Os x 10.8.3 update caused graphic and general slowness
on my mid2012 15inch macbook pro, which worsens when switching to the powerful graphic card. MRI shows no hardware malfunctions. any ideas what may cause this?

In searching the forum I ran across your note on this Microsoft security patch causing this issue. As with many large companies security patches are pushed to client machines. So while we can remove the patch on client machines, it will likely get pushed again and create an ongoing issue. Can you share what if anything Oracle is doing to alleviate this? We are running the latest patch release of V11 of BAM.

Mac OSX 10.6.7 update causes iTunes and entire system to be unresponsive?
Hey all,
I updated to the latest OS X patch today and I've been having problems with iTunes crashing the system ever since.
iTunes would open and the entire system cease to be responsive: the mouse cursor does not respond to movements on the touchpad and the functions keys no longer do anything.
Is this a problem that anyone else is experiencing?Sam problem here, all use of the latest iTunes freezes my whole computer, this has never happened to me with OS X before.
But I have friends who are not having this problem, so it is not affecting everybody. Could it be some other installed app that causes this?
Is there any simple way to downgrade to 10.6.6? -
Iphone Updates Cause Restore And Loss Of Purchased Songs
Whenever i download updates for my Iphone 3g It stuffs up when installing causeing the apple screen and tells me i have to restore the phone, once i do that and go to sync the phone with itunes my songs are there except the ones i purchased from the itunes store, is there anyway i can get those songs back without having to purchase them again? 10.8.2 Update Causes Skype and Chrome to Crash
I just finished the OSX 10.8.2 update and now Skype and Chrome/Rockmelt won't open on my Macbook Pro.
I get the following error message:
"RockMelt (or Chrome/Skype) quit unexpectedly.
Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple."
I've tried opening the applications again, (repeatedly) as well as restarting my computer to no avail. Everything was working perfectly prior to the update. Anyone else having the same problem? Or advice on what to do?So far, here are the programs that I've experienced problems with:
Non-Apple Programs
Chrome/Rockmelt
Skype
Remote Desktop
Apple Programs
iPhoto
Dashboard (sometimes)
AppStore (sometimes)
Everthing worked perfectly until the update and now the programs won't even open. Also, I've redownloaded Chrome/Rockmelt and Skype with no success.

10.7.4 update causes YouTube and Flash video Errors?
Since updating to 10.7.4 yesterday, I've noticed that YouTube and other online Flash videos stutter, stop and continue playing, or pause frequently. Has anyone else noticed this bug? I'm using the newest version of Chrome but tried Safari as well and noticed the same kind of bug. If anyone has a fix it would be greatly appreciated.
File a bug report with Apple.

Windows Updates Causing CFMX7 and CF8 to no longer run.
My CFMX7 and CF8 developer's copy will no longer run on my
computer. The only thing I've done is install window's updates.
Now, every time I reboot, I have to restore to a date about 2 weeks
ago. Then it will run until I have to reboot again. Then I have to
restore again. I have no idea what to do about this. Any help would
be appreciated.
I have both CFMX7 and CF8 installed to run as stand alone
concurrent systems. CFMX7 is supposed to run on port 8500. CF8 is
set to run on 8501. And both DO run, but only when I restore after
reboots.
The only thing I can think of doing at this point is
uninstalling both CF servers and reinstalling them. This will be a
hastle, though, since I'll have to re-setup all my ODBC sources and
copy my wwwroot folders, hoping I don't forget anything else that
I'll have to reset in the adminstrators after I reinstall. This
would be my last choice of action, but I have to act soon as this
is interfering with my dev work with customers.

The exact location depends on what flavor of CF you have
installed,
server, multi-home, j2ee, etc.
But there are a collection that in CF 7 where all called
neo-xxx.xml. I
believe the xml file names are similar for CF 8.
If you copy the desired xml file from your old installation
into a new
installation and then restart the CF server all the settings
can be
restored.
If you are using enterprise or development license servers
you can also
achieve the above using the built in CAR (ColdFusion Archive)
feature of
the administrator. -
Latest iTunes update caused static and skips in music
I'm not quite sure how to check what update I last did, but ever since I did it, my music has had a static sound and skips on occasion. I know my friend who also does not have a Mac is experiencing the same thing and I'm wondering if it's connected to the latest update.
There is an alternative downloader for 64-bit editions of Windows here:
iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
that seems to address the most of the playback issues - including problems with Bluetooth devices - that some users have been reporting with the full 64-bit version (the alternative installer here is the same architecture as most previous "64-bit" versions of iTunes, i.e., a 32-bit application with a 64-bit installer). The "for older video cards" label appears to be something of a misnomer as some people have reported that this corrects problems found on current / high-spec systems.
Some users have reported that after installing this alternative version it is necessary to adjust the "Play audio using" selection (normally to "Direct Sound" rather than "Windows Audio Session", though this may vary based on your audio hardware/drivers) in Edit > Preferences > Playback to restore glitch-free audio (one part of the reported symptoms is that the "Direct Sound" choice isn't available, usually in Windows 8).
Another possible remedy relates to a potential clash between the 64-bit version of iTunes 12 and Google Chrome; some users have reported that uninstalling Chrome (not just not having it running) resolves the iTunes playback issues without having to install the alternative version referred to above.
Finally, you may want to think about reverting to iTunes 12.0 - see Turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for steps needed to completely remove all installed iTunes components, and for links to the 12.0 installers. -
2014.3 Update causing crashes and data loss
I have recently update to Adobe Muse 2014.3 edition. Since then I have been experiencing many crashes, difficulty saving and file corruption. I was not sure if it was Muse or Mac Os errors until now. I can confirm my Mac is in good working order.
See attached screen capture for the latest problem - cannot save a file after making edits. Muse feezes on save.
Is it possible to reinstall the previous version of Muse? I cannot complete work reliably with the new update.
CYThe update fixed the problem, however I am now encountering a new one.
Uploading to ftp locations slows dramatically at about 60% progress, by about 70% progress I get the Mac spinning wheel, sometimes the transfer will progress incredibly slow, or Muse will freeze.
Today I could complete an ftp transfer and muse crashed. See attached screen capture.
I am now exporting html and then uploading va ftp app however when exporting I am still seeing a dramatic slow down at some point after 60%.
I am also seeing the following message pop up in web browsers (see attached image). I have been seeing this message a lot since the first update 2014.3
I thought these problems may be have related to my ISP, however I am in a different country now using two different IPS's but the errors still remain.

