  • OSB Capabilities Over soa software Network Director Product

    Hi
Can anybody let us know the Capabilities of Oracle Service Bus over soa software Network Director product.
this is very critical to us and could not get any profer info which say OSB 's capabilities over soa software Network Director
    thanks in adv.
    Thanks & Regards,
    anvv sharma

AFAIK Network Director is a SOA product, so they should be interoperable by webservices...
You have to look at the SOA standards that Oracle and ND implement and see if they match... WSDL, SOAP, WS-Security, etc..
    Hope this helps...
    Cheers,

  • OSB 11.1.1.4 / OEPE 11.1.1.6 installation issue

I'm attempting to install OSB 11.1.1.4 on a Webcenter VirtualBox Linux appliance* (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/portal/downloads/owcs-portalfw-vbox-284132.html) and am experiencing a problem during installation.
    1) Since the Weblogic 10.3.4 installation does not appear to have included OEPE, I downloaded oepe-galileo-all-in-one-11.1.1.6.0.201007221355-linux-gtk-x86_64.zip and extracted its contents to a folder [middleware_home]/oepe-11.1.1.6.
    2) I extracted the contents of ofm_osb_generic_11.1.1.4.0_disk1_1of1.zip and ran runInstaller from the resulting Disk1 folder.
    3) After I've provided the JRE path, the installer progresses, and I select the Custom install option with the OSB IDE and examples.
    4) Prerequisite checks all pass, and at the Product Home Location, I browse to the directory where I extracted the OEPE files and select it. When i click Next, I receive the error "INST-07248: Specified OEPE home location is not a valid location."
There are lots of ways the home location could be "not valid", I suppose, but the installer is not forthcoming. Can anyone give a clearer idea what the OSB installer is looking for?
I've tried various things, including other versions of OEPE (I understand from other forum threads that OSB 11.1.1.4 and OEPE 11.1.1.6 go together), but nothing seems to make a difference. Any insight into what I'm doing wrong would be appreciated.
    * "Why not use the BPM/SOA appliance?" you're probably thinking. The answer is that it doesn't include OSB. The installed software is 11.1.1.3, and OSB 11.1.1.3 is no longer available for download.

    Thanks for the response, Rodrigo.
I followed your link and looked over the installation steps. Starting from Step 3, the only difference I noticed (aside from directory name differences) was that you had used the Helios all-in-one package instead of Galileo, as I had done. I thought I had read in some other forum posting that Helios was not compatible with 11.1.1.4, but downloaded oepe-helios-all-in-one-11.1.1.6.1.201010012100-linux-gtk.zip (32-bit version) and extracted it anyway.
This time, the OSB installer not only accepted the OEPE home directory but already had it filled in for me when I got to the dialog that required it. After that, the installer completed without mishap.
The answer to my issue appears to be to use the Helios all-in-one distribution with OSB 11.1.1.4, not Galileo.

  • OSB Software Licensing

    hi all,
How to go about purchasing the license of osb.
we are planning to go for Oracle Service Bus 11g (11.1.1.6.0). Can i downlaod directly from EDELIVERY CLOUD first and then apply for license or first i have to get license for this.
Along with it we also need Spark 64 11 and with Oracle DB 11.2.0.3.0 - please sugest that it is a certfied combination.
For Prduction installation what all liceses we need - i mean do we get all along with osb purchase or we need saparate license for obs , weblogic.
and when we take osb, Is RCU, MDM, OER Come along with it or they need saparate liceses. and also sugest any patch set needed for above version of osb.
one more ..is Oracle Service Bus 11g (11.1.1.6.0) is stable version, are there any production systems running on this version. or is it good idea to go for lower version like Oracle Service Bus 11g (11.1.1.3.0).

