OS X 10.5.2 and EA Sports Madden '08

I installed OS X 10.5.2 and did System Update again and updated the Leopard update for the graphics and still cannot run Madden '08 w/out the visual problems from before.
Has anyone gotten Madden to work with a Mac Pro w/ ATI Radeon X1900 w/512MB? I have 8 GB of ram BTW..

Yahoo is my home page and News, Sports, Business categories/links changed and now shows a few sentences after each main URL link/topic. How do I put it back to show just the URL links/topics without having to scroll down and down the page. All the extra sentences after the links causes too much scrolling to view the topics.

Those steps did not solve my problem. Here is an example of what I see although it's not exact copy/paste. All I want to see are the links but I get all the verbiage after the links

  • HBO GO and NBC sports

After prompting me for MYVERIZON username and password, both HBO GO and NBC Sports are telling me I'm not subscribed to FIOS TV.

You should call in / chat with tech support so they can look at your account and see if something is missing. Good luck!

  • BT Infinity and BT Sport Installation Problems

I recently completed an order to have BT Infinity installed, but unfortunately could not get BT Sport added at the same time due to technical problems. I immediately called BT to ensure BT Sport could be added to the order to ensure that everything would be up and running on August 1st which is my installation date. The adviser assured me that I can call BT whenever I want to get BT Sport and BT Sport HD for free once the problems had been fixed and that everything would be fine for August 1st. I called up earlier today and was told that I'm going have to cancel my order and replace the order again to get BT Sport added on, however this will mean my installation date gets put back to August 8th or further back. Normally I wouldn't have an issue with this, but by pushing back the installation date, it will mean that I have no internet for at least eight days and my current provider have been unwilling to extend my broadband for a couple of days unless I wish to renew my contract with them. I'm just really annoyed as I called BT as soon as I was aware of the issue and was assured that everything would be fine, but now they have changed their tune and tell me that it is not possible to get everything for August 1st. If I had been told this when I originally rang, I could have done something about it, but now it is not possible. In short, I'm not really impressed with BT's service and expected a lot better from a major company.

From what I understand BT sport is available to all new & existing customers so I'm sorry to say you've been misinformed. They way it works I believe is once you've got your BT ID after installation, you will be able to activate your BT Sport services by logging in to your BT account once BT Sport launches.

  • Ipod classic and nike sports kit

    hi,
can anyone tell me if the ipod classic is compatible with the nike sports kit, importantly if its not why not?
i spent a considerable amount of money purchasing what i thought was a premium product and it would now appear that it will not even support something that a cheaper ipod (nano) will, how can this be so?
    cheers

The iPod classic is not compatible with the iPod sport kit, likely because its hard drive is much more vulnerable to being dropped than an iPod nano's flash media.

  • ICal, Snow, and Yahoo Sports Subscriptions missing events or will not sync

Since upgrading to Snow, all of my Yahoo Sports subscriptions no longer appear on the calendar. I have tried refreshing and re-adding but the events are still missing. Please help, I don't want to miss a football game!

This is a bummer. As far as I can tell it's just the Yahoo calendars. Just as baseball season ends and football season begins. Dangit!

  • Safari and bbc sports player

does anyone know how to get the bbc sports player to work? everytime i click on one of the videos nothing happens. i have the latest version of windows media and and real one player (the two forms of the player the bbc's requires).
I live outside the UK and whilst there are a few things on the sports player that are for UK people only, most are not. I can access the sports player fine from my work PC (microsoft) but as soon as i get home and switch on my ibook i get nothing!! Anyone have any clues??

    Hi
one thing to try is opening Realplayer Preferences, choose the transport tab, check the 'use manually configured rtsp & pna...." box & click the configure button, then check only the http box in the rtsp column.... uncheck any others.
When I first got this mac about a year ago, this was the only thing that got the bbc player working; although it doesn't seem necessary now; but I leave it set that way & don't notice any other problems. Also use Realplayer for the bbc stuff, the resolution & speed always seemed rubbish from them in wmv form.
Praps also try deleting any bbc cookies via Safari-Preferences-Security-Show Cookies.
I know how frustrating this can be, since for a while it seemed that nothing would get the bbc news/sports players to behave.

  • The Big Infinity and BT Sports Con

I have received two mail shots from BT saying that if I upgrade to Infinity I will receive BT Sports for free. Small case of mis-selling as I can get BT Sports for free without upgrading to Infinity. In fact if I upgrade to Infinity I will be paying extra for BT Sports. I wonder if anyone less on the ball, excuse the pun, have been duped by the mail shot. Come on BT, you are better than that and Sky.

In my case they said.(I am currently on ADSL in an Infinity/Multicast area).
    1. You will lose SS1 & SS2 & ESPN without infinity
    2. We will install infinity for free if you sign up for another year of broadband.
    3. We will reduce your Broadband Price by £0.40 per month. Not much but I was paying quite a low price anyway.
    4. If you stay with ADSL and do nothing lose SS1 & SS2 & ESPN via. aerial
    5. Get BTS for free via. aerial and broadband.
I know they are using the old SS channels on freeview but BTS is just a replacement for the old ESPN arrangement and I suppose they are providing more content, so that's a plus.
Broadening the discussion however, they are reducing the content on the on demand sections thus forcing you in someways to purchase the extra channels, I think £2.5/month, which is disappointing.
    All the best

