for the mouse in system preferences.

    If the  problem persists ...
    Finder preferences may be corrupted ...
    Might be Finder preferences are corrupted ...
    Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy paste the following:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    Click Go then move the com.apple.finder.plist file to the Trash
    Then try the Finder.

  • Trackpad Scrolling and 'Find' does not work

    I'm loving it so far on my Work IBM T43 / Windows XP. I always wished for this to come out and now here it is. I can't say though that it isn't without any issues such as the ones mentioned above [Trackpad Scrolling and 'Find' does not work]. I'm still playing around with but so far so good. Anyone else coming up with these issues?
    Specifically I have to manually select 'Find' from the drop down File Menu under Edit and then once it has been activated, I can use 'Cntl + F' but then once I click on Done, nothing happens. I once again have to use it from the drop down. It's not a major thing but definitely a peave.

    I'm on an IBM T60 on XP Professional and trackpad scrolling doesn't work
    I hope this problem will be solve soon.

  • Find Command not working on non-boot drives

    When executing a find (command f) in the finder, it appears the find does not work on any non-boot drive.
    For example, in my Mac Pro (10.5.6), the find command works fine for the boot device, but when selecting another internal drive or a connected server in the resulting finder window, the find never returns any results, even if I search for a known file.
    I have checked my Spotlight preferences and nothing has been excluded in the Privacy tab. (Isn't Find different from spotlight, anyway?)
    Very confusing. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    I'm not using Leopard but on Tiger there's a bunch of buttons in the Find window to select where to search.
    Also try EasyFind application.

  • Finder does not working on Mavericks

    Dear all,
    The Finder does not working on my newly upgraded OSX Mavericks!
    Yesterday I have just upgraded my Macbook Pro (OSX Lion) to OSX Mavericks. Now the Finder does not working at all; by that, I meant the folder I had opened previously now keeps frozening. Although I have tried to "relaunch"/ "Force Quit" the Finder and Restart the computer for so many times, but the frozen window remains on the screen (the Finder is not responding), so now I couldn't do anything neither with my files nor the hard drive itself except web browsing and some applications.
    Anyone share your know-how on this please.
    Thank you very much.

    I also got this problem, I need some help right now.

  • VBA-script not working in InDesign

    Goal: To have text placed from Word formatted in the paragraph styles I like. I receive the text from other authors and they are formatted with standard Word paragraph style formatting.
    Two solutions:
    Format the text in Word (change paragraph styles) using VBA, place/import it and somehow make sure that InDesign uses the styles I already defined in InDesign, not the way that style is defined in Word. I can't figure out how to do this.
    Do the formatting in InDesign, using script. But the VBA-macro does not work in InDesign.
    How may I change the code in order to work in InDesign? The code should look for specific paragraph styles and change them or the style of the next paragraph.
    Sub stilSkifte()

    I apriciate any suggestions!

    Thank you Kasyan, but it doesn't work as I expected it to. The InDesign style are somtimes overridden, sometimes not. It seems to have something to do with wether the Word-style is based on another Word-style or not. In addition I have my InDesign styles grouped, and when InDesign upon placing a text doesn't find the style on the top level, it imports the Word-style.
    My solution:
    Change Word-styles so they are not based upon another style
    Running the VBA-code in Word
    Placing the text using "Use InDesign style definition" for paragraph and character styles conflicts.
    Editing the imported InDesign styles so that they are based upon and equals the original InDesign style in the respective group

  • [SOLVED]find command not working correctly new version of findutils...

    After upgrading my findutils from 4.2.33-1 to 4.4.0-1, it is not working the way it used to. I downgraded to the old one and it is working fine again. However, I am wondering why the newer version can't do what I want it to...
    Typically I run the following script to apply mp3gain to my music collection (albums and individual songs):
    #!/bin/bash
    echo Albums...
    find . -mindepth 3 -iname '*.mp3' -execdir mp3gain -k -a {} +
    echo Single tracks...
    find . -maxdepth 2 -iname '*.mp3' -exec mp3gain -k -r {} +
    On the old version, for the albums, the "find" function works as expected by examining the entire album before applying gain. With the new findutils version, the albums are being analysed song-by-song. I suppose since the new version of findutils, there is just a different method to do what I wanted before with -execdir. Does anyone know how to do it on the new version?

