OS X Yosemite Wi-Fi connecting icon is a bit wrong

I think there is an icon error in OS X Yosemite. The third icon above is slightly larger than all the other icons, distorting the Wi-Fi signal when searching for a Wi-Fi network. Please fix this issue.

A system restore will not do it, you would have to do a full system
    REPAIR.
If you copy Just the keys above and past them into notepad and save them to your desktop as any name you want, just make sure they have a *.reg extension, then double click on them and the keys will be added to your regristry.  There are two keys above
    so make two *.reg files.
    This will make one file:
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}]
    @="Network Connections Tray"
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}\DefaultIcon]
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}\InProcServer32]
    @="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\NETSHELL.dll"
    "ThreadingModel"="Both"
This will make the other file:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}]
    @="Network Connections Tray"
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}\DefaultIcon]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{7007ACCF-3202-11D1-AAD2-00805FC1270E}\InProcServer32]
    @="C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\NETSHELL.dll"
    "ThreadingModel"="Both"
When the key's have been added to your registry you must reboot for them to take effect.
Remember, these keys are for XP, do not know about other OS's

  • Cannot find Internet Connect Icon

    I am using Leopard 10.5.4.
I want to setup a VPN connection and found an article which describes how to go about setting the VPN connection. But it uses Internet Connect icon and according to the article it is found in the 'Applications' folder. I cannot find the 'Internet Connect' icon in Applications.
    Please can someone help ?
    Zapp

Internet Connect has (thankfully) been removed from Leopard. You can now set up a VPN with the Network Preferences. Click on the + icon below the list of network services to get a window with popup menu that has VPN as one of the interface choices.

  • After updating to Yosemite, the ethernet connection is down

    Hello,
Since the upgrade to Yosemite, the ethernet connection is down.Unable to connect to internet with my ethernet cable.
If I connect the same cable to my other mac under Maverciks, there is no problem.
    The wifi works fine
    I have an iMac 27-inch Mid 2010
    Thank You

I have a similar problem on my iMac 27-inch Mid 2011. No problems before upgrade yesterday to Yosemite. System settings show positive connection for wifi and ethernet. But web & mail access doesn't work for ethernet. Wifi access works only if I change service order with wifi listed before ethernet.
Apple phone support blamed it on my internet provider or router. However, our 2nd iMac (identical model) has web & mail access with ethernet.  The other iMac is still running Mavericks.  So the problem is clearly Yosemite.
I have put in a request for Apple support to call me tomorrow, & I'll see if they try the blame game again.

  • Missing "Manage Connections" icon

    Hi,
For some reason the "Manage Connections" icon is missing from my BB menu.  I did a "Show All", but it still isn't showing anywhere.  The only way for me to get into this app is to assign the right side button to the "Manage Connections" app via the "Screen/Keyboard" options item.
Any idea how to get this icon back on my menu?
    Thanks!
    Solved!

    1. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?
    2. It can be theme dependent. What theme are you running? Try changing themes (options > Themes) and see if you see the icon.

  • Show "connecting" icon on the view

    Hi,
Please give me a hint how to do the following:
I would like to show connecting icon with the label "connecting" next to it in the center of the existing view when I perform loading data from Internet in my application. After the operation is completed I would like to hide this dialog.
Is here any recommended way of doing so?
    Thanks!

Call setCloseAction(new TabCloseAction()) on CustomTab which TabCloseAction inherits AbstractAction class as neither setCloseable nor setShowSelectedCloseButton is need.

  • E52 fw 031.012 3g data "connecting" icon always on...

Since the last update of my E52's firmware, the 3G connecting (not "connected") icon - which is the one with the dotted 2-way arrow under the signal meter - is always shown on the screen. I have no applications running in the background (as the task manager says). I have disabled all the internet synchronisations and the icon is still there, from the moment I power-up my phone.
This doesn't cause me any problem (apparently), but I was wondering if that is normal. Other than this, all applications that use this kind of connection work fine. They connect through 3g (the icon goes to full 2-way arrow), they do their job and then they disconnect and the connection icon goes back to the "connecting" state.
I have also tried to force the phone to close all active data connections, by keeping the hang-up button pressed for a few seconds, but nothing happens.
    Any idea?

  • OLAP connection icon missing in CMC homepage

    Dear All,
A problem i am facing recently, may be any f you can help.
OLAP connection icon is missing from CMC home page. No CONNECTION ICON in drop down box.
As a result , secured connections can not be retrieved.
and universe are not opening, and reports are not refreshing as well.
    I am using BI 4.0
    Can any one help?
    Kind Regards,
    Sohaib Khan

Point the CMS to another empty schema (new Db). Login to CMC and check whether the
    OLAP connection icons are visible.
There is a possibilty that the CMS Db might have got some corrupt entries.
Was there any kind of SP / Patch upgrade activity performed for BO. Or else an upgrade activity in the CMS Db level?
Perform a RDT scan to know the inconsistencies. Refer the below:

  • MBP Mail "Unable to Connect" Icon keeps showing

My mail on MBP 2011: The "Unable to Connect" icon shows up every time I open mail InBox and I have to shut down and reopen to get the mail to come in. What port should Icloud have? It constantly shows up for icloud, and then only appears by "Blackfoot" my current service, after I quit and open again. Very frustrating. Have reset all settings, reloaded. Help, thanks.

You posted in the iPad forum instead of the MBP forum. To get answers to your question, next time post in the proper forum. See https://discussions.apple.com/index.jspa  I'll request that Apple relocate your post.

  • Connection icon

My internet connection icon shows a letter "o". I've seen E, 3G and the WiFi symbol there but never an o. Anyone know what this means?

It is GPRS and is covered in the manual with all the other icons:

  • Internet Connect icon

Hi , Can anyone tell me where my Internet Connect icon has gone since i loaded Leopard ? I now have to go through System preferences. Thanks in advance.
    Tim.

I sympathize. I have a Novatel U727 (a wireless 3G device) from Sprint that plugs in to the USB port and acts as a modem, which means you have to dig around in System Preferences every time you want to connect/disconnect. It shouldn't have to be so hard.
In your modem settings in the network preferences you can tick the box to show modem status in the menu bar. You can then connect/disconnect using the menubar icon so you dont have to dig around in the network preferences.

  • Share Connect icon

Share connect icon keeps popping up in my dock when I log in and I get an "connection failed" message. How can I stop message from appearing and icon from bouncing in my dock upon logging in?

Hello, sounds like you have an Automount Share, I'd drag it off the Dock & replace with a Dynamic one...
Mount that Share once, then once the Globe Icon shows up on the Desktop, drag that Globe Icon to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash. You now have a Dynamic Mount, a quick click on the Icon in the Dock will connect you.
