OS X Lion conflicting with Outlook tasks

I have just updated my Mac to Lion and i got some sort of error. It tells me that my 192 Outlook tasks "conflicted" and asked me to try and move them to iCal. I got some of the tasks but not all of them.
How can I get my 192 "conflicted" tasks restored?
Thanks,
Jesper

Which year's version of Outlook are you using? You didn't say.  The Office for Mac 2004 version of Outlook is Not compatible with Lion for instance.
Hope this helps

  • 'Sync conflicts' with Outlook after upgrading to iTunes 7.4

Since upgrading to iTunes 7.4 2 days ago I now receive a 'sync conflict' error with entries on Outlook calendar when syncing the iPhone. It allows me to view each conflict but I cannot see any differences between the entries that are apparently conflicting.
I can continue and all seems fine, but it happens every time I sync.
    Has anyone else seen this?
    Thanks
    Rixta

It is possible to get iTunes 7.4 working with Outlook 2002, in spite of Apple saying that they don't support it. I posted it as Solution to Syncing with Outlook XP (Outlook 2002.)
Just save the following file from your current installation of iTunes 7.3 (you can copy and paste it to your Windows desktop):
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\SyncServices\Clients\com.apple.Outlook\Contents\Windows\
    com.apple.Outlook
Then be sure you have a current backup of your Outlook.pst file.
Upgrade to iTunes 7.4.3.1, and connect the iPhone. Open the Info tab in iTunes, and check the boxes and use the pull down menus to select Outlook for contacts, calendar and mail. You should then have no problem syncing to the iPhone.
Too bad about the loss of the music you purchased, I would suggest you call Apple and have them give you a credit, as they created the loss through their either accidental or intentional modification of iTunes (actually Apple Mobile Device Support.)

  • Sync iPhone 4 with Outlook Tasks

Is there any way to Sync Microsoft Outlook Tasks with the iPhone through iTunes?  I see apps to sync using some kind of Cloud storage, but I just want the Tasks to sinc like Calendar and Notes do.

For email, available with an Exchange or IMAP account only, not with a POP account.
All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange or IMAP account are kept synchronized with the server with each email client used to access the account.
Although it is possible to access a POP account with more than one email client, a POP account is designed to be accessed with a single email client only.

  • IPhone Email running in Conflict with Outlook 2007

the problem started the day after i synced the iphone for the first time and updated to the latest software upgrade.
I get a message in outlook when the iphone is attempting to access email that i cannot send or receive email on the desktop because another device is accessing the email account.
the problem occurs that some emails arrive on the iphone and some arrive on my desktop in outlook. it appears that iphone is attempting to intercept emails. while most emails arrive on the desktop, the iphone only receives some. sometimes the emails arrive in both places and other times only one place.
originally the i set up the email manually duplicating the pop3 and smtp server settings. email worked for three weeks. then i synced and the outgoing mail would not work. i resolved the problem by setting the password and user in the primary smtp outgoing server. Then the pop3 incoming server could not connect.
after reloading the email account all seemed to be working.
this latest problem appears that the iphone and outlook 2007 are in conflict with no winner to be set.
    my ISP is ATT.

This is a problem with a POP account when accessing the account with more than one email client.
Although it is possible to access a POP account with more than one email client, a POP account is designed to be accessed with one email client only.
When accessing a POP account with more than one email client, only one email client at a time can check the incoming mail server for new messages and/or download new messages received at the incoming mail server. When a 2nd email client attempts to do this while another email client is doing the same, the 2nd email client will be temporarily blocked by the incoming mail server. This has nothing to do with transferring the account settings from your computer via the iTunes sync process.
Not a problem with an IMAP account which is specifically designed to be accessed with more than one email client.

  • Conflict with Outlook 2007: "Outlook did not close properly"

I started getting this message "Outlook did not close properly" with the last update of I-Tunes. I searched the web and tried everything (e.g., SCANPST, etc. etc.) and even called Microsoft and created a new profile. It immediately started again.
Then, when I disabled the I-tunes add-in in Outlook, the message stopped, and stayed stopped. It looks like there's a conflict there. The problem is that I-tunes won't run without that Outlook Add-in being turned on. So it's either Outlook or I-tunes. Why should it be either / or?
I would appreciate any suggestions to let the two apps peacefully coexist.

Having the same problem. It would be nice to have a resolution.

  • New update conflicts with Outlook

New Flash update download notification this morning. Downloaded and restarted and Outlook didn't work. Did system restore and Outlook worked fine again. Did nothing between the two steps. Using Window Vista Home premium and Outlook 2007

Hi V, not sure what could have happened. Did you Reboot after the Install? Check to make sure Shockwave Flash Object is enabled in the add ons.
Has Microsoft issued an Outlook update, perhaps on their last patch Tuesday? I don't use Outlook, but from many forums, it appears to be causing some problems. Sometimes when I update Windows I do see Microsoft Office and Outlook updates as well. Might be something to check out.  Other wise I don't know.
Perhaps other users that use Outlook will respond with more info for you.
    Thanks,

  • ITunes conflicts with Outlook

Okay, here are the problems. If I have iTunes and Outlook open at the same time and try to perform any action in Outlook, Outlook freezes. After this happens, even if I close both programs and re-open only Outlook, it won't function. The only way to get it to work again is to restart the computer.
Also, whenever this happens, iTunes will not open a second time during one session--no error message, nothing. I double-click it, get an hourglass for a second, and it just doesn't open.
Any ideas as to what's going on?
    Thanks.

