OSA issues

hi,
i have configured the OSA template , in the top level of the template i have selected all the available enhancements for the template , but im not able to see all of the enhancement in the further template behaviour , how do i get to see all the enahancements in there, i only see
Default Execution Period
Default Appraisal Document Name
Default Part Appraiser
Maximum Number of Part Appraisers
Default Validity Period
Default Review Date
Default Appraisee
Default Appraiser
All other enahncements are not visible in this list.

Hi sameer,
All enhancemnts won't be available in furthertemplate behaviour..You have to add them manually.
 1 .Goto Trnx OOHAP_BASIC,choose Enhancement area.
For example if you want to add Likage enhancement, selct AX.
 2 .Then select the Enhancement folder.
 3 .Clik new and add your enhancement here.
 4 .Trnx PHAP_CATALOG ->template in edit mode ->In Furthr template enhancements -> Clk add bt and choose the enhancemnt u want.

Hi experts,
Im working on OSA Appraisals and using BSP Application HAP_DOCUMENT. we want to do some validations in the header portion. For example, if user is not authorized to create appraisal for a particular date(based on his join date), we need to inform him a message in a popup window.I know about the BADI HRHAP00_DOC_DEF_DV.But i want to display the popup when the user clicks the SAVE button.Could anyone tell me the way to control it? Can it controlled from front end(BSP)? if so, which page i hav to write the code ?

Error in Template creation in OSA

HI ,
We are in process of implementation of OSA , i have done all configurations on the Development system , it works fine , but when i do the same on to the quality or the production server i encounter the following detail error , the system shows An unexpected technical error has occurred when you create a template in the appraisal catalog.

Diagnosis
A technical error has occurred. There could be several reasons for it.
Procedure
Use the following steps to look for a solution:
1. Start the report RHHAP_CHECK_CUSTOMIZING_TABLES and check the results for any errors.
2. If there are no errors in the results list, look at collective note 0497777. There may already be a description and a solution for you problem in a related note.
3. If this does not help, write a problem message (component PA-PD-PM). Give us information about the transaction or report you started and how you started it. The best way is to give us a detailed description of the parameters you set, the actions you performed, and so on.
This information helps us to reproduce the problem in our systems and give you a quick response and solution to the problem.
If we cannot reproduce the problem in our test systems we have to ask you for a remote connection so we can reproduce the problem in your system.
*****All the patch levels are same in all three servers , still the error persists .
Please help me out guys.

Go to t-code SM34 and compare these 4 clusters between your dev and prd systems. Any differences in these clusters may be causing this issue.

I've encountered a browser hijack issue

Note: I feel compelled to warn everyone that unless you're comfortable fixing a potential malware infection you should be careful in recreating my problem. I didn't plan to make the following URLs into actual links, but apparently the board does it automatically.
I know OS X is apparently malware free, but I'd rather err on the side of caution.
I was doing political research and Googled for "Queens County Democrats." This is the results URL:

The first time I clicked the resulting link I landed on a clickfarm. The second and subsequent times I was redirected to monkeyball.osa.pl, a known browser hijack for PCs.
But if you directly use the URL for the site, queenscountydems.com, it works fine.
I've reproduced this same issue on the MacBook of an employee here — I'm at a coffee shop run by friends, and they just got a new router. However, said employee tried it again at home and got the same result, which they think means it's the Democrats' site or Google. I didn't mention that it could also mean their computer could have contracted malware.
So is it the political party's site? Google's results? The router here? Or have I discovered and been infected by a Mac browser hijack?

I see the same thing here, and I'm already using the OpenDNS servers. That won't fix it. The problem is not related to DNS, which would cause any attempt to go to the site directly to also fail. The problem is SEO poisoning, a technique by which a hacker can get malicious links or scripts into Google's search results. This issue is completely on Google's end, and in no way related to the computer. If you were to try this on ANY device, you should see the same thing (as peter_watt has indicated).
SEO poisoning is a serious threat these days. It's the primary method that the MacDefender trojans used to display fake anti-virus sites to unsuspecting users a year ago.

Part appraisals as part of OSA Status Overview in MSS?

I'm in the middle of a clarification phase regarding implementation of Objective Setting and Appraisal (OSA). This is my question regarding part appraisals:
In the Status Overview page/iview in MSS, the manager can prepare, see, select and modify documents with statuses like In preparation, In Planning and In Process.
If a document has the substatus "Part appraisal in process", and the manager is the first part appraiser, I would expect the document to open the part appraisal column for input when I select the document from the "In Process" column. Instead the document is opened with the Final Appraisal column open for input.
How can you include a managers part appraisal documents in the Status Overview page, or have the part appraisal column open for input?
We want to make the Status Overview the "one point of access" for the managers appraisal tasks, but is that possible within standard?

