OSB to connect to DataQueue - IBM AS/400

Hi experts,
We are working on a critical POC to connect to DataQueue of IBM AS/400 from Oracle Service Bus. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you.
cheers,
Cipto

Can you give more details.
Is this DataQueue based areound MQ or JMS?

    Hi VKMP,
    As well as reading the documentation thoroughly the following note available in My Oracle Support may be useful -
    Problem To Migrate Table With Table Type P From DB/AS400 With OMWB (Doc ID 466271.1)
    as OMWB does not support migrating physical files.

  • HotSpot VM doesn't support connection to an IBM mainframe?

    Are there any known issues with HotSpot Client VM (1.4.2_06-b03, mixed mode) or J2RE Standard Edition (1.4.2_06-b03) that would cause problems connecting to an IBM mainframe (OS 390)? If so, what are they?
    My program compiles with no errors on a Sun Solaris 10 using Java 1.4.2_06 (i know, old...) and I'm using the IBM Host Access APIs, but I just can't seem to connect to the mainframe.
    Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    AcceuilApplet.jButton1_actionPerformed(AcceuilApplet.jaDoes this indicate that you are using an Applet?
    If so then if you are NOT trying to go back to the host you loaded the Applet from then you will need to sign the jar file containing the Applet.

  • Connecting UCS to IBM DS4700, FC zoning

    I am trying to accomplish connecting my UCS to an older SAN that I have to migrate data off.  I currently have a UCS system that is connected to an EMC VNX using 8G FC.  The zoning for this is configured in my UCS.  All works well with the connection to the VNX and I have dual active/active paths working. What I am trying to do is connect a second SAN to my UCS system, a IBM DS4700.  This DS4700 currently has a Brocade FC Switch connected to it, which then connects to a IBM bladecenter chassis.
    I configured a second VSAN for the IBM array and configured the port on my fabric interconnect with that VSAN.  I went into the IBM array and I could see the UCS WWN for my HBA, so I connected it to my UCS.  When I did this, I had an unexpected result.  My VMWare ESXi host on the UCS could see all the datastores on the IBM DS4700 BUT lost connection to all the ones on the VNX.  Also, on the IBM DS4700, all of my paths failed over to the controller that had the host connection from the UCS.  I tried to fail them back over to the other controller but they wouldn't move until I disconnected the UCS from IBM DS4700.  Once disconnected from the UCS, everything went back to normal on both sides.
    Does any one have an idea on how I am setup wrong here?  The ESX host on the UCS could see the datastores on the IBM so it is somewhat correct but it caused all sorts of problems.
    Thanks in advance.

    yes, zones are created on UCS.
    Ok, so you don't have enough host ports to connect Controller A and Controller B to each FI. Since you are experiencing some odd failovers i would do this than. Since this is a migration effort and will not be a permanent configuration you can try this route ..connect both controllers to just one FI:
    UCS FI FABRIC A:
    IBM DS4700 Controller A - Host Port 2
    IBM DS4700 Controller B - Host Port 2
    this will ensure that UCS servers have access to both controllers so if a LUN on DS4700 happens to failover to another controller, UCS servers can still connect to it.

  • Compatibility of Discoverer to IBM OS/400? - Please advise

    Hi !
    I'm trying to find out if Oracle Discoverer as a reporting tool is compatible to
    1) IBM OS/400 Version 5, Release 2 or V5R3 or V5R4 with PTF package
    2) QShell interpreter
    Where can I get some useful documentation on this?
    Thanks and regards,
    Aparna

    Hi Aparna
    You can find information about all aspects of Oracle certification on MetaLink. Just log in and on the right-hand side you will see a link called Certify. In there you will be able to see which products are supported on which platforms.
    I've taken a look myself and I can see no certification for Discoverer on the IBM AS/400. Its fully supported on AIX though.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • Oracle WebLogic Server - How to connect to IBM DB2-400

    Hi to all,
    I'm afraid I'm going to ask a f.a.q... anyway... I'm trying to define a Connection Pool to Db2/400. I see that Oracle App Server do support DB2 on windows and linux O.S;
    what about DB2 on a iSeries / iOs machine ?
    Thank you in advance for your help.

