OSA .. Assign Appraisal Models to Personnel (Sub)Areas/Employee (Sub)Groups

Hi all,
I am using OSA and I am trying to assign appraisal templates to certain employees. The old "Assign Appraisal Models to Personnel (Sub)Areas/Employee (Sub)Groups" does not seem to work.. could I be doing something wrong? How does this functionality work in the new module of OSA . can anyone help me out?

    We need Multi- Language Appraisal models so that end-user in the ESS portal can choose what language they prefer during maintenance of appraisal form for BEs.
    In our Appraisal Catalog, there are already created identical Appraisal Models but in different languages. In English and in German.
    When I assign Appraisal models in PP01 to BETs, I can only choose 1 of these Appraisal Model (English or German). So the Appraisal model that appears in the Portal can only be English or German depending on what you've assigned to the BETs in PP01. Users cannot choose whether they prefer appraisals in English or German.
    We are trying to implement a functionality where users can choose the language they want.
    How do I do this? Does it involve customization of the Appraisals Catalog table.

    Hi Olekan,
    to do the assignment with several Appraisal models to one BET is not this easy thing. Let me explain you why:
    You can assign to one BET two different app. models ->
    > BE appraisal
    > Attendee appraisal
    These are related to the BET with different relationships. The point now is that you can assign with PE transasction (PVD0) ONLY ONE APP.MODEL TO ONE BET WITH THE SAME RELATIONSHIP.
    Theoretically you can do more by changing the Time constraint of this relationship. I think you will be able than to assign more App. Model in PP01  after changed the Time constr. BUT THIS IS NOT A PE TRANSACTION. Whether the application will enable you to choose from these realted objects while running it is not sure. This is a design issue, that the PD transaction (PP01) and the PE transaction (PVD0) don't have the same logic.
    I can show you another example to understand my point of view:
    if you create a Web-link to the Event in PE transaction while creating an event you are able only attaching one link. BUT if you do maintaining in Change modus on the event in PP01 you will be able to assign more Web-links..
    In this case the situation works, you are able to page between the links later, the multi-assignment is accepted by the app.
    Please check whether in our case the app. accepts the multi assignment with PP01 and whether you are able to show on ESS portal side the option to choose.

  • Mutliple Appraisal Models (TEM)

    Hi Experts!
    I need some help regarding appraisal models.
    The business requirements are:
    Appraisal models can be assigned to Business Events (BE) and Business Event Type (BET) in PP01.
    1. Only 1 Appraisal Model will be assigned per BE at any given time.
    2. Multiple Appraisal Model can be assigned per BET at any given time.
    The different Appraisal Models are:
    AA– Event Appraisal (Appraiser: Attendee)
    BB– Attendee Appraisal (Appraiser: Event)
    CC– Event Appraisal (Appraiser: Supervisor)
    There are two relationship that assign appraisal models to BEs and BETs
    A058 – Has attendee apprsl model (Time Constraint currently set to "2")
    A057 – Has event apprsl model (Time Constraint currently set to "2")
    Problem no. 1  Appraisal Model for BEs – Single Appraisal Model at any given time
    Since A058 and A057 are different relationships how can I configure it so that, once one of these two relationships already exists, you cannot create a new appraisal model without delimiting the previous one? (wether its A058 or A057)
    NOTE: This configuration must not affect the relationships used for BETs since it have different requirements.
    Requirement 2 - Appraisal Model for BETs – Multiple Appraisal Model
    I would need to set Time Constraint of A058 – Has Event apprsl model to “3” – Unlimited  to accommodate Appraisal models AA and CC which are both Event Appraisals.
    Problem no. 2 These two relationships are used when we maintain either BE or BETs. Only one time constraint can exist for each of this relationship at any given time.
    The problem is that the requirement for BEs and BETs needs two differing sets Time Constraints for these two relationships.
    I will give away points to those who can help.

  • Deletion of Appraisal Model

    Dear Friends,
    I am trying to delete Appraisal Model from Appraisal Catalogue. But an error msg comes that this Appraisal Model is still in use and can't be deleted. I do have used the Appraisal Model for some personnel numbers but I had deleted all those personnel numbers.