Hi Henrik,
Is your issue resolved, we did notice the similar behavior. However if BSP application HAP_DOCUMENT/documents_todo.htm is called directly, it displays the Part appraisal first and then upon completion it displays Final appraisal.
I plan on providing this as URL in MSS as an alternative till OSS status overview is fixed.
Any info ?

Bug in Oracle Installer when adding OSA?

Hi everyone,
after unsuccessfully trying to add Oracle Advanced Security to my existing setup (every program tells me, that I don't have the required algorithms installed), I found the following in the 9i Administrator Reference:
Quote: "When you install Oracle Advanced Security, three .bak files are created: naeet.o.bak, naect.o.bak, and naedhs.o.bak. These files are located in the $ORACLE_HOME/lib directory. They are required for relinking during deinstallation of Oracle Advanced Security."
This is corresponds to my knowledge that these files contain the required protocols and algorithms.
After checking my lib directory, however, I found out, that those files weren't touched by the installer and there weren't any .bak files either. A call of 'nm' on each of them confirmed that the required symbols aren't in there.
Does anyone know what I could do to install the correct files? I somehow doubt that removing OSA from the installation and adding it again will do the trick...

The problem went away. I think it was a bug getting triggered
by setting the selected items after I had updated the dataProvider
and refreshing the tree.
I was having another issue where the selectedItems were lost
after updating the tree. I fixed it by setting selectedItems using
callLater() because setting it immediately after updating the tree
dataProvider was not working as the selection was lost anyways.
using callLater to do this fixed the selection issue and now
apparently also the issue with a section of the tree being
obscured.

Issue with new abap webdynpro INBOX EHP5

Hello Experts,
I'm currently working on the configuration of ESS/MSS services in EHP5. We are using different services like Appraisal OSA, Learning solution,etc. I already configured the Launchpad ESS, it's working fine but now I have an issue with the new Abap webdynpro INBOX. The employee and manager see their workitem notifications correctly in their respective inbox.(I'm calling application: IBO_WDA_INBOX that I integrated in my launchpad).
My problem is that when clicking on a workitem in order that it opens me the appraisal document (in edit or display mode), I got an error saying: "There is no iView available for system "": object "SWF_WIOBN". For more information, contact your administrator."
I did some search on SAP help without any results. I'm wondering how should I register workflow tasks? I saw there is a table called IBO_C_WF_TAS (I added entries e.g:
IBO_WDA_INBOX TS99700031   EXECUTEAPPRAISALDOCUMENT).
I tried also to register all my custom tasks in transaction SWFVISU.
example:
TASK: TS99700013
Visualization Type: ABAP Webdynpro
APPLICATION:    HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT
DYNPARAM   :    sap-wd-configId=HAP_AC_MAIN_DOC
NAMESPACE :    sap

Could you let me know what could be wrong, what I missed? Shall I create an iView, if yes which one? which properties?

Thanks for you reply. Still the same issue. Following are the config I did till now:
In the PCD I created a new business object (SWF_WIOBN), an operation linked to the object (NAVIGATE).
I did create an iView (powl) in the custom folder, I integrated the operation within iView. I created a page that contains the iView.
In the properties of the iView I gave:
Application Name: HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT.
Launch in New Window: "Display in separate Headerless Portal Window".
System: SAP_ECC_HumanResources
I added the required entries in tables:
IBO_C_WF_TTAS
IBO_C_WF_ACS
IBO_V_WF_TAC
IBO_V_WF_TTAC
etc...
I saw in the code of linked feeder class: CL_IBO_INBOX_FEEDER_WI that it's checking something called "Launch_Editor".. Is it a property that we can set somewhere?
Following are the parameters retrieved by system:
BO_NAME       = SWF_WIOBN
BO_OP_NAME = NAVIGATE
LAUNCHER_PARAMETERS -> empty.??
BO_RESOLVE_MODE = USER_SET_OF_ROLES
LAUNCH_EDITOR empty where must be set?
At the end I still get the error:
There is no iView available for system "": object "SWF_WIOBN". For more information, contact your administrator.

OSA Fails to Launch on Windows 2000

Installing an application that runs only with Oracle 9i. The Vendor has packaged the OSA and the Oracle CDs.
The OSA is suppose to launch, using JRE 1.4.2. And setups "Install Anywhere by Zero G"
It does not want to launch the GUI as the Local Admin Account or any account local to the machine...
HOWEVER
If we Remote Desktop to the Machine; then the OSA GUI will Launch...
Question 1: Why would the OSA launch as a User Via Remote Desktop? But not Launch on itself? or by VNC either for that Matter?
Question 2: The Vendor has lists of errors with creating its database via remote Desktop, but I was thinking I could install Oracle 9i using the OSA via Remote Desktop... any issues with this? Then I'd launch the App on the local machine that creates a database, etc....