Weird, those 2 should work together OK. Do you have an iPhone or regular iPod?
Maybe have a look at this article and see if there are any Outlook plugins you can disable (just as a test, to see if the problem still happens).
    It's under the section,
    Disable third-party Outlook add-ins
Did they ever work together correctly, or has this always happened on this PC?

  • How the heck do I sync outlook tasks with reminders on iPhone 5c using USB?  Not at all interested in any over the air methods

Trying to sync my new iPhone 5c with outlook tasks using the USB connection and can't find any method to do this.  Due to data security I am not interested in sync'ing using any over the air method such as exchange server or iCloud.  Updated from a Blackberry to iPhone due to many recommendations but this apparent non-functionality by Apple is a major disappointment and a significant lack of capability.  Any help appriciated.

Windows still allows syncing over USB:

  • Apple says  Reminders works with Outlook, but I can't find where the lists are displayed in Office or Outlook  once they are synced.

Apple says  Reminders works with Outlook, but I can't find where the lists are displayed in Office or Outlook  once they are synced. Any suggestions?

I'll guess you've already discovered the answer to this, but just in case:
Reminders works with Outlook tasks by syncing with iCloud, or through Exchange. You can't sync iOS Reminders with Outlook Tasks via USB/iTunes (like you can do with Notes, Calendar, Contacts).
So the marketing material on Reminders is a little misleading in that it's not specific enough -- there is no syncing without one of those intermediary systems mentioned above.
On a side note, syncing Tasks/Reminders via iCloud is not very good in my opinion:
Requires that you sync to the cloud, even if you have no other use for storing personal data in the cloud.
Requires that the iCloud Control Panel be installed on your PC (not sure about Mac).
After syncing, you'll find new Calendar and Task groups called "iCloud" have been created in Outlook. The calendar groups appear to be created even if you're only syncing Tasks/Remminders (not sure why).
Reminders are stored in the new group (noted above) called "iCloud" rather than in your default Tasks group. This seems to me to be a sort of "parallel" sync, rather than a true sync with Outlook. There are oter implications of your synced tasks being in the new group that I won't go into here, but you can search the interwebs to learn more.
In my own case, I tried iCloud syncing, decided that I didn't like it for the reasons stated above, and then uninstalled (Control Panel and new Outlook groups) with no apparent ill effects.
Though I don't guarantee you'll have the same results, it might be worth a try to see if it suits your purposes.

  • Outlook Task List on iPhone???

Is there a good task list manager app available that can sync with Outlook's task list? Will it sync with Outlook task lists on multiple PCs?

Strange as it sounds, I have yet to find an App that will simply sync with Outlook Notes or Tasks. The native Notes program on iPhone is very limited, it will sync Notes from Outlook but has no flexibility for organizing notes and I do not see how to edit the notes on the phone, it basically transfers Notes from Outlook and puts them in date order. Programs that claim to give more functionality for Notes or Tasks want to sync through a website, doesn't sound very secure and seems unnecessarily cumbersome.

Of course I can't throw it away since I get a message it's part of the sytem. I can show package contents and throw those away, but evidently not a good idea!!

  • Error enabling "Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks with Outlook" in iCloud 3.0  Control Panel

Unable to enable option “Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Tasks with Outlook” under iCloud 3.0  Control Panel.
Get following error when clicking checkbox to enable it under iCloud 3.0 Control Panel.
"Setup can't continue because Outlook isn't configured to have a default profile. Check your Outlook settings and try again."
    Have tried the following:
Uninstalled / reinstalled iCloud 3.0 control panel
Removed all mail accounts from Outlook 2013 except MS account
Confirmed Outlook was chosen for  “Always uses this profile” under Control Panel – Mail (MicroSoft Outlook 2013) – show profiles
Still get the same error when trying to enable the option under iCloud 3.0 Control Panel
PC is running Windows 8.1 (64 bit)
Outlook 2013 was just installed on the PC as part of new Office 2013 installation

    Two more things:
First, sorry for the bad spelling, grammar, and all of that. English isn't my first language and I'm so frustrated at this point I'm not paying any attention to it. Sorry!
Second, after trying to repair again the icloud 3.0 through the Control Panel of Windows, guess what? It made Offce to crash again! Now I will have to install it again.

  • How can I sync my Microsoft Outlook tasks with my Ipad reminders? I dont want to use Icloud or an exchange

How can I sync my Microsoft Outlook tasks with my Ipad reminders? I dont want to use Icloud or an exchange

Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.