  • [OSB10.3.1] err creating JMS stuff in OSB cluster from recorded WLS session

    Hi all,
I've setup an OSB cluster with 2 managed servers.
From WLS console I created successfully the below JMS resources:
    1. new file store, name and directory: MyFileStore_m01, target: bnk01osbm01 migratable
    2. new file store, name and directory: MyFileStore_m02, target: bnk01osbm02 migratable
    3. new jms server, name: MyJMSServer_m01, persistent store: MyFileStore_m01, target: bnk01osbm01 migratable
    4. new jms server, name: MyJMSServer_m02, persistent store: MyFileStore_m02, target: bnk01osbm02 migratable
    5. new jms module, name: MyJMSSystemModule, targets: cluster bnk01osbcluster + all servers in the cluster
    6. new xa conn factory, name: MyXAConnectionFactory, jndi name: MyXAConnectionFactory
(targets as proposed by WLS itself: cluster bnk01osbcluster + all servers in the cluster)
+ XA Connection Factory Enabled: true
    7. new Distributed Queue, name: MyDistributedQueue1, jndi name: MyDistributedQueue1, load balancing policy: round-robin
(targets as proposed by WLS itself: cluster bnk01osbcluster + all servers in the cluster)
    + allocate members uniformly: true
and I recorded that into the included recorded_by_wls.py. As said no error has been raised.
Then I removed the above JMS resources and I executed the recorded_by_wls.py from command line getting the error that I reported at the end of the email.
I changed slightly the original py produced by WLS by adding only the below first 5 lines:
    print "Starting the script ..."
    connect("weblogic", "weblogic", "t3://wasdv1r3n1.dev.b-source.net:7031")
    edit()
    startEdit()
    cd('/')
I included also the recorded_by_wls.py source at the end of the email.
For information I reported also what I saw on WLS console when I created manually my JMS resources.
Do you have an idea why a successfully recorded WLS session fails when executed from a command line ?
Any help will be very appreciate.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ferp,
Do you have an idea why a successfully recorded WLS session fails when executed from a command line ?It should not fail. Each and every successfully (activation has been done without reporting an error/conflict) recorded session will execute on other servers successfully until a unique name constraint gets violated.
In your case this violation has happened. Your script is trying to create a distributed destination "MyDistributedQueue1" under module "MyJMSSystemModule", targetted to JMS Server "wlsbJMSServer_auto_2" but a Distributed Queue with same JNDI name already exists there.
    Please check.

  • Cannot publish OSB Configuration project on windows 7 64 bit OSB 11g1

I get the following error when I try to publish a OSB configuration project:
Project Facet Oracle Service Bus Configuration 1.0.100 is not supported by this server.
I installed OSB 11gr1 the following way:
    1. downloaded + installed 64 bit windows Java JDK (1.6.0_20)
    2. downloaded and installed the generic installer weblogic + coherence ( without OEPE unfortunately) [filename=wls1033_generic.jar].
    3. Seperately downloaded 64 bit OEPE from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oepe/index.html. Unzipped it in a manually created directory oepe in the weblogic installation directory (C:\bea\oepe) [filename=oepe-galileo-all-in-one-11.1.1.5.0.201003170852-win32-x86_64.zip]
    4. Install the OSB by running the setup.exe from the osb installer (Disk1). During the install I selected the OEPE directory (C:\bea\oepe in my case).
    [filename=ofm_osb_generic_11.1.1.3.0_disk1_1of1]
    5. I Started eclipse.exe. The OSB plugins were put in the installment automatically during startup (dropins).
I created a test domain and within eclipse I created a server (Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 2=10.3.3) so I could deploy projects onto this server. All went well. After this I created an OSB configuration project and an OSB project. When I tried to add this to the server I got the error as I mentioned above. This surprises me. The eclipse OSB plugins that were installed cannot create an OSB Configuration Project for the 10.3.3 version. So I cannot use eclipse to build project for the latest version. What is happening here?!?
    Can somebody enlight /help me.

Although windows 7 is not officially supported I got something working. No garantees it will break at some point you can have a working 64 bit OSB on windows 7.
To get oepe also working you have to install the 32 bit version from the 32 bit weblogic installer. When you have supplemented this version with the OSB plugins you can publish projects on Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 PatchSet 2.
So try at your own risk or wait for an official version for windows 7

  • How can I use the DBAdapter with SequencingPollingStrategy in OSB Cluster?