What is OSA?
Who is the vendor?
What is the product?
9i is in desupport. You are installing something that is still-born. Why?
Generally speaking Oracle management requires a "real" access. The remote Desktop has many issues.
Seems to me you should throw this software back at the vendor and find something based on 10gR2 with a guarantee from the vendor that they will always support you with currently supported versions of the database. What you are describing is a nightmare scenario.

If you have questions concerning Performance Management make sure OSA is mentioned somewhere in the title or body. It seems the search finds this keyword the most reliant.
I weekly do a search to answer PA-PD-PM (OSA/ Performance Manager) questions.

"New" and "old" appraisals at the same time (OSA and Perf module)

Hi All,
We currently use the old Performance Appraisals system (APPCREATE, BA object), but we are planing to switch to the new one - Objective Setting and Appraisals module (HAP00 REPLA switch).
My questions are.
- After switching the appraisal system, old appraisals will be available at the same time, too?
- Are there any transaction to view the old appraisals (APPDISPLAY, or else?)
- On IT0025 we will see only the new appraisals, or all of them?
Do anyone have experiences on this issue?

hi Marta,
i have started directly with osa in 2006 so i barely touched the old mbo appraisals in it25 (besides a migration project). Anyway I wouldn't be surprised if the transactions were well separated, which means that you could easily copy and make your own transaction for the old appraisals, for the technical users. For the business users i would suggest to write an implementation for the hrhap00link badi, where you print out in a smartform the last one or two "old" appraisals of the appraisee.

Course Appraisal (OSA-LSO)

I have created a OSA template for Providing feedback to the courses attended my the employees...The problem is that in the Template the course field shows all the courses that are in the system instead of only the courses attended or completed by the employee....
I have tried maintaining "Add Booked Courses" for fixed Enhancement in the, But does not help.
Appreciate any input on the same.

Appraisals (OSA) - Integration with ECM

Hi
We want to integrate Appraisals (OSA) with Enterprise Compensation Management. Could you plz. let me know what all the settings we need to make in order to send the rating information individually (EE Rating, Mgr. Rating, etc...) to ECM module and also what settings we need to make so that the Compensation of the Appraisees adjusted according to the
rating given by the different people (ex: EE, Mgt etc..).
I mean whenever employee appraises himself and rates there should be a change in the compensation and whenever mgr gives his/her rating again compensation should be adjusted automatically... ultimately whenver the overall rating is given again the compensation should be adjusted automatically.
Could you please help me with the above issue??

Thanx for your response. I am sorry I dont think this helps us ..... with the settings mentioned by you it is possible to integration ECM with Appraisals and then we can send the overall appraisal automatically but not each level's ratings. Any thoughts on this issue ?????????

OSA : Approve button disabled.

Hi,
We have implented OSA model for Appraisals.Using the BSP Applcation HAP_DOCUMENT.If an employee(further participant) logs in,the Approve/Reject button is disabled in the page 'documents_where_participated.htm'.
For the same user,it's works fine in R/3 who uses the Trnx PHAP_CHANGE_PA .
Any help will be much Appreciated.

I hav tried that already, Evn if i set the 'Person Authorized' to '0 All Users', the same situtaion(Approve bt diabled) persists.
Wht i did is, i set the authorization of that field to 'Higher level mgr' and while running the appln BSP/HAP_DOCUMENT/document_where_participated.htm from the higher level mgrs login id.
and also it's not working for '0 All users'.
Is it a configuration issue or whether i hav to modify the std page in HAP_DOCUMENT.

How is OSA using roles from T77HAP_ROLE.

in the objective setting and aprpaisal (OSA) module, there are several standard roles in table T77HAP_ROLE, like MA=manager and ME=self etc. These roles can be maintained using t-code OOHAP_BASIC.
I am trying to understand how is OSA using these roles....as per the sap help
"There is no relation between the roles in the Objective Setting and Appraisals component and the role concept delivered by SAP. "
Are these roles mapped to R/3 roles in the backend? are there any evaluation paths that correspond to these roles?
if I need to create a new custom role for OSA using t-code OOHAP_ADMIN, what else do I need to do apart from creating the role in OOHAP_BASIC (do I need to do any role mapping, create evaluation paths etc) so that the system is able to use the new roles?

Hi Niel,
I just tried this and do not get the error you mentioned. The project role ID is exactly the same in the original project that the template was created out of, template and new project. I am on SP09, so if you are on a lower support package it might be a bug.
However, I did notice that I get the warning if I have the same project role ID withing a project. Since this is only an "external ID" and internally the system does uses GUID, I doubt this would cause any issue. I have not noticed this warning in the past, however, I have seen the functionlity of creating templates out of operational projects and subsequently using those templates without any issues.
