OS Maverick for Mac and Adobe CS4 compatibility and problem fixes
Is Adobe CS4 Creative Suite which includes Illustrator, Photoshop, Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Bridge, etc.
compatible with OS Maverick upgrade for Mac? I want to upgrade my Mac Book Pro.
It's not per se 100% compatible, but many people run it still. The biggest hurdle will be re-configuring your OSX so legacy apps don't bump into permission issues with user folders such as Library. Also it seems to be impossible to produce PDFs under certain conditions and CS4 apps don't recognize most modern printers.

Since I broght (in Adobe Store) Ps6 for Mac, Bridge does not open and crashes. Mini Bridge, however works fine. What should I do?

My Creative Cloud wont show the Apps, it says download Error contact support. And on the Home Menu on the creative cloud for MAC desktop it just loads and loads and never stops. Help please!!

I'm actually trying to watch some of apples clips for the ipad .... i keep gettin a " missing plug in " message ....i've tried update flip for mac , also adobe flash etc .... nothing seems to work .... any comments ... advise ...considerations ???

To disable the Real Player Browser Record functionality while maintaining the enhanced security provided by Flash Player with Protected Mode, do the following:
Launch RealPlayer
Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper-left corner of the window, and choose Preferences
Choose Download & Recording from the left-hand menu
Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browser"
Click OK -

which version of Premiere Pro are you trying to install? Also check your system compatibility for Premiere Pro CC as suggested by John. What is BDI or BDS spelled out? Jabber for Mac 9.2(1) Installation and Configuration Guide
I’m spending the day catching up on Jabber/IM&P release notes across the server/clients.
So I’m used to EDI and UDS, but we have a new acronym in the Jabber for Mac 9.2(1) Installation and Configuration Guide called BDI and BDS. However they don’t define what BDI stands for other than BDI is LDAP for non-windows
Clients and suggests it should be used for Jabber for Mac.
What is BDI or BDS spelled out? Something directory integration, but what is the B ?
Then to add to the mix they reference BDS which sounds like the old UDS (is UDS changing to BDS?)
How can Jabber get any more confusing…

To my knowledge BDI/BDS are the same thing; I'm guessing S is 'service'. UDS remains unchanged.

Well, they lost a patent infringement lawsuit and chose to change the functionality instead of pay the troll. That's not Jabber's fault. Collaboration Edge will be the way to avoid this in the near future.

I just installed the new firefox for Mac OSX 10.6.8 and when I select an image on a site (right click and copy) and paste in Photoshop 5.5, the image lightens. It does not do this in Safari.Firefox, Safari, and PhotoShop each handle embedded color profiles differently. I downloaded updates for "Office for Mac" a few days ago and it won't finish. It keeps saying I have to close Safari, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Powerpoint and I don't have any of these open. Can anybody help me?

Did you do this through one of the Office app updates, or did you download it directly from the Microsoft website?
Whichever way you tried it, I would try it the opposite way this time, although simply repeating what you did before may also work. -
Update in my Mac App Store. It is Angry Birds for Mac. Not my app and the Apple ID that it is registered to is not mine. Can't Delete it. Any ideas
You installed a hacked app, originally from the Mac App Store. It contains the receipt for a different app, downloaded using an account that you don't control. You need to identify and remove the hacked app.
Important: The app you need to remove may not be the one named in the update notice. For example, the App Store could prompt you to update "Angry Birds" or "Twitter," but the hacked app could be "Final Cut Pro." Don't make any assumptions about which app you're looking for. To find it, you must carry out a systematic search with Spotlight.
1. Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

2. In the Finder, press command-F to open a search window, or select

A sheet will drop down. In that sheet, select

3. The search window will now show all the App Store products that are installed. Compare those search results with the list of your purchases from the App Store. To see the complete list, you may need to unhide hidden purchases. If any apps were download from the App Store using other Apple ID accounts that you control, sign in to the store under each of those ID's and check the purchases.
4. At least one of the apps in the Spotlight search results is not among your purchases in the App Store. Move each such item to the Trash, after quitting it if it's running. You may be prompted for your administrator password. Empty the Trash.
5. Quit and relaunch the App Store. Test.
If you find these instructions confusing, ask for an alternative method. -

Safari. But as with any browser, speed depends on what type of internet connection have, high speed being the fastest.

Empty the cache, Reset Safari, delete WebpageIcons.db from ~/Library/Safari
A lean machine runs faster and better performance. Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.*
