OS X Lion 10.8.4 - Admin Password

Hi,
After the last OS X 10.8.4 update (maybe this is only a coincidence), i cannot log / use my account (admin).
I've tried many times with all varitions possible, and in all cases it's wrong...
what can i do to resolve this?

First, make sure caps lock is not on.
You must back up all data before continuing, unless you've already done so. If you need to back up but can't log in, ask for instructions.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
Otherwise*, boot into Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. In the Terminal window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens.
Select your boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
Select
 ▹ Restart
from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but your Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as your login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead the instructions on this page:

I'd think you have a Keychain problem (Keychain storing passwords and the likes).
When you are being asked, are you offered the checkbox, "Remember this password in my Keychain"? If so, check and see if it stops asking.

HOW DO I LOAD MAC OS LION ONTO AN OLDER iMAC (2010) WITHOUT THE ADMIN PASSWORD.

I purchased MAC OS LION (version 1.0.4) (multi user) from APPLE about 4 months ago. The OS LION came on a thumb drive that is used to load it on multiple computers instead of having to down loading it off the APPLE website. I have only loaded one version of LION onto one computer so far.
I want to load the LION on a used iMAC(about 2-years old) I recently purchased but can't because I don't have the previous owners ADMIN password.
I don't have the original disc that came with the iMAC either. The OS currently on the iMAC is Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I do not care about any data that the previous owner had on the hard drive which isn't much so I would be glad to install MAC OS LION from scratch and erase/reformat the hard drive. Doing this I presume I can then create my own Admin password .
I believe there is a procedure where you hold down certain keys at startup which will allow you to clear the HD and install the new OS but I am unaware of the key sequence. Nor am I sure if this will work with the THUMBRIVEn or if you need an actual disc.
If anyone can give me direction on how I can load the OS LION from the thumb drive when I start the computer up so I can reformat/erase the HD I would greatly appreciate it.

If the password you are talking about is the EFI boot password the only way to bypass and or remove it is to take the system to Apple.
If it is a User Log On password then just boot the computer from that thumb drive open Disk Utility and Re-Partition the internal drive as ONE partition. then exit out of DU and select Reinstall Mac OS X.
Once that is done it will boot to a fresh clean install of Lion ready to be setup with new user account and password.

How do you reset an admin password on a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion?

I forgot the admin password on my mac and I tried resetting it using the command+r technique at startup however a lock symbol appeared which requires a password to access.
Does anyone know how to reset the password without using a startup disc?

and when i logged into the support communities , i've found some codes to write ; like
typing /sbin/fsck -fy

and that were written to be entered after loging in with the single user mode ( as described ) by pressing the "command" key with the "s" key
but the result were that i've lost the access unto the both standard accounts
please help i need to enter into my system i need to finish out my work urgently i dont have another computer

There are several ways to back up a Mac that is unable to fully boot. You need an external hard drive to hold the backup data.
1. Boot from your recovery partition (10.7 or later), a local Time Machine backup volume (10.7.2 or later), or your installation disc (10.6.8 or earlier.) Restart with the Mac OS X 10.6 DVD in the drive or with the Lion USB drive connected, hold down the Option key just after the restart, tab to the installation disk, and press Enter. If the computer has a firmware password set, it needs to be provided for this to work.

Forget Admin Password In Lion - Help!!!

I forgot my Admin Password... To reset it I was instructed to hold Command & "R" keys at the boot chime. Sometimes I can get into the utilities menu and sometimes I can't. Is there some trick to accessing the recovery mode? Am I holding down the keys to far before or after the chime? Or maybe during the boot chime? It's really annoying when I have to boot multiple times and still can't get the menu to come up. I know it worked before but blasted I can't get the menu to come up now.

Zap the PRAM and Reset the SMC; then, restart holding down the COMMAND and the R keys until you get something on the screen. From there follow the instructions to reset your password. Once done, engrave it onto your eyeballs so you don't do that again.

Server.app 2.2 working for months will not recognize admin password. My internet connection went down, when I was abe to recover the connection my admin password no longer worked to open server.app. I checked the keychain and found "Mac OS X Server Administration: My Domain Name" the password save there it the same as the on I was entering. In even tryed to copy and paste, but ths Server.app rejects it. How do I get access to Server.app again?

Unable to install "Mavericks" as it asks for my 'Admin Password" and it does not work. Have not used it since I got my iMac in 2008. First upgrade to do so. Any solutions please?

I have a 2008 iMac which had Leopard initially and I have upgraded to each new OS without a hitch. I downloaded "Mavericks" and began the install, it asked me for my "Admin Password" which I have never ever used since I set the Mac up, I have it safely tucked away so entered it, it rejected it each time. Am sort of lost now, as if my "Admin P/W" does not work here can I go from here?
I have seen many others with this problem but so far most of the solutions seem to be for the "log in" or "User" password not the Admin one.
I am running Mountain Lion successfully.
I have my original disks as supplied and also a Snow Leopard install disk.
I have seen some info about fixing this via Lion Recovery partition which I must have due to using Mt Lion.
How can I repair this situation.

I have visited both the sites you listed but it seems to me that the solutions mentioned are to fix the User or log in p/w's.They do not seem to refer to the admin one again.
I understand about it being just like other user accts but the fixes do not really refer to it only the above two.
I have no problem booting up my Mac, I do not use a log in p/w so my problem is with the Admin p/w that was set up back in 2008. This is what I need to reset etc.
I am quite confused over these pw's as to just what is what and I need to make sure I understand all before I get into deeper trouble following these links.
This Admin p/w that was set up has never been used and is the only p/w I have except for my Apple ID. All previous upgrades only required my user name log in which has no p/w set up.

I can't log in at all now as I've forgotten my admin password. A few weeks ago I also changed the password on my husband's new MacBook Pro and again forgot the password. I spoke to someone at Apple and they helped me to reset it within minutes, by restarting the computer holding Command+something else (I can't remember what it was). A black screen with writing came up and I had to type in something like "password" (not sure exactly). Anyway, this was a very quick and efficient process but I didn't write it down unfortunately. Admin password won't work to install software

I'm trying to install Photoshop and when it gets to the point where it asks for the password, I enter it but the password box just disappears for a second and returns asking for the password again. (I entered it several times with the same result each time.) I'm certain that I'm entering a valid admin password and that permissions for the applications folder are set to read & write for admin and system. Just to be sure I tried entering the password incorrectly and the box shook as it normally would when an incorrect password is entered. Has anyone had a similar problem with Adobe products or installing any other software on Lion?
Also, I just installed Adobe Lightroom last night and it worked just fine. And when I just tried to run the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool which also asks for a password and I'm having the same problem. So I know that it's not just Photoshop but I don't know if it's just something to do with Adobe or maybe all software which requires an admin password to install.
Trying to repair permissions and run a virus scan now although I think these two options are unlikely to fix the issue...

It looks like repairing permissions did the trick.
