OS X CS5 Illustrator and the rest of the unhappy family

Amazing !!!... after one day of CS5 Dreameaver started fine the first 2 times and now it crash on start up.
Illustrator worked fine yesterday until I quit it and now does not refresh is interface unless I click here and there.
Am I an isolate case or is the majority ?

I found the problem !.
I am developing a Panel plugin for Photoshop under OS X using Flash Builder.
In the CS_SDK_Guide.pdf documentation, at page 18 it reads:
"4. Change value for the key PlayerDebugMode to 1 to enable or to 0 to disable the debug mode."
to the file <user>/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.CSXS2Preferences.plist
This is suppose to trigger the debug mode, but apparently does nothing except crashing at least Dreamweaver and FireWorks. In Illustrator it just kills the refreshing. To Photoshop and Flash it does nothing, apparently.
I play with that added value to the .plist file and I can confirm that it is responsible to cause all that issues.
IF you are experiencing similar issues and you are not adding any additional flag or value to the com.adobe.CSXS2Preferences.plist file, then you need to find the cause somewhere else.. but if it is just for a specific logged user, the best guess is that you have some adobe related corrupted file in the <user>/Library/Preferences/ folder.

Hi Larry. I see. It is a file I have worked on previously, and the font is Myriad which I though came with the system. I just changed to Myriad Pro and the pink box disappeared. Thanks for the assistance, I know a new thing!

I have two PDF documents that show a sample business card in PDF.
One was apparently created through illustrator and is the focument for the printers ... it is this document that shows a completely different colour to the one that is in the other PDF that was apparently created in Acrobat. Though designers assure me that they are exactly the same patenone and that it's the software interpretting it.
What i dont understand is why the colours would look different using the software from the same company....and why designers would put up with this as a basic layman it just looks plain wrong to me.

Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion)
When I try to launch CS5 illustrator, sometime it is not responding. It also happen after I launched illustrator and I was just doing some basic design, change type and zoom in and out.
If I opened both CS5 illustrator and photoshop, while I was working on illustrator and when it start not responding, photoshop also become not responding and vice versa.
I hope this information is adequate for you and troubleshoot for me what's wrong with my mac.

First thing I would suggest is to upgrade your server OS to a newer version if possible. Secondly try removing the apps out of the allowable apps list and instead change it so that you allow the apps that are within the specific application folder, ex: Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS5
I had similar problems with CS5 apps and by adding the apps by allowable folder instead it corrected my problem. Granted, if you have savvy users, there is the potential to open a can of worms here but it was the only way I could get it to work for "standard" non-admin user types.

Hi Thanks a ton.. so I downloaded Sb from Cs5 download options
and it won't take the serial number, from the box. I bought Cs5
in 2010 in the box from adobe. It lists Sb5 on the back
of the box, and it's in line, and works fine.. paid about 1000 dollars
for the software. But, the downloaded exe file will not accept the
serial number. The same serial number in my account for Cs5
production premium suite. I guess the new cloud community doesn't
respond well to BOX installers or previous customers. Thanks a lot for
your effort but, at 40$ a phone call, I'll suffer through without the default
analog delay option.. everything else runs smooth so.. have a nice
day up there in the cloud.

CS5 (Illustrator and InDesign) randomly centers my workspace

When I'm zoomed in while working in Illustrator and InDesign, CS5 will arbitrarily center itself away from the area I'm working on. Sometimes it's on another page in the document, sometimes it's on the pasteboard. How do I make it stop?
I'm running 10.6.8 and using a bluetooth mouse (if that helps in any way).

You mean while you are allready zoomed in or while you zooming in? Because if you have something selected in InDesign, it will automatically center on that obcet the moment you start zooming.

Help! Saving a PDF out of Illustrator and the PDF is cropped on the right and bottom. Artboard size is fine.

We're having a weird issue with Illustrator that rarely can be replicated. When we're saving a file as a PDF, sometimes the PDF gets cropped to the right and bottom and we're not quite sure why it's happening. Sometimes we'll just go an open the Illustrator file again and re-save and it's fine. Other times we may need to re-start the computer or re-start Illustrator and it's fine. Other times when we do all of the above, it still crops the PDF. I'm baffled as to what's happening.
We're running 10.6.8 OS X and this is Illustrator CC.

This is in Illustrator CC Version 17. It is fine when you open them back in Illustrator. I have also noticed that from Illustrator if you do a 'Save As', select PDF, then select one of the PDF presets (I use 'Press Quality) the resulting PDF when opened in Reader displays how I want it, with the artwork as it was positioned on the Illustrator artboard (not cropped). If I then open in Illustrator again, make a change to the artwork, and select 'Save' (not 'Save As') when opened back in Reader the file is cropped again.

Illustrator can't open an Illustration, and the Offending operator is {eps_metadata_stream}, However, there's no context. Help?

At my office, we've been using Shutterstock to get images. Recently we got some images to use for badge templates, and I've mass edited them in Bridge so that they'll have similar keywords and naming conventions. Now however, when I try to open specific files, the error pops up here:
I assume that through deleting some keywords and adding new ones in bridge, I've messed up the files.
I've tried looking around some forums, but I can't find my specific error, especially with there being no listed context...
I use both Bridge and Illustrator CC 2014. The files in question are all .eps files. They are all vectors downloaded off of shutterstock, during a 30 day subscription.
At the office we use Windows 7 computers.
Can anyone help me out? As we've been stumped on this one for a few days.

One thing often tried first is to create a new document and File>Place the (PDF contents, if any, of the) corrupted one to see how much may be rescued that way.

I have Dreamweaver CS5.5 and the FTP will not work. Any Ideas?

Hello anyone out there. I just got off the phone with Adobe and they no longer support the product.
I keep getting this message:

I cannot connect to the server and I have checked everything with Godaddy and it is fine. I have checked with Apple and it is all fine and the cache is empty.

I'm guessing your site is not properly defined. See screenshots below from Site > Manage Sites.
Servers: Root Directory is whatever your hosting provider (GoDaddy) told you to use. This varies by web host. The most commonly used ones are html_docs, public_html or www.
Click the TEST button. If you're connected, Save and exit this panel. If you can't connect, click More Options:

I bought illustrator and the cloud won't download? Please help!!!

I have an iMac OS X and just bought the months usage for illustrator. When I go to download the software however, it makes me download Creative Cloud first but it won't do anything past the creative cloud installer load-up.
It will load up to the end and then nothing! Nothing pops up, and I still don't have Creative Cloud anywhere on my desktop.
I'm very confused and really need this program ASAP. Is there anyway I can skip the whole Creative cloud setup and just get this program right onto my computer?