    Hi!
I have a OSB cluster. I need to read a view with the DBAdapter. I use SequencingPollingStrategy to implement the adapter.
Then I import it into OSB and make it work and the service works normally in the single node.
But if I import it into OSB cluster, the service always read the duplication records from the view.(the Distrbute polling is not worked in SequencingPollingStrategy )
So how can I use the DBAdapter with SequencingPollingStrategy in OSB Cluster?
    Thank you!

Nope. Version 5 is a fashion accessory: it looks like software, but it doesn;t actually do anything. Sort of like a sports car with a lawn-mower engine. Looks snzzy. Doesn't really work. (And given how buggy it is, I should further specifiy that the lawn-mower engine comes with a blade: it chews up your old templates, produces files that cannot be sent as email attahcments [yes, really], and—this just in—doesn;t play well with the new SMB facility of Mavericks. In short, as one reviewer put it, "un unmitigated disaster."

  • OSB encounters error in Windows and is closed

    Hi,
We are using OSB on a number of our servers but on one server the program/service keeps having errors and closing - we get the rather uninformative windows error "Oracle Secure Backup has encountered a problem and needs to close..." The server is an Oracle Application 10.1.2.0.2 application server using a 10.2.0.4 database for infrastructure. We are using Windows Server 2003 R2 and OSB 10.0.3. Can anyone advise what I can do to diagnose this issue - it only happens on this one server and it's the Production one. I've checked and can't find any evidence that there is any Commvault or Backup Exec software left on the server.
    Thanks

    $ ./runInstaller -jreLoc /usr/jdk/instances/jdk1.6.0/
    ./runInstaller: /soasoat/install/SOA/Disk1/install/solaris/runInstaller: cannot execute
I searched in eDelivery but there aren't any SOA installers (for version 11.1.1.1) for Solaris on x64
Is there any way to bypass this error?
    Thanks in advance.
    Leandro

    Hi Leandro
    1. SOA Installer has nothing to do with 32/64 bit. I mean there is NO specific 64 bit version of soa software. It is the underlying Weblogic Server that matters.
    2. Since you have 64 bit machine, very first thing, you should install a 64 Bit JDK (Sun or JRockit). And make sure to put this in path. When you run java -version, you should see this 64 bit jdk referred. Now comes Weblogic Server. You need to Download Weblogic Server Generic Installer (file ending with .jar). Then you install Weblogic server using command something like this:
java -d64 -jar weblogic_generic_xxxx.jar (Try -d or -D). After installation, now you have Weblogic Server 64 Bit installed on top of 64 Bit JDK.
    3. Now run the SOA Installer and for the jre, you can refer the above jdk/jre location.
    Thanks

  • OSB 2.6  installer for solaris 10 (64 bit) - required

    Hi,
I am are not able find the installer for OSB 2.6 for solaris 10(64 bit).
Where can I find the same?
    Thanks in Advance.

Don't know what a service id is, but you will need to be an oracle customer, which I assume you are if you are requesting old software.
here is the link I use

  • Libobk.a in OSB 10.2. in AIX

    Hi,
I just recently upgraded from Oracle 10g R1 to R2 (10.2.0.4) on AIX 5L. Has anyone already installed and configured OSB Express 10.2 in AIX 5L (64-bit)? I just installed OSB 10.2 in AIX 5L (5.3) and configured it based from the 10.2 OSB install guide. However, the sbt library found in my OSB home is libobk.so which I believed should be libobk.a (shared library in AIX). When I tried to do test backup to tape through RMAN, it shows error ora-27211 failed to load Media Management Library error when trying to allocate channel sbt. And checking on the udump trace file. It shows "failed to load library libobk.a" error.
What I did for now to run a tape backup is to still use LSSV 7.1 bundled with 10gR1 using the sbt library libobk.a (copy to $ORACLE_HOME/lib and created a softlink to /usr/lib/libnwora.a). However, I want to also try the OSB 10.2 because it is also capable of filesystem backup.
I'm sure that I have downloaded the right software for AIX from technet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Ali

AIX supports both then name extension .so and .a for shared libraries
    taken from the IBM doc...
AIX also supports shared objects with the file name .so. Apart from the conventions for the .o file name extension, a shared object file on AIX can be named using any extension. On AIX, the file name extension .so is sometimes used to indicate run-time linking.
I suggest renaming the libobk.so to libobk.a or make a copy named libobk.a. and trying Oracle Secure Backup again.

