OS X Yosemite Recovery Update 1.0 - Reappears in App Store Updates?
Hi there,
I've just updated OS X Yosemite to 10.10.3 and have noticed that OS X Yosemite Recovery Update 1.0 does not seem to complete its installation for some reason. I now have versions installed on April 12, April 13, and April 18, and still have the same update showing up again. I've patched to the Supplemental Update and still have the Recovery Update 1.0 showing as awaiting installation.
Any suggestions as to how to get this update to take? Anyone else experienced this? If so, what did you do to fix it?
Thanks!
Hey, gang. Still suffering from the same problem.
Have tried all of your suggestions (exiting and signing in/out of app store, file vault (which was never turned on in the first place), and unmounting any external disks).
Still stuck. Guhhhhh.
Also, for the record, after signing out of the App Store, the update did the exact same thing even when I wasn't logged in. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Hi,
I have a problem. After the latest update of OS X Yosemite, Yosemite Recovery update and iTunes I have a big problem. I mail is not lunching, it says that it is identifying message conversations and it will take few minutes... But it has been all day. The situation does not change even after restarting the system. Forcing to quit and reopening the iMail does not help also.
What is the solution?
Have anyone had something similar?
Any ideas?!
Thank you in advance, looking forward for some advice.Try a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

After installing the OS X Yosemite Recovery Update Version 1.0 on the 15/04/2015, my Macbook Pro is very slow at start up . I have an Macbook Pro 13 inch Mid 2012. i5 2.5GHz cpu 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3, 512GB SSD as main system drive.
Before the update as soon as I would switch it on, I would see the Apple Logo, then the screen would go to users log in. Now after update, when I switch on, I will get a blank white screen for up to 60 seconds or more before going onto the Apple logo.
Can anybody help with this, as the reason I came over to OS X was the speed of it. I might as well go back over if this Macbook Pro is going to be as slow as a Windows laptop .
Any help to get my speedy boot up back, would be grateful.

"Back up Failed - There is not enough space on Time Machine Backup"
The last successful back-up was on the 10/04/15 presumably just prior to these new updates.
Any suggestions?Time Machine automatically deletes old snapshots to make room for new ones, but it won't delete the last previous snapshot of any disk.
Are you storing any other data on the backup volume, or have you ever backed up another disk or computer to it that you no longer have? If the answer to both these questions in "no," then there isn't enough space on the volume for all the data you want to back up.
If you are storing other data, or if you have backups of a volume you no longer need, you should move or delete that data to make room for more. Alternatively, put the device aside and start a new backup on another storage device. When you're sure you'll no longer need the data on the first device, erase it and start over. -
App Store Update Stuck/Looping - Yosemite Recovery Update 1.0
My system seems to be in an infinite loop trying to install the Yosemite Recovery Update 1.0. At first, it seems like the download is complete and when I click on install, the button immediately turns o "Installed", then shows up in the list of apps updated over the past 30 days but pops back up as an update again with an Update button - starts downloading again, and the downloading seems to never end (ultra slow).
I've tried emptying the temporary folders for anything related to the App Store Updates, rebooting and clearing NVRAM, nothing has worked. I have also tried finding a link to download this update directly but could not find it. I had the same issue when updating to 10.10.3 OS X but used the combo download link to get around the issue and that part of the update is now resolved.
Any ideas/suggestions?
ThanksTried your suggestion including a reboot, no changes. I have attached a screenshot showing the repeat loop and now the download never seems to complete. Every time I turn my machine back on, it tries resuming the download from where it last left off. This isn't a network issue as I have blazing fast speeds in everything else I do and when I downloaded the OS X 10.10.3 update manually, it went super fact.
Something seems to be stuck or gone haywire in the App Store update. I also tried deleted all the temp files in the temporary directory related to the App Store but still no changes. Also tried a safeboot and doing it from there, no go. Open to any/all suggestions. Thanks -

Is there anyway to recover it? don't have a backup of it so my options are either fix it if possible or start from scratch.

