OS Update .2342 keeps repeating

I'm continually being asked to install the latest OS update. I download the update on my PB, reboot, and then hours later I'm asked to install the latest update again. This is beyond bizarre
Solved!
Go to Solution.

If you deleted any of the pre-install apps/link then the Playbook will tell you that there is a new update available.
If you did as previously mentioned, for now just ignore those apps/link that you do not use

  • History got deleted after firefox update 14, keeps repeating

I updated my Firefox Browser v 13 to v 14. However, after this my history got deleted without my deleting it. So I had to manually type each letter of my favourite sites.
But this problem keeps recurring. For example, I might visit gmail.com many times to appear on my most visited list; but after some time, the history will get deleted, and once again I will have to reenter each word of my site.

  • Yosemite iTunes update 12.0.1 keeps repeating the install

Early 2008 Mac Pro running Yosemite.  Update 12.0.1 for iTunes keeps repeating.  I now have 12 instances listed as being installed.  The notification for the update continues to be displayed in the App Store.  Has anyone else had this problem.  Otherwise I will start troubleshooting.

Boot into Recovery and repair the drive.
    Do a safe boot.
Restore from backups and do a clean install of either Yosemite (and save the installer!) or Mavericks for now.
Your system use to be fine, so if you do install whatever you have on TimeMachine or cloned, make a new clone of the system to keep handy for safety net or dual boot.
Install issues with Yosemite have been seen, check Mac OS X forum, have not been over on iTunes forum which would be a good idea but it does not seem common let alone wide-spread. Obviously you want to uninstall iTunes completely so there is no remnant.

  • Updating Firefox 4.0 to 5.0 downloaded from Mozilla Firefox Add-Ons keeps repeating duplicate downloads...

Firefox 5.0 upgrade from Mozilla downloads keeps repeating???

I've since updated manually to 4.0.1, but haven't yet tried the full uninstall version, because I have to export plenty of settings first (and/or manually copy them). Also means I'd have to start from scratch with many customizations in No Script.
That said, I'll try the 'Safe Mode' option tonight, thank you :-)!
If I have to uninstall the whole shebang, I'd be more tempted to go back to 3.6.x until a few more of 4's teething problems (e.g. the messy print dialogues, particularly preview, which regularly doesn't even work) have been tackled.
Thanks-1M! for now - keep you posted.

updated my iPhone 4 software now it's turninng off and off and keeps repeating . HELP!

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new).  Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

  • Mac OS X Mavericks keeps repeating same software update

just did a fresh installation of Mavericks onto a MacBook Pro late 2011 model, checked for software update immediately and installed the 3 that showed up, Thunderbolt Firmware Update, MacBook Pro SMC Firmware Update and MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update, however after installing and restarting the Mac, the same updates appear again, I was puzzled and i thought the updates didn't complete in full, so i went ahead and installed again, only for the Mac to restart and show the same updates again waiting to be installed, what's wrong?

i have reset the SMC, before that there were 2 updates that kept repeating, MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update and Thunderbolt Firmware Update, the Thunderbolt one would alternate between 1.2 and 1.0 if i install it.
after resetting SMC, first i updated Thunderbolt 1.0 again, then EFI; after updating, the EFI no long appears, however Thunderbolt 1.2 appears, so i updated that again too, and after restarting, Thunderbolt 1.0 reappears.
what's wrong?? for now i'll just leave the Thunderbolt 1.0 update.
also checking System Information shows no hardware under Thunderbolt, something is wrong?

  • Why does playlist on iPod keep repeating and repeating even though play count rule is 1

    Hello, everyone!
I have a smart playlist of about 100 songs.  The play count rule is set to play songs with a play count of less than 1.  A few days ago, I reset all of the songs play count to 0.  If you ask me, the way I have it set up, when the iPod is playing with my headphones on, the iPod should automatically update each songs play count to 1 after each song plays.  After I have listened to all 100 songs, the playlist on the iPod should be empty.  The reason is is because since each song was updated from their play count of 0 to 1 after each one played the play count rule in the playlist should show no songs in the playlist.  Like I said before, the rule says to play any songs with a play count of less than 1.  Since all of the play count of the 100 songs are now 1 and not less than 1, the playlist should be empty.
The problem is, when I'm listening to my iPod and the 100 songs have played, the playlist is not empty.  It just keeps repeating songs and it will never stop.  When I go to iTunes, the songs are randomly with play counts of 3 or 2 or 1 or however many times they have been repeated.
Does anyone know why this is?

The reason the songs don't delete themselves after playing from the playlist on the iPod is because your iPod is not smart enough to do that. It's only when you re-sync your iPod to your iTunes library does the smart playlist in your iTunes library delete the played songs. Then the playlist on your iPod will adjust to the number left unplayed in that playlist.
So as long as you don't sync back to your library the number of songs in that playlist will never reduce to zero.

  • Keyboard keeps repeating letterrrrr

After upgrade to OS 10.6.8 sometimes the keyboard (bluetooth or wired) keeps repeating a letterrrrrrr, no stopping, even backspace doesn t help me, only a complete restart. Happens with different letters, different keyboards. Does anyone recognizes this problem.. many thanks for your help.

Sorry for the delayed response on this.
Thanks to everyone. I took it to an Apple Store and after much troubleshooting and wondering how the heck to get me a replacement since it was a keyboard that was not associated with a Mac, they did.
I am afraid of even updating the firmware now!! hehe
    Thanks a ton!

  • Agreement keeps repeating no end

I am trying to update software and the Apple store will not let me it keeps repeating this agreement over and over and over and over no matter how many times I accept it.
    APPLE FIX THIS NOW!!!!

Its not Nokia. This is a case of possible issues with software on your PC, like antivirus, firewalls etc. (Bitdefender is known to cause the stuck at splash screen and stuck at searching for updates problem, NOD32 is known to cause endless downloading, etc). I cant really help since each and every AV has a different convoluted way of allowing NSU and Ovi Suite through, which someone familiar with your software should know. Just do it via OTA or go to a Nokia Care Center.

  • Songs Keep Repeating

I have a 3rd Gen. 32G iPod Touch. When I play it now, the song keeps repeating and won't move forward to the next song with out me manually using a remote or the touch feature to move to the next song.
I had this issue with a 2nd. Gen iPod Touch I previously owned. That was resolved when I plugged it into iTunes and updated the software.
Well, I did the same with this iPod and it didn't resolve the issue. Does anyone know how I can make the iPod play normal???

    Welcome to the discussions,
did you check if the ipod is set to repeat songs if you activate the scrubber bar and look at the icons activated? See also http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_touch_3.1_UserGuide.pdf , page 45

You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, ask for further instructions.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. It may have come from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
Malware is also found on websites that traffic in pirated content such as video. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.

  • My thunderbolt keeps repeating music every few seconds

My new Thunderbolt monitor keeps repeating music every few seconds. When I play anything else, the music continues. How can I stop it?

I've run into the issue and it seems to be related to an app not fully supporting the iOS you're on, the reboot doesn't usually solve it.
I've solved it in the following manner(s):
    1) Backup the device to iCloud, then erase the iPad (Content and Network Settings).
    2) Setup the iPad and choose to restore from iTunes/iCloud Backup (wherever you backed it up)
    3) Perform any software updates
I have not tried simply performing the software updates (which may fix it, but if it doesn't you won't be able to perform the above steps).
    Enjoy.

If it says your billing info is wrong that means that your credit card issuer is refusing to approve your account. You will have to solve the problem with your bank or credit card company.
