Hi,Weird problem here.When I upload a file (in this case a 30Mb file to Google Play Books), all clients on my LAN (wired or wireless) lose connectivity to the internet until the upload is cancelled or completes. I have tried this with different laptops and IE, Firefox and Chrome.I have rebooted the router and the issue remains.If I run a constant Ping, I see time increase from 15ms to 670ms, then eventually it starts dropping and all systems lose connectivity to the Internet. Uploading files that are large can be a little problematic on an ADSL2+ connection because the throughput is low, for a 30MB file it should take only about 30 seconds on your connection, but during that period it'll completely bottleneck the upstream. And this will effect downstream because there is no upstream bandwidth remaining to acknowledge the data packets.
I noticed this during a period that I uploaded large files to google play, and the only way it was workable was to restrict the upstream bandwidth for google play music, and then the connection was usable during the periods in question. This you're unable to do with google play books, unfortunately.
This isn't much help to you, but is a fact in relation to your problem, unfortunately. So if you can restrict the upstream bandwidth for some of those applications concerned, then do so and it'll solve the problem.
If it's taking longer than a second to upload each 1MB of book data approximately then there is a problem with your upstream connection, for other cases try restricting the bandwidth upstream if the application has such a setting.

Mac mini bluetooth audio connection stops when paused

I have a Mac mini late 2012, i5 Version, 2.5Ghz as my home Desktop. The OS is 10.9.5 Mavericks.
It's connected to a Logilink Bluetooth to 30 pin dock connector adapter, standing on an Apple Dock, connected to my Home Stereo. My Problem is, that everytime i pause the audio on my mini, the bluetooth connection just stops, and if i press play again, it plays through my internal speaker again.
I temporarily fixed this by playing a 10hour version of a song with 0 volume on itunes, but this shouldn't be a long-time solution.
I tried it with another bluetooth adapter, another dock, another home stereo. The issue probably is Mavericks, with it's awesome bluetooth settings, connect or don't connect.
Is there any program out there which sets the connection to permanent? Or is there an other solution?

Ah, no joy, as suspected...I'm using Boot Camp version 4 and all i got was a flash drive full of boot camp version 3.1 - 3.3? A few firmware upgrades that says it isn't compatible...

Mavericks download stops at 1.03GB

iMac 9.1
2.66GHz
8GB RAM
Running Snow Leopard 10.6.8
Trying to download Mavericks, the download stops every time at 1.03GB, and clicking retry doesn't start it.
I get the message "The application you tried to download could not be downloaded. Check your internet connection and try again."
But if I click Cancel, and then restart the download, it works perfectly again up until 1.03GB.
So I'm a little unconvinced that it's a problem with my internet connection, considering I have full access to the web and clicking retry shows it working and connecting.
What could be wrong?

Just noting, I connected the computer to a different network and it worked perfectly. It seems it's a problem with the network I was on.
If your computer is also having this problem, I suggest taking it to a friend's and doing the update there, or checking your router settings. I'm not sure why 1.03GB, but I can confirm that it did work on a different network.

I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck.

There are multiple ways to configure the proxy settings on a Mac it sounds like your trying to do it manually. All the places I have been that have used a proxy server have used the "Auto Proxy Discovery" method and this has worked fine. This will work fine for multiple user accounts on multiple Macs.
For those unaware "Auto Proxy Discovery" uses WPAD (Windows Proxy Auto-Discovery) protocol. This means it either 'learns' the address to download a PAC file from via DHCP option code 252 (preferred), or if it cannot get that address via DHCP it tries using the DNS method.
All the Mac web-browsers use the proxy settings learned via System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> Proxies however some other software particularly command-line tools may need configuring individually. For example curl needs to be told separately.

Tried to download mavericks and got a message that there was insufficent space. I made space and went back to the app store, "purchases" clicked on download button on the mavericks line and nothing happened. I searched my hard drive but could not find any dmg file for it. I can't download a new iphoto till I have mavericks. help!

Rentals are a one-time only download from the store. If you can't free up enough space on your phone for it then you can try the 'report a problem' link to contact iTunes Support and see if they grant you a redownload for your Mac : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

I'm not sure why, but when I updated my software to mavericks, my USB ethernet adapter stopped working.

After I updated to Mavericks, I installed the driver in this page, but it didn't work. Then I googled "AX88772" which is my adapter's part no. or something like that, and I installed that one:

I wasn't expecting that work but that did work. So, I think the solution of the problem is finding the right driver. I hope you solve your problem too.

I have a MacBook Air running OSX 10.74. I've tried 3 time to upgrade the to the latest OSX. The upgrades downloaded, but when they start to install the operation stops and says the upgrades did not install because an error occurred.

If you are trying to upgrade to Mavericks, make sure your Mac meets the requirements > OS X Mavericks: System Requirements
And make sure there's enough free storage space. Mavericks requires about 8GB's.
Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage
Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
If it's not a storage space issue ...
Apps such as Little Snitch, Growl, MacKeeper, and anti virus software can prevent apps from downloading including OS X upgrades
Disable anti virus software if installed
Check the firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options
Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.

I've been using firefox with my Mac book. Yedsterday, I got a message to update from version 3.6 to 6.0 in 3 steps. Step 1 was to download version 6.0. It appeared on the list of downloads as Firefox 6.0 dmg. However Step 1 , which was to open the download, stopped at 79% of the download version. So I have not been able to update to version 6.0.

I want to make sure you're using the auto-update system, because that's the safest most reliable way to go, and it shouldn't appear in the download manager, so I lets make sure you're doing it right. <br/>

Error 110 encountered and download stopped

My system is windows 7 X64 ultimate, 8G ram and 230G HDD
When I tried to download creative suite 6 master collection (Traditional Chinese) trial version via adobe download asistance, everytime when the progress is about 2/3 complete, the statement "error 110....." appear and the download stopped.
I tried to restart the download, but the download didn't restart again. Even I tried another new download, but the same thing happened again.
I tried another machine that run windows xp, but same thing happened again. I have search the adobe web, there is direct download link, but the Traditional Chinese version is not available there.
What happened to the CS6 download manager or server whenever the download is reached certain place, it stopped ?
Is there any alternative way other than adobe download assistance to download trial version of CS 6 master collection (Traditional Chinese) version since I need to elvauate the product before my purchase?

I think, I've found the answer. The problem is at adobe's side.
Not only the traditional Chinese version of CS6 master collection, but also the Korean version are not available for download although they were appearred in ADA. Because I've tried to download these two versions, same problem happened, instead very smooth download for English or Japanese versions.
Any Adobe's official can answer my question?
