OSB 10gR3 Aggregation server in a Cluster configuration
Hello everybody,
I am trying to deploy an osb 10gr3 cluster with the following configuration
*unix_machine_1
** AdminServer
** osb_server_1
*unix_machine_2
** osb_server_2
osb_server_1 & osb_server_2 beloing to an osb_cluster
although all servers startup and are OK
I constantly get
on osb_server_2 log : "Aggregation Server Not Available"
and
on osb_server_1 log : "Aggregator did not receive statistics from [osb_server_2] for the aggregation performed for tick xxxxx"
(of course in the sbconsole i can see reports only for osb_server_1 )
do you have any idea what am I doing wrong?
regards
./ydes
PS I am trying to follow the draft guide from http://blogs.oracle.com/fmw/2009/11/13/OSB_WP_HA_Final_Draft.pdf
along with the listen address, my problem was that the installation was in production mode, and the hosts had more than one IP address assigned.
wls instances where bound (listening) to the wrong IP address
eduardo, thanx for your reply
regards

SQL Server 2012 Failover Cluster configuration questions
Hi,
I have few questions on , SQL Server 2012 Failover cluserting pleasse provide suggestions:
1) In SQL Server 2012 is there a configuration for active / passive Failover Cluster installation? If so how is it done? if you could provide any links or articles that would help.
OR
Is this been replaced by Always ON Availability Groups?
2) Also in our environment we have done active/active installation but at a time my understanding is only node has the ownership to the shared storage versus both the nodes, is that correct? If not please provide an explanation?
Any additional information would be valuable in clearing my doubts?
Thank youy
Malini=Hi malinisethi,
If you install SQL Server in a cluster and configure Active-Passive cluster. In the first node, select “New SQL Server Failover Cluster installation” option , when we are installing Active-Passive cluster, we have to specify one virtual/network name. (Note:
For Active-Active clustering you have specify different network names as per the number of nodes). on the other nodes is similar to installing on the first node except that we have select the Add Node to a SQL Server failover cluster option from the initial
menu. For more information, there is a similar issue about SQL Server 2008 Active-Passive/Active-Active cluster installation, you can review the following article.
http://sqldbpool.com/2009/10/07/sql-server-2008-active-passive-cluster-installation/
About Active/Active SQL Cluster, two clustered SQL Server instance are created in different nodes. Then apply Active /Active configuration of both instance. There is an example about creating an Active/Active SQL Cluster using Hyper-V. you can review the
following article.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/momalek/archive/2012/04/11/creating-an-active-active-sql-cluster-using-hyper-v-part2-the-clustered-instances.aspx

OSB 11g Proxy Server - Missing SSL Port Configuration
Hi,
We are currently upgrading from OSB 10g to 11g.
In 11g the SSL port for proxy servers ican no longer be configured.
In sbconsole - System Administration -> Proxy Servers -> Add
*10g Host-Port Parameters*
Server Host
Clear Text Port
SSL Port
*11g Host-Port Parameters*
Server Host
Clear Text Port
Note that the SSL configuration is also missing in Eclipse when using the Proxy Server Editor.
Edited by: 951951 on Aug 9, 2012 6:39 PMWeird... It looks like a bug to me... The SSL Port is still on the docs (see bellow)... But I couldn't find on SB Console nor OEPE though...
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/admin.1111/e15867/configuringandusingservices.htm#CHDCDFFA
And as far as I can see the variable is still there... On SB Console, on System Administration click on Find & Replace... On the box "Find in variable type" chose "Proxy Server SSL Port" click on Find and you'll see that is still there (default value -1), and you can even do the replace if you want...
Finding and Replacing Environment Values
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/admin.1111/e15867/customization.htm#i1129122
I recommend you open a SR with Oracle support...

Vlad

OSB 10gR3 - Starting Managed server on remote machine
I have 2 Windows 2003 Enterprise machines.
I have OSB 10gR3 installed on both with Node Manager running on default port, on both.
I create the servicebustutorial domain and start the admin server on the first machine.
On the second machine, I use the WLST to
<ul><li>connect('weblogic','password','t3://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:7001') # connect to admin server on first machine
</li>
<li>nmEnroll('c:/bea/wlserver_10.3/common/nodemanager') # make node manager visible
</li>
<li>nmEnroll('c:/bea/user_projects/domains/servicebustutorial') # enroll in the servicebustutorial</li>
</ul>
Now, I don't know if this is the correct thing to do.
Back on the first machine, I create a new machine to represent the second Windows box.
I can see the node manager on the second machine using the machine monitoring page.
I then create a new server that is assigned to the new machine.
I can attempt to start the new server on the second machine.
The Server directory appears in the servers directory on the second windows box.
Log files appear on the second box but the config.xml is not there, and thus, the server fails to start.
I would have thought that the server config would have propogated from the admin server, is this a wrong assumption?
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, in advance.
...LyallThanks for replying.
I login as a local administrator on the machine that WebLogic runs. All operations are performed using that login (starting admin server, starting node manager).
I changed permissions on C:\BEA, all the way down, localadmin group has full control, everywhere.
I tried changing nodemanager C:\bea\wlserver_10.3\common\nodemanager\nodemanager.properties LogLevel to DEBUG but then NodeManager refuses to start, so I returned it back to INFO.
I set debug on the Managed Server I am trying to setup, as you suggested.
I even updated the NodeManager and Server boot.properties files to be cleartext and Deleted the LDAP directory within the Managed Server (as I assume it's re-created if it does not exist)
Wow, heaps comes out, but the following may be relevant.
In particular, this single line, causes concern.

