OS 10.4.7 on a G3 - doesn't detect internal modem. How to solve?
The OS X 10.4.7 was recently installed on my iMac G3. However, when I access Systems Preferences, then Network, the Internal Modem option desn't show up.
Since I would like to use the internal modem to access the internet, can anyone please help me solve this problem?

Is the modem currently plugged into a phone line? If not, perhaps not having an active phone connected to the modem makes the choice to select it unavailable. I'm not sure if Apple makes its software "that smart" but I wouldn't be surprised...
If you do have an active phone line plugged in, maybe it is a malfunction in the modem itself.
Did this iMac previously boot too Mac OS 9? If so, and a bootable System Folder is still available, a good test would be to start up in Mac OS 9 and see if the modem works. I've heard Mac OS X is sometimes flakey about using a modem.

Final Cut/computer doesn't recognize camcorder. How to solve?
The computer and Final Cut Pro 7 no longer recognize my old camcorder Sony TRV 460. It used to. I tried a new USB cable and it still doesn't work. I'm using Mac OS 10.6.8 which I've used in the past with the camera and have had no problem with it. Any ideas about how to get it to recognize the camcorder? It uses old 8mm tapes.
A USB cable will ONLY transfer stills images, if stored in the camera, not video.
With respect, you can't have used a USB cable to transfer video in the past, as that won't, and never will, work for Sony TRV-type cameras.
Get yourself a Firewire cable, and all will be good. -
IMac 24" 3.06 GHz doesn't detect internal hard drive
Hi Guys,
I'm panicking because my four month old Imac is suddenly refusing to boot up into OSX and I don't understand why.
When I switch it on, I'm faced with a flashing folder and a question mark.
This problem has come completely out of the blue as all I did was switch the machine on and suddenly, it didn't work! I could understand it if I'd been fiddling with something or installing new hardware but no...
I have tried many things on the apple help pages but all to no avail. The last thing I tried was resetting the PRAM.The start up noise is louder now but that's the only difference I can tell from performing this action.
The trouble is the hard disk doesn't seem to be recognised at all, and when I boot from the cd, I access disk utility but my hard disk is not there so it cannot be repaired!!
Also, the disk is obviously not present when I try and do a new install. How can a disk fail after four months?? Is this the reason or perhaps a loose connection?
I'm really hoping that someone can help me fix this as I have no idea what to do and I don't want to send it in, because I have sensitive financial and personal data on there which wasn't intended to be shared.
Should I perhaps open it up and attempt to see if a connection is loose?

DO NOT OPEN IT UP this will void you warranty!!!
The next step would be to bring it in for service, you are covered by warranty so I wouldn't worry and hopefully you have been keeping backups on TM. If you have when you bring it in let Apple know and they can give you instructions on how to restore all of your data. If you purchased AppleCare you are still covered by telephone support and can call them Monday morning, they might have some other tips before you bring it in.

Bootcamp doesn't detect internal drive
When i try to use Bootcamp on my MacBook Mid 2010 it asks me for external drive. But my model has an internal drive which seems not to be detected by Bootcamp. Somebody knows how to fix this?
I get it on the second window where i can check the download for the support software and the Windows 7 install. No matter what i check, it says "No USB-Drive - No USB drive is connected to the system, connect a USB drive to succeed." (translated from German)
I try to install Windows 7.
Maybe with OSX 10.9.2 its not possible to install from DVD? -
Hi everyone! I tried to install the new iOs 7 on my iphone 4, but it wasn't completed (showing error 4005). Now, my iphone is stuck on the itunes' logo with the usb cord, and I can't use my phone. And itunes doesn't detect my iphone when I connect it on my computer, so I can't put it in recovery mode or someting like that... What can I do?? I tried everything they tell me to do in the apple support but nothing seems to work. Thank you!

Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine. -

I have a Brother printer that doesn't have wifi, but I bought a Wireless Server Print to connect to it. I want the iPad can print directly to the printer without using a computer, but the iPad doesn't detect the printer. Is that possible?

The Apps usually only work with wireless printers, though if its free, there is no harm in trying, and see if it gets picked up, but its doubtful, as the print server would need to transmit in the same protocol the Brother Print App is expecting from the supported wireless printers. -
Hello, I just got an iPhone 4S and it seems that the bluetooth function in it doesn't work. I tried few times to pair it to other non Apple phones but it never worked. Does anyone has an idea how to solve the problem? Tks.
This is not a feature of iPhone, iPad or iOS.
Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone
devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the
app store and internet tethering where provided by the carrier.

Before I upgraded my iPad mini, you could turn off apps to save battery power by double clicking the control button and then holding your finger on the app button until the minus sign appeared. That doesn't work anymore. How do you turn off the apps with ios7
Now you swipe downward, the app will appear and you delete, keep scolling to the right as in the past. With the new operating system you also swipe downward to get the search bar to find an app

My MacBook Pro 13.3inch (Late 2011) doesn't detect earphones being plugged in after I installed Mountain Lion. If I reboot, it works but after a few unpluggings and more plugins, it doesn't detect them anymore until I reboot. Help please.
This may or may not fix your problem.
Try a NVRAM reset.
Try a SMC reset.
If neither work, you're just going to have to take your unit into your local Apple Store or AASP and see if you've a hardware issue.

Since I downloaded the last version of iTunes my PC doesn't detect any of my devices (ipad, ipod, iphone). Have been connecting my devices to the PC, when opening iTunes there is a legend, with the ipod saying that itunes doesnt detect the device to uninstall itunes and reinstall, have done it twice and the problem is still there. If you get to the part where it asks you to uninstall iTunes, even though you have done it before, be sure to uninstall iTunes and the other components in the order listed.
