OS10.9.2 on an Intel Mac CS3 Photoshop says on startup 'licensing for product has stopped working.'

Using OS 10.9.2 on an Intel Mac, my CS3 Photoshop says . licensing for this product has stopped working.' I've reinstalled and attempted to use the fix in the Adobe website. However the fix will not work on an Intel Mac only a G5.

For Intel Macs running 10.7 and above, there is a python script that you copy and paste into Terminal. Have you tried it?

trying to launch photoshop cs3 on a mac running OS10.6.8 i keep getting the error message: Licensing for this product has stopped working  you cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT adminstrator or Adobe customer support for help
I already Uninstalled and reinstalled the product and it still does not work.

    Hi,
Try to uninstall the software again and you have to manually
    Delete the following folders:
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/backup
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/
    [Startup Disk]/Library/Application Support/FLEXnet Publisher/
Go to Applications-->Utilities-->Disk Utility, Open it and Select the MAC HD and then click on Repair permissions.
After that try to run the cleaner tool as mentioned by kglad.
Restart machine and then try to install again.
*** Make sure , you only delete these folders if there is no other adobe applications installed on the machine. As if you have any other Adobe application of the suite ( not free applications ) then it will be a problem.

  • Error message opening PS CS3 Extended : "Licensing for this product has stopped working"

I used Migration Assistant to transfer data from my (very) old Mac OS X to a new iMac OS X Yosemite. Before doing so, I uninstalled my (also very old) PS CS3 Extended. When I tried to open PS on the new Mac it asked me to download Java, which I did. But now when trying to open PS again the error message is "Licensing for this product has stopped working". I purchased it about 5 years ago in a box which I no longer have, but I do have the complete 24 digit serial number. How best do I remedy this?

I'm trying to migrate my CS4 from my old Mac to my new one. When trying to open photoshop, i get a message saying "Licensing for this product has stopped working." And "Error: 150:30" I don't know what to do from here. Can someone help me? Thanks.

"Migrating" and/or "transferring" an application is not just asking for trouble but demanding it!

  • Get "Licensing for this product has stopped working" error on my New Mac with old Adobe software

hi people, i've recently purchased a new machine and can't work out how to get Illustrator cs3 or photoshop cs5 working on it...
photoshop says "Licensing for this product has stopped working. you cannot use this product at this time. you must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help", which is strange as it said some different before i tried asking adobe support about this...
    illustrator says the same thing.
customer support said i need to ask here because they can't provide support for these products.

thanks for response, let's start the dialogue.
what OS version?: OS version 10.9.3
Have you deactivated Photoshop on the old machine? No, i am not inclined to try this as i do need a working version for work, customer support tells me that i've purchased a serial key but they won't tell me what it is, just that i could try using it...  can't find any reference to this on my machine though:(
On how many computers have you (or someone else) installed Photoshop and register with your license?1 i think..
Have you tried uninstalling, cleaning and re-installing? no, though i've tried to find out how and can't even manage that:(   went to the adobe site and could only find their creative cloud thing which requires me to pay monthly:/...
    thanks

  • Just updated my mac from Tiger to Mountain Lion. Loaded Photoshop elements 11 (brand new in the box) and when I try to start it - it comes up saying - Licensing for the product has stopped working contact for help.

I just updated my mac from Tiger to Mountain Lion.  wiped the computer clean and started fresh Loaded Photoshop elements 11 (brand new in the box) and when I try to start it - it comes up saying - Licensing for the product has stopped working contact for help. in Looking for help I was directed here. what do I do?

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package  I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation.  Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.
    I appreciate your responses.
    Thank you!
If this doesn't work - I am going to just buy Lightroom.

  • Changed battery in laptop and now when trying to open dreamweaver cs3, I get "licensing for this product has stopped working"... contact customer support (thats a laugh).  So what now?

Changed battery in laptop and now when trying to open dreamweaver cs3, I get "licensing for this product has stopped working"... contact customer support (thats a laugh).  So what now?
it says:  You cannot use this product at this time.  You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT admin or Adobe customer support for help.
Well it seems I am only able to install this on a maximum of 3 computers so if I uninstall and reinstall I may have used up all three.  What caused this in the first place?

And most licenses extend to 2 machines; not 3.  Your computer's clock probably reset when you changed batteries. Is your computer's clock set to the correct date and time now?

  • License for this product has stopped working cs3

I have cs3 web premium and premier elements and I was considering purchasing CS5 but until I can get a clear message AND PERMANENT SOLUTION to why I am now getting for the 5th time the error "license for this product has stopped working."  I was working on a important project and now I have to reinstall everything again.  This is such an issue that I have read the many many  "solutions" Adobe provides for this but I tried them and they did not work.  Adobe, what are you doing about this?