Trouble downloading Yosemite Recovery Update 1.0
Hi folks!
So, like many of you, judging from other postings here, I had great difficulty downloading and installing the 10.10.3 update via the App Store. It would just hang and hang and hang. However, downloading the Combo Updater directly from the Apple Support site took minutes.
Unfortunately, I have encountered the exact same problem with the Recovery Update. I have followed all the troubleshooting steps I could find (clearing the App Store cache and temporary items, repairing permissions, etc.). It still is taking hours and hours to download, and has just given up more than a few times. Indeed, it is listed numerous times in the "recently installed" section, and yet, it does not appear to have ever successfully installed.
To make it all a little more interesting, I tried downloading a game through the App Store, and it worked perfectly. So, this problem seems to be specific to Mac OS updates. Thus, I am starting to think that the App Store, in itself, is not the problem.
Furthermore, although perhaps unrelated, it took hours and hours to update my iPad and my iPhone to the latest iOS yesterday. Are there servers just overloaded? Is that possibly still a factor at this point today?
I cannot seem to find a direct download at the Apple site for the Recovery Update, nor can I figure out how to check if perhaps it DID install. It's clearly not as simple as checking the OS version, or the version of this or that application.
Has anyone else managed to get around this somehow?
Thank you!I am very sorry to hear that. Perhaps you won't want to read this, then, but I think it finally installed correctly. I tried yet again shortly after my last post and left it to do something else. Now, it has been listed as "installed" perhaps a dozen times, but as you know, it would just time out or give up or whatever, and the "Update" option would still be there. This time, that option is gone, and there is no longer a notification number indicating an update is available. With great trepidation, I reloaded the page, but still no change. So I think it has finally installed legitimately.
This does not mean, however, that the problem (which remains unidentified) has been solved. All it means is I am stubborn. Why it took several days to download and install a little 500 MB update is beyond me. -

hello
does anyone know if there is anywhere else to download the recent recovery update.

I installed the iMovie update version 10.0.8 when it became available 4/24/2015 yet it continues to appear as a new update ready for downloading and installation. How can I get rid of this, or is it even necessary to do so? In my dock, it shows that I have a new update that needs attention. I've never encountered this before.
1. Search "This Mac" in the Finder for outdated copies of the app(s) that keep being updated. Delete any you find. Make sure the search scope is "This Mac" or you may miss some.
2. If the search results seem to be inaccurate, rebuild the Spotlight index. If you try to search now, there will be an indication that indexing is in progress.
3. If the above steps don't resolve the problem, back up all data, then quit each app in question and uninstall it by following the instructions on this page. Alternatively, you can drag it from the Applications folder to the Trash, and empty. The data files you created will be preserved. Verify in Spotlight that there are now no copies of the app on your system. Download it from your Purchases history in the App Store. -
Since upgrading to yosemite, I can't connect to the app store (or icloud).
I have a Macbook air, early 2014.
Since upgrading to Yosemite, can't connect to the App Store (Message: Your device or computer could not be verified. Contact support for assistance. ) or to iCloud ( You can’t sign in at this time. Try signing in again.).
I have another Macbook air (late 2013) running mavericks that is connecting without any problem. I can also login in two different iPads (iOS 8), one iPhone (iOS 8) and in icloud.com.
Have spent more than one hour with support on the phone. Tried safe boot, login with a different apple id, reseting pram, running disk utility... No success.
I could upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.1 by restarting without the need to insert the apple id, so I am with the latest version running. Still no success.
Any ideas ?
Many thanks,
AlyssonIf you haven't already done so, please connect to a different network, such as a public hotspot, and test. Otherwise, see below.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -

Have Yosemite. App Store only showing Mavericks update
Hello!
I've been on Yosemite since it launched publicly, but the App Store has only ever shown updates for Mavericks and have never seen the 10.10.1 update show up.
When I click 'UPDATE' on the 10.9.5 update, nothing happens.
The About screen isn't bugged either, as I do have all the new features of Yosemite and use them regularly.
Any idea what's going on here?
Thanks!Hmmm, never mind, the problem has mysteriously fixed itself thankfully :-)

Attempting iPhoto upgrade from 9.1.5 to 9.5.
How many questions like yours should there be? What exactly do you expect the volenteers here to do about what you personally consider "too many questions"?
To move to iphoto 9.6 (required for Yosemite) You must log in to the App store using the Apple ID that was used to set up the compter (or purchase the application if it was purchased later), backup your iPhoto library and then download and install iPhoto 9.6 from the App store
If that is not working then you must contact App store suport - link is on the right of the App store window
