OS clients supported by WLC vesion 7.0.240.0

Hi,
I want to know the supported OS clients by the WLC version 7.0.240.0. I went through the release notes of this vesion but did not find anything related to supported OS clients.
Customer wants to run Windows 8 on this version. WLC model is 4402 and current image is 7.0.230.0.
If anyone know where to find the document, please guide me or send me the URL link of the document.
Thanks

Hi,
Any device that is Wi-Fi certified should be able to connect (theoritically).
Wi-Fi certified means it supports 802.11 a/b/g/n some of them or all of them and got a certification for that from Wi-Fi alliance (that should be mentioned on the client device itself it is certified or not). If some of them then it will be able to connect to the part that it is certified with. (i.e. if 802.11b certified only it then can connect with up to 11 Mbps data rate).
Your question can be re-phrased to be (what supplicants/WiAdapters are compatible with the WLC version 7.0.240.0).
The answer would be the one above.
However, the Cisco guys do a test for some types of clients to check the interoperability.
You can find the information in the release notes of 7.0.240.0 here:

  • Problem with Variable Client Support

    Hello,
I work with Labview 8.5 and Crio 9014.
I have a problem with  Variable Client Support. When I try to compile my project I have the following error:
"The Network Variable Engine and Variable Client Support must be installed on the RT target for this application to function properly..."
I have read that we have to install the Variable Client Support in Measurement and Automation by right-clicking on the software and then choosing add/remove software but I can't install the appropriate shared variable components because I can't see neither Network Variable Engine and Variable Client Support. So what can I do?
    Can somebody help me?
    Thanks

I have exactly the same problem. I wanted go through the "Getting Started with the LabVIEW RT module" and when I use wizard for generating new project I get same notification in my VI...
The Network Variable Engine and Variable Client Support must be installed on the RT target
for this application to function properly. If the Network Variable Engine is not supported on
the target (e.g. FP-2000 with <32MB of RAM), open the project and move the variable library
to My Computer in the project. Doing this will deploy the variables to localhost but
will still require that Variable Client Support be installed on the RT target.
    Could someone help please ?

Your WCS should have a higher (or not equal) version to your WLC.
I wouldn't even consider troubleshooting WCS problems if your WCS is running 5.X because WCS/WLC firmwares 5.X are very, very buggy.

  • Are VPN Clients supported in multiple context mode?

    Hi,
Recently our company has bought two Cisco ASA 5515-X firewalls for at our datacenter. I am new on configuring a Cisco ASA but sofar things are looking good. I have configured them both with HA (active/active) in multiple context mode. Currently they host two security contexts.
I want to configure VPN Client functionallity for Remote Access. As far as I know they come with two user licenses. But there is no VPN Client wizard available and I can't find a way to enable it.

    Hi,
No form of VPN Client is supported when you are using an ASA in Multiple Context mode.
The only type of VPN supported in the newer 9.x softwares is L2L VPN / Site to Site VPN
This might answer the VPN Licensing related question

  • Instant client support for oracle rac ?

My questions is does instant client support rac ?
    example : tnsnames.ora
    RAC =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = DB1-VIP)(PORT = 1521))
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = DB2-VIP)(PORT = 1521))
    (LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = RAC)
    (FAILOVER_MODE =
    (TYPE = SELECT)
    (METHOD = BASIC)
    (RETRIES = 180)
    (DELAY = 5)
    )

If you are asking if Instant Client can connect to a RAC cluster, the answer is yes. There is no functional difference between a full client and Instant Client. I hope that helps!

  • Does Instant Client support client result caching?

    Hi all,
couldn't find the answer to this question on the ic-FAQ (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/oci/ic-faq-094177.html)
Does Instant Client support client result caching?
    Kind regards, Sander.

Yes. Like any other OCI feature, Client Result Caching is supported by Instant Client.
Besides OCI documentation, here is a link to white paper on Client Result Caching and other OCI features: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/php/whatsnew/building-best-drivers-131920.pdf

  • Does the Built-in Windows FTP Client Support a Secure Connection?

I have set up Server 2008 IIS w/ FTP. I set the SSL setting to require a secure connection. However, I can't connect to the FTP server from the built-in Windows FTP client. I CAN get it to work in FileZilla after modifying my connection properties.
Does the built-in Windows FTP client support secure connections? I received a request to set this up so our internal employees can share files with external customers. Many times our customers are unable to install any kind of third party software on their
    computers.
Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi,
Based on my known, the built-in FTP client does not support secure connections.

If it does not help, you could ask in IIS forums as Meinolf Weber mentioned.

