OS X - Audio Wave Form Disappears

OS X 10.10.2
Premiere v. 2014.2
In every project I start I notice that the audio wave form that displays in the timeline, after Premiere conforms the audio, disappears depending on where I have the scroll bar in the timeline. This only happens when I create a multicam clip with two or more cams. I can also pin-point when it happens. If I scroll to the end of the timeline that I placed the clip in as soon as the end of the clip enters the current timeline field of view the wave forms will disappear. I took a video to show exactly what happens.
I understand that I am going to have to submit a bug report, but I want to know if 1) anyone else is experiencing this or can reproduce it and 2) if there is a way to fix it. Right now the only workaround for me is to Render and Replace the audio for every multicam clip I make. When I do that the wave forms seems to display correctly, but I would rather not have to do that every time I use a multicam clip.
I figure if others experience this and we all submit a bug report the odds of it getting fixed will increase.

I'm going to bump this. Is anyone else even experiencing this or able to reproduce it?

  • View audio wave form in A1 and A2 etc in the timeline instead of the Viewer

It's likely this is an amateur question buuut -
Is there anyway to get the audio wave form to show in the Audio layers in the timeline. The only way I've seen to adjust and play with audio is when I double click on one of the tracks and then the audio tab in the viewer will open. I want to be able to see waveform in the timeline and then add or remove markers and adjust from the timeline -
There's got to be some way to adjust audio and play and stop so that you can watch the video and hear audio changes as you tweak it at the same time.

  • Can I get the audio wave form to show in the Timeline?

Can I get the audio wave form to show in the Timeline?
    Thanks / Christer

    Yes Christer.
At the bottom left corner , under the audio timelines you will see a tiny black triangle.
Click it and from the contextual menu that appears select "Show Audio Waveforms".

  • Making Audio wave forms larger in FCP

    Hiya,
I was just wondering if anyone knows a way of making audio wave forms in the timeline in larger or smaller? (without adjusting the size of the audio track itself).
Like you can in Avid by hitting ctrl-L / ctrl-k
I'm editing with some soft audio, where it would be helpful to be able to see the waveforms a bit more closely. I was told modify/audio/normalise might adjust the waveform inside the audio track, but it doesn't seem to...
    Cheers and thanks
    L

AH....that must be a feature of the newer MC and Adrenaline software, which I have little experience with. All these new features and nothing to say "hey, this is a GREAT new feature." And fellow editors don't let you know unless you ask "hey, how did you get your timeline to look like that?"
This is why I like the FCP community. As soon as we find something, we shout out "HEY, LOOK AT THIS COOL THING!"
Even FCP goes "Hey, look at this cool thing!" Avid? New features, and they are quiet about it. Avid doesn't tell people about new stuff.

  • Audio wave form not showing up properly in Viewer (FCP 7 running Lion)

For some reason when I bring in my audio timeline into the Viewer to see the wave form it does not show up accurately.  I used to be able to pull it up and fairly easily see each location we hit the clapper.  Now the clapper spike does not show up until I zoom almost all the way in on the wave form.  That's a TOTAL PAIN since you only see a few frames at a time.  Not good when you've got a couple of hours of audio on that time line with 30 or 40 clapper locations to find.  It's funny, it shows an actual flat spot until you ZOOM WAY IN on it, then you see the spike.  This seemed to start happening shortly after installing Lion.  I am not for sure that's what is happening, but has just never happened before.

  • Audio wave form in the viewer looks wrong

    hello everyone
i taped a live jazz event and i had two xlr cables running from one camera to the board
i now digitized and i am opening this clip in the viewer but it doesnt look like a normal
audio wave. peaks are showing from top and bottom. Maybee because it is 2 channels
i am trying to find a sync reference in the audio waveform of the 3 camera angles i have,
But i dont know why i do not see a normal curve. In the viewer i have Mono (a1) and Mono(a2)
both are not giving me a regular waveform
    any suggestions?
    thanks
    Danny

yes i think it is overmodulated
    levels were not set correctly
the camera was close to the stage and to the speakers
so the audio levels were not set correctly
i think my only option is to sync the 3 angles visually

  • Audio wave forms, etc in Timeline??

