OS X 10.8.3 logs out (idle timer?)

even thought I have screesavers off, idle timers and energy savers off my iMac logs itself off around every 12 minutes.
even when clean my Mac is running or I'm listening to itunes music after about 12 minutes the iMac logs off and shutsdown.
I have this problem since november 2012.
I am current with my patches.
PLease assist with a sollution. No articles with apple support give a good sollution.

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode.  Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Bug: 2780176 - Logging and logging out multiple times in LCDS can cause duplicate session detected errors.
    QA: Yes
    Doc: No
    Checkintests: Pass
Details: When a logout was followed by an immediate login, sometimes the server would throw duplicate session detected errors. This was because when logout happened, a fire-and-forget disconnect message was sent to the server that established a new session, and if the subsequent login happened before disconnect ACK returned from the server, that would establish another session and hence the error. The fix is to insert a slight delay between disconnect and ResultEvent dispatching. This way, disconnect has a chance to return before a login is performed.

You've got an  incompatible Logitech driver and java was incompletely uninstalled.
You may have a problem with the Wacom driver.
I don't know if fixing those things will help.
There also a few window server errors, but I don't know if they are causal.
If you can note the time of the hangs, that might help narrow it down in the logs.

  • Logged out several times an hour

    Is it just me?
I am being logged out several times an hour and needing multiple attempts to log back in.
Is there some maintenance going on?
Should I give up until tomorrow?

    John,
Was happening to me, with greater and greater regularity. It got so bad that I would log-in, just to get a reply screen, and then have to log-in to post it, and maybe 2-3 times.
Finally, it spiraled to the point that every forum would throw me to the main forum page, and clicking on anything there would bring up Server Not Found.
The speed also ground to a halt.
About 1:00 PM (PDT/AZT), things got back to normal.
    Sun spots?

  • MacBook Pro logs out before Time Capsule has finished backing up

I can't seem to get the initial back-up done, my MacBook Pro logs out before Time Capsule has a chance to finish backing up, approximately 95GB to complete and it only gets to 12 or 15GB. Any ideas?

  • Automatically log out idle and disconnected users

    Hi,
    Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain.
Im trying to have users that are connected with RDP to other servers and clients to automatically log out if there are idle og disconnected for more than 30 minutes. Im able to get it working if i use computer configuration, but I want this to work under
user configuration, so im not sure what I am doing wrong.
I have configured the following. Created a single GPO on the root of the domain, and put a desktop 7 client in this container. Then i have configured a GPO with the following settings: User Configuration>Policies>Administrative Templates>Windows
Components>Remote Desktop Services>Session Time Limits: Here I have enabled "Set time limit for disconncted sessions", "Set time limit for active but idle...." and "End session when time...."
If i check the GPO, under security filtering i have Authenticated Users, and they have read and apply, and it is linked to the correct OU.
If I now log in to my client and do a gpupdate /force log out and in again, I can see the GPO is not applied correct. The strange thing is that is named under Computer Settings> The following GPOs were not applied because they are filtered out.. here
is my GPO and reason is "Not applied (Empty). Under User settings there is no such GPO applied...
I thought that it should have been under user settings .... if i configure the GPO as a computer settings it works.... but should not this also work for users ?
    /Regards Andreas

    It will come at : User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Terminal Services\Terminal Server\Session Time Limits
    Refer below link
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753112%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
It will come means, you will find the settings at the mentioned path. That's for terminal session can be applied on servers not necessarily only for Terminal servers.
Best practice is to add security group in the security filter. But yes if you have less number of users, you can add them directly.

  • Any recent change? Logged out many times a day

Starting today at some indeterminate time, I have been logged out of the forums in less that one hour periods. Firefox/Mac, Safari/Vista, Explorer/Vista.

Claudio González wrote on 12/16/2009 11:46 AM:
Well, if I am not the only case, mayge it is no longer considered a low priority one:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2440544#2440544
Why would people being logged out have any bearing on the priority I
give to you being logged into another account after 24 hours?
The priority I give to issues is pretty much linearly related to the
    estimated return on investment.
The return I am looking for is when I learn something or when I get
something. I estimate that neither will be the case, so the only return
is that somebody else gets something (with a high probability that I
will be able to identify the issue, but a low probability I will be able
to fix it). Whether that somebody is you or 3 three people does not
significantly affect what the return to me is.
On the investment side it is just too much work. For pretty much all
your issues you post huge numbers of messages that each contain a tiny
bit of information (if any). You are leaving it up to the reader to go
wade through all those messages and extract the useful bits out of them.
I do that for paying customers, not on a forum.
If you want me to look into it you are going to have to rebalance that
equation for me. Provide a nice table or something with the columns
date, time, RMID, JSESSIONID, AUID and observation. Some dozen data
points (especially from events such as 'first authenticated request',
'last request before logout' etc.) from one browser should provide a
good starting point for an analysis.
That is what would get me interested. I do not know what would get Adobe
    or Jive interested.

  • Anyone else with Macbook Pro that keeps logging out in Time Machine, stopping the backup?

    Okay
My backup drive bit the dust, big time, so I got a fresh external, but cannot get Time Machine to work.
13" Macbook Pro keeps terminating Time Machine and logging out when on power cord when going to screen saver.
I've set the screen saver to start after NEVER, the computer and display sleep to NEVER in Energy Saver, as I have it on an external monitor.
Still does not stay logged in.
    Any other ideas?
I seriously need to back up.