    Cool. Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up going with...
    #!/bin/bash
    echo Albums...
    for album in */*
    do
    cd "$album" > /dev/null 2>&1
    if [ $? = 0 ]
    then
    mp3gain -k -a *.mp3
    cd ..
    cd ..
    fi
    done
    echo Single tracks...
    find . -maxdepth 2 -iname '*.mp3' -exec mp3gain -k -r {} +
    exit 0

  • Script not working

    Hi - I am a coder of javascript-driven dhtml online games. The latest one I did is called "Difference" @ http://www.mah-jongg.ch/difference/difference.html and has been tested in MSIE, FF (Mac, Linux, Win), Chrome and Opera, and is working fine in all of them. Yet, not in Safari (both for Mac and Windows): The first difference can be clicked, and then the script stops working.
    Techs: The game is written in dynamic HTML, and its mechanics are based on the .innerHTML property of the "screen" object, on dynamically generated <area> tags the coords of which are stored in a three-dimensional array at the head of the script and, after a correct click, the positioning of css-formatted semi-transparent png images in order to mark the difference in question. The script can be found @ http://www.mah-jongg.ch/difference/difference.js
    Any ideas? Hints are most welcome! Thanks!
    twb

    So I still think it has something to do with the HTML dynamically generated by my script...
    maybe - but your html/js seem to work as expected with newer versions of webkit/webcore/javascriptcore, so it's possible that your code is ok & the release safari is at fault.
    Naturally you'll want it to work now, so I can only suggest checking the fixed bugs @webkit & seeing what matches up, then finding another way to get that function.

    This content editor webpart not working in sharepoint page. Once I checked out to the page then chart is working. When i checkedin function not get called. How to fix this?
    THanks in advance!

    In SharePoint 2013, sp.js and sp.runtime.js does not load on the page in published mode. You need to explicitly load these files. You can check using IE developer tools in the Script section that in published mode these files are missing.
    In order to fix this issue explictly refer these two js files on your page.
    <script type="text/javascript" src="_layouts/15/sp.runtime.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="_layouts/15/sp.js"></script>

  • Simple button script not working

    I am using AS2 and need help figuring out why this simple button script is not working:
    stop();
    buttonWS1.onRelease = function(){
                        gotoAndStop("Stage1and2_Boss",4);
    buttonWS2.onRelease = function(){
                        nextFrame();
    //end
    My buttons are the square letter-puzzles below. They are images that I converted to "symbols" (specifically, buttons). I put their names as above (buttonWS1, buttonWS2, etc.) in the "instance names" boxes.
    I have no idea what is going on. Please help!

    Hi -
    1. Yes, buttonWS2 is the instance name
    2. The only code attached to it is the code I pasted above.
    3. onRelease does not execute because my trace statement does not appear in the output
    Here is the modified code for buttonWS2:
    buttonWS2.onRelease = function(){
                        trace("clicked!");
                        nextFrame();
    Question: It shouldn't matter if I have commented-out code within that set of codes should it?:
    buttonWS2.onRelease = function(){
              //if (puzzleschosenarray[0] == 2 || puzzleschosenarray[1] == 2) {
              // cannot be chosen -- make button non-functional
              //else{
                        //puzzleschosenarray[roundnumber-1] = 2;
                        trace("clicked!");
                        nextFrame();

  • Hierarchy Node Variable search (find) option not working

    Hi Experts - I have created a hierarchy node varibale on a fixed hierarchy. When user run the report and click on hierarchy node variable selection option , A new window will pop up which has all the nodes.
    As the list is quite big and has many levels , On the same pop up , we have find option , when we enter any node in the find box , its always give a ABAP Dump , It never works for me...