    1. Can OSB connect to JMS Queue which resides within the IBM Maximo Application? If yes can you please provide any documents/link which outlines the steps.Yes. You can use a OSB proxy service with jms transport to dequeue the messages from remote weblogic jms.
    2. Do I need to configure a Messaging Bridge or a Foreign JNDI provider in Weblogic? Which is the best optionNot required.
    3. What information do we need to configure in Weblogic to connect to the JMS Queue in IBM Maximo Application? Configure a proxy service with jms transport. Here you have to provide the transport URI hostname/port part you have to give details of the maximo WLS server host and part.Since jms transport involves rmi communication between two weblogic domains, you also need to setup either global trust between the domains or cross domain security.

    When you use DB2 SQL flavor, the ADF BC use the oracle.jbo.server.DB2SQLBuilderImpl class as an SQLBuilder. This class determines the JDBC driver class name as follows:
    1) If the JBO configuration parameter jbo.sql92.JdbcDriverClass in not empty, then the JDBC driver class name is taken from there;
    2) If the jbo.sql92JdbcDriverClass parameter is empty, then:
    <ul><li>If the JDBC URL starts with "jdbc:db2://", then com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver
    <li>If the JDBC URL starts with "jdbc:oracle:db2", then com.oracle.ias.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver
    <li>If the JDBC URL starts with "jdbc:datadirect:db2", then com.ddtek.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver
    <li>Otherwise, COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver</ul>
    (Have a look at the source of the method DB2SQLBuilderImpl.getJDBCDriverClassName(String url) for more details).
    It is seen from the log in your first post that the parameter jbo.sql92.JdbcDriverClass is empty. As far as your JDBC URL starts with neither of the prefixes specified above (e.g. your URL starts with "jdbc:as400://"), then you should specify the necessary JDBC driver class in the JBO configuration parameter jbo.sql92.JdbcDriverClass. (You can specify it in the AM configuration parameters or in adf-config.xml).

  • OSB - Problems connecting sync business service to resp. queue with login

    Hello,
    I have a synchronous JMS business service which uses the MessageID correlation pattern with statically configured request and response JMS queues. The JMS queues are imported using a foreign JMS and a connection factory with credentials (username and password). The requests seem to work just fine (they are received at the foreign JMS) but I still have problems with the responses. I get the following log entries:
    <Mar 31, 2010 1:50:10 PM CEST> <Warning> <EJB> <BEA-010061> <The Message-Driven EJB: ResponseEJB-8048850762288479454-46349ef3.127b3dbbff1.-7fe6 is unable to connect to the JMS destination: queue.local.name. The Error was:
    javax.jms.JMSSecurityException: User: null is not authorized to read from destination queue.external.name>
    It seems that the response is handled by a MDB which does not seem to use the username and password configured in the connection factory. Any ideas how to make it use the username and password of the connection factory to receive the response? I have tried both providing the connection factory for the response and leaving it empty (which would cause it to use the one from the request) - both with no success.
    I am really stuck here..
    Thanks,
    Dimo

    Alternatively you can try a very dirty way to make this work I think. The reason why the username in foreign server CF's username crednetials are not recognized is due to the fact that the deployment descriptors for the MDB should not specify a provider-URL and there should be a resource reference for the CF.
    Business service with reply queues generate a MDB under the hood . You can try to edit the deployment descriptors for this MDB to make this to work.