New Safari Update Causes Multiple Posts. SLOW

June 9 (7), 2010 Safari Update Problems- Slower, Multiple Posting
I have Mac OS X, Version 10.6.3. 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3.
This is the first problem I’ve noticed w/ a software update.
On June 9, 2010 I downloaded a safari update that was an automatic software update. This was probably the “Safari 5.0” update, dated June 7, 2010, but I’m not 100% sure. I downloaded it the same day I got it & I have software updates scheduled to look every day for updates.
This update changed the menu bar to blue when loading a new address. Previously the menu bar was white & showed a grey band at the end of it that said “loading” when loading a new address. Now the grey band is absent.
The new improvement is horrible. On a site I post & reply to posts on, It is slower in moving around a site & loading a page than before the update. I don’t care about the blue band. While the previous grey band showed immediately when it began loading, the new blue expanding bar on the address doesn’t immediately change when loading.
When posting or replying, when pressing the “post” button it takes longer to respond than before. Now that the grey band that said “loading” isn’t present one isn’t sure if it took the command. If the “post” button is pressed more than once it now posts as many times as the button is pressed. Then extra posts have to be deleted, but w/ replies this isn’t possible. This is a awful feature. The previous address function was much more preferable.
Before this update, when posting, even if the “post” button was pressed multiple times, it would only post once whether an original blog/post or reply. On some sites it seems to work OK.
If Apple technicians monitor this site, please provide a correction for this asap. The improvements are awful.
The correction should have:
1) Replace the grey band that said “loading” even if the blue band remains.
2) Make pressing the “post button” multiple times only post once- like before.
3) Return the speed it previously moved around a site & posted. Removing the blue band is OK. I don't care about this.
❈❈❈ Can I safely remove all the Safari updates that were added on June 9, 2010 when I added this update to the trash bin? Will this return Safari safely to the previous settings? I’ve found in finder where it expands to show the exact updates that were added on June 9, 2010.
Could just selected ones be removed to accomplish what I want? Any suggestions?If you want to report this issue to Apple's engineering, send a bug report or an enhancement request via its Bug Reporter system. To do this, join the Mac Developer Program—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report or enhancement request. The nice thing with this procedure is that you get a response and a follow-up number; thus, starting a dialog with engineering.
Alternatively, send Feedback, but that usually goes through support and marketing, although when it'll get to engineering is anyone's guess.
Finally, there's the Safari toolbar Report Bug tool. -

I have a Mid-2007 Macbook white. I have upgraded its memory to 4GB. Snow Leopard was working great, and I said to myself maybe it's time to upgrade to Lion.
After the upgrade all was well. However, a big problem occurs when I plug in to the Mini-DVI display port with the HDMI adapter, to connect to my Sony LCD HDTV. The whole graphics and video slow down, everything is choppy. Quicktime and VLC video playback is strobe and choppy looks like very low Frame Rate. Cannot watch anything, not HD nor low resolutions. The entire computer is slow when the cable is connected.
Things I tried:
*VGA adapter seems to work fine - it's the digital display output that probably causes that.
*Running it through a new user.
This never happened on Snow Leopard. i'm considering to go back. However, I am wondering if there is a way to fix this minor problem.Update:
We solved the problem. Weird solution but now it seems to work. I plugged a VGA adpater and played with the screen rsolutions to try and watch a movie well on my LCD screen. I changed the screen resolutions but I couldn't revert back to the default settings. Pressing "Detect Displays" didn't do anything.
Here is the interesting part: When I placed back the DVI-HDMI adapter, suddenly everything worked fine!!! There was no choppy videos, no low fps, works prefect.
Something weird is going on here, but I'm happy I managed to get the DVI to HDMI to work because I was about to removie Lion and bring back Snow Leopard. -
At first my laptop was fine after the earphone end got stuck in. Soon it started getting slower, and suddenly it stopped switching on. The people in the service station said that it wAs because the hard disk drive was corrupted. I came back home, and immediately it stopped working again. This time they said it was because of water spill. They changed the entire key board and then it started working for a while. Later I updated to maverick and that slowed down my computer. Once, I switched on my laptop, logged in, and then the screen went white. When we took it to the service center they said they will need to replace the hard disk. I am not sure what I should do. Any suggestions?
Liquid damage from water spill is progressive, unfortunately.

Change in privilege level for the command show logging