  • ASIO Multi-Client Support - Feature Request

When AA 3 opens an ASIO device, it hogs takes possession of the whole device, even though some device drivers are built for multi-client support.  Other audio applications that allow for this functionality have preference screens built in with which you can choose the individual channels that will be used by the software - if a series of channels is not in use by that one application, then another audio application can utilize the unused ports.
For example, I may choose to activate and use digital output channels 1-8 of an RME FireFace in Sonar as VSTi outputs, do a loopback in the RME TotalMix mixer, and then choose to use those same inputs to record into Reaper.  As long as I have only activated the 8 outputs in Sonar and the 8 inputs in Reaper, everything is copacetic.
One can also use the pairs of outputs and split these multi-client interfaces into two halves (or any division, really) and have quite a bit of versatility - the only caveat being that there can only be a single word-clock (sample rate) for everything.
If the developers could see fit to implement this in the next version, it would be nice.  I would like to get down to using just Reaper and AA and this recognition of multi-client capability would certainly help that cause.
    --Dean

With CoolEdit I could use the RME Digi96 soundcard together with Digicheck.
But with Au I can not. A pity...

  • Thin Client Support

I am using MAC Mini Leopard. How can I provide Thin Client Support ? Is there any version which already have the Thin Client support ?

Mac OS X does not natively provide "thin client" support except via X11 or UNIX command line. There is a third-party product that purports to provide such support:
    http://www.aquaconnect.net/
but I don't know how well it works, and their FAQ says only that it works with Mac OS X 10.4, not with Leopard. You can contact them and ask if they have, or will have soon, a version that works with Mac OS X 10.5.

  • Client exclusion of WLC

    Hi
I would like to ask that is wireless client MAC address has been assgin to Excluded Clients, does the WLC will ignore the "auth request" during the exclustion period?
    Frankie

    Configuring Client Exclusion Policies (GUI)
    Step 1
Choose Security > Wireless Protection Policies > Client Exclusion Policies to open the Client Exclusion Policies page.
    Step 2
Select any of these check boxes if you want the controller to exclude clients for the condition specified. The default value for each exclusion policy is enabled.
Excessive 802.11 Association Failures—Clients are excluded on the sixth 802.11 association attempt, after five consecutive failures.
Excessive 802.11 Authentication Failures—Clients are excluded on the sixth 802.11 authentication attempt, after five consecutive failures.
Excessive 802.1X Authentication Failures—Clients are excluded on the fourth 802.1X authentication attempt, after three consecutive failures.
IP Theft or IP Reuse—Clients are excluded if the IP address is already assigned to another device.
Excessive Web Authentication Failures—Clients are excluded on the fourth web authentication attempt, after three consecutive failures.
Issue the below command to see the time left when the client is excluded. default time is set to 60 sec.
    show exclusionlist
Information similar to the following appears:
    Dynamically Disabled Clients
MAC Address Exclusion Reason Time Remaining (in secs)
    00:40:96:b4:82:55 802.1X Failure 51

  • How many clients support access points 1602, 2602, 3602?

Hi! How many clients support access point 1602, 2602, 3602. I have found for example that the 1602 supports 32 ClientLink clients and max 128 clients, APs 2602, 3602 supports 128 ClientLink clients and max 200 clients. But is it really? And can we say for example that the AP 2602 will withstand max 200 clients?

The reason the answer varies so much, is because there are so many variables (this is also why the value ranges so much from one manufacture to the next).  When determining the answer you are looking for you need to consider the following factors and likely more:
AP model and the features it supports
single, dual, or tri radio AP
    20, 40, or 80Mhz wide channels
Device type (b/g, b/g/n, a/b/g/n, a/b/g/n/ac, spatial stream support, and channel width support)
    Security/QOS method(s) employed
    Average distance from the AP
    Obstructions between devices and radios
Number of competing radios for the same channel
    Data rates configuration
    Rogue detection/mitigation configuration
Surrounding client density not just the area of concern client density
    Noise floor levels
Application types/per user network load (is it heavy like YouTube traffic or a drone on the network like Pandora)
Network latency on the switching side - including the internet circuit
Application of per SSID, per user, and or per application rate limiting
The list continues, but I think you get the idea
I have personally seen 80 devices on a 5Ghz radio of a 3500 access point with several other access points and at least 200 other clients in the area and it was working well.  That being said I would never design to expect that many on a single radio, but I think it is better said that you can safely design for 20-30 clients per 2.4Ghz radio and 25-40 clients per 5Ghz radio.
The default statement of 20-25 per AP and similar low expectation statements concerning Cisco wireless have been around for many years.  It is now 2014.  About 65% of clients support 5Ghz, ~9% support AC (already), ~90% support some form of N, and ~0.01% support B only.  The landscape of wireless is changing fast making questions like this one have ever changing answers.
    I hope this helps :).
