OSD Logs not getting written to SLShare

We have the SLShare defined in the CustomSettings.ini as..
SLShare=\\<servername>\Logs$
SLShareDynamicLogging=\\<servername>\OSDLogs$
Logs used to get written to both locations with no issue.  Over the past couple of months, no logs get written to either location.  Shares have been recreated and still nothing.. Checked the permissions, nothing has changed.
Ideas?

I do apologize for not getting a lot more info
Been a bad week with other issues and trying to clear up some old questions and concerns - this being one of them....
During the WinPE phase of the deployment, we’ve connected to the SLSHare with the account that we use for joining the domain, that account connects without any issue.
In the ZTIGather.log what we see when we compare existing logs taken from the local drive on a machine that’s been imaged or in the process of imaging, to the logs up on the server that were centrally stored shows that the Property
SLSHare is now = \\<servername>\Logs$
In the logs extracted from the local drives(..Windows\CCM\Logs\) of machines that have been imaged in the past couple of months, that Property value does not exist, but we also see the following highlighted errors in the logs
which are not in the logs centrally stored on the server from a couple of months back.  We have verified that the file
Microsoft.BDD.Utility.dll is in the correct location for
… Toolkit Package\Tools\x86 and …Toolkit Package\Tools\x64.

  • Error log not getting written

    Hello there,
    I had to edit the errors file in DS7.0 version but after that DS7.0 is not writing anything into errors file, although i dd not change any permission. I just opened the file and deleted few lines and now errors logs are not written anymore.
    Any idea how to solve this issue?

    Usually restarting slapd does the trick. Worst case, you might need to stop the server, move all files out of the logs directory, and restart. If that doesn't work, then there's probably something wrong with the system or the configuration.
    I've never tried it, but the rotate-now function might fix it too.

  • Opmn logs not being written

    Hi All,
    We are facing an issue.
    No logs are being written to the opmn/logs directory. It was being written correctly till 4th December and then stopped all of a sudden.
    Are there any configuration files which may have been affected.
    Best regards,
    Brinda

    To clarify.
    We are now rotating the logfiles with the linux/unix command logrotate. I suspect that this is what is causing the issue that the logs are note being filled after rotation and we need to restart opmn for the logs to start getting populated.
    So I think we need to configure rotating logs in opmn.xml.
    The Application server version is 10.1.3. This is the log line in our opmn.xml.
    <log path="$ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/opmn.log" comp="internal;ons;pm" rotation-size="1500000"/>
    So the question is how do we activate opmn to rotate the log so that we do not need to use logrotate.
    In this document it says that you have to activate ODL for log rotation to work:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b14432/logadmin.htm#sthref370
    Is this true or can we rotate text logs as well. This is what we would prefer.
    Best regards,
    Gustav

  • Weblogic Access Logs not getting generated / updated only for Admin server

    Hi All,
    I have a query ,
    We recently noticed that the weblogic access logs for our admin server are not getting generated.
    However we checked that the access logs are getting generated for the managed servers that we have.
    There is not much difference between the logging settings between the admin and the managed servers.
    We thought that there might be some problem with the buffering and that the data might not be written to the files immediately.
    So after researching we found the parameter "-Dweblogic.logging.bufferSizeKB=0" and added that to the java options however it did not make any difference.
    Also we tried modifying the config script as ,
    <server>
    <web-server>
    <web-server-log>
    <buffer-size-kb>0</buffer-size-kb>
    </web-server-log>
    </web-server>
    </server>
    However no luck .....
    We are using weblogic 9.2 MP3 and think there might be some bug with this version , however its hard to believe that the logs are generated and updated for managed servers and not for the admin servers.
    The only thing we notice in the access logs of the admin server is 404 errors.
    Any suggestions ?
    Regards,
    Stacey.

    This has come up recently here:
    access log not writing to disk in a timely fashion
    I didn't find that buffer-size-kb capability in the docs in 9.2. I recommend checking with support.

    2. added isapi filter by giving the iisforward.dll path, name given is wlforward
    3. added handler mappings by giving *.wlforward as the path and giving iisproxy.dll path
    4. added the file iisproxy.ini file
    iisproxy.ini contents

  • Custom log not getting generated in weblogic 10.3.5

    We have weblogic 10.3.5 as application server and deployed DAM(Digital Assets Management ) application on it. Also we have deployed 2-3 more application which is sharing connection properties file (dfc and log4j) outside from application war in shared location.
    Now, we have configured the log path but logs are not get generated where as it comes in out log of weblogic.
    Is there any configuration changes which can create the log files as mentioned in our log4j.properties?? Seeking help urgently.

