OS X Mavericks failed to download

Hi,
I'm having an error message 'OS X Mavericks failed to download' every time when I try to download it. Sometimes it took some time to happen, like after the process is around 50%, or sometimes just happened after a minutes. I tried over 10 times and this still persist! I didn't change my DNS settings, I'm using my ISP's. Anyone facing this problem too? How can I fix this???
Thanks in advance,
Nathan.

I have been reading the forum and other sites and no surprise that bugs do creep in from time to time and need to be fixed. Any new OS will come with bugs and i think this is one.  Yes they will fix it and then we will be able to download, but I do not think that the problem is due to too much traffic. However, is good to let Apple know about problem, so they can fix it.

how to solve OS X Mavericks failed to download Use the Purchases page to try again.

I have found a solution for this issue.
OS X Mavericks failed to download, Use the Purchases page to try again
I was trying to upgrade Mac OS and kept running into this error message when I tried to resume interrupted download. I was able to get around this problem by following steps mentioned below, which were originally posted in this post.
    Quit App Store.
    Open Terminal.
Execute this: defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
    Launch App Store.
At the Menu bar, there should be a "Debug".
Click on that and press "Reset Application"
    Restart App Store.

  • Osx Mavericks failed to download aditional content

    Hello,
My Mac mini's hard drive crashed. So i installed a new ssd and found that someone tried to eat my original install dvd.
So i downloaded a mavericks installer.app on my Apple id. at my buddy's house.
I made a bootable USB drive with the installer on it and the installer works fine but the osx macericks installer failed to download aditional content time after time. Even after waiting more than 10 hours. I'm on a 50mb broadband  network so that should not be the problem.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Its a Mac mini (mid 2010) 2.4ghz 8 gb 265gb ssd

If your computer is capable of doing Internet Recovery, then you might try that instead:
Computers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery indicates that you can do a firmware update for this.
Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
You can skip the steps about partitioning and formatting since you said you've done this already.

  • OS X Mavericks failed to download and everything else fails

I am computer savvy and believe I have tried everything.
One day, out of the blue, I got a crash with an 'Unapproved' Caller error. Ok fine.
But then I never got it again. My Mac would nolonger boot into the OS. I tried Nvram Reset's, using recovery to check and repair disk (no errors, SMART verified), and even Safeboot. None worked. NVRAM reset, even while holding down the buttons the entire time will lead to a system shutoff at the end. SAFE Boot wouldn't start, and the list goeson.
I thought my HDD failed. I wiped it completely using recovery disk utility.
So I bought a new one. No matter what I do, Mavericks will not install. I have already called Apple support and I have done everything.
I have tried using Online Recovery Agent, and the RecoveryDisk Assistant to reinstall Mavericks. Yes,my new HDD is formated OS Journal Extended with a valid partition table.
I have tried Commad+Option+R aswell which connects directly to Apple.
Every time, even after typing in my id. Mavericks will download for 10 minutes, and then either crash with no restart, or give me an error.
I have tried installing Windows just. But that didn't work.
    Any suggestions? Thank

The best thing to do is a new partition not just erase.
Also apple never shipped a 10.7 dvd only a usb stick installer. So i am guessing that was a copy and is having problems.
This is a great article explaining how to make a usb installer.

  • I am still getting the Mavericks failed to download error

Are Apple's servers still melting from downloads or is this something else? I have tried about a dozen times and the longest the download has been going on has been about 5 minutes.
    Any suggestions?

    Try this...
Close All Open Apps...  Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • OS X Mavericks 10.9.2. failed to download

I have a Macbook Pro with retina display running on OS x version 10.8.5. It keeps saying 'OS X Mavericks failed to download' when I try to upgrade to 10.9.2. I have tried to upgrade several times, but the dowload never completes. Thanks in advance.

I disabled the auto-updates after the second auto-update yesterday (and after the Time Machine restore to 10.9.1). The update had already been downloaded prior to that. Apps started nagging me this morning about the update - again. There is no "cancel" option, all I do is click on "Remind me tomorrow". I suspect it will install it again anyway in the days ahead, or I may go ahead and do the update and see if the nav bar is still there given the Preferences > General fix. Thanks.