OUI-25031 Cluster Configuration Assistant Fails Windows 2003 server RAC
Hi All
I am installing RAC on Windows 2003 Server X64, Dell PowerEdge 2950 Servers with iSCSI Storage.
I have 3 Network cards on each node which are configured like this
# Public
10.2.0.8 USTISDB-1.USTIS.Brgpoint.com USTISDB-1 --- in DNS
10.2.0.9 USTISDB-2.USTIS.Brgpoint.com USTISDB-2
#Virtual

10.2.0.11 USTISDB-2-vip.USTIS.Brgpoint.com USTISDB-2-vip
#Private

192.168.2.3 USTISDB-2-priv.USTIS.Brgpoint.com USTISDB-2-priv
#iSCSI Storage
192.168.1.2 Storage --- in DNS
Everything Pings everything.
When I start the installation , it installs clusterware and completes the remote operations but fails at cluster configuration window.
After checking the logs I found the list of failed commands and it says

and then I checked E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs\cfgtoollogs/configToolFailedCommands and i says

Hi All,
I need help on EJB transport in OSB 10gR3.
In our scenario, a proxy will poll a location for any incoming file (xml). Once any file comes, proxy service will pick that file and pass it to the business service which will call an EJB deployed on weblogic 8.15 and pass incoming file to EJB by calling it's one operation.
My questions are -
1. Which kind of argument can be passed to EJB in above case (means can we pass the incoming xml as String or we have to pass it as the type of root node in xml)
2. Is there any documentation which describes the implementation of above scenario in OSB?
Thanks & Regards,
Anuj DwivediBala,
the OSB Gives The JNDI Provider "ormi" does not exist.
Reference to a non-existing instance: ForeignJNDIProvider System/JNDI Providers/ormi Have you configured Foreign JNDI http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs103/ConsoleHelp/taskhelp/jndi/ManageForeignJNDI.html
Are you aware of this note http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E13159_01/osb/docs10gr3/ejbTransport/ejbtransport.html#wp1074283
"Although it is possible to use a WebLogic Server foreign JNDI Provider, Oracle recommends that you do not. "
Involve your Oracle Sales Representative/Support Representative to suggest this enhancement to OSB for supporting ORMI in OSB jndi provider. If you are licensed customer it becomes your right to make your suggestion known to Oracle and if you are not licensed customer then you got a valuable bargain chip :) . In either case talk to you Oracle representative to know official recommended approach from Oracle and also if enhancement can implemented or not.
Meanwhile I would suggest using IIOP/IIOPs which is supported by OSB to access EJB on your Oracle Application Server.

Query regarding the tutorial for Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3)
Hi,
I am working on a tutorial of Oracle Service Bus (OSB 10gR3).
I have created the proxy service and the Business Service, using Oracle Service Bus console.
The details are as follows:
Proxy service: LoanGateway
Business service1: A value of 4.9 or less causes the message to be routed to the ManagerLoanReview business service.
Business service2: A value of 5.0 or greater causes the message to be routed to the NormalLoan business service.
When i send the request message, so that it gets routed from proxy service to one of the business service than it gives following error.

Install SharePoint 2013 database on SQL server 2012 SP1 cluster
Good Day all,
We are trying to install SharePoint 2013 database on a SQL server 2012 Enterprise with SP1 cluster (configured for mixed mode) but the connection is not working (times out). We can telent the SQL cluster network name on port 1433 and we made
a UDL connection file, test the connection via windows authentication and it is working, but if we use the sql authentication it is not working.
Also we have two SharePoint 2013 servers connected via NLB.
Any idea about this issue guys?event if 3355 means 3 things:
The SQL Server might be offline.
The SharePoint Foundation database access account might not have the necessary permissions to communicate with the SQL Server.
A firewall that runs on either the local server or on SQL Server might be blocking network communications.
Big question, how you trying to connect SQL windows or sql authentication? is it throwing error on Config wizard or somewhere else?
Please remember to mark your question as answered &Vote helpful,if this solves/helps your problem. ****************************************************************************************** Thanks -WS MCITP(SharePoint 2010, 2013) Blog: http://wscheema.com/blog -
Sql developer won't connect with SQL server database on cluster
Hello,
I have a microsoft SQL server database on a windows cluster. Name for this cluster is like XXX/YYY
When I try to connect to this database with SQL developer, I get a failure, mentioning:
"Status : Failure -Cannot connect to Miscrosoft SQL Server on XXX/YYY"
As far as I know, I have installed the correct jtds driver (version 1.2.5), since I can connect to sql server databases on single server hosts.
Does anyone know how to connect to databases on windows clusters?

