Os x mail sync problem

Hi
I'm using icloud in my PC, iphone, ipad and mac (OS x mountain lion).
Everything works smooth execpt mail sync in mac osx mail client does not work properly..
From some reason, the mail client does not sync with other devices and any mail that I download with osx mail client is showed as unread (though in other devices it shown as read). The same goes with flagged mail (even if you unflagged it in other devices - spacially on PC - it still shown as flagged in mail although it is shown as unflagged in all other devices including icloud web site).
Anyone has any idea how to fix it?

On the Mac, open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Mail then reselect it.
Reset iCloud on your PC as well.
And on the iPhone and iPad, tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Mail off then back on.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data.

  • Mail sync problem?

Getting message that I have a sync problem with mail, however, my mail seems to be working normally! Message "could not sync mail account to iphone beacuse an error occurred remapping record identifiers" Any one know what this means?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
As far as I know, the email app when using pop3 should be a mirror of the server. Make sure that the email you delete in your webmail also is deleted from the server. You can test it by deleting a mail on the webmail. Remove the email account from your Tablet and add it again. Is the deleted email still there or is it deleted?

  • Mac Mail Sync Problems

I'm trying to get OS X Mail to sync with my hotmail and gmail accounts.  I can get it to fetch, but it won't sync the other way.  When I open those accounts on other devices/computers, all the mail I read on my Mac still show as unread. It works fine on my iPhone iOS and I want it to work the same on my Mac.  Attempts at googling this mostly come up with "it's a pop problem, talk to hotmail" which sounds good, but why does it work on my iPhone?  I hope I explained this enough and any help would be appreciated.

    Hello harald16,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If I were you, I'd start with troubleshooting the Mail application by following the steps in the following article:

  • Mail sync problems

I keep getting an error on my new Leopard iMac, but dont' receive the error in my Panther computers.
    It reads:
The sync did not complet successfully because Mail rules, Signaturs, and Smart Mailboxes failed. Try syncing Mail Rules, Signatures and Smart Mailboxes again later. If the problem continues contact .Mac support.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

ok, then I would suggest the following to start from a fresh base:
    1) reset sync history in isync>preferences
    2) choose the computer that has the most up to date data
    3) unregister all macs from .mac, you will be asked to get rid/purge sync data, say yes and purge
    4) register the computer chosen in 1) and sync by reseting sync data from that mac to .mac
    5) once that sync is done, then log on to .mac, and make sure that everything is ok with bookmarks and contacts, you will be asked to reset each via a window for that effect, log in and out until you get that window for each and click on reset for each.
    6) once that is done, log on to the next mac, register again, and sync by reseting data from .mac to that computer....
    you should be done
    hope this helps

  • Mail Syncing Problem

For some reason, my iPhone refuses to complete a sync as it gets stuck on "Syncing mail accounts with Shane's iPhone." It's been stuck this way syncing for at least an hour and won't complete.
I haven't changed anything on my mail accounts. I even tried removing them from both my computer and my phone to start fresh, and nothing. What do I have to do?
Also, my password problem with my Gmail accounts has not yet been resolved if anyone knows what I should do for that.
I know syncs sometimes do take a while, but this is pretty crazy...

    Hey Supersonic17,
Make sure your iPhone is directly connected to your Mac and not plugged into a hub.
Try quitting the Mail app on the iPhone or resetting the iPhone.
To quit the Mail app: go to Mail on the iPhone, hold the Home button for ~6 seconds.
To reset the iPhone hold the Home + Sleep/Wake as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305743
For the Gmail password issue, try unlocking the account here:

  • Outlook 2013 IMAP E-Mail Sync Problems

I'm using Outlook 2013 and have run into a few problems.  First, when checking my email, not all messages appear in my Inbox.  Comparing the inboxes of the desktop Outlook client and the online web access of my personal account (not Outlook.com),
I can see a few dozen emails from over the past week that have not been synced.  I cannot sense a pattern as to why some have been downloaded and some haven't (some have been read and some unread, none flagged or otherwise altered) but it's quite frustrating
to not be able to rely on something as straightforward as checking email.  I have used this email account for over 10 years and past versions of Outlook without any problems.
Furthermore, whenever I start Outlook I have to switch folders from Inbox to another and back again before the 'Inbox synchronization' begins. If I do not change folders, Outlook runs a Send/Receive but doesn't alter the messages, just leaving the Inbox
as it was last time I opened the program.  Granted I only have to click to any folder and back to the Inbox to get it working, but it's yet another issue I'm having with a brand new program.
Please let me know if there are any work arounds or known bugs but I'd prefer not to try any actions that will only address past problems and not future ones (e.g. solutions proposed like 'delete account and recreate' sound to me like it would only do a
re-sync now but not affect any future errors).  I appreciate your input and effort to help me address this.  Also, please don't hesitate to ask for more information (server name, settings, etc.).

    Hi,
For both issues, please run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
We may also try repairing Office in Control Panel to check the result.
Since a new profile always helps many users, we suggest you can have a try:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If you use an IMAP account on Outlook, you don't have to worry about the loss of data since it will sync automatically from the server and create a new data file.
I hope the information is helpful.
    Regards.