  • OS X Mavericks does not download, infact shows downloaded but it doesn't appear anywhere in Launchpad and neither can I download it again

I am having trouble downloading the OS X Mavericks. In my initial attempt to download the update from the App Store, it started downloading but stalled. It wasn't paused, but just stalled. I restarted the Mac and tried to install it again. The next time the download commenced but stalled after reaching a certain point (it appears to have tried to restart from where it left off earlier), but the download doesn't continue. Says "Mac OS X Mavericks failed to download". Now on deleting the icon from Launchpad, when I try to install it again from the App Store, it shows downloaded. How do I restart the download process and install Mac OS X Mavericks? I am currently on OS X Lion 10.8.5.

Yes, I do have an external drive, which I now disconnected and restarted the Mac to try installing. Didn't work.
I then kept it disconnected and restarted in Safe Mode, which again when trying to download showed "Downloaded". So didn't work.
Then tried one final time by plugging the external drive back in, and starting in normal mode and it appeared to have started downloading once again.
Unfortunately, it didn't give up so easily and the download is now stuck at 996MB.I think it's really testing my patience now.  I tried looking up the communities for a similar issue and see that others have had their download stop at 996MB, but it seems to be an ISP/Router related issue, and I don't have alternatives for either.
Have written to the local Apple retailer for support, fingers crossed.

  • Mavericks won't download, it just says Mavericks couldn't download, then it says an error occurred.

A pop up will come and say Mavericks couldn't download.  Then is the purchases page it says an error occurred.  it usually stops somewhere around 995.2 and it does it every time.  I've tried multiple solutions almost everyday for weeks.  It never worked once.  I will attatch pictures of some of the problem.

  • Failed to download

Failed to download imovie. Your computer's video card does not meet the minimum system requirements.
    I'm on a 2008 iMac Core2Duo, with SSD.
Isn't there some way of getting the new iMovie to install? Generally speaking the system runs fantastic with the SSD installed.
    Appreciate help.
    Thanks.

I also have the same problem with imovie on mavericks not downloading.
    I have an early 2008 mac pro - 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB graphics card's installed.
I get the following message when trying to download iMovie:
"Your computer’s video card does not meet the minimum system requirements. The application will be available from the Purchases page."

  • I got message "OS X Yosemite failed to download" "Use the Purchases page to try again."

i got message "OS X Yosemite failed to download" "Use the Purchases page to try again." when i download OS X Yosemite
i got this message when i downloaded 869.7MB and i can't download more than that
    what should i do??

This seems to be working for me. VPN using https://www.getcloak.com/ - 30 day free trial. Crossing my fingers since the download isn't done yet.
I had a hunch that my ISP was the culprit. I cannot download anything from the appstore that had more than 1 gig filesize. Xcode, mavericks, yosemite. They would all stop and give the "failed to download....use purchase page..." error the moment the appstore starts downloading.
None of the changing DNS, emptying of cache, on/off appstore, or restarting worked.
    I'm on an iMac, Maverick.

i have problem in mac store when i try to download app i get note (( app failed to download use the purchases page to try again ))
i try to downlod twitter and ccleaner but i can't open the app  ?!?!!!

It can also be an iTunes issue. Many of us, including myself, are not used to the new interface of iTunes 11 and would find ways to downgrade the available iTunes 11 back to iTunes 10.7 in Mac OS Mavericks. The only issue with downgrading (using AppZapper and Pacifist) is that you will not be able to update/install apps from the App Store after rebooting the Mac.
If you happen to have downgraded your iTunes in this method, then uninstall the iTunes 10.7 and reinstall iTunes 11 again - the App Store should resume its download/update function without any issue.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bioshock Infinite failing to download

    hey.
I have bought Bioshock Infinite today just for 17$, everything was great until I got my first error- Bioshock Infinite has failed at downloading. Ive restarted my mac, reseted applications in Debug menu and all other things. I even have enought space for theese 29.3GB (Isnt that too much? Metro:Last Light was only 10GB)
Now Im downloading it 9th or 10th time. Only once it have reached 3 GB and then again failed at downloading. My internet is fast but it still says I have to wait a day until it downloads. Probably others is having same problem with other apps cos I have spend almost hour reading abotu this download failing. Many peoples had it only then when thay finally have uploaded Mavericks (I too have it). Maybe its just Mavericks fault?
    Sorry for my spelling mistakes.

Since you could download and install Mavericks which was a 5.35GB file, the fault more than likely is the app itself.
You can submit a support ticket at the app deveoper's website >  Aspyr Support : Submit a request for assistance
If you do not receive a response within three business days, contact Apple > Contacting Apple for support and service