  • In search of Oracle 10g / Sun 86*64 Tape device 3rd party software:

What secure tape backup software (i.e. OSB not supported by Sun 86*64) do you recommend for this configuration:
    Clustered Database, ASM
    Database:
Oracle 10.2.0.1 (going to 10.2.0.2) clustered database.
    Operating System:
    SUN Version and Release
    14:35:04 $ uname -a
    SunOS rsc1cdbrac1 5.10 Generic_118855-36 i86pc i386 i86pc
    Tape Device:
    SUN SQL700

    Hi James,
I installed 10g on XP (amateur) with SP2 last night and it is essentially working it seems.
I did experience the security popups that you mentioned and I selected the "check later" button or something like that (my system is japanese and I think that's what the button said ;) ) I actually missed the first popup as I wasn't at the computer and didn't notice it until some time later, so the timing doesn't seem to make any difference.
I had problems with EM, I always got page not found when I triued to logon, but it was fine after rebooting.
My PC's spec (an athlon 2500+ and 512MB) is way below yours so I don't think that is entirely relevant. Sorry I can't offer any positive suggestions.

  • Best way for HTTP load balancing in OSB

    Hi everybody,
We have setup an OSB cluster and we need to load balance HTTP requests across managed servers. Looking for info about load balancing in OSB I found that there are mainly two options: using a hardware load balancer or a software solution like Weblogic HttpClusterServlet. At the moment we have no hardware balancer available so we will have to take the software option. I found some articles about configuring HttpClusterServlet like http://redstack.wordpress.com/2010/12/20/using-weblogic-as-a-load-balancer.
But I have a question about this configuration. If we use a managed server as an HTTP proxy that balances requests between OSB managed servers, what would happen if this server goes down? I think one of the main goals of a clustered deployment is avoiding a single point of failure but with that setup all requests would depend on the availability of the proxy managed server.
Could you recommend us a setup for implementing load balancing in OSB?
    Thank you in advance,
    Daniel.

Load balancing in a cluster for http requests can be achieved using atleast 4 different ways:
(1)- use a hardware load balancer like F5 BigIP LTM
(2)- use a web server with weblogic plugin to frontend the cluster
    (3)- use weblogic with HTTPClusterServlet
(4)- use DNS round robin - this works if you have managed servers running on 2 machines (say mach1, mach2) but on the same port. HTTP clients use hostname 'mach' to access the URL's and the dns does a round robin name resolution of mach to mach 1 and mach2 IP addresses..
All the options except (1) achieve only load balancing and not auto failover on all instances.. Hardware load balancers has the extra feature of probing [ sending periodic pings to the targets] , by which it can detect whether the target resource is alive and if not send the traffic to other nodes which are alive.. this is why hardware load balancers are worth their investment..
other options may work if client is coded to do retrying on failure.. so on 2nd or subsequent attempt, the routing is done to the machine which is alive..
For options (1),(2) and (3), you also need some redundancy of load balancing device ( web server, weblogic or hardware load balancer) to prevent single point of failure.. Hardware load balancers are usually deployed in redundant pairs to achieve this..

  • What is the best practice to perform DB Backup on Sun Cluster using OSB

    I have a query on OSB 10.4.
I want to configure OSB 10.4 on 2 Node Sun Cluster where the oracle database is running.
When im performing DB backup, my DB backup job should not get failed if my node1 fails. What is the best practice to achieve this?

    Hi,
Each Host that participates in an OSB administrative domain must also have some pre-configured way to resolve a host name to an IP address.Use DNS, NIS etc to do this.
Specify cluster IP in OSB, so that OSB always looks for Cluster IP only instead of physical IPs of each node.
    Explanation :
If it is 2-Node OR 4-Node, when Cluster software installed in these nodes we have to configure Cluster IP so that when one node fails Cluster IP will automatically move to the another node.
This cluster IP we have to specify whether it is RMAN backup or Application JDBC connection. Failing to second node/another Node is the job of Cluster IP. So wherever we install cluster configuration we have to specify in all the failover places specify CLUSTER IP.
    Hope it helps..
