OS X Lion Bridge CS6 keeps freezing up

Upon entering certain folders Bridge will freeze up. There is nothing I know of in these folders to cause this kind of reaction. Sometimes if I leave it long enough it will enter the folder, then that folder works. If I force quit then bridge will freeze again and again every time I go to that folder. If it ever sorts it out it will be fine but otherwise no go. Nothing fancy in these folders other then some small jpgs.
I've cleared caches and repaired permissions.

This can be caused by a number of things. One of the easiest to test is external javascript files.
If you have any javascripts that are pointing to someone else's server, you can add a comment around them and see if that fixes the issue. It's always best to have a local copy of those files within your site vs relying on someons else's server to be up and running to make your site function.

If you don't have links to .js files similar to what I've explained, you can validate your code here: http://validator.w3.org/ and repair any errors
Invalid code can definitely cause some strange issues in DW.
If you don't have external links as explained and your code validates (or you fix all errors and still have the issue), there may be something else in the source causing problems. If you could post a link to an offending page online, we would be able to take a better look.

Adobe After Effects CS6 Keeps freezing and crashing.

Hey ive been having this problem where AE CS6 keeps freezing for about 2-3 minutes and it happends many times, also many times it crashes the whole program and after that it wont open CS6 before i restart the whole computer, it worked fine for me before last month it started crashing and freezing?

I'm using a 2009 Macbook Pro and have installed the lastest update 10.8.1

I've been seeing this for some time now and getting quite sick of it. It happens when I've been away at work for the day and come home to find frozen notifications.
You can fix this temporarily by quitting Notification Centre from Activity Monitor but it keeps happening to me every week or so.

Adobe Bridge CS6 keeps zooming into previews

Hi guys. I'm using Adobe Bridge CS6 to browse some media content, but each time I preview a video, it plays zoomed in about 20% or so. It does this for all video clips, all sizes, no matter how I try to reconfigure the layout, use OUTPUT mode, FILMSTRIP mode, ESSENTIALS etc, it still shows zoomed in.
I'm running Win7 64bit with a GTX570 with updated drivers.

You mean 200 % instead of 20 %??
Use the loupe on an image and check what the default zoom percentage is, it should show 100 % and if it is at 200 % you have to use your mouse scroll wheel to set it back to 100 % (it runs from 100 % to 200, 400 and 800 %).
If your video files exceed the preview window you have to enlarge this window or if the behavior keeps this way consider to reset the preferences of Bridge holding down control key while restarting Bridge and choose reset prefs.

Bridge CS6 keeps crashing on my macbook pro

I have been getting help from adobe support all day regarding this problem. Bride CS6 keeps crashing as soon as I open it....It worked perfectly up until this afternoon. I have latest OS X update, I uninstalled and reinstalled it. I also cleared the cache, and disabled startup scripts..nothing seems to be working..I can have it open maybe 10 seconds before it crashes. I am in the middle of editing wedding photos, and I am beyond frustrated that I am unable to work in Bridge. Someone that had similar problems, any suggestions?

I have the same problem with the Bridge on my MBPr, please let me now here if you have solved the problem. I cannot even open Camera RAW from Bridge. It crashes as well after my trying to open Camera RAW from Bridge. This problem occurred since last update I think.

Photoshop CS6 keeps freezing when I work with large files

I've had problems with Photoshop CS6 freezing on me and giving me RAM and Scratch Disk alerts/warnings ever since I upgraded to Windows 8. This usually only happens when I work with large files, however once I work with a large file, I can't seem to work with any file at all that day. Today however I have received my first error in which Photoshop says that it has stopped working. Trying to update to Lion and computer keeps freezing.

I have purchased Lion and it has "downloaded" but when I press the icon so I can actually follow through on the change-over, I get a rainbow wheel which after a few seconds freezes (the whole screen freezes). I have to hold the power in order to shut it down; not sure what to do. Any help would be nice, many thanks!

Before trying to install Lion with the installer, it would be a good idea to navigate to Disk Utility and repair your boot drive. Repair the drive until there is nothing left to repair. Also check that SMART is verified.
If there are errors that Disk Utility cannot repair, you will need to address these before installing Lion. A stronger utility like Disk warrior may be able to repair them, or possibly you may want to replace your hard drive if it has started to go south.
It's always a good idea to immediately repair your drive if you have had to force quit.
It's just a guess, but I suspect there is something about your hard drive that Lion doesn't like, and this is why you are getting the freeze.

Who does CS6 keep freezing the export at 100% for a long project?

