OS Update Icon - How To Turn It Off?
I have a nice, new iPhone 5s but I'm reluctant to update to OS 8.
On the Settings icon is a red numeral one, indicating I have an OS update pending. How can I disable that?
If I choose to upgrade my OS at a later date, I'll use iTunes.
Any suggestions?

While attempting to update my ipad2 with the 8.1.3 update, screen froze towards the end of the update. Tried to turn it off by holding power butter to do a hard reset, but it won't turn off. How do I fix this?
Have you tried a soft-reset : Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should reappear and it will hopefully reboot.

When I open iTunes it will automatically go to full screen mode. I can't work out how to turn this off. Only iTunes opens to full screen mode.
Go to System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the menu bar). Choose "General". Click "Always close windows when quitting an application".
That should fix it. -

Are you recovering Lion or later Time Machine backup with a Lion or later machine?

I can't seem to turn off my assistant. It talks to me constantly (or on mute) and it goes through each box individually. This makes it difficult to navigate myself through pages. Please, if you know how to turn it off, help.
In 10.6 or earlier go to: Apple / System Preferences / Universal Access and turn off Voice Over.
In 10.8 go to: Apple / System Preferences / Accessibility / VoiceOver and uncheck the box for Enable VoiceOver. -
I just learned how to listen to music on my Apple Radio Station, now please tell me how to turn it off! I had to turn off the phone to make the radio stop playing!

There is a pause button and a fast forward button to the next song above the volume level indicator at the bottom. Select the pause button which will turn to a play button. When wanting to start playing again, press the play button. -
I by mistake turned on my speak reature on the my apple TV. Now it speaks everthing when I navigate through the remote. I cannot figure out how to turn it off.

Why are search queries automatically cleared from search bar? How to turn this off?
Every time I search, the search bar query automatically clears itself 5-30 seconds later. I find this annoying and am just trying to determine if it is a FF feature or an add-on and how to turn it off.

Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Uncheck the box next to " Remove saved names and passwords".

Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".

Do you mean Voice Control, which lets you speak commands, or VoiceOver, in which a voice speaks items on the screen?

When an iDevice gets wet the First thing to do is Turn it Off... leaving it on is not good.
