OS 10.9.3 blocks open office update 4.1 but the update removed 4.01, help!
OS 10.9.3 blocks Open Office as the devellopers are unknown and the program is not from the app store.
by downloading and installing Open office 4.0.1 was removed so here is no returning back!???
Ctrl-click the installer, then choose 'Open' from the menu that is shown.

Next time that happens while on WiFi, turn WiFi off in settings, wait about 30 seconds or so, then turn WiFi back on. Sometimes you have to do this two or three times, but this fixes that issue as well.

Firefox 6.0 always disappears after closing. I have to search for it and it opens as though it has never been installed or used before.
An urgent stability update keeps being issued but that doesn't work either. No matter how long I leave it running, it never connects to the update centre. The hide button doesn't work which I think affirms and demonstrates it is also faulty.If you have problems with updating or with the permissions then easiest is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox program and save the DMG file to the desktop

I keep getting an alert that says I need to update an app but the update "is no longer available?"
I keep getting an alert on tge App Store icon that I have an update available. But, when I get to iTunes to update, I get a message that "the item I chose is no longer available." The item/app shows up on the updates page but I can't seem to update it or even delete it! Suggestions?
If you hold your finger on the Craiglist App, until all Apps Jiggle, do you get an X on the upper right hand corner of the app and if you touch the X, does the app not delete? If you can delete it, you can redownload it and you'd get the current version.

I’ve tried to update my i-Tunes version after the site suggested I should following my i-Pad Air being plugged into it for the first time. The update seemed successful but the program would not open at all despite switching off the PC and re-starting several times. I then tried wiping the original software from the computer and re-downloading from scratch. Each time I tried the download failed with a message saying “Service “Apple Mobile Device” failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services” At this stage, the only way forward was to “abort” the download. This I have done now four times and the same thing happens. When I did finally manage to get an i-Tunes shortcut on my desktop, the program wouldn’t open saying: “i-Tunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install i-Tunes. Error 7 (Windows error 193)” Any ideas to resolve this?

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process. -
I attempted to update iTunes yesterday. The update failed. iTunes now won't open and displays an error message that the program isn't localized and needs to be run in the English version. I'm in the US and the computer and program has never been used in another language. I tried reinstalling the full download for the new version and that failed as well. I logged out; shut down; restarted; retried the update; etc. Still no luck and the same message. Thoughts?

After getting an update from 10.6.8 many of my programs were no longer able to open. How can I undo the update or solve this problem another way?
Do you have a bootable clone from prior to the update? If so, roll back with that.
Are your apps that won't open PPC and do they need Rosetta? Do you need to activate Rosetta?
Have you considered reinstalling 10.6 from your install disc and then coming forward with the 10.6.8 Combo Updater, then doing software update and not including whatever it was you installed that caused this propblem?

I've tried turning it off and then back on as well as a hard reset. This problem predated the IOS 6.1 update and remained after the update. I assume I can bypass this by updating the apps with the phone plugged into the computer, but I'd prefer to solve the problem from the phone itself.
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)
Note: You will not lose any data.
if there is a problem before the update, then updating will not solved.
If no joy, restore from backup using iTunes.
Lastly, restore as new without the backup. -

If files already have been downloaded then remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.<br />
You can also delete active-update.xml and possibly updates.xml that stores the update history, if present.