I have a timeline with about 38 smaller H.264 files butted against each other - no missing video at all - no black frames. (I did it this way so all the effects , etc., have been rendered out already into a separate file so as not to disturb the long render of the whole film.) After I wait close to two hours, (lots of ram,) it freezes at 100% and that's it folks. Sometimes it says there's :14 seconds left to go, 100% rendered, and still freezes. I don't mean for a few minutes - I mean until the coming apocalypse. I noticed when I had clips at 5-10 minutes that it still froze - maybe for a few minutes - and then the file was complete with audio/video combined into the MP4.
Now I know I can bring in separate clips into Encore from the get go, let Encore handle everything in one timeline and hopefully successfully burn to disc. But - when the time comes to sell this to a buyer, they'll no doubt want ONE long video file as a deliverable - not a collection of clips they have to reassemble for whatever reason. I don't want to go to a large post production facility with 38 video clips and the separate audio files (they exist in one piece from an audio house,) and pay them who know how much an hour to do the export and burn for me.
I have emptied the media cache, tried taking it from a 93 minute video to a chunk of 35 minutes, but still it freezes. I have tried this in CS6 and the CC version since I subscribe to the Suite. I'm trying an 18 minute clip now. If that works I'd be bringing in 5 clips or so into Encore and then lay in my audio which exists in one piece - and God willing the thing won't burn me a video where the audio/video is off by even a frame - so that scares me a lot. Exporting for Encore is not my issue - it's making a 93 minute 1920x1080 H.264 video file I can hand over to someone. And this isn't even a BluRay setting! I still have to make that successfully!

Sounds like you have a very weak signal. I'd set away from PrPro and handle this in SB, or Audition. Listen carefully with a good pair of noise-canceling headphones first, and then test on monitors.
Are you working in mono, stereo or 5.1 SS?

Bridge CC keeps freezing up after a few minutes

I have never experienced this before but when I start using Bridge, the memory slowly declines until no memory is available. It is locking up on me and then I have to reboot it.
I held down the Option Key and restarted Bridge and purged the cache files but I am still having problems.
I am using a Macbook Pro with 8 gigs of RAM.
Mavericks was recently added to this computer so I don't know if this is the problem or not.
It is a new issue and I wonder if someone has a solution.

The purpose for asking about both disk size and free space is to determine the percentage of the free space. In case of an SSD forget about it but in case of a HDD rethink this because for correct functioning you need at least 10 to 15 % free space as the bare minimum.
120 GB may sound a lot but in fact when using a 1 TB disk this is only about 12 % free. In case of a 2 TB disk you are really in trouble for accurate usage of power consuming apps like PS and Bridge.
And in case of having a high amount of fragmentation means a lot of work to find space for writing data on the disk. OSX has its own defragmentation running automatically but that is only affecting files smaller then 20 MB, all sizes above can get scattered around the disk and causing slow down operation and serious problems when there is not enough free space.

Bridge CS6 keeps 'quitting unexpectedly'.

Hi All, since installing PS6 I have not been able to use Bridge as it 'quits unexectedly'. I have clicked the 'send to apple' tab but had no response. Any suggestions how to amend this? Thanks in advance.

Try first aid. Hold down Option key and start Bridge. You should get a reset window with 3 options.

Bridge CS6 for Mac keeps freezing!!

I find that Bridge CS6 keeps freezing and the only way to fix it is to relaunch it or close the window you're working in. It doesn't seem to affect all windows but only the current window.

First go to the triangle top right next to workspace names and choose reset workspace.
If still problems try a reset preferences holding down option key while restarting Bridge and choose reset preferences. If this does not help then please provide more detail about exact versions of Bridge, MacOsX, computer and hardware details (RAM, free disc space etc.)

Lion keeps freezing

after doing my firmware update, my brand new iMac (Lion 10.7) keeps freezing up and I have to hold the power button to restart it. Is anyone else having this problem or did I get a messed up computer?

Seriously glad it isn't just my one year old Macbook Pro that is having the problems after going from Snow Leopard to Lion. I took mine to Apple twice now, they basically think I'm stupid and even asked me if I'd dropped it!! They don't seem to recognise the problems, after a 'stress test' and some other things they sent me on my way. I was back within a week getting the entire thing wiped and reinstalling Lion - I am back to where I started with a very unhappy computer. It crashes on startup, on the log-in page and has to be manually turned off and on several times before it'll even let me on the thing. It can crash whilst simply opening Finder or when I only have Safari open. Back to the genius bar for me....

Bridge CS6 crashes on opening

Bridge CS6 keeps on crashing on opening. It says "Building criteria" then shows me the rainbow disk, forever and ever until I have to force quit.
I have deleted the cache folder in the User/library/adobe/Bridge/Caches and also the files ending in .plist in Preferences. I have opened it again while holding the option key, and reset all of the settings, several times, but nothing changes. I have lost my original dmg file and so I cant reinstall. I'm on Maverick and it has worked fine for 10 months before this started happening. I don't use it for anything other than looking through my files/photos and loading several into one document in photoshop.
What else can I do? THanks!

Bridge CS6 crashes with double-click, not with "open with"

Bridge cs6 keeps crashing whenever I double click on a file (jpg/psd/raw files).
After reading on this forum I couldn't find anything that worked for me.
The strange thing is, when I select a file right click open with photoshop CS6 (default) the file opens without any problem in Photoshop.
I have my default file associations of all (image) files set to photoshop CS6.
Any Ideas what can be the problem?
(windows 7 Ultimate and I have double-click edits camera raw setting in bridge marked off, and bridge crashes too when it is marked on)
