OS X 10.8 Comparable Feature to American Power Conversion PowerChute Personal Edition 3

Does OS X 10.8 have a feature that is comparable to American Power Conversion PowerChute Personal Edition 3 software that works with APC Power Saving Back-UPS 750, Part Number BE750?

Yes, provided your unit has a USB control port. Run USB cable from UPS port to a USB port on the computer. Works through the Energy Saver preferences.

  • How can I use the hardware compare feature of the 6551 card to trigger scripts

I can dynamically and seamlessly generate different waveforms by triggering different scriptTriggers that drive one or more of the 4 PFI lines. However, I need to evaluate a channel at a specific location or locations set by a script marker in real-time and generate a different waveform stored in on-board memory based on the result of the evaluation. I have attempted to use the hardware compare feature without any success. I am trying to dynamically respond to an I2C device based on the ACKs or NACK response of the device under test. Can the 6551 card accomplish this? Has anyone successfully tested an I2C or SMBus communication stream with 6551 card?

    Hello,
I can understand why hardware compare did not work out for you application.  Hardware compare uses a signal that was generated to make a digital pattern and then waits a few clock cycles before acquiring the signal that needs to be compared to the digital pattern.
I would look into using a script trigger to evaluate the channel value, where the script structure controls when it is evaluated.  Please note that script triggers will need to be cleared after they are detected for reasserting.  Some script syntax actually clear the script trigger and then use a wait until script trigger structure.  Please refer to the HS DIO Help for documentation on Common Scripting Use Cases.
Please provide us with further details about your application.  The more information, the better!  I was not too clear on what you where wanting to evaluate and where is it coming from.
I would also like to mention that National Instruments has a NI USB 8451 which is capable of I2C communication.

  • Acrobat compare feature

I typeset a lot of books and so do frequent compares. The problem is Acrobat X's text compare feature is not at all useful. The compares take a long time to run, you can't compare books that have more than 250 pages and then the result is hard to read because it is so complicated (and I hate the little notes you have to open to see the text to figure out what changed)
I use Acrobat 7 to run my compares because it is faster, there are no page limitations and the results are simple (underlines and crossouts).
Does anyone else have this problem or am I missing something in the way the program is supposed to work? The option I use is text only compare.

    - You can't install Acrobat Pro alongside Acrobat Standard. You will need to remove Standard to be able to install Pro.
    - You (probably) can't upgrade your license if it's a part of an enterprise license. The entire license will need to be upgraded.
    - It's not possible to install just the "Compare Documents" function as a sort of add-on to Acrobat Standard.

  • Please compare features of CS6 & extended.

Please compare features of CS6 & extended.
This was asked a couple of months ago and the answer was not helpful (download & try them). I've found a comparison tool that shows what's in the bundles and another that shows what's different in the different upgrades, but not one that show CS6 & CS6 Extended.
I've also found various discussions about extended use, but they didn't clearly spell out the differences. I get the concept that Extended is about 3D, while CS6 is 2D, but that's about it. Any specifics available?

No. The tools used to create Power BI reports are available in the on premises versions:
    Power Query
    Power Pivot
    Power Map
    Power View
To take advantage of these in a PowerBI site, or to use Q&A you need a subscription to Office365 with a PowerBI license.

    Allen,
I bought my imac in USA and brought it here, and I use an adapter. you will just be wasting a lot of money by buying the cord. Just go for the adapter. you can get them at Yongsan or any electrical lighting store for about 500 won. they work great. buy two just in case.

  • Any rules for tolerance when comparing features ?

The following selects create different results - depending on tolerance:
    select sdo_geom.relate(b.geom,'determine', c.geom, 0.0005) from cds_tsur c, kwi b where b.FID = 100383 and c.FID= 81070
    SDO_GEOM.RELATE(B.GEOM,'DETERMINE',C.GEOM,0.0005)

    select sdo_geom.relate(b.geom,'determine', c.geom, 0.005) from cds_tsur c, kwi b where b.FID = 100383 and c.FID= 81070
    SDO_GEOM.RELATE(B.GEOM,'DETERMINE',C.GEOM,0.005)

    select sdo_geom.relate(b.geom,'determine', c.geom, 0.00005) from cds_tsur c, kwi b where b.FID = 100383 and c.FID= 81070
    SDO_GEOM.RELATE(B.GEOM,'DETERMINE',C.GEOM,0.00005)
    OVERLAPBDYINTERSECT
    1 Zeilen ausgewählt
Tolerance in sdo_geom_metadata are set to 0.0005 for both features and the two features should give OVERLAPBDYINTERSECT as correct result.
The intersection geometries touch from inside - so the result with correct tolerance is wrong - why ?
    The geometries are:

  • Can I swap North American power plug on ipod charger for European one??

    Hi there.
My sister is taking her 5th Gen iPod to Russia from Canada (we use North American Standards for plug shape and 110 voltage, for US users interest).
I am curious if she can purchase (online or in Russia) an adapter for the prong portion (that can be removed) of the iPod power adapter to fit that region of the world.
The voltage portion (going from 110V to 220V) is taken care of by the power adapter itself.
I am assuming there is not an Apple store in Moscow (yet) but Heathrow Airport (on the way there) may have Apple products?
    Any thought would be great.
    Thanks.