  • Delete Sent Mail/mail sync problem

Is there a way to make iPad automatically delete sent POP mail after a time period? I have my apple mail program on an iMac set to do so, and it's working fine. But on the iPad sent mail has not been being deleted. I tried telling iTunes to sync mail accounts, and replace mail info on the iPad with that from the computer, but the sent mail on the iPad is still all there. I could just delete it all, one by one, but since I thought the settings were synced to the computer that all the sent messages were being deleted, and just noticed they weren't. So now I have a thousand or more sent messages on the ipad. This only occurs with POP accounts, Mac.com mail is behaving well, the sent messages delete as they should. Any ideas? Or, how can I mass delete thousands of sent messages on the iPad without having to do it one by one?

I'm pretty sure you can't do what you want. You'll have to just tap on the Edit button and manually select them all. A real pain.
POP accounts are a pain in general as they are designed for use on one device. For example, the only way of recording that a mail has been sent from your iPad (or from any other device/computer) is to cc yourself.
IMAP is the only way to go. Unfortunately, a lot of ISPs don't use it yet.

  • G-mail sync problems

I have the 8830 and have it linked to my G-mail account.  I've had this issue forever and don't know how to fix it, but whenever I send an email from my phone (or even from my gmail on a normal computer) the sent message appears as new on my blackberry.  Is there any way that I can have the messages that I send automatically marked as read?  Its quite annoying to have so many "new" emails that aren't really what they seem.

Gmail webmail accounts do not have separate sent items and inbox folders. The Gmail account web page contains a Sent Mail link on the left side, but this is not a separate folder from the inbox. Gmail webmail messages are grouped into conversations, resulting in all sent messages and replies from others appearing as a single email message entry in the inbox. This allows for easy reading and viewing on the Gmail web page, but, when integrated with the BlackBerry Internet Service account, results in copies of sent email messages arriving on the BlackBerry smartphone as new email messages.

  • 9300 mail sync problem

Hello everyone, I ask a help!
I sold a few days ago the old 9810 and before leaving it to the new owner I did delete protected data, returning it to its original state.
in a hurry I did not change the device for BIS on the site operator (vodafone) so I pulled out the good 9300, setting it after deleting old data new, with my blackberry id. He associated with the new device and I did the mail synchronization.
    Up to here everything ok.
but now I am in trouble: I do not see any mail sent (2 gmail accounts, 1 live, 2 business) and do not want to know to view individual messages, but only groups them by subject in spite of viewing options has set as style individual messages .
If this second aspect is a negligible the first is not certainly ...
to consider, that the playbook 2 gmail account and the live work in IMAP to perfection, on a 9320 with another user name of a box and a corporate gmail work just as well (display on both the web and email on your phone, as well as on I use outlook and windows mail to get mail).
I tried to delete the account on the site of the encore and reconfigure them, as I have tried from the phone ... nothing!
But I think I know one thing: if I make choices and displays messages from folder I only see the inbox and spam, for all 5 boxes configured ...
help, I do not know what to do ...
    thank you very much!

    Hey pollisan,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Can you send me a private message with your PIN number so I can find the root cause of the email not sending on the BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone?
Also if you go into Options>Device>Advanced System Settings>Service Book do you see 2 entries for each of your email accounts listed?
I look forward to your reply.
    Cheers.

  • Anyone having mail syncing problems? (01/01/1970)

I keep getting unread emails from 01/01/1970, and some emails dont even come to the iphone 4

I have called Apple Care 3X on this very same issue. It started day 1 with my iPhone 4. Here is the latest response after the initial "fix" did not work:
"I wanted to let you know that I received your voicemail. At this point it seems that all of our general troubleshooting for mail issues has been done. I have also seen a couple other reports of this issue and have submitted a report of this behavior to our engineers. I am currently awaiting a response from them regarding this issue and will get back in contact with you once I receive that response."
This was an email from a tech support specialist. We are seeing refunds for bumpers. Will we have refunds for buggy email support? Outrageous to launch a "smart phone" that can't properly handle email...including my MobileMe account!

  • Yosemite Mail still has sync problems with Gmail - any solutions?

I notice that Yosemite Mail still has sync problems with Gmail. After running for some hours, I noticed there were 6 emails in my Gmail account that had not synced over the past hour.
In the meanwhile, for safety's sake (don't want to miss emails!) I'm back to Mailplane. But I wonder if anybody knows of a solution to this long term problem first introduced in Mavericks. Works fine in iOS Mail though.
    Thanks,
    doug

