OS X Yosemite not finding computers/printers in a windows domain

Hi,
I'm trying to add printers on my macbook pro from a windows domain. So when i try to add a printer i use the windows tab for printers and wait for the domain name to appear which it does, but after that nothing happens... This worked on 10.9.5 but it was usually slow to show everything but at least the server showed up.
So what do i do? i tried to have only wired connection, only wireless and both online at the same time but the server never lists so that i can add my printers.
I'd really like to add the printer through the server and i tried to add it manually but it only says invalid adress.
The printer i'm trying to add is an OKI C310dn.

Scan app does not find 4625 sacnner / printer in windows 8.1

I posted a while ago that I could not install the printer / scanner software on my laptop runningWindows 7.1 because it would not recognise my printer, although
1. I provided the correct IP address when asked by the installer
2. The installer worked perfectly on my desktop PC
3. I could see my printer/scanner with this IP address on my home wifi network in my browser
4. I could install the printer functionality (but not the scanner) over the wifi through Windows by searching and selecting from its list of HP drivers
So I gave up after trying many times over many days.
Subsequently. I have upgraded to Windows 8.1. The HP installer still does not work. But by letting Windows automatically find the printer (only) driver over the network I can (as before) print to a thing called HP Deskjet 4620 Series Class Driver.
Now I see Windows 8.1 has a separate App for the HP scanner called also HP Deskjet 4620 Series Class Driver. This, as before, cannot connect to the scanner. But: this is interesting. While trying unsucessfully to connect, it displays an IP address for this HP Deskjet 4620 Series scanner which is different from the printer IP Address. (It is not a valid IP address on my network, I looked though my browser). It seem to me that if I could somehow change the scanner IP address to the correct one, the scanner would work.
Any ideas?

I see that you are having connectivity issues with the scanning portion of the printer.
I suggest we try the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

Can not find any printers

So i just had my hard drive replaced, and Apple did a clean install of the os. I was in my office to day adding the network printers. The only drivers found for all the HP printers was a "Generic Postscript". What am i doing wrong? Are there other printers that need to be loaded from original Install DVDs? I had many other choices in the past.

so that u can be sure whether the printer drivers is in the disc or not.If ur printer is not listed there,then u need to go to HP website and download that.
If you would like to install any of the optional printer drivers after installing Mac OS X, insert the Install disc into your computer and use Optional Installs
Tiger 10.4 comes with most updated drivers but not all.

Vstest.console.exe does not find emulators on non-english windows

I am currently setting up my TeamCity build steps to build my app, deploy it to the emulator and then run unit and UI tests projects on it.
For deploying, I use "AppDeployCmd.exe /install app.appx /targetdevice:6" where "6" is the ID of the emulator retrieved by "AppDeployCmd.exe /EnumerateDevices". This works well. The emulator is being started and the appx is
deployed properly.
For testing, I use "vstest.console.exe" together with a runsetting file which looks like the following:

The device string is exactly the same which is printed by using "AppDeployCmd.exe /EnumerateDevices" and also visible in the Visual Studio selection.
This works fine when using English as the primary system language of Windows. When using German, the emulator names are appended a "(DE)", so "/EnumerateDevices" and also Visual Studio display "Emulator 8.1 U1 WVGA 4 inch 512MB(DE)".
For deployment, I use the index number which stays the same (6 in this example). For running the tests, however, neither "Emulator 8.1 U1 WVGA 4 inch 512MB" nor "Emulator 8.1 U1 WVGA 4 inch 512MB(DE)" are found by vstest.console.exe and
an error is returned when using either string as the TargetDevice value in the runsettings file:
Error: Could not start test run for the tests for Windows Phone app: The selected target device is not valid..
I'm using the latest VS2013 tools with the latest WP8.1 SDK and already tried reinstalling everything.
I'd appreciate if someone could help me running my tests on Windows with German system language.

As described above, deploying via AppDeployCmd works fine - I pass the ID/number which I received using /EnumerateDevices and then it works in both languages. The app is updated properly in the emulator and the next step in my CI progress would be to
run the tests which require the app to be deployed.
The problem is only vstest.console.exe where I pass a emulator name via the runsettings file.
In my eyes there should be used IDs as well as neither "Emulator 8.1 U1 WVGA 4 inch 512MB(DE)" nor "Emulator 8.1 U1 WVGA 4 inch 512MB" are found by the tool.

Why cannot I not find Power BI app in Windows Store

Hi,
I'm trying to install the Power BI windows app on my Win8.1 laptop. However, when I go to the Store app and search for "Power BI" I don't get any relevant results.
I can search on google, which gives me this result (http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-gb/app/microsoft-power-bi/b7e7c94d-2ea3-4fa6-a277-9d19a1f697ba).
But when I then click on "View in Windows Store" it opens the Store app and there is no Power BI.
Kindly assist.

Seems that the version of windows can also cause an issue. My current work laptop runs Win8 Enterprise, l managed (not sure how) to get the Power BI app installed, probably since had it installed before. When l open the Power BI app on my work
laptop and start to view the sample reports, get message about upgrading the app. So click on button to upgrade, the main windows app store interface opens, with the list of all available apps. Not the Power BI app screen, prompting me upgrade
the Power BI app. At the same time get this URL (http://apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-gb/app/microsoft-power-bi/b7e7c94d-2ea3-4fa6-a277-9d19a1f697ba) opening in a browser window. Nice shiny green box at left hand side says 'View in Windows Store'.
Where do end up, back at the windows store starting screen.
Whereas on my home laptop Win 8.1, the Power BI app has installed and runs fine. Lesson learned, upgrade to Win 8.1, which is tomorrows job.

