Os x lion paused

I have a macbook pr 2.66 intel core i7 with 8gb ram running os 10.6.8 I purchased the Lion install from the app store and started the install app, I paused it then went to resume it and it will not resume, i tried to resume by right clicking on the icon in the dock and also by going into the app store and selecting purchased and then selecting resume still no luck.
I must b lucky but this is the first time I have ever had a real problem with any apple software? Can anyone help!

Click on Lion and hold.  A bubble will appear above the Lion with the option to resume.  Just had this happen to me.

  • Downloading mountain lion paused. How do I resart it?

    During the downloading of mountain lion it paused. How do I get it to restart?

    If the "Install OS Mountain Lion" is in your applications folder, see if there is a resume button.
    Also check the App Store to see if there is an option there.
    If all else fails, quit the App Store and then open it and try the download again. Check the purchased tab to restart.

    Thanks for your prompt reply...but is there no solution to it...since the file download is almost 4.34gb..its a long download..internet is bound to go down for a while in such a long download..and whenever the net goes down for a minute or two I pause the download and restart..but everytime I restart it starts from the beginning...i believe for the earlier version i.e. Lion pause function was enabled and download used to begin from I have paused...I then successfully downloaded lion on the same internet network I now use at my home..Please help if you can or ne1 can..Many Thanks!!!

  • Why is my Lion download in paused mode??

    After downloading Lion and checking iTunes to verify my credit card had been charged and transacrtion completed the app says "OS X Lion-Paused". What does this mean and what do I need to do to correct it and get it running?

    I had the same issue with it pausing! After 8 hours I have given up so dumped the partial install.
    It seems to buggy and to many issues being reported for me to risk installing Lion at this time!
    I might seek a refund and come back in a few months when they have sorted the thing out.

  • Lion download stuck in pause mode

    The hard drive on my MacBook Pro had to replaced this week and in the process of rebuilding what was on it, I'm downloading Lion. However, it seems to be stuck in pause mode. In the Dock, it shows the :Lion in the circle, but it;s ghostly transparent. When I put the cursor over it, it says OS X Lion-Paused. I can't seem to figure a way to unpause it. I've evern try to drag it to the trash to start over, restarted the machine, nothing seems ot work.
    Any ideas?

    Nevermind. I figured it out.

  • Cannot download/install Lion on MacBook4,1

    Hi,
    I've just bought Lion to install over the top of 10.6.8 on an old MacBook4,1. I've redeemed the code I got from Apple and OS X Lion appeared in the App Store "Purchases" with a download button. But pressing the download button doesn't appear to do much, except asking me to sign in. Once signed in, I get a "loading" animation for a second, but then that disappears and the button still says "Download".
    However, if I reboot, then "Downloading Lion (Paused)" or similar appears in the dock. I can click "resume", which does nothing. I can click "cancel", which also does nothing, unless I reboot again, after which it disappears and I'm back to square one, except I'm unable to see OS X Lion in "Purchases" unless I go into my account and unhide purchases.
    I see nothing in downloads, nothing in applications.
    Pint for anyone who can solve it.

    Problem solved. It downloaded very very silently. Appeared in Applications eventually.

  • I'm now running OSX v. 10.6.8.  I purchased OSX Mountain Lion from the app store

    I'm now running OSX v. 10.6.8.  I purchased OSX Mountain Lion from the app store & after about 40 minutes of "downloading" (started 40 or so minutes ago) my iMac restarted & I signed in.  But OSX 10.6.8 is still there & the image of OSX Mountain Lion is in my dock with the caption "OSX Mountain Lion -- Paused" !!!  ...Now ANOTHER 20 minutes have passed & no change nor other prompts nor info have come up!!  WHAT'S GOING ON???  PLEASE HELP!!! ~~~THANK YOU!!!

    THANKS SO VERY MUCH, mende1, for so quickly responding to my plea for HELP!!
    I had never turned my iMac off so I still don't understand why the download paused, & when I looked in my Applications folder there was no Mountain Lion, but your words, "However, you can pause and resume the download as many times as you want"  encouraged me to look deeper & try harder!!  I clicked & double-clicked (& multi-clicked!) the Mtn Lion icon in my dock to no avail but finally, I clicked & HELD the click for about 7 seconds . . . . . . . & then a little pop-up came & asked me if I want to "Resume the download" or stop it!! So I slid the cursor over to "Resume..." & it's downloading again!! ~~I HOPE!!  I guess 4.4 GB of OS update will take more than a little time to get in there!
    ~~~Again, THANK YOU so MUCH & God less you with a WONDERFUL time with your studies & future dreams!!!
  • MOUNTAIN LION ON IMAC
    I TRIED LOADING MOUNTAIN LINON ON MY IMAC AND AFTER IT STARTED THE DOWNLOAD THE WIRELESS FINCTION QUIT WORKING.THE WIRELESS ICON WENT OUT AND WHEN I MOUSED OVER THE APPLICATION BAR IT SAID MOUNTAIN LION PAUSED.I CONNECTED A CAT5 HARD WIRE FROM ROUTER TO PC AND I CAN ACCESS THE NET.THE WIRELESS FUNCTION IS STILL NOT WORKING.
    WITH THE CAT5 CONNECTED THE ICON IS STILL OUT AND I STILL GET THE MESSAGE THAT MOUNTAIN LION IS PAUSED.
    ANY SUGGESTIONS?
    Do a SMC reset
    As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
    You are now in a perfect position to do a
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
    Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.
    It is the 5 second timing that initiates the reset.
  • Is anyone having problems downloading Lion?
    I get the transparent lion icon in the lower right corner of my screen, but when I mouse over it, it says "OS X Lion - Paused"  I've had that for over a day now.  I even tried starting over by dragging the icon to the trash, rebooting the computer and starting the download again.  Same problem.
    Right click the icon and click resume. keep in mind it may take a few hours to download.
    Sort of half-way transparent indicates the DL is not complete. If it is paused, restart and it should resume from where it left off.
  • A follow up to redownloading mtLion
    My menu dock, (Downloads), shows lion "paused".  The downloads window just showed the amount of the mb loaded.
    Reporting a problem, from my paid receipt, sent me to a restart paused download, but  I can't find it.
    In my apps section of itunes, it doesn't show that I purchased it? ??
    This is from a question in Mac Book Pro
    Thanks for your help, Blessings, Bob
    I feel alittle silly about now.  couldn't find it see it in "itunes store", because it was in the "app store".
    Shanking my head and wondering...
  • How to get rid of an aborted download
    I aborted (paused) a download of ML because I remembered I had saved a copy of my original download. Now I can't get rid of the Mountain Lion (paused) icon in the launch pad. I do not intend to complete the download so how do I get launchpad to revert to its normal state without that icon?
  • Restore windows's bad behavior
    It's nice to have the option to have my mac restart just as I left it... except that doesn't happen.
    I often have many open apps, like Word, Excel, iCal, Address Book, Mail... but with their windows closed.
    For instance, the Word app may be running, but no documents are loaded, and its windows are closed. All I have is the icon in the dock.
    So, when I restart my mac with the Restore windows option, all those apps restart, and all their windows open, cluttering my desktop.
    Worse still, Word and Excel prompt me to load a document or start a new one. I don't want to do that. I want my desktop to restart as it was: Opening the windows that were open before, and everything else closed.
    On Apple's website it says: When you restart your computer, OS X Lion pauses your system so everything comes back just as you left it. All the apps that were running reopen, and windows appear exactly as they were, so you can begin working immediately.
    So, is that a bug, or just a stupid implementation of the feature which makes it unuseable?