I don't think we'll ever have a "best of both worlds" Doug. I've used Gmail since the week it launched the first beta in 2004, and it's always been a bit of a love-hate relationship for me (mostly love). With the demise of the Google Notifier for Mac, I went with Mailplane, but even it has problems. Like when I see my iPhone update with new mail and I'm looking at Mailplane and it won't update at times with even a forced refresh. I often have to close/reopen it to see new messages. But, it's hard to live without my Google Calendar only a tab click away, one of the primary reasons I use Mailplane, that plus changing view zoom sticks with Mailplane and won't with Gmail.
For years I've thought Gmail labels were the perfect filing solution, but over the past few weeks I've been analyzing just how much I really use that feature, and for me...it's not all that much. I think I could simplify my life by putting everything into appropriate folders (as in all other email apps). Apple doesn't realize just how much money they're losing by not allowing people to use private domains with iCloud mail...which I would do in a heartbeat just because it would work perfectly with Mail.app. I would pay even more than I currently pay Google for this solution with Google Apps Business. So, I'm actually on the verge of moving my private domain to the best email service I can find and then using it with Mail.app. The problem here, of course, is I'll lose the best spam control on the planet (Gmail). So, as you say, there simply is not a "best" solution for all these things. I'll at least try a new email service first with some other domain to see how I like it before moving my primary email.
Lastly, the other thing that incenses me is synching of flags between iOS and Apple Mail. It works fine between Gmail and iOS Mail, since all I care about is whether a message is starred/flagged or not.  But using Apple Mail, when I flag a message it will not show as flagged in their own iOS Mail, which is incomprehensible, given they built both apps.
If you find a great solution or discover anything new...please post it here, Doug. Thanks.

  • Mail for Exchange 2.3 - sync problems

    Hi,
I've been using MfE 2.0 for a few months and everything worked fine.
When I've upgrade to 2.3 all of a sudden MfE could not stop syncing.
On the 'CURRENT STATUS' tab is keep switching between 'CONNECTED' and 'SYNCING EMAIL' every second. Initial sync seemed to go ok. I synced emails, calendar and tasks.
This syncing issue just kills the battery in about an hour. so I have to change to Manual sync or every 15 minutes.
I've looked through the admin log and this is the repeating message:

I tried moving back to 2.0 but I now get the same error there too.
I have reset the phone, and updated the firmware (with the same firmware version which is the latest) but hte problem is still there.

  • ICloud mail sync between iPhone 4S and Mac Book

I am new in the Apple world. I have a brand new Apple MacBook Pro right out of the box and an older iPhone 4S, using a Pop3 mail account (and for various reasons I do NOT want to change to IMAP, e.g. storage space issues on the server). I do not use Gmail or any other of these services, but use my own e-mail via my website provider. I download e-mails via POP3 onto various computers (but leaving e-mails on the server for a period of 4 weeks).
I can send and receive e-mails, no problem on my Mac nor my iPhone.
To sync between both (esp. with regard to sent mails) I have created an icloud account which works fine for synchronising my contacts, for example. But it does not in any way synchronise my e-mails between the devices or show any e-mails in icloud mail (in icloud or on in Mac mail) at all. The folder is there, it's just empty.
I changed over from Windows after being frustrated by performance issues (although I am starting to miss Outlook already). But in the Apple world I am already overwhelmed by the feeling that I do not have the slightest idea of how to set up things here...I am aware that I might not get the simplest basics, but I have no one to ask (since all friends are Microsofts-addicts).
I use three e-mails accounts (work and private) and now I am already stuck with getting to run one and sync it over the devices, let alone three.
    Thanks for any help!
    Stephanie

Apparently you must be very narrow minded. I don't want to develop an e-mail client from the scratch.
I would implement the sync the following way.
Assuming I use POP3 on both my iPhone and my MacBook. On my iPhone mail client I am downloading e-mails and reading them from time to time and replying. There is an ended set of what you actions you can do with your e-mails. Every e-mail has a unique ID / fingerprint - you can recognize it with 100% accuracy. I'm also downloading e-mails on my MacBook mac mail and performe the same ended set of actions on this e-mails. So the system architecture should be as follows:
    1. MacBook mail client queues all the actions I have performed with my e-mails on my MacBook.
    2. iPhone mail client does the same - creates a queues with actions I have performed on my iPhone.
    3. If I have the syncing turned on on both of my devices and I'm logged in on both of them with the same Apple ID both devices process the queues to my iCloud, compare it and update status of my e-mails according to the actions in each queue.
So I will rather wait until Apple will do this simple solution.

  • Ipod classic 120GB sync problems

Whenever I try to sync my new iPod Classic 120GB with iTunes 8.1, it shows that it is transferring all the tracks, but when it is done, only a handful are transferred to the iPod. No error messages pop up, but when I sync it with an older version of iTunes, it seems to work just fine. The firmware on the iPod is already up-to-date and I've even done a restore, what can possibly be wrong which is causing the sync problems with iTune 8.1?

I have got the same problem, everything up-to-date. iTunes has about 80 gB of music, but synchronisation results in only 30 gB of music on my iPod. Apple's helpdesk first advised to reset the iPod: that meant another 24 hours of downloading, but the final result was even worse than the first time. Then they tried to convince me that my iTunes tracks perhaps were corrupt. But manually I can download every album. Finally they recommended to use manual synchronisation, that in fact means that the automatic sync option is no longer available! I cannot understand that Apple support is not aware of the problem and cannot properly fix it. Also after first contact by telephone there seems to be no possibility to complain by e-mail about the recommended "solution."