You're getting that probably because the WL instance was not shut down properly.
If that's the case, you'll need to remove an ldap lock file (with a .lok extension) in the directory of ldap files (under the server dir) . -
Hi all
Fun one here, I've been moving non-HA VMs to a HA and everything has been working perfectly until now. All this is being performed on Hyper-V 2012R2, Windows Server 2012R2 and VMM 2012R2.
For some reason on the VMs failed the migration with an error 10608 "Cannot create or update a highly available virtual machine because Virtual Machine Manager could not locate or access Drive:\Folder" The odd thing is the drive\folder is
a local storage one and I selected a CSV in the migration wizard.
The net result is that the VM is half configured into the cluster but the VHD is still on local storage. Hence the "unsupported cluster configuration" error.
The question is how do I roll back? I either need to get the VM out of the cluster and back into a non-HA state or move the VHD onto the CSV. Not sure if the latter is really a option.
I've foolishly clicked "Ignore" on the repair so now I can't use the "undo" option (brain fade moment on my part).
Any help gratefully received as I'm a bit stuck with this.
Thanks
RobHi Simar
Thanks for the advice, I've now got the VM back in a stable state and running HA.
Just to finish off the thread for future I did the following
- Shutdown the VM
- Remove the VM from the Failover Cluster Manager (as you say this did leave the VM configuration intact)
- I was unable to import the VM as per your instructions so I copied the VHD to another folder on the local storage and took a note of the VM configuration.
- Deleted the VM from VMM so this removed all the configuration details/old VHD.
- Built a new VM using the details I saved from the point above
- Copied the VHD into the new VMs folder and attached it to the VM.
- Started it up and reconfigured networking
- Use VMM to make the VM HA.
I believe I have found the reason for the initial error, it appears there was a empty folder in the Snapshot folder, probably from an old Checkpoint that hadn't cleaned up properly when it was deleted.
The system is up and running now so thanks again for the advice.

Server 2012 Failover Cluster No Disks available / iSCSI
Hi All,
I am testing out the Failover Clustering on Windows Server 2012 with hopes of winding up with a clustered File Server once I am done.
I am starting with a single node in the cluster for testing purposes; I have connected to this cluster a single iSCSI LUN that is 100GB in size.
When I right click on Storage -> Disks and then click 'Add Disk', I get No disks suitable for cluster disks were found.
I get this, even if I add a second server to the cluster, and connect it to the iSCSI drive as well.
Any ideas?Hi All,

For testing purpose you'd better spawn a set of VMs on a single physical Hyper-V host and use shared VHDX as a back clusterd storage. That would be both much easier and much faster then what you do. + it would be trivial move one of the VMs to another physical
host, shared VHDX to CSV on a shared storage and go from Test & Development to production :) See:

For a pure iSCSI scenario you may try this step-by-step guide (just skip StarWind config as you do have a shared storage already with your SAN). See:
Configuring HA File Server on Windows Server 2012 for SMB NAS
http://www.starwindsoftware.com/configuring-ha-file-server-on-windows-server-2012-for-smb-nas
Hope this helped a bit :)
StarWind VSAN [Virtual SAN] clusters Hyper-V without SAS, Fibre Channel, SMB 3.0 or iSCSI, uses Ethernet to mirror internally mounted SATA disks between hosts. -
Hi,
Can Anybody share me the information regarding Common reason for Mirage Server Failure in Clustered Environment.
And how clients will be switched to other server in a cluster to continue their operations from the failed server.
Regards,
Bathesha CHello,
if you have more than one mirage server configured with Load balancing (LB or MSFTNLB) the client would disconnect from the faulting server and then reconnect to an other server to progress with the action as before.
All Mirage server are stateless and share the same SIS (single instance store) so any server can update or create CVD file set for an client.
Hope that helps. -

Unsupported Cluster configuration.
Hi
Im getting below error on refershing the host cluster I get below error . I have 2 hosts in the cluster and VMs report unsupported cluster configuration. SCVMM 2012 SP1 dont seem to see the Logical Switches . Although Upon restarting WMI Services on the
host seem to fix the issue but after couple of weeks time I get the same error again. Upon doing some research I suspect when NIC Team moves the VNICs around and SCVMM agent doesnt get the latest information and therefore shows this error .
Solutions I have applied so for and get no joy are below
1. No snapshots are saved
2. No ISO files are mounted
3. VSS service set to manual
4. Host switches have same name
5. all VHD files are stored on CSV Volumes.
6. Set one NIC in team as standby because MAC Address of the host management network is same as physical address as I have inherited the settings while creating logical networks.
Can Anyone please helpHi Ed -
thanks for response
Although the other thread is referring to same error . I have already read that thread before starting a new one. This has been a known issue from 2008 R2 era . I have updated my SCVMM 2012 SP1 to rollup 7 but still seem to be an issue somewhere . I
can confirm that DNS server are same on both the hosts .
Does anyone think of anything else . Im happy to post the logs if anyone knows .
Thanks
Mumtaz
