OSA - Part Appraisal Column Contents not saved

Hi All:
We are implementing OSA in ERP 2005. We have implemented the header access BADI, that lets the employee change the part appraiser during the appraisal process. But when the part appraiser is changed, all the comments entered in the notes by the previous part appraiser is deleted.
We would like to retain the notes entered by the previous part appraisers ( just like how it works fine for "Appraisers").
Can we add additional code in the header access BADI to save the notes column and not delete and add a new one.
Or is there an OSS note. I looked in the market place could not find one.

Hello Iliana,
This is not possible. The reason for it is following. An appraiser is assigned to a document, a part appraiser is assigned to a part appraisal column with an unique part appraisal ID.
If you replace the part appraiser we perform 2 actions, delete the old part appraiser. Here his notes are deleted. And create a new part appraisal column with a new ID for the new part appraiser.
We would not have a possibility to display the old notes on the document even if we did not delete them.

Part Appraiser Column in R/3 - not visible

Hello,
I'm facing trouble in getting the Part Appraiser column in OSA document within R/3. I've configured Appr. template with FAPP column with access to change for the Part Appraiser. Also the elements - Objectives are given individual access to the Part Apprsr.
I'm suspecting if there is an authorization issue here. I'm using SAP_ALL access for testing purposes and still cant view the details in the Appraisal Document.
Can you give me some direction on this please.

Ok, this is the scenario.
Part appraiser is the manager itself. It's basically been setup to achieve the mid year review. So its the same manager doing the Mid/Yearly review.
Now, when Mgr logs in, he is able to maintain the weightages and Final Appraisal columns. Mgr login is not able to see Part appraiser columns in editable.
We are on ECC6.

Part Appraisal column in appraisal document

   In a template we have one appraise , one appraiser and one role as part appraiser...
In R/3 that part appraiser column is coming in the editable mode.. but in standard BSP itself that part appraisal column is coming in the display mode always//
is there any solution for this..?
i need that column in editable mode..

If in R/3 its coming in editable mode and only in BSP Page (HAP_DOCUMENT) its coming in Non-editabl emode, then I will ask you to check the Implementation for the BADI "HRHAP00_ACC_HEADER"....
Note -
1) The filter name (Filter created for the Implementation of the BADI) is assigned in the Appraisal Template as follow..
    Transaction PHAP_CATALOG -> Select the Template -> Processing Tab -> Further Template Behaviour -> Enhancement Area
    name = "Header Access",
2) Inside this implemetation (hope you will find one in the step1, they case code with the UI_MODE, which differntiates BSP and R3

Form content not saved

I have filled in a form in a PDF with acrobat X on a mac. Then I saved the PDF and mailed it. The reciever cant view the content. Neither can I on Acrobat X. Its is viewable on the application Preview on the Mac.
Is there a "save with formcontent" or something on Acrobat. I also saved it the form with Preview. same result. Form content not there in acrobat reader or pro x, but viewable and OK in Preview.

PMS OSA - Part appraisal at any state

Hi Experts,
One of our requirement is to get feedback from part appraisers at any stage of the appraisal process i.e., 'In Planning', 'In Review' and 'In Process' states. However, as per help, i read that feedback from Part Appraisers can only be obtained when the appraisal form in state 'In Process'. This is one of our key requirement. How can we achieve this?

HI Anupama,
Please ensure that you are accessing the part appraiser document, only for the Part Appraiser document the Part Appraiser ID adn roles are shown.
Be dafault Phap_admin_pa only shows the main appraisal document. In order to view the part appraisal documnet, add the part appraisers in the selection screen besides the part appraisrs and then execute, the output will give u all part documents and appraisal document type should be "part document".

Content not saving

Hi,
I have created a form using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. I Extended Features in Adobe Reader and saved it to my organizations Shared folder for managers and employees to utilize. I have received some feedback from users that they have added their content into the form, saved it to their desktop and then when they open it back up the content is gone. Users in the organization have different versions of Adobe Reader ranging from 8 to 11 on PC. Has anyone else run into this problem? Can the content they thought was saved be restored?
Any insight into this is very much appreciated.

