OS9 Clients on 10.5.4 Server. Connects but cant modify

I have a few 9.2.2 clients on the network that have to be 9 due to legacy hardware. Anyhow the server is now 10.5.4 due to upgrade last week from 10.3.9. The OS9 clients now only see the server volumes and will mount them on the desktop but the icon is white not colored and the contents are unmodifiable. I get a file does not exist error every time I try to edit any file. I have DHCP turned on in the server and im connecting to the server via IP address in the TCP/IP settings. What am I missing?

To connect from Mac OS 8 or Mac OS 9:
1 Open the Chooser and click AppleShare.
2 Select a file server and click OK.
3 Enter your user name and password, or select Guest and then click Connect.
4 Select the volume you want to use and click OK.

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this atwww.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

I use my Ipad for email and surfing whilst traveling at air ports and hotesl.
Now some wifi sites ok but others sites I get connected but cant open web pages

If you gave some examples of which locations caused problems and details on what happened it would help to give advice. There are many different types of "free" WiFi at these sorts of places. The mechanisms used to allow you to access the wifi are varied, i.e., agreement web pages, credentials, userid/password, etc.
In some cases, the Safari Autofill feature has interfered with the sign on mechanism used. If this is the case this feature can be turned Off by going to Settings > Safari > Autofill and turning it Off.

Full bars, 3g connected, but cant access internet

It sounds like a poor data connection. I get the same thing when I try to use AT&T here in my house. It shows 4G and 3 bars but I get little to no data at all. If that is what is happening to you, you can try another carrier if there is one.
Here, I can get LTE at my house and about 10-15Mbps on T-Mobile. Switching carriers can make the difference.

You haven't provided much information, such as what type of router you have? If you entered the encryption key as the password as opposed to the router name you have selected? If you have WEP or WPA? What you've tried that didn't work, other than saying it doesn't work? So, below is a link to some assistance. Follow this and see if it helps you.........

Ea4500 FTP server - connects but that's it..

Have a security camera that will ftppics but when I enter ftpserver login it can't save.
So, everything is on the same 192 network. My pc client connects to the ftpserver fine but will not get a directory list, save a txt file, or do anything other than connect. My account has read/write and I don't get it..

Also don't disconnect the usb drive while the router is on unless you use the Safely Remove Disk feature.
Create the share using the router utility.

Wifi connected but cant use mail or safari

i posted this last night but cant find it now. anyone have issues connecting to wifi in an office or free wifi but cant use mail or safari?

Wireless Access Points, which are often integrated with your router, respond to DHCP requests in different ways for different devices. You can check the IP address assigned to your iPhone by going to Settings -> Wi-Fi and selecting the network you are joining.
Are you getting an IP address, router IP, and DNS server information? If not, hit the renew button at the bottom of this screen.
Is the network you are connecting to secure? If so, and using WEP, when you initially enter the key, make sure you select WEP Hex or ASCII instead of WEP Password.

Hotspot connected but cant browse

I have a blackberry curve 9300.
I had it set up for wifi connections together with my friend with the same unit.
We went to a hotspot zone and connect to it.
we both had connection with the wifi.
Below is displayed on the upper portion of our home screen
"mobile network name - wifi name"
we then used our browser.
My friend was able to connect but unfortunate for me I got the message.
"Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later. If the problem persists please contact ur service provider"
I have been searching for weeks on how to correct this. I got my new blackberry last March 2011.
Can anyone please help me.

Server connected but can't use images?

Hello to all. I am new to DW, but so far I've set up a basic .css file, and I'm trying to use images from my server, which said it's connected successfully, but when I try to edit my background-image, the server button isn't clickable. How do I use pictures from my server that I know I'm connected to?

my website is http://asc.pcassistant.net/dreamweaver/index.htm My backgound image is working fine, but my header and content images aren't showing up, also, my header and footers have extended to the left where I only want the background image to show. BTW, my body background image has black space built into the image, I couldn't figure out any other way to have images on the side and only black in the middle.

Since you can't connect to the internet then you really do not have a connection. The upper left can show wifi fans but till not have a connection. Have y tried the troubleshooting here:

Also when you go to the network setting on the iPod what IP address and DNS server, and gateway are specified?

3g Connected but "cant; connect to internet try later often .WHY?

I AM connected to a 3g 2 Gb I compose a mail and when I want to sent it I get a message across the page saying." cannot conect to hotmail please check that you are connected which I did 5 times still Zilch! nut! nine! nothing!

I had a similar incident last fall. For some unknown reason, after having all our systems connect to Airport/Internet perfectly for years, it suddenly stopped connecting, even though I had a strong Airport signal.
After some troubleshooting, I found that if I applied security to my network it refused to connect, and would ONLY connect if the security was left off. We live in a residential area where all our neighbours/friends have wireless, so I had no alternative but to leave the security off, something I have never done. No matter what I tried it would not connect once security was applied, so I left it off. (Interestingly, if security was applied I had those yellow dots in Network Prefs, too.)
Recently, I thought I'd try it again and apply security and it worked first time, and normally, like it always did, so security is back on. I have no idea to this day why for a number of weeks it refused to connect if there was security, but would connect no problem without security. All is back to normal now, thankfully.
I don't know if this will help you at all, but thought I'd mention it so you can try your network without security and then applying it - see if there's any difference.

Using wireless internet on macbook...its says i'm connected but cant pull up any web pages

I'm staying with a friend, using her internet connection wirelessly, worked fine for 2 days, now my macbook says I'm connected to the internet, but can't get any webpages to pull up at all. It just says connecting....them request timed out try again. I've logged out, logged back in...no luck, took out battery, no luck...help please!

Look at the IP address in your Network preference pane under AirPort and TCP/IP. Does the IP address start with 169?

Facetime always connecting but cant get through

Why can't i use my facetime anymore on my the new ipad after updating to io6, its always saying connecting until it will drop.. And when i tried to sign in again the facetime it will tell you that the username and password is incorrect even if its not. Im in UAE. Ita work with ios5 after updating this is the problem, please help because. This is the reason why i bought apple to communicate with my family

With you being in the UAE maybe the reason why facetime isn't working, as it has been restricted by the government.

Wifi showing connected but cant get on internet

Dear friends, I have a Blackberry Torch 9800
Version details:
6.0 bundle 2949 (v6.0.0.668, Platform 6.6.0.236)
WLAN version 4.3.0.97
My problem is that BB connects to the wifi router but whenever i try to use facebook or twitter or browser, the message appears as there is no data plan to support this service. BB always tries to connect to internet via my mobile network, despite being connected to wifi.
service status shows the following info for Wifi network:
Active Profile : [ssid_name]
SSID : [ssid_name]
Type: 802.11b/g/n
I have absolutely no idea why this is happening?

since i updated to IOS 7.0.3, i cant download any app; i always get the "impossible to download the app" message as if i wouldnt have internet connection.

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
