OS X Mavericks freezes when enabling wifi. Please help.
Dear fellows,
I have a MacBook Pro 15 retina late 2013 with the latest version of Mavericks installed (10.9.3).
Everything was running fine until a couple of days ago the system kept freezing with the only option to force shut down with the power on key and then power on again.
Today I realized that if I manage to turn off WiFi, the system works fine. I have already reinstalled Mavericks with the restore function (cmd R) but the issue is still there.
The only “change” to the Mac applications I remember is that about one week ago I installed an utility called SDFormatter (https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/) that works thru the Apple Installer. Could be some kind of extension installed by the software? I erased that app and also looked inside the relative .bom file to see if an extension or library of some sort was installed, but could not find other files installed.
what can I try now?

I don't think is related to the installed software because it appends also in safe boot mode. Could be some preference files related to WiFi?

I cannot watch movie on my mini ipad. It freeze every one or two minutes and I have to keep push pause and play.
Please let me know what I have to do.Try the basic troubleshooting tips and see if any of these help with the freezing issue.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the apps. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If you are watching the YouTube videos on Safari - this may help as well. Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data (orCache in iOS 4.3.5). Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. -
When I try using FaceTime it doesn't seem to work. When someone face times me all I get is a missed notification. An when I try to FaceTime someone it tells me to connect to wifi please help.
Alright, when you are attempting to FaceTime someone, are you connected to WiFi? With the iPhone 4, it does not support using FaceTime over the cellular network, you will need to be connected to Wi-fi.

ok here goes nothing i have a late 2009 iMac 27 11.1 intel bought it refurbished and they installed mountain lion 10.8.4 on delivery w/o disks i think ran lion orig. idk & its been all problems 10.8.5 M.L so tried Maverick 10.9 now worse please help me.....i still have backups of software for mountain lion 10.8 however i need to throw everything on a usb toshiba 1TB external storage for backup, plus from what ive read being i needed to try to go back and update the efi and frimware for my original model but when i found the right one it wont accept it.....and now i just tried to reinstall my mountain lion probably shoud have left in the cloud til i got backed up ...which i now needed to move my previous backed up stuff off the drive to reformat it properly as i read it being toshiba needs to be guid hard drive mac im relatively new to the whole mac thing and im just as ****** off as i was with PC ....lol i just wanna record music and have a steady workflow i do have a new 4s iphone and cloud storage but i believe my computers hacked or got malware or just ****** from incompatiable software ......and keychains not working for admin either PLEASE tell ,me what to do thx .....i will be so grateful im good with recording software and stuff bad with computers programing lol HELP me

Try to reset your device. The reset can help cure some odd issues that can crop up.
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally. -
Hi i recieved an ipod touch gen 5 for christmas and it worked perfectly on the 30th it decided to instantly shut down on me and over heat iv tried all of apples recommeded techniques but it wont work at all even when charging someone please help me!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Macbook pro freezes when moved / wifi problem
Hi guys,
This is driving me nuts. I've read some other post on the internet with the same problem but still no clue how to fix this.
Okay so this is what happens. Eather my wifi works but my macbook freezes when I move it. Or the wifi doesnt work (no hardware detected) and the laptop doesnt freeze.
Ive been to the genius bar here in Amsterdam, replaced the wifi but his didnt help, still freezing with wifi, or no wifi at all.
Other actions taken:
PRAM reset
SMC reset
replaced ram, to test
Reinstalled the whole laptop.
Does anybody have a clue what to do?

Time capsule slow when transferring files over wifi - please help!
Well - the problem started after the insallation of Lion. It takes around 1 min to transferre 8 mb. So if i want to see a film from the TC i need to cable it and thats not realy the point of having a wireless harddisk.
I have turn spotlight off
I have reset the disk - default settings
I have made a clean Lion instal.
I have called apple support, that wanted 40€ to fix the product they made - in a bad way.

I have noticed that, when in battery power and Itunes open, my Mac freezes.
I have read some of the threads regarding wifi, but in my case I am 100% sure it only occurs on Battery power.

Ipod shuffle randomly freezes....please help!!!!
My Ipod shuffle seems to randomly freeze after certain songs, or spots on the shuffle. I dont recall exactly when this first started, but it seems like ive tried everything. I have tried scandisk, defrag, resetting the ipod, updating it to latest firmware, and still nothing. The problem occurs whether or not I am in shuffle mode, or straight play. I would appreciate any help what so ever. I am at my wits end. I dont understand it at all. Scandisk detected no errors. Should I attempt to format it? Please help!!!!

If the problem is corrupt files, there are a couple of things you can try.
Remove the songs from the shuffle's playlist, then refill the shuffle - but don't let the offending song(s) reload; we're trying to overwrite the memory. Then you can let these songs back on. If the problem continues:
If the songs weren't purchased from iTMS, try re-reripping/re-encoding them. Then reload them.
(These steps have worked with all but one song for me. I've never figured out why, probably just coincidence, but I have one song that would only play a couple of times before this started happening again. It's off the shuffle's playlist for good.)
If the songs were purchased from iTMS (and in another post I think you'd indicated they were) you can try to get them replaced or you can go the route of making an audio CD from them and reimporting the songs.
(I've never tried this, and one poster in this forum has indicated it will cause an unacceptable loss of quality.)

Ipod error message when connected. Please help

I have had my 30 gigabyte ipod for almost a year and i've never had any problems with it before. But recently our area wasn't able to get broadband. So i was unable to download the recent ipod and itunes updates. I have done that now.. but i think something has affected my ipod. When i plug it into my computer nothing comes up on my ipod screen and i can continue browsing music etc.. i know this isn't supposed to happen. And on my computer an error message comes up saying "USB device not recognized. One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognise it. "
Please help me!Okay. So i'll tell you the steps i have taken. I've uninstalled all the ipod updaters i had on my computer, eg 2006 and 2005.. and i reinstalled the latest version of itunes. I also went to device manager and all that but it only came up in the list at "unknown device" and i uninstalled the driver and tried to reinstall it but it came up saying it was an unknown device again. I tried right clicking on it and going "scan for hardware updates" but it told me the one i have installed is the nearest match. I also tried connecting my ipod to my computer in disc mode which did nothing. But i have discovered my ipod charges when i plug it in.. but the computer freezes on the black dos screen (as it always has for me when i turn the computer on with the ipod plugged in) and the ipod remains charging. but it seems if i plug it in after windows has loaded it's not even recognised.
I'm sorry for making it so long but i really really need help