Apple sell an international travel kit for the adapter but it's a bit pricey especially if you don't need a full set of plugs: Apple World Travel Kit

  • Ideas for features needed in new Conversational LDAP Accept

Mark, sorry should have given you this list months ago. My guess is you've already thought of all of these and more.
Everyone else, feel free to add to the list or tell me I'm nuts... or better yet ask what for.
    1) A good DHAP (directory harvest attack prevention) solution. I'm guessing this would be along the same lines as current post-conversation LDAP Accept. - completely obvious
    2) Sender Group specific settings, also like the current DHAP. This allows for different bounce/drop rates based on Sender Group or SRBS. Also the ability to Drop vs. Bounce based on Sender Group, not just a global setting.
    3) The ability to do conversational bounces based on the MAIL FROM: in addition to the RCPT TO:. This allows for conversational bounces for Internet inbound emails where the MAIL FROM: may be your own domain (spoofed).
    4) LDAP Accept still needs to be post HAT, Domain Map and RAT processing.
    5) Rates and counts added to the Mail Flow monitor stats, specifically: Invalid LDAP rates: Total, Bounce and Drop.
    6) LDAP lookup status, very much like DNS with cache hit/miss rates, number of lookups, etc. Also rates along with counts.
    7) Warnings when LDAP lookup timeout is exceeded, vs. server connection failures. Configurable LDAP lookup timeout.
    8) If connection to LDAP server fails or times out, emails are accepted by default.

    Erich,
This is all very good feedback. The vast majority of it will be included in the conversational LDAPACCEPT feature coming in a maintenance release in the short term.
There are a couple items that we'll have to get to in a later release:
    - Drop vs. bounce in the sender group. Good idea, beyond what we'll be able to do in this release. But you'll be able to enable/disable and set thresholds per sender group.
    - Conversational bounces on the Envelope Sender. This is coming in the Hard Rock release, planned for Q405.
    - LDAP lookup status will be in the Hard Rock release
Everything else looks to be in there.

  • Feature Request for Power Manager (Vista)

Disable Vista Aero when on battery (gives about ONE hour extra battery lfe!)
Disable Vista Sidebar when on Battery (frees A LOT of resources and causes much less CPU cycles)
Disable Vista Superfetch/Readyboost when on battery (Vista causes a lot HDD activity on Notebooks because it always re-caches after resuming from a standby state. This makes the laptop unresponsive after wakeup and drains the battery. Its not that bad when an SSD is used because access time is much lower.)
Disable that stupid bubble that informs about deactivation of internaloptical drive. Currently, this message is shown even if the option to deactivate the drive is actually disabled. Or at least hide the message after a few seconds!
Option to launch program (with parameter) when on battery or on ac (This could work around requests 1-3 but they still would be nice to have, especially Options 1-2 because they REALLY SAVE A LOT OF POWER!
Could someone from Lenovo PLEASE forward these requests to the developers? I think these are really great ideas.
Message Edited by VPN-User on 08-17-2008 06:50 PM

EDIT: Ah okay sorry now I got what you mean!
You mean Power MAnager needs quite some time to come up. Not only on boot, but also when trying to do something. Everything seems really slow: You click something and it needs 2-3 seconds to actually happen. Ad yes, bootup time is really worse with newest version of power manager. The battery status icon appears last on bootup and system is not really usable unitl then.
This app is completely bloated :-(.The features it provides neither really need so much cpu cycles nor that much RAM/resources and there is plenty of room for improvements. Same for Access Connections btw.! You press FN+F5 or F7 and for a few seconds nothing happens. This is really bad for a simple menu to pop up.

  • How do you disable the feature to 'keep iMessage conversations running between two devices'?

I have 2 apple devices- an iPhone 4 and an iPad 2. When I set my iPad up and set iMessage up set it offered me the option to keep iMessage conversations running between the two devices, and i pressed yes. I now cannot stand this feature because every time I recieve an iMessage, I get two alerts, one on each device. How do you disable it?

    Hi DeltaNomad,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
You can disable the Substitutions feature completely, or add words you frequently use to the substitutions list.  See this information from the Pages User Guide:
Replace text automatically - Pages Help for Mac
    http://help.apple.com/pages/mac/5.1/#/tanca15d8a79
When Text Replacement is turned on for the document, a checkmark appears next to Text Replacement in the Substitutions menu. You can deselect Text Replacement to turn it off, but existing text won’t change unless you select the text, and then follow the steps above.
Choose Edit > Substitutions > Show Substitutions (from the Edit menu at the top of your computer screen).
In the Substitutions window, select the Text Replacement checkbox, then click Text Preferences.
Click Text, click the plus sign, then type the text you want to replace (such as “teh”) in the Replace column.
Type the word you want to replace it with (such as “the”) in the With column.
Close the window when you’re done editing substitutions.
Click a button to replace all occurrences of the replacement text in the document, or only in the selected text.
    Cheers,
    - Judy

  • Using American Power cord in other country with different electric currency

    Hey,
during my stay in the U.S. as an exchange student I bought a MacBook in Septemper 2009. Now I will return home and I am wondering about the use of my power cord. The currency in America is 110V, in Germany we have 220V. My questions is now what I have to do with my power cord to not break the computer. Can I just use an adapter to make the American one fit in the German outlet? Should I buy a German cord or is that going to harm the computer?
    Thanks für your help
    Peggy

All you need is the adapter to allow the cord to plug into the outlet.
The power brick itself can handle either voltage without issue.