Replying to my own post...
It's looking to me that while StringBuffer is serializable, it does not meet the definitions of a Javabean, in that it doesn't have externally accessable get/set methods. That means that XMLEncoder can't get at it's guts to do it's magic.
Wrapping up stringbuffer in a bean that gives it those get/set methods solved my original issue - it serializes/deserializes into XML just fine now. (Maybe someone someday will add those two teeny tiny methods into the core language? Nahhh....)
Does anyone know if there are other core classes that will also fail with XMLEncode/decode, especially ones that work normally with serialization that might bite us in the rear? I couldn't find much information on specific limitations of XMLEncode anywhere, so it might be nice to post here for future searchers...

Fiori Theme Designer: Target Content not saved

Hello,
I have created a theme based on the blue crystal theme. At first I entered the link to the application (URL to launchpad) and add the name of the application (eg "Launchpad").
Now I press the "Add" button and a new entry is created as shown in the following screenshot:
Next I do some customization and save + build my changes. If I now access my launchpad, the changes were applied.
When I close the browser with the theme designer or just go back to the theme overview and load again my custom theme, the previously added target application ("Launchpad") is not more there (if I again add the link to my launchpad and give a name I can see, that all adaptions are loaded correctly in the preview mode, so in genereal, the changes are stored correctly, but my application target "Launchpad" not.)
Is there a way to restore the prev. set target?

Hi Patrick,
It has been a few months since I worked with Theme Designer, but the application targets never were saved, nor do I think they are meant to be saved. Since I suspect themes to be only infrequently modified for a specific application, I don't see much of a rationale for saving those links.

Appraisal BSP form not saving in IE

We created an appraisal form that works fine in transaction PHAP_CHANGE_PA.
But when we access the BSP (HAP_DOCUMENT), the form presents a problem with Internet Explorer: it does not save, it only reloads the form with the old information. It happens with IE6 and IE7, but it works properly with Firefox2.
The problem only occurs in production system. The form works fine in DEV and QA. But we created a form directly in PRD that works fine, even though we haven't fixed the layout yet. The problem is that almost 2000 appraisals have already been created in the first form.
Any ideas? Or is there a way to migrate the appraisals that are already done to a new form?

Hi, we found out that during the form construction, a field of style was left with the following html code, which was closing the form before its end.

Firefox and IE have different behaviors when this code happens twice and the opening code happens once.

Column settings not saved to iPod/iTunes

Hi all.
After my iTunes updated to v7.2.0.34, every time i close it and reopen, my iPod window keeps showing original columns. IE, i uncheck columns like Last Played, My Rating and Play Count, then close iTunes, open it back and columns are back again.
I have used the Restore button for my iPod then sync'ed my entire library again, no success.
Related soft/hardware: Windows XP Pro/Vista 32-bit, iPod video 5G 60Gb, latest iTunes/Quicktime.
My other Nano 4Gb do save this information.
Any clues?

It's a bug that's been discussed here before. I find it annoying too that I have to keep re-opening things like "show browser".
Please send Apple a reminder to change this odd behaviour in the next iTunes release.

Column widths not saving

Hello,
We have recently found an issue with column widths e.g When you are in a sales order and you press tab in the item no. field, the list of items comes up. If you go to form settings and choose to group by one of the fields it then shows the items grouped by whatever you chose. If you then change the column widths in this window, e.g for item no. and item
description and then come out of that screen and go back in, the column widths have gone back to
how they were oringinally.
SAP Support have said they have managed to reproduce this in both versions. Please can I request this to be fixed in a future patch release as it is very important to one of our customers.

1. is employee allowed to chose the part appraisers or the part appraisers are selected by the system (using BADI Default Appraiser HRHAP00_DOC_DEF_D1)
2. is it mandatory for the part appraiser to complete the part-appraiser process step before the final appraiser can appraise?
can final appraiser appraise without the part appraiser's input?
3. if multiple part-appraiser exist, will the employee see multiple part-appraiser columns (one for each part appraiser)?
4. can i have a part-appraiser process without the standard part-appraiser column (i.e. the part appraiser uses the final appraiser column)?