  • Logged out each time iTunes closes

I've noticed lately that iTunes seems to always log me out when I close the session even if I didn't log out.  Has anyone else noticed this and/or have any suggestions on how to stay signed into iTunes unless I choose to sign-out?

    Bump.

  • Finding out idle time

How can i find out the idle time in java?
I want to fire an even if the idle time is 1 minute
    Thanks

Topic: IDLE Time for Java Application not SYSTEM Idle Hi I am Krishna , I want to calculate idle time for an application. That is , if user1 uses the application for example called "yahoo site" for checking mails , then after 10 mins he went to outside , from 11th min the status of application should show (Like Yahoo messenger after certail time it shows idle time ) in another ADMINJSP page for Admins that how much this user1 idle say.. : 1 min idle 2 min idle .... .... 10 min idle Now user1 comes and now clicks on application . then ADMINJSP page should show total IDLE time (10 mins idle). And he again after 15 mins he went some where from 16th min the status of the application should show in ADMINJSP page.If user1 left the application like that then the application should be idle for 1 hour i.e 1 min idle 2 min idle ... ... 59 mins idle 60 mins idle Time Up -- Session Expired then he has to login again. So the above is the issue --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What i have done ..................issssssssssssss ------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have taken time for last request by using getLastAccessedTime() I have taken present time System.currentTimeMills() Taking the difference we will get the idle time . But the problem here is When user1 click on any page only this calcuting will be done and showing to ADMINJSP because getLastAccessedTime works only when any requests comes , but we dont want like that , we want the application without any requests from user1 the application should show idle for 1 min , 2 mins , 3 mins...so on upto user1 uses the application then the time should be normal. I have also tried all the EVENTS classes in HttpSessionBinding like valueunbound()...or sessiondestroy() etc. Can any one please help me by giving any CODE.If you need more information plz ask me Plz plz plz plz this is very urgent plz can any please send me the CODE , ihave tried this very hard but no idea how to do? long startTime = session.getLastAccessedTime(); long stopTime = System.currentTimeMillis(); long diffTimeInSecs = (stopTime - startTime) / 1000 ; gives idle time for every request Regards Krishna

    RDS or local logon?
If RDS: Check what you see in  Computer Configuration\Administrative

  • Inspiron 5548 logs out every time I add/remove a second monitor

I have a new Dell Inspiron 5548 running Windows 8.1, and I noticed every time I change the monitor configuration the system logs me out. This happens if I connect a new monitor and change the configuration from "duplicate" to "extend" or if I connect or disconnect a monitor that I'm using as a second display. Any thoughts? Maybe a graphics card issue?
The system has Intel HD Graphics 5500 and an AMD Radeon R7 M270 card (4 GB).

Awesome!  This worked for me as well.  My steps to get this Intel driver:
    1) Open Device Manager, select Display adapters, double click Intel HD Graphics 5500, go to Driver tab, click on Uninstall.  I did not click the "remove driver" option.  This operation logged me out.
    2) Login.  Open Device Manager and get to Display adapters as above.  Now I saw a Microsoft basic driver instead of the Intel HD5500 driver.  Double click it.  Select the "Update Driver" button.  Select the "Search automatically..." option.  It went out and found Intel HD Graphics 5500, v10.18.14.4156, 3/3/2015 and installed it.
What's frustrating is that if you simply go to the Display adapters and select "Update Driver" for the installed (and problematic) 2014 version of HD5500 driver, it tells you it is already up to date!  If you go to Intel site directly and download and run their Intel Driver Update Utility, it also doesn't indicate that a newer HD5500 driver exists.
    Such a time waste.
Oh, and that support ticket I filed last week?  Dell hasn't even assigned it yet.  Way to go Dell, thanks (not) for the assistance.

  • Automatic log-out after 20 minutes working in a layout

    Hello
We have an automatic log-out of the layout after 20 minutes of work. The time out is set up at 58 minutes. Does anyone know of a paramater in a 3.0B that would trigger this log-out ? Something separate from the main time-out ?
    Regards
    Fabrice

It is not different from main time-out as per my understanding.
As step 1, pls check your patch level to SEM. The current patch level is 12.
Step 2: The time-out/idle time parameters are set by the Basis consultant. Please explain to your Basis person and he/she will help you out.
Step 3: Have you checked that whether you are locked? whether your transactions take longer or longest time to excute? or hangs over? Then it may be a software bug. Please take-up with SAP OSS support.
PS: Please award suitable points if the answers provide direction and clue.

  • HT5500 how can you log out of your account. i don't like that the facebook app automatically logs me in even after i log out.

i want to enter my password every time i get into facebook

You can still access facebook outside of the integration. I do it all the time. You just have to do it differently. I choose to access facebook via safari so I can upload photos, comment on posts, etc.
THere are also third party apps that can be used to access facebook with a bit more control than the integration.
The facebook and twitter integration assumes that you want to be logged in all the time, every time and post anything and everything to their services.
The only way you can really control what you put on facebook or twitter is to not use the integration and use apps or a browser.
For your situation, try using safari and then tell it to not remember your passworld. That should force you to log in each time. If it won't remember that then use Safari and log out each time so you always have to log in.

  • I want to link my Gmail account, but I still want the option to log out...

Can I do that on the iPhone 4? I like the convenience of having my email account on my phone, but I don't like that I'm ALWAYS logged in. I'd like to log out from time to time just because of in case my phone is stolen or lost, I don't want someone to compromise that account... Even if a phone has passcode lock, it can still be hacked in.

You can set up GMAIL separately on any iOS device (including push notification)