    Hi Sipra,
    Try some of these things : Go to appchange > select appraisal model and personnel number for  which you want to delete-in the next screen you can see delete option try using this option.
    But sometimes this option is greyed out if your appraisal is in completed status.
    It it is so go in infotype-25(Objective setting and appraisal received tab)  of those personnel numbers and try deleting record from there.

  • Changing or Deleting Standard Employee Sub Groups

    Dear All,
    I am creating a new Personnel Structure. The abbreviations that I want to use for my personnel Sub Groups are already used in the standard. Now all I want to ask is that should I delete the standard Employee Sub Groups and make my own with the abbreviations that I want or should I change the existing Employee Sub Groups and use them as my own? Some one told me once that you should never delete or change anything from the standard and now I am confused as to what I should do. If I change or delete the existing Employee Sub Groups will that have any negative effect on the system?

    I think you should be able to leverage the existing employee subgroups - just make sure the way they have been currently configured for all rules and schemas for the standard system works for your scenarios as well. If not, you may need to change all those related tables and features and schemas and rules as needed.

    Hi,
    Personnel Subareas are the subdivision of Personnel Area and it is a must to define a pay scale  area, pay scale type and one holiday calendar for each personnel subarea.
    It is also important to keep the control features in mind while defining the personnel sub area:
    1. Specifying the country grouping; this controls the dialog for entering country-specific personnel data and the setting up and processing of wage types and pay scale groups in Payroll; within a company code, the country grouping must be unambiguous
    2. Assigning a legal entity to differentiate between the individual companies from a legal point of view
    3. It specifies groupings for Time Management. This enables you, for example, to set up work schedules, substitution types, absence types, and leave types on the basis of a specific personnel subarea.
    4. The personnel subarea is a selection criterion for evaluations.
    5. The personnel subarea is used to generate default values for pay scale area and pay scale type for an employeeu2019s basic pay.
    6. It specifies the public holiday calendar.
    7. Defining personnel subarea-specific wage types per personnel area
    8. It assigns a legal person for payroll.

  • Can NUMKR feature be used for personnel sub areas

    Can you please help in finding out if NUMKR feature be used to assign the number ranges for personnel sub areas??
    Currently we are using company code to determine the Number ranges. I have also tried with personnel areas. Its working fine.
    My query is, if, a company has about 5 personnel areas, and each personnel area has about 3 sub areas, then how to proceed with the number ranges. Sub areas should be capturing the number ranges respectivily.

  • Doubt  with Personnel sub areas

    Dear Experts,
    Here we have a requirement to change the existing  Personnel Sub Areas  to new PSAreas.In the existing system we have 5 PSA and as per requirement we have to delete  the existing  PSA and have to include around 10 new PSA s.How we have to map the new psa for already existing employees.
    What is the implications  for the existing employeeswhen we delete existing psa and inclusion of new ps areas.

    Hi,
    As you said you have 5 PSA before and now you want to create 10 new PSA and assign the employees to these new PSAs.
    1. Create the 10 new PSAs and maintain all their attributes as you did for earlier 5 PSAs
    2. If you want to keep a track then probably you can create an ACTION with text CHANGE PSA and in the INFOGROUP for this action use the INS for IT0000 and IT0001 in COPY mode .
    Now you can create a BDC program (  ask your ABAPer) and upload all the data for employees with new PSAs
    If you dont wish to create an ACTION then as earlier suggested by other members you can just load data to IT0001 with LSMW .
    or BDC using PA30 with IT0001 copy and only change the PSA and begin date.
    I dont think deleting the old PSAs will be advisable as it would be required for historical data.

  • Changing Personnel Sub Areas Post Go-Live

    I have a situation where the client wants to discontinue use of certain Personnel Sub-areas and do a mass change of employees in those PSA's to existing PSA's, as well as possibly reassign Employee Groups and ESG's.
    If PA/OM integration is turned on, what is the easiest, least painful method of accomplishing this?
    I'd like to make the change on the OM side and have it be inherited on the PA side, IT0000/0001.

