OS X keeps asking for application

Hello to you all, folks.
First of all, excuse me if I don't express my self properly, for English is not my first language.
I have a problem that's been bothering me repeatedly at least since Snow Leopard until now, with OS X Mavericks. I've been updating my OS on the same installation and with two different computers, a 1st gen MacBook and the iMac from late 2009 I'm writing this on. Once I even set up a fresh new installation of OS Mavericks, importing the settings from my Time Machine backup, and the problem persists.
Now and then, a window shows up asking me "Where is giro.app?" (image attached). Sometimes I spend several hours working on the computer without the window showing up, and then it appears every 5 minutes. I can't associate it with any particular application.
I usually just clic on "Cancel" and the window goes away, but it always returns. Once —I can't tell when, because this problem has been haunting me for years— I accidentally, or on purpose, selected an app, and then, from time to time, that app opened without notice. It was so annoying. With TM I was able to revert the situation to when it just asked me for the app -that is the state of things right now. I just can't make it go away, and I can't find a clue even inspecting Activity Monitor (it's most probably my fault: I'm not an expert or even novice computer professional).
The most frequently used applications on my iMac are Chrome for browsing the web (I don't use Mail.app, just Gmail on Chrome), LibreOffice, Gimp, Transmission (a Torrent client), Evernote and Apple apps like Garageband and Aperture. I don't play any games on the iMac.
In the Preferences, the only non-Apple panes I have installed are Connect 360 (for accesing the media on my Mac with an Xbox), Flash Player and the Logitech Control Center for a mouse.
Anybody has a similar problem? I would be really thankful if anyone can help me, for this is really driving me crazy.

Urgent help required - linked subreport keeps asking for parameter value

Greetings,
I have developed a report in the Crystal Reports bundled with Visual Studio 2005. The data is obtained from a stored procedure. One of the fields in the result set is named "Id".
I have embedded a subreport in the details row of the main report. The subreport also gets its information from a stored procedure. This stored procedure has one parameter named "OpportunityId". This field is linked to the field named "Id" above. the subreport has been set to supress blank subreports.
In the development environment and running the executable of the application on the development machine the report works perfectly. The subreport displays as it should and all is well.
When I deploy the report onto user machines where they have the crystal runtime installed, the report keeps asking for a parameter value for the subreport.
I cannot get this to stop happening.
This report is urgently required. PLEASE could someone help me out here.
I am at my wits end.
I have attached a zipe file containing the following:
- the two stored procedure
- the rpt file
- a sample report
- a screen showing the report having just been generated

I am trying to put my ipad back to factory settings and it keeps asking for my original Id which is the reason I am needing to reset it. When I try to do this via password prompts it asks for my date of birth which I enter correctly and it tells me it is incorrect and then trying the email route this does not send any emails to the registered accounts I set up originally - help!!

My guess is all the issues are probably related and fall back to malware.
AVG is probably correct in identifying malware. So I suggest you try some cleaning tools other than Emsisoft .
ones I use (all of them one after the other until I find one that can cope) are;

So first create a clean boot in Windows using Microsoft's instructions https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135?wa=wsignin1.0 and then run the anti malware applications.
My outside looking in guess is that malware has set itself up as an internet proxy and is is downloading copies of itself and other malware, blocking some mail port as times as downloading more malware is more important, and probably breaking your tivo as well..
Try the malware programs first. If that does not work I will try and talk you through some logging to see what is happening.

No, iLIfe is a suite of applications: iMovie, iPhoto and GarageBand (earlier versions of the suite also contained iDVD ad iWeb).

Mail keeps asking for password, over and over and over again. How to fix?

How do I stop this behavior of Mail?
I tried disableing my account and resetting it up, but it won't let me do that either. I use Mac OS 10.6.8.

OK. When you say that Mail doesn’t save the password, are you basing this solely on the fact that Mail keeps asking for it? Or is there something else that makes you believe Mail doesn’t save the password?
Open /Applications/Utilities/Keychain Access, choose Keychain First Aid from the application menu, and proceed to repair the keychain. If that doesn’t work, try removing the password entry from the keychain and let Mail create it again the next time it asks for it.

Pages keeps asking for registration code. Help!!

I had downloaded a 30 day free trial of Pages before I actually bought it and now that I bought it, it keeps asking for a registration number but I don't have one since I bought it off the Mac app store. I cant save any documents or anything! Can someone help me???

Have you deleted the old Pages copy you downloaded? If not, open Finder, go to Applications folder and do it. Also, delete the Pages copy you downloaded from the App Store. Then, open Terminal (in /Applications/Utilities) and type:
sudo rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iWork.Pages.plist
Finally, open the App Store, go to Purchases tab and download Pages again

Me too.
It is asking me for my iTunes password too often.
I would be okay with it _if it was just for when I hit UPDATE for an application, or buy a new one_... but it seems like it's constantly asking for my iTunes password.
+I'm not worried about somebody ringing up a bill, If my phone is lost, I can just call Apple and have them remote wipe the phone and adjust my account.+

Aperture keeps asking for my name and serial number

Aperture keeps asking for my name and serial number, but only on one of my Macs. This is a new Mac that I restored from my old Mac. It made sense to have to put in the documentation the first time, but the program keeps asking for it. Any thoughts?