    How are you writing to the log file in your application?
    When, for example, use System.out.println the entry will show up in the .out file.
    You need to get the right loghandler to write the logging you configure.

  • MV Logs not getting purged in a Logical Standby Database

    We are trying to replicate a few tables in a logical standby database to another database. Both the source ( The Logical Standby) and the target database are in Oracle 11g R1.
    The materialized views are refreshed using FAST REFRESH.
    The Materialized View Logs created on the source ( the Logical Standby Database) are not getting purged when the MV in the target database is refreshed.
    We checked the entries in the following Tables: SYS.SNAP$, SYS.SLOG$, SYS.MLOG$
    When a materialized view is created on the target database, a record is not inserted into the SYS.SLOG$ table and it seems like that's why the MV Logs are not getting purged.
    Why are we using a Logical Standby Database instead of the Primary ? Because, the load on the Primary Database is too much and the machine doesn't have enough resources to support MV based replication. The CPU usage is 95% all the time. The appplication owner won't allow us to go against the Primary database.
    Do we have to do anything different in terms of Configuration/Privileges etc. because we are using a Logical Standby Database as a source ?
    Thanks in Advance.

    We have a 11g RAC database in solaris OS where there is huge gap in archive log apply.
    Thread Last Sequence Received Last Sequence Applied Difference
    1 132581 129916 2665
    2 108253 106229 2024
    3 107452 104975 2477
    The MRP0 process seems not to be working also.Almost 7000+ archives lag in standby if compared with primary database.
    i suggest you to go with Incremental rollforward backups to make it SYNC, use this below link for step by step procedure.
    http://www.oracle-ckpt.com/rman-incremental-backups-to-roll-forward-a-physical-standby-database-2/
    Here questions.
    1) Whether those archives are transported & just not applied?
    2) Is in production do you have archives or backup of archives?
    3) What you have found errors in alert log file?
    post

  • Transaction logs not getting cleaned up

    I'm using Directory Server v5.2 on Windows 2000 and we encountered a situation over the weekend where our server ran out of disk space (5GB Drive w/ 1.3 DB free at the start of the test). When I looked in the slapd-mydir\db directory, it was filled w/ over 900 log.00000xxx files totalling 1.3GB in size. (About 10K each).
    These are the transaction logs I believe and I do not see why they are not getting cleaned up.
    Restarting slapd did not fix it. And deleting those files causes the directory server to complain vigorously about missing log files.
    Every other server in our lab I checked did not have this problem - only this one. Any thoughts on how this can happen and what one can do about it? We are running w/ default attributes and settings for transaction logging.
    We are now having to completely re-install this server.

    Hi, Id like to know how as you solved this problem.

  • App-v OSD's not getting imported to SCCM 2012

    Hi
    Currently i am migrating APP-V 4.6 PACKAGES to SCCM 2012, as part of this process few OSD's of applications are not getting imported.
    ex:- if application has 10 OSD then only 5 OSD are getting imported.
    Since App-v 4.6 was earlier standalone all the OSD were published to different user using different AD groups,
    Do the package has to be edited again to import all OSD or manifest files has to be changed to include all OSD to get imported to SCCM 2012.
    Thanks

    Open up the app in the sequencer, add the file to your scripts folder. If the script requires to be run elevated, you'll want to use the Deployment config file and use Global publishing....
    If you don't need elevation you can use the User Config and won't need to publish globally.
    Fore more info and some examples, check this out:

  • Archive logs not getting shipped when we do a swtich

    Hi Team.
    I am facing an strange issue on one of our standby.
    After the setup of the standby when we enabled the MrM mode, the archive got shipped smoothly.After after sometime when we tried to switch log file and check if it was working or not.
    From the alert log of the DR , we can only see these msg " Media Recovery Waiting for thread 1 sequence ***". But the moment we cancel the MrM mode and re enable it , its ships the same smooth.
    So need some guidance to debug the same .
    Please advise .
    Thanks

