OS X 10.5 Mail shows unread messages when there are none and get ghost messages

I have been searching for an ansswer to this delimma, but have found similar issues but none exactly the same.  I run 10.6 server and have mixed network users of 10.6 and 10.5 clients.  One of the users on 10.5 's mail app keeps showing unread messages, but there are no unread messages.  When they click on another mail box in the mail client or another folder the number changes, but ther always seems to be one or two.  The user also gets at least 2 blank e-mails in the mail app.  I have check the users web mail account and there are no blank e-mail messages or spam.  I tried to rebuild the mail box, and have also tried trashing the indexs, and they still get the same message.  Short of creating a new user does anyone have any suggestions?  None of my other users seem to have the same problem, although they do not use mail as much as this one user does..... 

I get this issue every single day, and it is specifically reproducible. Here is the scenario:
1) I have two mail accounts configured on my iPhone, one is my work account and is disabled on the phone, the other is my gmail account which is always enabled on my phone
2) Each morning, when I head into work I enabled my work email account so I can start reading my work emails for the day. This downloads all the new messages from the server and displays them as unread.
3) I read some of them, but not all of them.
4) Once I get to my office, I read all of the rest of my new work emails from the Mail app on my MacBook Pro.
EXPECTED: The messages that are read on the mail app are updated as read messages
OBSERVED: On my iphone, not all of the messages have their statuses changed to read. Some of them always remain as unread messages
5) Next, I delete some of the messages read from my computer from the email server altogether.
EXPECTED: These messages would also appear deleted when using the mail app on my iPhone
OBSERVED: Not only are the messages not deleted, but they are still listed as unread
The only way to resolve this each day is for me to select each message and view it for a second to have the unread message indicator removed. I have to turn off the mail account and turn it back on for it to correctly sync with the mail server and correct the mistakes.
There is clearly a problem within the iPhone mail app with retrieving updates from the mail servers.
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 that I purchased in November. Before that, I had an iPhone 3G S and never experienced the issue on my 3G S. My MacBook Pro was used with both devices.

    Please open your message icon and press the menu button(left of the trackball) and click saved messages. Are there any messages in there?

    Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
    you might also try deleting the mail account and re-adding it (in the Settings app).

    Configured Mail in 10.4.11 to iCloud specifications and get error messages and still cannot send and receive. Get error messages, "does not recognize password" etc. Have working on Snow Leopard, iPhone iPad but not 10.4.11 PPC Mail. Any help? I used Apple support set up. I originally had a .mac account and have tried both [email protected] and xxx.me.com as username. I Upgraded my password to stronger suggested strength. (one cap and one letter minimum 8) I verified Keychain. I have even deleted everything including Keychain and account and started over numerous times, still no joy.  Ports are incoming 993 and outgoing 587.  Will not be upgrading this machine due to production software issues but was told I could stll use the .mac email
    Any help here?

    Give the date there is another probable solution. Were you originally a MobileMe subscriber? If you weren't, then please ignore the rest of this post.
    MobileMe subscribers who migrated to iCloud received complimentary extra storage up until September 30 2013. This has now expired. If you have less than 5GB data in iCloud then your storage simply reverts to 5GB.
    However if you have more than 5GB data, Backup, Documents and Mail will stop working until you either delete sufficient data to bring you within 5GB or purchase additional storage. Possibly this is what has happened to your - you should have been sent an email about this.

    Your problem is that you cannot access iCloud to do this because you have no iCloud preference pane. Your only options are to use a compliant Mac (Lion or Mountain Lion) or an iOS5/6 device to purchase extra storage; or to go to http://icloud.com and delete as much as you can there (you may not be able to access this page on Tiger, but you would be able to do so from any more recent computer).

    Okay... Well I think I solved my own issue. There are two ways to delete messages in the messages app. You can swipe to the left, or you can click edit and delete it that way. The latter of which i didn't try as I thought they were synonymous. Turns out that it actually reset the new messages counter, and it now shows as no unread messages. Anyone having similar issues in the future be sure and delete messages using edit then clicking the red icon to the left of the message.

    Your current code creates a new table for each result. The opening and closing <table> tags should be outside the the <for-each> loop. To deal with the possibility of no results being found, use a conditional statement and the count() function like this:

    Nokia email client is not supported for my device (7610).
    Also, it seems, there is no way to delete the headers selectively. Normally, when you want to handle the emails through your mobile device, you want to keep only important ones and delete the rest. So, possibly, Nokia can consider this for the future updates of the software, where user can delete the headers selectively to keep the inbox uncluttered and only as per the requirement.

    Maybe there is a message in a other folder, e.g. the spam folder. Tap on the "Inbox" top left on the screen. A window appears, in this window - again in the top left corner is a button with your account name. Tap on it and you will see the available folder. One more tap shows you all your mail accounts.

    - delete content and settings
    - restore network settings
    - restore keyboard dictionary
    - restore home layout
    - alerts reset position
    Which one you mean?

  • HT1535 i cannot get to a screen that says library and my IPOD only shows 1 song when there are many more.  My IPOD does not show upas a adevisw under my, or any other name really ready to toss it out the door.

    I can't get my IPOD NANO to update my libreary onthe new itunes webset.  It will no recognize my older musis, it shows noting to selece onthe right side of sreen to select musid, shows nolibrary, mostly shows nothing.  Really frustrating. any help would be appreciated