Be sure to enter the serial number, when you are logged in from an account with Administrator priveleges - otherwise the serial number cannot be stored.
Aperture is installed for all users on your mac, so the serial number is written to the system library, not the user library; this requires read/write access for administrators. Do you enter your serial number using an administrator account?
SInce you migrated your system from another mac, you still may have an older ProAppSystemID file or Aperture cannot write to the System Library.
To stop Aperture asking for the serial number, first check, if you still have an old file "ProAppsSystemID" in your System Library.
Quit Aperture.
Go to your MacintoshHD and open the folder "Library", then "Application Support", then "ProApps".
Remove the File "ProAppsSystemID" to the Desktop, if it exist and restart Aperture.
Reenter your serial number, hopefully for the last time.
Sometimes Aperture writes this file to a temporary directory, when it cannot write to the Library. If the above does not work, look at the temporary directory /tmp
Use the Finder's "Go" menu
Go > Got to folder and enter /tmp into the textfield. If you see ProAppsSystemID there, move it to its proper location in /Library/Application Support/ProApps.
Aperture must be running, and you will have to wait a few minutes to be seeing the file appearing the /tmp directory.

Keychain keeps asking for my password

Hi,
I downloaded a twitter application Natsulion, and keychain access keeps asking for my password. I tried looking in keychain access application for where the password is stored but I don't see it in there. I tried doing keychain first aid but that didn't fix the problem.
I'm having this problem in other applications too.

we're having the same problem. Having to re-authorize Aperture every time it launches. Not just Aperture but ALL programs with accounts (ie iTunes, Photoshop...)

The application keeps asking for each file whether it should allow reading it. Is it possible that this permission has to be granted only once?This seem to be possible only for signed MIDlets, although I am not completely sure.

As far as I understand, policy allows Session and Blanket *) user settings for this group only if the MIDlet is signed.
It looks like one can perform "trial signing" with WTK to test on emulator how real device would behave with real signed MIDlet. Finder keeps asking for password verification

Finder keeps asking for password verification when I ask to move or delete a file.
How can I stop this from happening?

Repairing the permissions of a home folder in Lion is a complicated procedure. I don’t know of a simpler one that always works.
Launch the Terminal application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. If that doesn’t work, then in the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
Drag or copy – do not type – the following line into the Terminal window, then press return:
chmod -R -N ~
You may see a few error messages about an “invalid argument” while the command is running. You can ignore those. If you get an error message with the words “Permission denied,” enter this:
sudo !!
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up.
Next, boot from your recovery partition by holding down the key combination command-R at startup. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
When the recovery desktop appears, select Utilities ▹ Terminal from the menu bar.
In the Terminal window, enter “resetpassword” (without the quotes) and press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select  ▹ Restart from the menu bar.

Creative Suite 6 Design Standard (for Mac) keeps asking for the Serial Number ... over and over!

My iMac has a well-installed Creative Suite 6 Design Standard. I have a valid serial (purchased it) and it works fine. Every couple of months though the Adobe Application Manager pops up and asks me wether I want to continue the test-period or if I am willing to enter the serial number. So I dig into my papers and get the serial number out ... it is accepted every time and works fine then. But after some time - there we go again: I have to enter the number.
I faced this issue a while ago and read that it was recommended to update the Application Manger - which I did. But ... still being bothered by these kinds of questions from time to time.
What can I do?

SharePoint keep asking for password

I have few users who add sharepoint site to Outlook client. When they tried to access sharepoint site thru outlook, it keeping prompt for credential, even though
they key in correct username and password.
User's PC running on WindowsXP and Outlook 2007. PC joined to the domain
I had been read many link on internet which telling to add to trusted site but none is working.

I have an user who follow steps mentioned on above link but still outlook keep prompt for password.
User have full access on SharePoint site but when they click on Send and Receive, they receive outlook sync error as attachment. I believe this error due to the

There's also a "quit" in the menubar. Once it's not active you can delete it.

One more time, iCloud mail accounts are .me, .mac and .icloud. New ones are only .icloud.
iCloud mail is a standard Imap account that can be used with any mail client in existence. But You are talking about the ability to automatically setup an iCloud account in mail, which did not exist until 10.7.2.
You can use password or token authentification with iCloud mail (in Mail) it is your choice.
Set the account manually, set it as Imap, use imap.mail.me.com (no P number) for the incoming email and smtp.mail.me.com as the outgoing server.
The full settings (ports and security) are here. Use them and it will work, regardless of domain (mac, me and icloud addresses all use the same settings.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:

SSL Required: Yes
Port: 993
Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
