  • Possible migration(Heterogeneous system copy) combination

    Dear all
    Currently we're planning to do Heterogeneous system copy
    from the following source(current system) and target.
    Source : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 8.1.7 on AIX 4.3.3
    Target : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 10.2 on Windows 2003
    For the target system, i checked the PAM in Service Marketplace
    and it seems that R/3 4.6C + Oracle 10.2 on Windows 2003 is supported.
    But i'm not sure whether this source - target combination is possible
    in Heterogeneous system copy.
    To summarize, here are 2 questions.
    1) Where can i find Heterogeneous system copy combination?
    (OS/DB combination which supports Heterogeneous system copy in R/3 4.6C)
    2) Is the above Source - Target combination is possible?
    Best Regards.
    Ahn

    > Source : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 8.1.7 on AIX 4.3.3
    > Target : R/3 4.6C + Oracle 10.2 on Windows 2003
    Yes - this is possible and supported. But keep in mind:
    - you must have a certified migration consultant doing the migration. If you do it on your own, you'll loose support for problems during the migration and for the target system --> SAP will bill help (see http://service.sap.com/osdbmigration --> FAQ)
    - 4.6c is out of general support; you may need to buy extended support to get the migration kit

  • Open Purchase order migration between systems

    Hi Folks,
    I have to migrate open purchase orders from 2 legacy systems into 1 new upgraded system. I do not want to change the PO number and therefore i have decided to set an external number range for all the Open POs.
    Now my problem is in legacy system, there are open POs with different document types, in legacy system. Is it ok if I convert all open POs as a new custom document type in new system. let me know what problems could i face if i do this.
    if not any other solution is most welcome
    thanks n advance

    Kartikey,
    ???? You are asking the wrong people.  We couldn't possibly know for sure. It sounds to me like you are already designing the conversion process when you are not yet sure about the design of the solution.
    During the sessions when you are interviewing the client, you must ask multiple questions about his business.  For one, you need to discover the existing business requirements that caused the client to use multiple document types in legacy in the first place.  This information only can come from your client.
    Once you discover his reasons (or lack of reasons), you then have to determine in your 'To-be' solution if you still will need to satisfy that same business requirement.  If you do, then you have to determine if the solution that you design will require multiple document types in SAP, or if you will instead utilize a different method to satisfy the requirement.
    Good Luck & Best Regards,

  • BOXI3.1: Error during migration -The system cannot find the path specified

    Hi,
    I'm trying to migrate my reporting server from BOXIR2 to BOXI3.1.
    I have a Java App which uses the SDK to generate reports hosted on BOE.
    I have updated the SDK and when i attempt to generate a very simple test report, i get this error:
    The system cannot find the path specified.
    com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKServerException: The system cannot find the path specified.
    ---- Error code:-2147467259 Error code name:failed

    When i stepped through the codes, it occurred at this line:
    ByteArrayInputStream aiStream = (ByteArrayInputStream)rptDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(exportOptions);
    Does anyone know the cause of the issue? Some guide on what to check will also be helpful! Thanks!

    Hi Aasavari,
    We are running BOXI3.1 SP4.
    For debugging purpose, I created a small program with your suggestion to remove exportOptions.
    My report is called "testReportName" and it is created in "CMC > Folders > testFolderName":
    IEnterpriseSession enterpriseSession;
    IInfoStore infoStore;
    IReportAppFactory rptAppFactory;
    IInfoObjects oInfoObjects;
    int reportFolderSI_ID;
    String reportFolder = "testFolderName";
    String reportName = "testReportName";
    String paramVal = "2012-01-31";
    try {
         enterpriseSession  = CrystalEnterprise.getSessionMgr().logon(boUser, boPwd, boAPSName, boAuthType);
         //Get the InfoStore service from Crystal Enterprise
         infoStore = (IInfoStore)enterpriseSession.getService("InfoStore",com.crystaldecisions.enterprise.ocaframework.ServiceNames.OCA_I_IINFO_STORE);
    } catch (SDKException e) {
         System.out.println(e.message());
    try {
         //Get the Report Application Factory service from Crystal Enterprise
         rptAppFactory = (IReportAppFactory)enterpriseSession.getService("RASReportFactory");
         String parentFolderQuery = "SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE " +
         "SI_PARENT_FOLDER=0 and SI_PROGID='CrystalEnterprise.Folder' and " +
         "SI_NAME= '"+reportFolder +"' ORDER BY SI_NAME";
         IInfoObjects parentFolderInfoObjects = infoStore.query(parentFolderQuery);
         reportFolderSI_ID = ((IInfoObject)parentFolderInfoObjects.get(0)).getID();
         // Retrieve the report by name and its reportFolder from Crystal Enterprise
         oInfoObjects = infoStore.query("Select * From CI_INFOOBJECTS Where SI_NAME='"+reportFolder+"' AND SI_PARENT_FOLDER="+reportFolderSI_ID);
         oInfoObjects = infoStore.query("Select * From CI_INFOOBJECTS Where SI_NAME='"+reportName+"' AND SI_PARENT_FOLDER='"+((IInfoObject)oInfoObjects.get(0)).getID()+"'");
         IInfoObject infoObject = (IInfoObject)oInfoObjects.get(0);
         //Open the report into a Report Document object