    This is not a solution but rather sharing some experience.
    I am in a similar situation in my current place: Company Code was created excessively without knowing the actual usage of it by FI. Most of it doesn't represent actual legal entity. Because of this mess this client has issues when wanting to implement other SAP modules like logistic,SD etc. Now they are in the 'clean up' process. But because it has impacted HR as well, situation becomes really messy. To make things worst in HR, Personnel Areas are also created not in a manner that it should be. Now these too need to be cleaned up (not because of logistic, SD implementation but now their users make noise because their employee data are so messy .... users are HR professionals so they can see..). But we proposed the clean up of Personnel Areas to be done at later stage once the Company Code is cleaned. This is also because changing Personnel area, subarea for a productive system is more risky as you need to consider retroactivity when it comes to Time Eval and Payroll. In our case for example, as Company Code need to be cleaned up retroactively, this impact all payroll, time, and Travel & Expense clusters.
    Moral of the story:
    - Adequate end user training as well as IT support training must be provided
    - System procedure documentation must be provided and followed by the client
    - Good IT support who knows the business process is required so that any enhancement to the delivered system is done in a manner that it should be. Not just anyhow create!

  • Create/Copy Personnel Sub Areas

    What is the difference if I create Personnel Sub Areas using the two options available in  SPRO > Enterprise Structure> Definition> Human Resources Management > Personnel Sub Areas > 1) Copy,delete, check personnel sub area and 2) Create personnel sub areas?
    It seems that if you select Copy,delete, check personnel sub area, it allows you to copy from one sub area to already existing sub area. Then why should i not create the sub areas with second option only?

    There are many parameters (like see below)  attached to a personnel subarea. If you create subarea from scratch then you have to maintain them manually, if you copy from similar personnel subarea they are copied as well.

    Personnel Subarea Grpg for Substitution/Availability Types

    i know this transaction PHAP_PREPARE_PA which will create mass Appraisal Doc's but i want to create Appraisal which can be stored in Infotype 0025.
    Plz suggest.

    the basic difference you are looking at is the old appraisal model
    and the new MBO
    the old appraisal model very much supports infotype 25 and you can view the data in there,
    but once you activate the MBO you cannot have the old module active practically.
    In the PHAP_prepare_pa transaction can be used for mass dipatch of appraisal documents,
    select the second option for the same in the list .
    The second option will allow you to select org unit which will  allow to assign to all employees in the selected org. Unit.

    Hi,
    SAP provides standard templates to proceed with appraisal cycle.
    one should be aware of using the existing appraisal templates and if they are not suitable we can create our own templates.
    Before getting into appraisal firstly get all the requirements from client and the start point of appraisal and end point of appraisal i.e, ratings.
    after getting all the required things you can start with OSA  (objective setting and appraisal).
    there are standard workflows to complete the ratings....
    on top of this get familiar with the objects like VA, VB, VC and other objects of appraisals.

  • Defining / Assigning Employee Groups and Sub Groups.

    I have defined a Personnel Area for e.g Barron Hotels - London  BH01 and Barron Hotels - Manchester - BH02.  I have also defined  there respective Personnel Subareas.
    What exact steps much I take to define the Employee Group and Employee Sub Groups and how do I link (Assign) them to corresponding  the Personnel Area  and Personnel subareas  defined above.
    Can some one please show me the exact steps. I have heard SM30  and V_503_ALL  mentioned but how  exactly are these used.

    There is no link between EG-ESGs and Personnel Area -Subareas..  All these form an Enterprise Structure for an organisation and it can be seen against an employee in IT0001 - Org Assignment.
    Well, you have created PA as well as PSAs.  Now what you do is, similarly create EG- ESGs.. say for example..
    Emplyee Groups as A- Associate, B- Managers... etc...
    Employee Subgropus as A1, A2,..  B1, B2.. etc...
    Path: IMG-> Enterprise structure->Definition->Human Resources Management-> Employee Groups and
    -> Employee Subgroups
    When you create Personnel Areas.. you need to assign them to a Company Code...
    Path: IMG-> Enterprise structure->Assignment->Human Resources Management-> Assign Personnel Area to Company Code
    Similarly, when you create Employee Subgroups, you assign it to Employee Groups (EGs)
    Path: IMG-> Enterprise structure->Assignment->Human Resources Management
    -> Assign employee subgroup to employee group
    Next is the table you mentioned in your query... V_503_ALL... this clubs the groupings for -> ES grouping for collective agreement provision, Employee subgroup grouping for primary wage types, time quota types, work schedule etc,,, these are according to company requirements..
