OS X 10.8 installation paused. How to unpause.

I bought OS X 10.8 last fall. The installation paused. I could never get it to unpause. Now, I just want to buy a new copy and install, but App Store won't let me because it indicates (correctly) I already purchased. Help. How can I get a copy of OS X 10.8 to install so that I can upgrade to the latest version. So frustrated.

Appreciate your quick reply.
What worked for me was to hold down the option-command keys and click on the OS X Mountain Lion download icon.
Thanks!

    I lost my emac G4 installation disk, how can i get my admin password back?

    Here's one method to reset the password without the install disc:
    1. boot computer and hold the "apple" key and the "s" key.
    2. wait for terminal show
    3. release keys
    4. type without the quotes: "/sbin/mount -uaw"
    5. press enter
    6. type without the quotes: "rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
    7. press enter
    8. type without the quotes: "reboot"
    9. press enter
    This will let you create a new admin account when you reboot your computer.
    Also, without the discs, look at Mac OS X Tip - No Password, No Root, No CD? No Problem.

    Here is a way to get around not knowing the admin password on Macs.
    To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
       1. Reboot
       2. Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
       3. When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
              * mount -uw /
              * rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
              * shutdown -h now
       4. After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can simply delete the old one and you’re good to go again!

    I'm trying to download the trial version of Adobe Illustrator. An error message says that the OS does not meet the minimum system requirements for the installer. 10.6.0 is the minimum required for installation. How do I get my mac to be a 10.6.0 ? Right now I have a 10.5.8 is there a way to upgrade or something?

    Buy the Snow Leopard retail installer (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOA).
    That will take you to 10.6.3.
    If required you can then use the combo updater to get to the latest version, 10.6.8 (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399)

    Doublechecking. What's the filename of the installer you've been downloading? (The 32-bit installer is called iTunesSetup.exe, and the 64-bit installer is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)

    It would normally restart in to Windows but if you need to do it manually you can hold the Alt key as the chime sounds and then pick the Windows hard drive icon.

    You have a network issue.  I am assuming you are using WiFi?  Streaming video rarely works well over WiFi.  You will have a much better result use a wired connection.

    v14 says my droid2global is not compatible, but the beta installs fine, how come the official download wont install?

    Nope, it's still says it's not compatible with my device. This is from the Google Play Store in my desktop web browser, as well as Google Play Store Android app. I tried clearing the Play Store cache as well but it did not help.

  • HT1338 my updates are stuck on pause - how do i fix this?

    my updates are stuck on pause - how do I fix this problem?

    Hi, cagr1805.
    The following articles might help you get your updates resumed (they may need to be cancelled, then restarted rather than resumed):
    Mac App Store: Buy, download, and install apps
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11493
    Pause, resume, or cancel an app download
    To pause or resume a download in App Store, in the toolbar, click Purchases, find the app in the list, and then click Pause or Resume.During the download, the amount downloaded and estimated download time remaining are shown.While installing, the estimated time remaining is shown.
    To cancel a download in App Store, in the toolbar, click Purchases, find the app in the list, hold down the Option key, and then click Cancel.
    To pause or resume a download in Launchpad, click the app icon.
    To cancel a download in Launchpad, hold down the app icon until all the icons start to jiggle, and then click the app’s delete button (x).
    To cancel a download in the Finder, click the app's delete button (x).
    If a download is interrupted because you lose your Internet connection or quit App Store, App Store starts the download again when the Internet connection is restored or the next time you open App Store.
    To start downloading any apps you purchased but haven’t successfully downloaded, choose Store > “Check for Unfinished Downloads.”
    If that doesn't help, you might take a look at Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads.

  • BCA restarted Macbook Air but did not initiate Windows installer. How do I continue the installation?

    I have a Macbook Air mid 2013, about 2 weeks old. I ran BCA to the point that it restarted my Macbook Air but did not then initiate the Windows installer. How do I continue the installation? The instructions and tutorials I have found assume that the installer will start automatically after the reboot.
    BCA also gives the option to uninstall windows from the BCA screen when I launched it. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

    Try the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
