Os Yosemite problem

Yosemite OS problems.
I have had some problems in the new operating system Yosemite.
Not have access notifications from facebook, twitter, calendar, weather and stock value, the notification tab. I also do not have access to photo sharing on the menu or on the email menu tab. Tell me without access. I use OS Yosemite as administrator, but if I use as guest have all access. Someone with a similar problem? 2 times already installed the OS Yosemite and the problem continues. a hug to everyone. Portugal tito

Hi Everyone,
I have exactly  the same problem as SamuelMM mentioned, changing MTU does not work.
Anyone can help?
Thanks and best regards,

  • Could not find layout General Audio 10 in Garageband... Yosemite problem?

    iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012)
    2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
    Hi there
Has anyone encountered a garageband problem since installing Yosemite?
Whichever song file I bring up i keep getting this error message "Could not find layout General Audio 10"
I'm assuming this refers to the visuals for the tones, compressors, reverbs etc as they're not showing for any tracks
Is this likely to be fixed and, maybe, is it because i've just bought and installed Logic X?
    Hope someone can help

General Audio 10 improbably part of the additional content.
Try this fix posted by Robinson Collins:
Re: I downloaded Garage Band 2x and the same note appears: there is no General Audio 10. Please advise. Thank you.
Try this: Go to your menu bar, select "Garageband" and then "Restore Sound Library..."
It can take awhile to download as it's a pretty big library. You might need to also select "Update Sound Library..." after the restore is done.

  • Yosemite problem with MSW 2011

    I have MSW 2011 version 14.4.4
Sense installing Yosemite, I am not able to use the "enter/return" in a word document. For example, using bullet point in a document, you cannot create a new bullet point. Thanks for any and all advice.

For those who have the same problem as mine, I brought in my Macbook pro for service at an Apple store and it turns out to be a faulty graphic card that is needed to to be replaced at a flat rate of $310.

  • Harman Kardon SoundSticks Wireless bluetooth on Yosemite problem

    Hi there,
Since upgraded to Yosemite, I have problems with re-connecting my Harman Kardon SoundSticks Wireless (via bluetooth) to MacBook Pro (retina 15" late 2013). Every time when that happen, I need to restart the speakers to make them connect again.
Is there some solution for this problem?
    Cheers!

I’m having the exact same problem but with the Harman Kardon Esquire Mini, also on the Macbook Pro, same year as yours. It started when I still had Mountain Lion iOS. They first said it was a hardware problem then installed Yosemite as the fix. It did not fix it. My Mac will not pair with hubby's JBL bluetooth speaker either. And the HK speaker works fine with all our other devices.

About 3 months ago my sister (we are a Mac family) upgraded to Yosemite on her 2007 machine that had been running fine.  Did not know that was possible on an old machine.  Anyway she has been having noting but problems since.
    Questions:
Is problem because she only has 2GB ram?
Can we go back on her Time Machine to around August well before she loaded Yosemite and do a total restore WITHOUT losing data from August to now?
If so how do we restore her banking, schoolwork etc. between August and now?

  • Canon LBP 6020 printer & Yosemite problem

My printer Canon LBP 6020 does not work after installing Yosemite. I guess the problem is with the driver(Mac_CAPT_Ver366_uk_EN).I have tried to find new driver that goes with OS X Yosemite 10.10 (14A389) without any luck. Is there anybody who can help?

Thank you for supplying the information.
Your image shows that the driver being used is v2.05, which was not 10.8 compatible. The latest version of UFR2 driver is v2.43, so check the Canon web site in your region for this latest version of driver for this model.
After downloading the driver, delete the current printer/s in Print & Scan that are using the v2.05 driver. Then open Finder and navigate to HD > Library > Printers > Canon and trash the UFR2 folder. Then restart the Mac and install the v2.43 driver. When the driver has finished installing, then add the printer in Print & Scan.

  • Yosemite problems with double click dock commands and keyboard shorcuts

I have a mid 2012 macbook pro 17", i recently installed Yosemite although it fixed my internet problem (connection dropping randomly) now i am having issues with opening apps and files. Double clicking on a file launches the corresponding app but does't open the file i just get and message stating the app is not open anymore if click the file again. Finder keyboard shorcuts such as command+Q don't work. Can't access some menu items such as "about this mac". Dragging a file into the dock icon launches the app but doesn't open the file either.
I have no idea what's causing this. anybody got a clue or having similar problems
    Thank you

    It's a clean install...
And has a funny fact... The Left Button was with this problem... So what I did? I changed the primary mouse button to the Right... Worked ok for almost 1~2 days... After that, the two buttons showed the double-click problem....
But, I repeat, the mouse works perfectly in the windows of my brother '-'

  • MAC Pro Yosemite Problems

I have a MAC Pro and just recently installed Yosemite.  Then the problems began, the systems is slow and takes forever to move from screen to screen and then I find that the MAC automatically shuts down for no reason.  I have gone into Preferences and into the Energy Saving icon to see what the problem is but the settings settings appear correct.  I did reset the wake up time and sleep begin time and now what I get when I go to use the MAC that I have a 'gray screen' with a place to sign in using my name and password (I didn't sign in again); then the other choices is to choose Sleep, restart, shutdown.  Because I have a external drive for my backups I didn't want to reset everything by shutting down again.  What is going on?

When you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.

