OS Yosemite and iPhoto update

I have updated to OS X Yosemite on my Macbook Pro but iPhoto is not there with the bundled apps. I tried to update it though the Macstore but it gives me this message:
Update Unavailable with this Apple ID
This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
I am the second owner of this Macbook and have no idea what the previous owner's ID was. How can I overcome this issue and update iPhoto without going thru this hassle of Apple IDs.
Please respond if anyone has an idea.

You can use your Apple ID and buy from App store.

  • All my events merged into one after Yosemite and iPhoto update

I am running iPhoto 9.6 on Yosemite 10.10. Some short time after updating iPhoto, I found all my events had merged into one. I tried to find the old library, thinking I could tell iPhoto to use the old library, but couldn't find it at all. Then I thought I could go into Time Machine, which I tried several times, and restore my Mac to two days ago before this happened. But that did nothing either. Can anyone help?
    Thanks.

basically you are doing something wrong - events do not merge on their own and if you are running TM then you can restore the iPhoto library from ir - Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac
You can use the autosplit  command to split the "big" event according to your preference settings

    Hi,
I scoured the web looking everywhere for a solution to this.
    Exit Code 15
OSX 8.5 with Work@Home DVD media for CS6
I followed instructions to run 3rd party cleaner software
I tried the adobe removal tool
removing all copies of adobe software manually
installing from a new account, safe mode, plist everything suggested that i found did not work.
A colleague suggested that removing the below folder would allow the installation:
    /Library/Application Supports/Adobe
They turned out to be correct, so i am passing this on, because this took far too many hours of my time.
    Cheers,
    Smokey

  • Installed Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6. A lot of my photos are much too dark now and the colour is not right. Any fix available? I did a backup prior to the new installs.

Installed Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6. A lot of my photos are now too dark and the colour is way off from the originals. Any suggestions to correct this mess. I did a backup prior to installing Yosemite and iPhoto 9.6.

Check the monitor settings in the System/Displays/Color preference pane.  You may have to change the color profile used or calibrate the monitor.
Also check the System/Accessibility preference pane to see if the Increase contrast checkbox is checked. If it is check it and see if there's any improvement.

  • IMOVIE and IPHOTO update  "An Error has occurred in the update"

IMovie and IPhoto update  " an error has occured in your update"  -  What could be the problem?

To the best of my knowledge, RH does not insert any onLoad
events. It looks like the template you have has that onLoad event
(I don't know how it got there) but there is no javascript file
    referenced so it errors.
If you do not need that onLoad event, then take it out but
how did it get there? Is this an inherited project? Be careful that
it is not something that should be there and what is wrong is that
there is no javascript file referenced. Talk to one of your
    developers, they will understand.

  • IMovie and iPhoto updates require another Apple ID: Help?

I recently updated to Maverick, and iMovie and iPhoto required an Apple ID login to update. However, after entering my Apple ID, it then asked for an Apple ID of a user who used to have an account on my Macbook, but it has since been deleted. The Apple ID box is grayed out, so only the other Apple ID will work, and so I can't update with my own ID. I have tried logging out and back in again, but it doesn't change it. Help please???

  • IMovie and iPhoto updating repeatedly?

A few weeks ago I installed iMovie update 10.0.7. As far as I could tell there was nothing wrong with the update but later on the exact same update came back up as available in app store. I installed it again and yet again the same thing happened. I've installed it 10 times now but it still comes up as available. It's really annoying and the same thing started happening with iPhoto when 9.6.1 of that came out. Was wondering if the same has happened to anyone else and if there's anything I can do to fix it? I've installed other updates like the most recent Safari and security update without this issue, and tried uninstalling both programs but they still came up as available updates when they weren't on my computer.

Okay. Is there information there that would allow anyone to help you?

  • Yosemite and iphoto

    Hello!
I recently installed Yosemite, and since then, I cannot get to my iphoto library. I run my library from an external harddrive, and before yosemite, I would just open the ext HD and then iphoto would open nicely. But not anymore. When i do get info on the iphoto app, I have the newest iphoto (9.6) installed. but somehow it's not talking to my library on the ext hD... Please help!!

Control (right) - click on the external HD's icon and select Show Info from the contextual menu.  The info window will show what the formatting is:

  • Yosemite and no updated print driver

i just updated to Yosemite and now i can't print to my xerox phaser because they don't have an updated driver. Does anyone know of or have a work around?

Hey this video helped me out. Printer/Scanner Help With Yosemite You still might be able to use a different driver for a different printer that does work with Yosemite as long as it is also xerox.

  • Yosemite and iphoto.  Apple id not working

I installed Yosemite and now iPhoto and a few other apps don't work.  I have tried the only 2 apple ids I have ever used and I continue to get a message that they didn't purchase the apps.  I need my photos.  Help please

  • Updated yosemite and iPhoto is gone

I have update to Yosemite 10.3 and my iPhoto is greyed out (it was not updated)  - states outdated version and I can't download newer option - when I do I get a "not available in the US" pop-up.  I have read other suggestions, but none apply to me thus far.  iPhoto is not listed under my purchased apps in app store - I'm assuming because it was preinstalled? It is also not hidden - I checked. So now - I don't have iPhoto and photos isn't an option in the app store either.  Not sure what I should do next

What were you running before you updated? 10.10.2, or an earlier version of OS X (10.9 or earlier)?
If 10.10.2, then iPhoto should still be on your machine. If not, then go to the App Store, purchased tab, and look for iPhoto, and download it (you'll need iPhoto 9.6.1 to run on Yosemite).
If you never installed iPhoto from the Mac App Store, then you should contact AppleCare, who can probably help you out. That's the only option in this case; upgrading from 10.9 or earlier straight to 10.10.3 is a bad incidence of timing.

  • I recently installed PSE 13 to my Mac book pro with Yosemite and the update installed and when I'm  in iPhoto when I try to edit the photos in PSE 13 they will not open in PDSE 13

When I try get my photos to open in PSE 13 to be edited they do nothing !  In the past I had them set to open in PSE 11 which is what I was using --- I've changed that to open in PSE 13 but it still doesn't work?   Can you help me please?

I hope you have set the correct .app file in iPhoto's preferences. Please see Use with iPhoto | Mac OS for details on set up. Just replace 11 with 13.

  • OS X Yosemite and iPhoto

I've just installed OS X Yosemite update on my iMac and cannot access iPhoto anymore. Can you help ?

    Hi
I had the same problem... I upgraded iMovie and then opened it to see if it was OK... it worked thankfully... then in iMovie itself it has a tab at the top left for 'iPhoto Library' so I clicked it and to my surprise it opened my photos in iPhoto! So I clicked iPhoto icon and it said I needed to upgrade... I clicked upgrade and it then said my permissions need fixed... I clicked OK and would you believe it, it went ahead and upgraded! It rejigged the database which took a bit of time but then that was it! It works!
Could work for others Hope this helps you peeps!
