OS X 10.8.3 Kills Wifi

Question

Running Mac Mini. Just upgraded to 10.8.3 Wed AM (it is now Thu PM). Computer has lost all wifi functionality.
Boot the computer and login. Open browser and everything is fine for about 15 minutes then it gets slower and slower until it stops.
Boot the computer and login. Open two terminal windows and ping wifi router with both. Packet responses at 2 ms. By 1000th ping response is at 3-6 ms with gusts to 10-100 ms. Then lost packets begin slowly and ramp up. At 4000th ping Ctrl-c to stop ping then restart and let run for another 1000 packets Ctrl-c and ping statistics show 60% packet loss.
At the same time as I was running Mac mini terminal pings I have continuous pings running to same wireless router from iPad and Android phone. Over 2000 packets on each with 0.1% packet loss.
Traceroute works on iPad and phone and not on Mac mini. Tried DHCP release. Router reboot does not help. Shutdown wifi and back on does not help. Deleting network and switching to guest network does not work. Recreating original network does not work. Dropped packets begin around 1000th ping and completely cripple it about 2500 packets later.
Router is Cisco/Linksys E4200 v1 firmware needs update but it worked fine from the day we received over a year ago until upgrade of OS X yesterday. Read somewhere to disable channel 12/13 on wifi router - do not have controls for that.
I have to dig my Unix networking books out of the garage but any suggestions helpful.
Or point me to another thread if this was solved elsewhere.

Did the router firmware upgrade and gathered packet statistics overnight. About 7%. So improved and you can use wifi without too much slow down but it still ain't right. iPad and Android are at 0.1%.
The router has the ability to ping and traceroute from itself so I checked pings to time.nist.gov and get response about 3 ms with no packet loss. Using iPad and Android phone time.nist.gov gives 5 ms response time with no dropped packets. So consistent.
Mac mini is 2 years old. Still have 1 year left on Apple care. Hard drive blew its brains out 4 months ago so completely new installation of 10.7 server at that time; then upgrade to 10.8.3 on Wed.
Are there any additional statistics I can gather on the wifi?
The wifi is solid with the iPad and the Android. I am using WPA/WPA2 encryption but again iPad/Android are OK. I normally use MAC address filtering but that is turned off.
The only thing that I can think of is something in the driver.