Dseditgroup not finding group to add to local domain.

For years now have had trouble getting the Allow Administration by field to work properly in OS X. It wasn't a problem before I just ignored it but I can't any longer.
It doesn't work through the GUI, and when I try via command line
sudo dseditgroup -o edit -a “DOMAIN\domain admins” -t group admin
where DOMAIN is the name of my domain (in all caps) the response back is "Group not found"
Any ideas? The computer is bound to the domain, and authenticates just fine of AD accounts. Just can't seem to give local admin rights to the right people (well anyone with an AD account)

Here's what i was trying to do. The two domains im working with have a trust between them.
1. Create a user in External.Domain.Com
2. Add the user in External.Domain.Com to GroupOne in ExternalDomain2.Domain.com
3. The only knowledge that ExternalDomain2.Domain.Com would have about the account in External.Domain.Com is whatever is in the Global Catalog. Here is what im trying, but it isn't working.

I know that if i connect using [ADSI] i am able to specify that the connection follows referrals, the AD cmdlets seem to not have that function. The Quest AD cmdlets do... I just dont want to have to use third party cmdlets to do what the AD cmdlets should
be able to do in the first place.

IPS Block Computers on a Certain Windows Domain

I have been trying to figure out if the IPS can find out if a computer is part of a certain Domain and if so block it.
I have setup where I want a PC from domain
Workgroup\PCNAME to be blocked or at least logged by the IPS. I currently use multple TCP, UDP, and uri functions but I have never tried to look up the domain of a PC. If anyone has tried this or if it is not even possible I would like to know. I know a NAC solution would work but we don't have that at this moment.

I found out the issue with this, just thought I would post the solution if anyone else comes across it.
The problem was the users account had a drive mapped to his AD account on a server that no longer existed.
So I'm guessing at login it would try and map the drive and create a folder on the desktop but couldn't reach the server and time out, preventing the account to login.

Mac can not see any printers.

I have 2 other computers (1 windows / 1 Mac Book) using the printers just fine but once device can not even find a printer. Any ideas?
Printer is Ricoh Aficio MP C3501
The computer could not find the printers so I cleared them from system preferences. Updated everything, including downloading the most up to date driver, restarted and still can not see any printers.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I realize that two out of your three computers can see your printer, but one MacBook Pro will not. You have also done some great troubleshooting by deleting the printer, installing drivers, and trying to re-add the printer. If the issue continues, I would suggest resetting the printing system. Please use the attached article for more information.
Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X - Apple Support
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

VS2013 - Something related to app config - How to remove "Could not find schema messages"

All of the sudden, I am getting many "Could not find Schema" messages in my Windows Form App.
Why is this occurring ? How to fix it ?
I tried deleting the app.config and regenerating it. That did not work.

I tried the suggested solution in the post you referenced earlier and it did not work. Then I tried deleting the app.config and resestablishing that and that did not work.
I just tried another suggestion in the post you sent (below)... This DID work for me.
Quickest, easiest laziest way to solve the problem:
Right-click on the project icon and choose "Properties".
Go to the "Application" tab and choose another .NET target framework.
Save changes.
Go to the "Application" tab and choose the initial .NET target framework.
Save changes => problem solved!
I have seen this issue come and go before. It appears to be a bug to me. Why isn't it something that get fixed ? Why is it occurring to begin with ?

If you installed JRMC using the installer, you should have a new entry in your start menu.
Which version of JRMC did you install?
The installation dir default valyue for the latest JRMC is C:\Program Files\Java\jrockit-jdk1.6.0_29-R28.2.0-4.1.0
If you don't find something there I suggest you try reinstalling.

So when you plug it into your computer, you're not getting a message in iTunes that it has discovered a phone in recovery mode?
Reboot both the computer and the phone and try again.

Flash CS4 Windows domain not supported

Do you know if it is true that Flash CS4 is not supported by Adobe on a Windows domain environment?
I don't understand why having a computer on a windows domain can cause Flash crashes constantly.
I'm trying to find documentation regarding my question, but haven't been able to find anything.

Also most exe files that I have found are 2-3MB and I was just wondering if 4MB is normal as I can not find much info on this.
Also if 4MB is normal, why the increase in size?

Windows 8 Add a Device not finding all of my IP printers

Hello all. My organization is migrating to Windows 8. We currently use IP printers in our offices (24 locations total). Currently, in XP, we have a customized powershell script that allows users to locate a printer and install it. In windows
8, we'd like users to be able to click Add a Device.... scan the network, see their printer, and install it. Im testing this on a subnet in the main office with a few test machines running Windows 8.
The problem is, when i click Add a Device, only 3 printers show up (there should be a dozen or so). I have tried to compare the settings on the printers that show up to those that do not, but i dont see any differences. I have tweaked the settings
on several of the printers with no affect. We have a few different models, HP 4345 all-in-ones, 4700 color laserjets, 4300 laserjets, and 4515 laserjets. We also have some Xerox 9203 and 5790 models. Only the Xerox 9203 and HP 4515 printers
show up.
I have tried using some of the settings discussed here:

Considering that the issue is caused by network issue.
Please firs try to ping the IP of the printer which doesn't display.
If it fails, we can see that the printer is not configured correctly on the network, please reset it again.
If we can ping the printer IP successfully, please try if we can install the printer via the UNC address: \\host\computerIP.
If your device has a wireless switch, make sure it’s turned on. The switch could be on the front, back, or side, and it could be small and unmarked. Check the info that came with your device to see if a picture shows where it’s located.
Post back the testing results.
