mountain lion download interrupted and resume button not working

From the App Store menu bar top of your screen, click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.
You may need to temporarily disable anti virus software to download apps from the App Store including Mountain Lion.
Make sure your Mac qualifies to run Mountain Lion >  Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Error downloading video (corrupted file) need help

I began to download the new quicksilver snowboarding film "That's it That's All" and when i was about halfway through the download i got an error message pop up saying that the file was corrupted and to choose the "check for available downloads" under the "store" tab to fix it. but after doing this numerous times i still am not able to download the video fully and its stuck about halfway. does anyone know how to fix this?
(by the way, the error report code is 8008 if anyone cares.)

    Hello
    I repeat my offer.
Not only because I wish to try to help you but because I wish to be able to understand what is the source of the oddity.
I'm afraid because I found on these forums some messages about corrupted files.
As my brain is not so large than Apple's offices, I join together these reports and the description of some encountered oddities of iWork products used under Mac OS X 10.5.
At this time I don't know which is the wrongdoer but it's clear that the relations between the apps and the OS are not perfectly correct.

ion download is corrupted and wont install.how can it be re-downloaded?

Delete the corrupted file from your machine and see if the App Store will let you download a fresh one.

  • Mountain lion download interrupted, cannot resume download

    Hello,
I am running Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro purchased in 2009. I recently purchased Mountain Lion from the App Store. (My system meets all the requirements to download this software.) While attempting to download Mountain Lion, I must have temporarily lost my DSL Internet connection, which is not an uncommon experience in the rural area where I live; it can go off for five minutes then be on again and sometimes does this several times a week. Obviously this paused my download, which looked to be about 50% complete after the first three hours.A shadow mountain lion icon appeared on my dock showing a pause. As per instuctions in Apple Support I went to the Apps store, clicked on purchases and tried to resume my download. The software is listed under my purchases but "resume" was not an option given. So I clicked on the download button thinking I could just start over. The button went from dark to dim as if the download was going to happen but after a few seconds it darkened again and the download did not start. I tried several times. So I looked in this forum again and found a similar problem. The solution given was to go to the application folder, find the icon for the partial download, discard it, then try downloading from the Apps Store again. There was no icon for a partial download in my Application folder. Now I am stymied and very digusted that it is not possible to email Apple support directly with my problem.
By the way I know Mavericks is the latest version of OSX softtware but download that would mean I would have to buy a new printer so I have decided to stick with Mountain Lion which I am already running on my iMac.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Does the downloaded file/app get corrupted
A slow internet connection for huge files like Mountain LIon (4.34 GB), can time out before the file is completely downloaded.
Try this...  from the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads.
Something to keep in mind if you need to repair the startup disk or reinstall OS X.
"Reinstalling OS X Lion or OS X Mountain Lion via OS X Recovery requires broadband access to the Internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the Internet from Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation."
From here >   OS X Lion: About Lion Recovery
So if it's possible, contact your ISP to see if you can upgrade to a faster connection.

  • Lion download interrupted, resumed; OS installation will work?

When Lion comes thru the internet, and there is a disruption in the connection,
can I count on the resumption of the data flow to give me perfect software for the
installation?  My delay was a couple of hours. It's hard for me to believe it's
100% in tact, but I dont have enough time to start another download.
    thanks

Visualize the download like reading a very big book. Now imagine keeping a tally of what page you're in and how much of the current page you've read. At the end of each page, you make sure to memorize the entire page, update the tally, and jump to the next one. Should you fail to memorize the page or get interrupted halfway, you only need to redo that last page, all the rest are already safe and sound. At the end of the book, just to be on the safe side you recheck that all pages were safely memorized and thus the entire read is ok.
Now turn that idea into computer code and that's how the downloader works. Only thing needed is to tweak the size of the "pages" to make sure you don't have to redo too much when one gets damaged (pages too big) but without adding too much additional administrative work for making this work ok (pages too little).

  • Difficulty downloading; a corrupt file

I'm having difficulty downloading Track 13 from "Swan Lake - Ballet in Four Acts" performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. All of the other 54 tracks downloaded just fine, but this one is apparently "corrupted". I've attempted to download it again, several times, but I keep getting the same message. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, or how I could fix it?

If the file is actually corrupted, there is nothing you can do to fix it.  Report the problem to the iTunes Customer Service with a clear explanation of the problem.

  • Running OS X 10.6.8 on 13" MacBook Pro (Early 2011) and cannot install OS X Lion. Says, "corrupt file." Please Help

Please help me figure out how to get this installed.

I have tried downloading it again multiple times.  I looked at the system requirements, could it be that my Mac only has 4G of Memory?

  • HT201272 I purchased Season 3 of the Walking Dead.  I cannot download the second episode of the season; corrupted file.  I submitted a feedback form, but they do not send a reply.  I tried to use the online help/support, got an error code for that page.

I just want my content.  I am frustrated at trying to get on-line help.  Either I will not get a reply to my feedback form, or the online support page has an error code, with "please try again later" or "start over".  I have paid for this content, and cannot download their corrupted file.

Are you in a country where TV shows can be re-downloaded - if you are then have you tried deleting that copy from your iTunes library and re-downloading it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes ?
When you say that you used the feedback page, do you mean the feedback page (which you won't get a reply to) or the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history on your account or the contact iTunes Support page ?
'report a problem' : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption (if this page doesn't work then have you tried clearing your browsers history/cache and/or tried a different browser ?)

  • Lion download - now can't synch?

Just downloaded Lion - now no itunes synch with ipad and iphone - ?

Sorry, pressed "correct answer" in error!  AND problem, apparently, is not with Lion but a corrupted file (ie recently downloaded photo). Told solution is to go to finder...places...open computer id...pictures folder...ipod photo cache into trash.  Then synch all except photos - and restart itunes.
BUT, at the first hurdle, can't find any reference to places in finder.  Help much appreciated, please!

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list. Post the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

  • Mountain lion won't install - downloads but says file is corrupt

I have purchased mountain lion osx from the App store and downloaded 3 times. Each time I try and install, it says the download is corrupt and that I should uninstall/try again. Any advice?
Trying to upgrade from 10.6.8 install of os on:
      Model Name:          MacBook Pro
      Model Identifier:          MacBookPro6,1
      Processor Name:          Intel Core i7
      Processor Speed:          2.66 GHz

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click  Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,
    Nathan