    Auntybertha
What version of Premiere Elements are you using?
I have Premiere Elements 4, 7, and 8 and have recently run into problems characterized by not being able to open any of the 3 versions that I have installed on the same computer. (I use one at a time.)
    Hunt as posted a link
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405970.html
where I would suggest that you especially look at Solution #2 regarding the FLEXnet Licensing Service.
This turned out to be the fix for my Premiere Elements, as well as the Photoshop Elements, for my opening failures for these programs.
Another possible consideration is to open a new computer User Account (with Administrative Priviledges) and run your Premiere Elements using that new User Account. That worked for me recently when the Photoshop Elements 8 Organizer would not open after just about every trick in the book.
Keep in mind that problems may have the same symptoms but different causes. Nonetheless, I would recommend this Solution #2 to your attention, and then, if necessary, a new User Account (with Administrative Priviledges). Premiere Elements is but one application in your computer environment, and many non Premiere Elements factors can enter into the performance of the Premiere Elements in that computer environment.
Please keep us updated on your progress.

  • Using PSE8 on a Mac, OS10.94. Error message "Licensing for this product has stopped working." Error 150:30 Followed all of Adobe's suggestions for the fix, nothing works. I need to know how to make this software work again. I also need contact details for

What, you want all that AGAIN?
    Windows here I come ...

Unfortunately when Adobe products are restored from backup, especial CS4 and especially Mac, it breaks licensing.
There is a python script included in the license recovery kit that should work if you are familiar with Terminal.
If not, you must reinstall your CS4 suite.  You don't need to delete your preferences, so it should be the same as before.

  • CS3 (attempting to use PS) Licensing for this product has stopped working

Searches have revealed several Threads on this subject, but those I have reviewed have either remained unanswered or where solutions have been found the information has not been fully shared.
    I am running a Mac Pro early 2008 2 x 2.8Ghz 4 Core, 8GB RAM and running Mac OS X 10.8.# Mountain Lion.
My problem seems to have started following an upgrade to my Start Up Disc from HDD to SSD.
Several rectification attempts were made by following all of the CS3 directions at:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html
Like others I found that the LicenceRecovery111.dmg would not function under Mac OS X 10.8.#
I also uninstalled everything Adobe, ran the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool and removed the multitude of remaining Adobe items manually.
Reinstallation was to nil avail because the dreaded message was still present.
The UK Adobe CS eventually escalated the problem to the next Level but even taking control of my Screen were unable to make any progress with only the following advice:
Please uninstall and reinstall by renaming the Adobe folder and try installation and launch And CS 3.0 is very older version and it is not tested on the latest version of Mac 10.8.2, And however you can try to uninstall and reinstall the software and we do not guarantee that it works fine.
I may have missed something along the way but this leaves me with the question:
Is CS3 incompatible with Mac OS X 10.8.#?
If anyone has any knowledge of this subject or can point me in the direction of an answer I will be most grateful. I no longer have justification to upgrade to CS6 and only occasionally use PS and AI, so hanging on to CS3 would be a good move.
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.
    Regards, G.

  • CS3 Licensing for this product has stopped working on Snow Leopard

Ok, I tried all the links, suggested, the solutions that Adobe suggested, emailed them today, see what responce I get, ran the Licensing fixer script, re-installed after using the uninstall and uninstall script, ran through all the suggestions they made, ran the installer disk with all options off, I am at the end of my rope here, nothing seems to be working, is there anyone else that might like to chime in here to see how I can even get CS3 working in Snow Leopard? I did a clean install of the OS and then time machine to add all the apps and docs back in, CS3 is the only app that is not working right now, that and the Qmaster from Compressor, think Apple would have fix that little nugget before releasing! DOH! I do need CS3 to work soon, I hope that maybe the next patch will work!

I had the same exact experience as all of these folks.  I bought Adobe CS3 and installed it on my MAC.  Upgraded my system to Snow leopard 10.6.7 and Adobe stopped working (license error message).  Notably, on my work computer I had the same error appear after uninstalling a couple of components of the application and reinstalling them again....so be aware of that as well.
My first step was to call the Adobe help desk where I was told after about a half hour that my system upgrade to snowleopard 10.6 made my system incompatible with Adobe.  I mentioned to the technician that I was sitting viewing the statement from Adobe in 2009 that these systems were tested to be compatible.  I was hung up on.  I called back and got another technician who told me the same thing and said there was nothing more they could do for my $1000 piece of software.
Anyway, enough ranting...don't go by the Adobe advice and the re-license software doesn't work (or at least it didn't for me).  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times to no avail.  I had to find all of my FLEXnet files and delete them.  This took forever because my finder didn't find them (nor did my spotlight).  I had to look for them and they were in three places (library, utilities, and within some of the individual application folders).  I deleted the entire folders.  I then deleted any file even remotely associated with Adobe. I then reinstalled with all of the applications unclicked. This is important. Then I added Photoshop.  You have to open that first to get the serial number prompt (Acrobat will just crash if you try to open it without loading and opening photoshop first).  Then I loaded Acrobat and that seems to be working.  It only took me 16 hours and my time is actually worth more than the price of the software but oh well, mission accomplished, I hope this helps someone.  What a complete festival of nonsense!