         connectionInfo = util.getJdbcConnectionInfo(util.getJdbcPropertyBag());
         int replaceParams = DBOptions._ignoreCurrentTableQualifiers + DBOptions._doNotVerifyDB;
         ConnectionInfos connectionInfos = rptDoc.getDatabaseController().getConnectionInfos(null);
         for (ConnectionInfo oldConnectionInfo:((Collection<ConnectionInfo>)connectionInfos))
              rptDoc.getDatabaseController().replaceConnection(oldConnectionInfo, connectionInfo, null, replaceParams);

                   else
                        rptDoc.getDataDefController().getParameterFieldController().setCurrentValue("", paramName, paramVal);
         ByteArrayInputStream aiStream = (ByteArrayInputStream)rptDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.PDF);
         rptDoc.close();
    I ran this against BOXIR2 and BOXI3.1, BOXI3.1 will still throw error at
    ByteArrayInputStream aiStream = (ByteArrayInputStream)rptDoc.getPrintOutputController().export(ReportExportFormat.PDF);
    Another question, will CI_INFOOBJECTS table be created in the DB during installation of BOXI?

  • Migration SAP-System from 32bit-server to 64bit- server

    We want to change our SAP SOLMAN EHP1-system , which running
    on LINUX SLES9 32bit ( with MAXDB 7.7 ) to a new target server with LINUX SLES10 64bit ( as well MAXDB 7.7 ).
    We have also the same OS Linux but differents releases.
    My question: Can I perform this change with the tool "homogene
    Systemcopy" or is there any other solution for this problem ??

    A Solution Manager is a combined ABAP + Java system. You can do a database copy approach but you must use sapinst to migrate the Java part (it's all included in sapinst).
    Keep in mind that your JDK changes, for 32bit Linux you must use the Sun JDK, for x86_64 you must use the IBM JDK. The migration may fail on initial attempt since the parameter for the Sun JDK are different to those for the IBM JDK. You'd then have to adapt the parameters using configtool before you can continue.
    Apart from that it should be smooth.

  • Essbase migration from system 7.x to 11.x system

    Hi,
    Please i need help !
    I want to migrate the essbase applications from 7.x system to 11.x system not by using the wizard.
    Just i want to do it using the batch script in windows environment.
    Please send the script with one example.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    If you want to batch it up then you will can use Maxl to create the v11 app / db.
    If you have security/filters you want to export then it is possible with maxl though you will have to play around with the format. All the maxl statements are available in the [tech ref|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12825_01/epm.111/esb_techref/launch.htm] so have a read. If that is too much of struggle then you could have a look at using the [advanced security manager|http://www.appliedolap.com/free-tools/advanced-security-manager] tool as that may help.
    You will also be able to export / import the data using Maxl.
    As for the database objects (otl,csc,rep,rul..) you can use windows command line to copy them.
    I am not going to provide the script to do it as with a little reading of the tech ref you should be able to develop a script yourself, if you get stuck then there always help here to guide you on your way.
    Cheers

  • Migrating  Solaris Systems to new servers.

    OK here is the secnario, we have currently purchased two shiny new sun t5220 servers for out NW7 systems.
    Our current systems run on solaris 9.
    The new Systems will be solaris 10.
    Due to this the only method i can think of to migrate the data is to do a clean install on the solaris 10 systems.
    export the database from the Solaris 9 systems, as you can't clone a solaris 9 SAP system back onto a Solaris 10 box, due to the way 'Zones' and kernel parameters are different on S10.
    Then import this database back into the new clean system on solaris 10.
    That way, all the patching, config, data etc. etc. should be on the same level.
    This will be done using the Sap standard tools available in sapinst.
    Unless anyone has any other ideas ?
    Regards
    James

    SAP Suggest to use backup/restore or R3load .
    Yes - because that´s the most uncomplicated way.
    if I want to create a trace file manually and shut down database,sap .
    copy over  data files /origfile/logs from os level to target system and recover the system and install sap.
    There´s no issue with that if you know what you´re doing
    If you don't use sap mentioned procedure  in that case SAP does not provide any support .
    If you have a problem with that copy procedure itself you will be on you own. if the target system is running already you will still get support of course because nobody asks you later, how you did the copy.

  • I want to migrate my system disk to a new, larger, SSD.

    I want to migrate my windows 7 system disk to a new, larger, SSD. My Photoshop CS5 is on the old system disk. Can I clone the old SSD to the new one and the just deactivate the CS5 install on the old SSD and activate it on the new, cloned, SSD?
    I'd like this to be as painless as possible so I was going to use Acronis. My recent experience with an apple product has convinced me that "brainless" is the new modality in software......
    Thanks,
    Grover

    I think Acronis will easily let you achieve your goal.
    Theoretically you shouldn't need to deactivate/reactivate, but I would do it anyway - just to be on the safe side.

  • How to smoothly migrate from System PG to Generic PG?

    The customer has UCCE version 8.5. He uses System PG.
    There is a need to implement EIM / WIM, but according to the documentation:
    E-Mail Manager Option, Web Collaboration Option, as well as E-Mail Interaction Manager and Web Interaction Manager (Unified EIM/WIM) are not supported with deployments that use the System PG. (http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Compatibility_Matrix_for_Unified_CCE)
    Does anyone have an idea of how is better to migrate from the System PG to Generic PG? And how to save the existing statistics in HDS database?

    Hi,
    I am afraid it's not possible.
    You can try changing the type of the PG to Generic PG, but you'll have to create two PIM types (CallManager/SoftACD and VRU), and this would, of course, generate new Peripheral ID's, and a whole new way of database records, for instance, TCD's.