  • Building connection to com.ibm.lang.management MXBeans

    Hello, I'm trying to build a jconsole-like application which is able to remote-monitor a jvm.. so far i've get it working for "every" sun-jvm..
    now my boss wants me to monitor a ibm j9 jvm.. which doesn't work..
    i have this simple test code:
        import java.io.IOException;
        import java.lang.management.ManagementFactory;
        import javax.management.MBeanServerConnection;
        import javax.management.remote.JMXConnector;
        import javax.management.remote.JMXConnectorFactory;
        import javax.management.remote.JMXServiceURL;
        import com.ibm.lang.management.MemoryMXBean;
        public class IBMConnection {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
          JMXConnector jmxc;
          // create jmxserviceurl
          JMXServiceURL url = new JMXServiceURL("service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://"
            + "myhost:1234" + "/jmxrmi");
          // connect to jmx service running application with the jmxurl
          jmxc = JMXConnectorFactory.connect(url, null);
          // create MBeanServerConnection with jmxconnection
          MBeanServerConnection mbsc = jmxc.getMBeanServerConnection();
          MemoryMXBean ibmOSMXBean;
          ibmOSMXBean =  ManagementFactory
            .newPlatformMXBeanProxy(mbsc, ManagementFactory.MEMORY_MXBEAN_NAME,
              MemoryMXBean.class);
          System.out.println(ibmOSMXBean.getMaxHeapSize());
        }i'm running the application on my local machine, (xp sp3, sun jre-6u16) and trying to connect to "myhost" (AIX 1 6 00CDAB5A4C00 running IBM J9 VM (build 2.3, J2RE 1.5.0 IBM J9 2.3 AIX ppc-32 j9vmap3223-20081129).
    it works if i start the application on the aix machine and connect "remote" to itself, but if i am doing it real-remote it throws me this exception:
        Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: java.lang:type=Memory is not a platform MXBean
         at java.lang.management.ManagementFactory.newPlatformMXBeanProxy(Unknown Source)
         at IBMConnection.main(IBMConnection.java:32)so i thought: okay, objectname incorret, and changed ManagementFactory.MEMORY_MXBEAN_NAME to "com.ibm:type=Memory" and "com.ibm.lang:type=Memory", but thatd didn't help neither...
    i have found no information on how to connect remote to the ibm mxbeans... i'm pretty desperate atm..
    there is no firewall, i used the fully qualified domain name of "myhost", the port is open and accessible (says nmap, and jconsole is able to connect to the app.), the application (which should be monitored) is started with the correct parameters..
    i'm running eclipse 3.5 and i have imported the jlm.jar archive from the ibm eclipse-package.. i can see all the methods from the package, but i'm not able to call them remotely through an mbeanproxy... please help me

    Thanks for the images - that clarifies things a bit.
    MaxHeapSize is not part of the standard management interface of MemoryMXBean:
    [http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/management/MemoryMXBean.html|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/lang/management/MemoryMXBean.html]
    This is probably an OS/Vendor specific extension.
    I do not understand why newPlatformMXBean gives you an exception - this is strange - and should
    probably be reported as a bug to the implementor of that MBean.
    To get the MaxHeapSize, I suggest you use
    mbsc.getAtttribute(ObjectName, String /*property name*/) as I suggested earlier.

  • JMSClientExceptions:055142 when connecting to external IBM MQ Topic

    I am attempting to send a message from my application residing on WL 10.3 to a topic on a IBM MQ 7 process running on another server. The application is Java/Spring, and the connection is actually working because I can debug it just before the send message and see the topic string from the MQ topic. However when I attempt to 'send' the message, I get the following:
    weblogic.common.InvalidDestinationException: [JMSClientExceptions:055142}Foreign Destination, topic://my/topic
    at weblogic.jms.common.Destination.checkDetinationType(Destination.java:105)
    at weblogic.jms.client.JMSSession.setupJMSProducer(JMSSession.java:2830)
    ..etc.
    The crux of the matter appears to be that weblogic is checking the destination type on this foreign service then throwing the error.
    The topic is defined in WL as a destination within a foreign JMS server.
    Is there an attribute I can set on this destination that will get me beyond this? Or some other solution?