  • Workaround for Chrome, Silverlight and BT Sports

I posted this in another thread as a reply, but felt it needed it's own thread. There's a workaround to get BT Sports working in the Chrome browser:
In the adddress bar type in chrome://flags and press Enter
Search the page for the NPAPI plugin
    Click Enable
Click Relaunch Now to close and reopen the browser
Go to BT Sports and you'll now be able to watch it via Chrome. (I know it works - I've just done it).
    Thanks

Perhaps so. But if people are using Chrome then at least it'll allow them to continue to do so until that time. Yes, but probably best that they know that it's only going to last until September.
They can also turn off the Google updater before that time and it should continue to work. They wouldn't have realised that, but would they want to stick with an outdated version of Chrome just to avoid switching to another browser now and then?
And maybe BT can invest some time in making their player not depend on Silverlight ... even MS will be withdrawing it at some point. Then we'd all be happier, as would Sky customers.
I'm of the opinion that I'd rather let people have the required info and make up their own minds what to do. Me too, but I try make sure that it's all the required info.

  • Fritz!box 7390 and BT Sport

Has anyone found a way of watching BT Sport using a Fritz!box 7390? I get BT Sport perfectly using the HH5 but would like to use the fritz!box for all its other facilities. I am using the HH5 as the main modem/router and the fritz!box as a router off the HH5 at the moment but this is not the most elegant setup. Using the fritz!box gives me line stats and info which is not available from the HH5. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You can't access BT Sport with a viewing card via a Youview box. As you say, it doesn't have a slot.
Unfortunately you need to be on an Infinity exchange (at present) to watch BT Sport on a Youview box.
Your only method of watching will be via the BT Sport website on a PC or via an App on a mobile device.

  • Poor internet and BT sport

Two months ago we got BT TV and Internet. Since then we have had internet issues.
BT sports get an error message ipc6023 and the Internet box shuts down and reloads about 4/5 times every evening.
I have lost count of the number of time we have spoken to the oversea technical department over the last month. All they want to keep doing is to check the line speed, get us to change some settings and then monitor it for two days. Two days later we have another call with BT, to go through the same things. This has been going on since we have had the Internet with BT and nothing has improved.
Three days ago we did have two engineers come out to check our inside connections. They couldn't find anything wrong with inside, but still couldn't fix the problem.
We keep on getting passed around, know one at BT wants to take ownership of this problem. It feels like as long as we are paying our bills that's all they care about.
    Can anyone help.

Can you run this checker and post back a screen shot of the results
    http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
and use this speed tester then carry out the further diagnostics and post back a screen shot of all the results including your IP profile for up and down. This test must be done with a wired connection.

  • Difference between "Black Sport Band with Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin" and "Black Sport Band"

If you look at the Apple Store site at the Sport Strap, there seems to be 2 black version - one is titled "Black Sport Band with Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin" and one just "Black Sport Band".
Since in the picture they use a Space Grey Watch for one and Silver Watch for the other, it's hard to tell the difference between these two straps. Any ideas?

The difference is very subtle yet noticeable. The Black Sport Band with Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin is geared more towards using it with the Stainles Steel Apple Watch since the little pin that's visible from the bottom of your wrist is stainless steel and matches the case, whereas the Black Sports Band w/o Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin matches  more to the metal that's used on the Apple Watch Sport. Hope this helps!

  • No Espn and Sky sports on you view

Just a word of caution for all the eager beavers that enjoy the sports offerings via card on Bt Vision, as of yet this service will not be available on the you view box on offer, no wifi, its not even DNLA compliant, we can even get that on our smart phones, and most decent spec devices offer both of these specs,  there will be better specified set top boxes than the humax offering, so before diving in, maybe best to wait and see whats on offer, I appreciate later down the line there wont be any need for the card slot that the humax lacks to get the likes of the sports package , but how long will the waite be? looks like another knee jerk roll out of an imperfect product by Bt, some may say that the two specs i mentioned are not important, but believe me when they are put to use they are very good and in my opinion worth waiting for.

What will be interesting is whether Now TV is available on BT's Youview box. If it is, as it should be, then Sky have said that SSports will follow later this year.
Oh, forgot to say, many users are having mega problems at the moment with the above app. Picture freezing, loss of sound, loss of access ect. But, it's a new platform, so I suppose some problems are to be expected.

  • Sky Go and BT Sport not working in firefox, they used to. Both work fine in Chrome.

I have used Firefox for many years, about a week before Christmas I tried to used Sky Go for the 1st time in about 6-8 weeks and it wouldn't work. It was as if there was no player at all - no buffering, no error messages, just a white background box where the player is meant to be. I recently found out that BT Player also doesn't play. That too just acts as if there is no video player there. Both used to work fine, and both still do in IE and Chrome.
I have the Ad Block Plus and Flash Blocker add ons installed, but disabled for Sky Go. I have deleted and re-installed silverlight as per Sky's suggestion, and I have the Silverlight plugin "always active" in the plugins tab. The only changes that have been made since when they both worked last, and now, is updating firefox version, and changing my Internet Service Provider.
Any help? I really can't stand Internet Explorer, and I'd rather use firefox than chrome as it's what I've used and trusted for years.

hi anthony81, can you try to totally disable flashblock for testing purposes once in the addons manager, restart firefox and see if it is making a difference?

  • Sopcast on PPC Macs and live sports TV streaming

This set-up seems to work more or less:
    PPC Mac OS 10.4.11
VPC 7.0.3 with Windows XP 5.01.2600 and IE 6.0.2600.0
    Sopcast 3.0.3
The quality is not great though, and the video hangs but then gets going again. Any ideas about how to stop the video from hanging?