I checked these in user preferences and in one sequence they are great but do not appear in any of the other sequences. Cannot figure out how I am screwing up./
    Thanks
    John

The third button in the bottom left of the timeline with the keyframes turns it on. You can use the pen tool (p) to add the keyframes.

  • Wave forms in nested sequence?

    Hello,
is there a way to show the audio wave form in a nested sequence?
    Thx,
    Max

I don't think so. Nesting just puts all the layers into an easy to manage packet.
You could try double clicking the Nest so that it will open on its own Timeline, then do an audio mixdown. That should work, at least in theory.

  • Importing audio in Flash CC - No sound or wave forms

So I am having an issue when I try to import audio to the library. In the library the file name shows but when I click on it it shows no wave form. No audio will play when testing or on timeline. File works perfectly fine in CS6. I can copy it from the library in CS6 and paste it into CC's library and it works fine. Any ideas?

Just curious, do you have Quicktime installed and is it updated?
Are you on a 32bit or 64bit OS?
Only reason I ask is CS6 is 32bit and CC is 64bit.

  • Trying To Draw The Wav Form of captured audio

hi all , im trying to get into audio proccessing at j2me platform
as a start , i made an application that records audio through the phones microhone and after that drawing the bytearray with its wave form on the canvas.
i used the following capture encoding:
    "capture://audio?encoding=pcm&rate=8000&bits=8&channels=1"
the application worked great on the emulators...
after i tried the application on my mobile (motorola E-1000)
i realized that my mobile does not support PCM encoding as for audio capturing the device only supports AMR to capture audio :|
so my question what am i suppose to do to draw the WAveForm of the recorded audio if its stored in bytearray encoded as AMR??
do i need to convert it to wav?
    is there any other techinque?
any info will be highly welcome!
    thanks in advance.

Did u manage to draw waveform of amr file? I've the same task and i 've the same questions: "do i need to convert it to wav? is there any other techinque?"

  • No audio - audio tracks whited but wave forms there

I do not have the audio tracks disabled they are just white. I can see the wave forms but I get no sound when I play the sequence. How do I fix that? Rich

    Hi Richard.
Have you Muted the tracks? If there is no Mute and Headphone symbol to the left of the audio tracks click the tiny Loudspeaker icon at the very bottom left of the timeline window. Tiny Loudspeaker and headphone icons should appear. These icons are in addition to the normal green loudspeakers.
If the LS icon is yellow it is Muted so click it to deselect.
    Ian.

  • Audio waves disappeared

How do I get to see the audio waves in my sequence? They used to be there but have (through my negligence I'm sure) disappeared. Thanks for your time!

    Command-Option-W
    or
    Control-Option-W
    I forget which.
    Good luck,

  • Logic view of Audio waves

    Hi,
i have a couple of problems. 1. audio files do not show their wave forms all the time. If i move one of the files all the wave forms show up, as soon as i zoom into a file it looks blank and i can not see the shape of the wave form any more. I can play it, but i can not see it?
    2. My cursor/main marker, sorry not sure of the name. The locator marker, when you click on time bars or any position in the arrange window, the line will move around, but now it disappears as soon as i make any edits or move a track around, the only way to get it back and see it again is to save, close and reopen the track. I hope this is clear.
Thanks for any help you can give.

It may be that your disk is too full. How much GB is still free on your startup disk?
And in general it is a good idea to save all projects (songs) including their audio files/recording folder to a separate drive. It is not too hard, just copy the folder Logic inside the Users/'you'/Music folder in one go to another disk. Deletre the original folder after copying, and put and alias from the copy in the original location.
As for the overview refreshing: just do it on one file and see if it helps. But I think your problems have to doo with too full disks or too hard working CPU's or both.
    regards, Erik.