    Here's what I have. The connection strings came from IBM.
    Foreign Servier Configuration
    JNDI Initial Context Factory: com.ibm.mq.jms.context.WMQInitialContextFactory
    JNDI Connection URL: <servierid>:1417/SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN
    (my queue manager is running on 1417)
    Foreign Destination
    Name: TopicName
    Local JNDI Name: MY.TOPIC
    Remote JNDI Name: REMOTE_TOPIC
    I see the topic string from the topic in the exception, so I know I have a connection, however I get this when I send:
    (my exception stack trace)
    caused by: weblogic.jms.common.InvalidDestinationException: JMSClientExceptions:055142] Foreign Destination, topic//(string from remote topic)

  • Each time I connect to my IBM computer it crashes with blue screen error message pops up. Apple say that it's my printer/camera drivers. The problem is with iTunes, it likes to play with all the ports on my comp and conflicts with prnt drivers. How to fix

    Does anyone know how to fix this problem without disabling my printer. It's very frustrating. It's either I have my iPad or my printer. iTunes likes to play with the ports on my computer thereby causing a conflict with my printer drivers. Apple should fix this problem, I'm so annoyed.

    When this problem first happened, I searched for threads and found a few.  See be;ow links:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502
    Apple say that its a driver problem, but I've never had this problem before so I am not convinced. Another thread, which I can't seem to find, suggests that it is an apple problem - itunes plays with the ports on the company causing conflicts with existing drivers. I isolated the conflict to my new Samsung printer. I uninstalled the Samsung printer driver and then can successfully connect my ipad without the blue screen appearing.
    It's not a windows problem. Windows is working fine. Only happens when Ipad is connected. Actually, this first happened after I installed the new version of itunes. I reget installing the new itunes version, but don't know how to reinstall the previous itunes version.

    Well, yes, it's always a good idea to install a higher capacity internal hard disk. You can then get an external enclosure to house your original 250GB hd so that it can be used for backups and/or additional storage.
    As far as the "Disk running too slow" message you're getting, I've never had that message and my external hd that has my iTunes library is 5400rpm. I would suggest that the problem is something else including (but not limited to) perhaps that your external hd may be on it's way out or perhaps too full.
    How much free space is there on the external hd? Additionally, how much free space is there in your internal hd?
    Have you done any software maintenance recently on both internal and external hard disks?

    Use this .iso:
    https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit
    Next If you want to burn it to a DVD, just burn the iso to a DVD, and install Windows 8 from DVD.
    Or use a liveUSB:
    http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/
    You may need to enable boot from USB in the BIOS if not already enabled.
    NOTE: You won't be prompted for a product key during installation. Why? The product key is stored in the BIOS, and the correct Windows edition will be selected accordingly during installation.
    Then after installation is finished all you need to do is installing drivers from support.lenovo.com. If you have no internet connectivity use a USB pendrive to transfer the drivers to your Y500.
    You can always consider buying a recovery DVD from Lenovo for which you have to pay. Considering your knowledge this is not a bad idea. But if you are prepared to learn something, my guide above is something for you.
    I can guarantee the .iso is safe to use, since I have been using that one myself. I always keep a back-up to help out friends.

  • Datastore External Metadata refresh

    I have a datastore defined as an ODBC database type connection to an IBM AS/400. I the ODBC setup, I have a library list defined and all the files from those show up in the External Metadata of the datastore in Data Integrator. So far, so good, everything works great!
    Now I add a library in the library list in the ODBC setup for the IBM AS/400 but when I go back the datastore in Data Integrator, the files from the new library do NOT show up for me to select in the list in External Metadata??
    Any idea if I can refresh those files for that datastore and how I can do that?
    Thanks !!!

    was the list of external metadata window open in Designer whe you added the library in ODBC setup ?
    close the metadata list window and double click on the datastore again and see if that works