  • Dreamweaver fireworks upgrading to yosemite problem

RE: fireworks and dreamweaver: I desperately need a new computer which means upgrading from 10.6.8 (snow leopard) to YOSEMITE.  I have been using CS3 fireworks and dreamweaver constantly for my business for many years.  I do not want a learning curve so thought I would upgrade to CS5 but I hear that there might still be problems on Yosemite.  I do NOT want to learn new setup nor encounter trouble with my old files.  PLUS I see that CS5 costs hundreds of dollars.  ANY SUGGESTIONS on what is closest thing to my CS3 THAT will work with Yosemite AND is there any way not to have to pay hundreds of dollars e.g. $500+)

Your comfort zone aside, almost every new software these days requires a modern OS and 64 bit computer.   CS6 and CC are compatible with Yosemite.  But CS5 is not listed in the compatibility FAQ so it is a risky venture for software that is outdated, no longer supported by Adobe and 7 versions removed from the current Creative Cloud offerings.
Old HTML files will still work in DW CS6 or CC.  However the products have received many updates. So take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with what's deprecated and what's new in DW.
    The deprecated features list:

  • Yosemite "problem resizing Core Storage" upgrade error?

Not a great amount of luck upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite here.
Download and start install, restart, see the progress bar, then the install screen with "about 18 minutes remaining". It moves along, and then boom...
OS X could not be installed on your computer
A problem occurred while resizing Core Storage physical volume structures.
Quit the installer to restart your computer and try again.
Restarting several times, as well as returning to Mavericks and trying again has so far failed. Live Chat suggestions of verifying and repairing disks and trying in Safe Mode also unsuccessful.

    http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fusion_Drive
Fusion Drive is a technology developed by Apple Computer Engineering, with a SSD and a mechanical hard drive be connected to a logical drive. [1]
    Description and function [Edit]
Fusion Drive called Apple a technique in which an SSD and a mechanical hard disk are transparently connected to a logical drive. The user sees the combination as a single drive. [2] With Fusion Drive is also in large storage volume can be benefited at a moderate price of the speed of the SSD.
Fusion Drive connects not only two physical drives into one logical, but still used in addition to a technology that tiering is called. When tiering, in German as "staggering", data on frequently accessed, the fastest drive (SSD here) saved, the other to the slower, here on the mechanical drive. What data is stored where, the operating system decides on the basis of a thorough analysis of the data access itself and can not be influenced by the user. Optionally coated the operating system in the background to data. The operating system itself is always on the SSD. [3] [4] tiering is used in mainframe computers for some time, with Fusion Drive this technology now comes for the first time in a personal computer for use.
Fusion Drive must not be confused with conventional hybrid drives. While in the latter case the SSD part only serves as a data buffer and all data is ultimately always stored on the mechanical disk in Fusion Drive SSD is a full-fledged part of the logical drive (except a small part of 4 GB [3], which also serves as a buffer).
Fusion Drive is since November 2012 integrated with all new Macs with SSD and mechanical hard drive. [5] The first corresponding Macs were equipped with a 128 GB SSD and a 1 TB or 3 TB of mechanical hard disk. [6] Currently (April 2013 ), Apple provides no utility available with which Fusion Drive install on older Macs could. But this can be done via the terminal, this requirement is OS X 10.8 Lion Mountain. [7]

No, it doesn't if you are a smart user:
    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Problems
If you are having an immediate problem with ads popping up see The Safe Mac » Adware Removal Guide and AdwareMedic.
Open Safari, select Preferences from the Safari menu. Click on Extensions icon in the toolbar. Disable all Extensions. If this stops your problem, then re-enable them one by one until the problem returns. Now remove that extension as it is causing the problem.
The following comes from user stevejobsfan0123. I have made minor changes to adapt to this presentation.
Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
    Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
    Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. It will try to reload the malicious webpage, but without a connection, it won't be able to. Navigate away from that page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com, and trying to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet, and the page you entered will appear rather than the malicious one.

If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using ClamXAV. (Thank you to Thomas Reed for this recommendation.)
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect everything targeting the Mac.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

  • Yosemite problems with bluetooth

I have my MacBook Pro and i upgrade it from 10.8 to (Mountain Lion) to 10.10 (Yosemite) and I´m having problems to connect devices to its bluetooth: a Sony phone and Snow Leopard Mac. My bluetooth will not recognize any device or show it "not connected".
To solve the problem I looked after the LMP version (0x6), I tried to reset the SMC and the PRAM but it didn't solve my problem.
hope i was clear in my description, thanks.

I have same issue once I loaded Yosemite.  The worst part is that The Apple store sells the Bose Mini.....   I love my Bose Mini and I fear I will never be able to use it again.
Apple Product Manager should be fired for this travesty.    The quality control around this product launch is suspect....Blue Tooth is one of the major tools most people are using these days....get with the program Apple!!!!!

  • Yosemite problems with email

I did the Yosemite update and now I can not send messages out with my evertek.net email program. I can receive. This has happened before and the techs just mess around doing stuff until something worked. Apple Care has expired and I don't want to pay for their expensive service when in the past they really did not have the answer.

I had the same problem and it took apple a week to come back to me with an answer. It turned out that I had too many mail servers going and they weren't valid any longer. All I had to do is go into my mail accounts and delete all of my servers and mail accounts. Then after everything is gone, click add new account and reinstall your mail account (s). It will test the address and pick its own new servers. I had gmail, yahoo, att, and my icloud account. I have had no issues since I did that. Good Luck.