A: As Cheta says, the employee can not select or modify the appraisers assigned in the preparation process. The BADI HRHAP00_DOC_DEF_D1 is usefull is you want to implement a customer logic to select part appraisers. The system deliver an implementation assigning by defaul the appraiser and appraisee as part appraisers too, but to select this implementation is optional.
2. Is it mandatory for the part appraiser to complete the part-appraiser process step before the final appraiser can appraise?
can final appraiser appraise without the part appraiser's input?
A: In the standard or proposed process, the part appraiser doesn't need to complete the part appraisal before the final appraisal. And the final appraisal itself can be completed even if the part appraisals has not been completed yet.
3. If multiple part-appraiser exist, will the employee see multiple part-appraiser columns (one for each part appraiser)?
A: The employee can or can not see all the part-appraisals columns (PAPP), you can customize this behavior in the "Column Access" tab at template level (VA object). You can make customizations too in the "Element Access" tab at criteria (VC object) or criteria group (VB object) level.
4. Can I have a part-appraiser process without the standard part-appraiser column (i.e. the part appraiser uses the final appraiser column)?
A: You can customize the "Multiple appraisers allowed" behavior in the "Processing" tab at template (VA Object) level. All the appraisers you assign using this option, will be allowed to modify the FAPP column. But this is not a "part appraisals" process, because the system can not mantain the information about what person make what value change.

Performance Appraisal - Default 2nd level manager as Part Appraiser

Unfortnately, we are not having much success with this. The requirement is to default 2nd level manager as Part Appraiser and not show the Manager and EE as part appraiser.
For this we created a implementation for the BADI HRHAP00_DOC_DEF_DP and incorporated the same in our appraisal template. But the system is now bringing only the EE as the part appraisal.
Has someone worked on something similar and is so what is the best way to approach this?

OSA - How does the system determine a part appraiser

I have copied a standard SAP template to create a performance feedback template. I have one employee in an org structure that is the chief of an org unit. I then have a subordinate org unit that reports to the higher org unit. I have an employee in this org unit. I have created two user ids and assigned each employee to one of the user ids. When I create the appraisal using phap_create_pa, I can create the objectives for the form with the chief. When I start the appraisal process, it kicks me out. When I go back in with phap_change_pa and am logged on as the employee (part appraiser), I cannot do anything since every column is greyed out, even though the status of the appraisal doc is in "in process, part appraisal". What am I missing? I guess I don't know why this part apparaiser is not working. Any help will be appreciated

Here are a few things I can think of:
1. In the template under the status flow tab ensure that 'person authorised' has the entry part appraiser
2. Check if the workflow event entered for the previous step is not a display event, but an approval event.

BADI not working with FAPP - Final Appraisal column

I am trying to add a custom BADI to FAPP - Final Appraisal column. But I am getting an error saying 'Value Determination XXX not permitted for column FAPP'. I have copied the standard BADI AVERAGE and trying to incorporate that. Any ideas?

Part Appraisal - can not show 'note' box

Good evening experts,
That may be a very simple question but i didn't manage to figure out why i couldn't find the solution.
I'm developing an appraisal template with part-appraisal and final-appraisal. Some criteria group and/or criteria need a 'note' box (eventually with draft) for both part appraisers and final appraisers. The note text box appears fine for the final appraiser but it doesn't for the part appraisers, whatever the config i do on the column access, element access, etc....seems pretty simple though :o(
Anyone who has done this ? We're running ECC 6.00 with Enhancement Package 2005.1.

This is not to answer your query but another question.
I am too trying to implement Part Appraisers in Appraisal Process but not getting it done.
When Part Appraiser try to change document from his user id the Document doesn't open up in change mode and also the relevant push Button is mising .
Can you tell me when are the Part Appraisers added and if I am missing some basic thing for this.
It will be of great help .