    Hello;
    On something like this I would check BOTH the Primary and Standby alert logs.
    Here's a SWITCH I forced yesterday:
    Thu Sep 12 16:01:11 2013
    ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG
    Thu Sep 12 16:01:11 2013
    Thread 1 advanced to log sequence 811 (LGWR switch)
      Current log# 1 seq# 811 mem# 0: /u01/app/oracle/oradata/PRIMARY/redo01.log
    Thu Sep 12 16:01:11 2013
    LNS: Standby redo logfile selected for thread 1 sequence 811 for destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2
    Notice the last line is logged on the Primary almost the very moment I do the switch. Does your Database in  Primary mode show that?

  • Application log not getting cleared

    Hi All,
    we have a requirement where in we have to prevent service ticket save if the status of ticket is open and save button is clicked from ICWC .We are on CRM2007.
    we are using ORDER_SAVE badi's check_before_order_save and raising the exception DO_NOT_SAVE from the BADI .
    making cv_own_message as true .
    error message is shown .but if we change the status to other then open and save .then service ticket gets saved but with the same error.
    how to clear the prev log as if we use the FM crm_message_delete from the BADI , it is causing exception CS_SY_ERROR and terminating there itself.the same thing is happening if we use BAL_LOG_DELTE_MESSAGE.

  • How does the S_NQ_AACT table gets written when working with Usage Tracking?

    Hi,
    We want to monitor the performance of each subject area so we have implemented the Usage Tracking.
    We have followed the steps mentioned on the link http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe_bi/bi_ee_1013/usage_tracking/usage_tracking.htm
    But now the table S_NQ_ACCT is not getting written, whenever any user logs into OBIEE and runs a request his entry is not logged into that table.
    Anybody has encountered such a type of issue help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Apoorv

    The part of NQSConfig,ini goes like this:
    [ USAGE_TRACKING ]
    ENABLE = YES; //DEFAULT: NO
    //==============================================================================
    // Parameters used for writing data to a flat file (i.e. DIRECT_INSERT = NO).
    STORAGE_DIRECTORY = "<full directory path>";
    CHECKPOINT_INTERVAL_MINUTES = 5;
    FILE_ROLLOVER_INTERVAL_MINUTES = 30;
    CODE_PAGE = "ANSI"; // ANSI, UTF8, 1252, etc.
    //==============================================================================
    DIRECT_INSERT = YES;
    //==============================================================================
    // Parameters used for inserting data into a table (i.e. DIRECT_INSERT = YES).
    PHYSICAL_TABLE_NAME = "OBI Usage Tracking"."Catalog"."dbo"."S_NQ_ACCT" ; // "<Database>"."<Catalog>"."<Schema>"."<Table>" ; // Or "<Database>"."<Schema>"."<Table>" ;
    CONNECTION_POOL = "OBI Usage Tracking"."Usage Tracking Writer Connection Pool" ;
    BUFFER_SIZE = 10 MB ;
    BUFFER_TIME_LIMIT_SECONDS = 5 ;
    NUM_INSERT_THREADS = 5 ;
    MAX_INSERTS_PER_TRANSACTION = 1 ;
    //==============================================================================
    The User has the previleges to write to the table, I am not sure where I have gone wrong?

  • My UIRCallbackTable.c file is not getting updated to reflect my changes

    I am using my CVI code in Visual C++ and I removed some fields in the .uir file that had callbacks. The UIRCallbackTable.c file is not getting written to to reflect the change. I am using Clearcase and I have the file checked out. I am getting unresolved external symbol errors for these callbacks as a result. Any ideas on why this would happen?

    Are you using Visual C++ 6.0, Visual C++ 2002, or Visual C++ 2003?
    In each case, Measurement Studio installs a Visual Studio add-in that monitors the .uir file for changes and updates the callbacks file as appropriate. Make sure that the add-in is enabled in the Visual Studio environment that you are using. In VC6, the add-in is named LabWindows/CVI VC AddIn. Go to Tools>>Customize>>Add-ins and Macro Files to enable it. In VC2002 and VC2003, this functionality is part of the main Measurement Studio add-in. Go to Tools>>Add-in Manager to enable it.
    If the add-in is enabled, and updates still aren't happening, please post a .zip file with your CVI project and your VC project so that we can check it out.
