OSPF LSA with DC bit set

Hello,
If an LSA is received by an OSPF router which is not Demand Circuit capable, will that LSA be installed in link state database?
Thanks

How can step 2 in the sequence description say that PE2-AS1 receives an OSPF route with the Down Bit already set? This comes from the CE.
I find this all very confusing when I check out these sequences - I thought only the PE router assigns Down Bit to LSA Type 3 routes?
All the other references I see show how PE1-AS1 would normally set the Down Bit as it is redistributed back into OSPF?
Thanks for your help - I feel I am getting closer. It is just this second step that is throwing me!
Cheers

  • External route with Down Bit set by CE router

I have a question regarding the Down Bit. All the documentation I see concentrates on the redistribution of the MP-BGP into OSPF but I want to know more about the OSPF redistribution into MP-BGP. I think the rule is different for Type3 and Type5 LSAs.
Lets say the CE redistributes a RIP route into OSPF, creating an LSA Type 5 route sent to the PE router - with the Down Bit set.
Will this PE router redistribute this route into MP-BGP?
I know that LSA Type 3 summary routes will not be redistributed into MP-BGP if the Down Bit is set but I am wondering about external OSPF routes with the Down Bit set????
I am assuming that redistribution of RIP into OSPF at the CE does infact set this Down Bit before passing on to the PE router?

  • Why in ospf , lsa refresh time is set as 30 minutes

    Hi all
i have doubt regarding the ospf lsa refresh time interval . why this is set as default by 30 minutes . is there any particular reason for this ? Please let me know

    Hi,
    RFC 2328 stipulates two facts:
The maximum age of an LSA is 3600 seconds. After an LSA has reached an age of 3600 seconds, it must be flushed.
Every LSA has to be reoriginated (that is, refreshed) every 1800 seconds.
The choice of 1800 seconds for the refresh interval is purely a very conservative estimate of the advance in which an LSA should be refreshed so that it can still be propagated to all other routers in an area or OSPF domain in time before the old LSA expires by reaching the age of 3600 seconds. In essence, the choice of the refresh interval at 30 minutes gives the network an additional 30 minutes to propagate the refreshed LSA before the old one expires.
In fact, current Cisco IOSes do not go by the exact 1800 second interval. The IOS has chosen various approaches to scheduling the LSA refreshing process, and it is very nicely described in this article by Petr Lapukhov:

  • Yet ANOTHER New Problem - Can No Longer Upload an Image with 64 Bit IE9

I've been uploading images as part of forum posts successfully for weeks using IE9 64 bit, set for Compatibility View.
Suddenly, starting yesterday, using the little camera icon with IE9 64 bit, when I hit the [Browse] button, the entire IE window just disappears, losing the response in progress!
Doing the exact same thing in IE9 32 bit works, and brings up the dialog with which to select a file.  So now the workaround is that I must use the 32 bit IE to access this site.
Nothing is changing on this end.  No new Add-ons, no config changes.  Cache has been cleared to no avail.  Nothing appears in the Windows event logs.
Can you folks please try a little harder to settle this forum software down?  It's getting rather frustrating to have features just keep dropping out like this.

    Thank you for your thoughts.
Your answer sounds authoritative, but just what preference would you say governs this behavior?  I don't believe there is one, at least not one that directly sets the IE default open folder behavior.  And I don't have my browser delete its cache or anything on the way out.
Your answer would seem reasonable but for the fact that the behavior I'm observing changed here recently - in the past week or so - without my having changed browser preferences.  Could a Windows Update have changed IE9?  Possibly, but I don't recall there being one specifically that coincided with this observed change.
No disrespect intended, but there's no reason to think the script driving the File Open dialog can't request a specific starting folder.  That's what I think has been changed here.

For me, the dialog simply opens to the last place I elected to open from. It stays that way until I choose to change it again.
What browser/version are you running?  Just curious.  And have you cleared your cache and checked with the current forum software?

  • Error Code 88 with Pixma Pro9500 even with art margins set correctly

I'm getting error code 88 (from the Canon Pro9500 series print monitor window) when attempting to print on an A3Plus art paper (Hahnemuehle William Turner), even though I have the paper size set correctly (in the Photoshop Print Dialog, Print Settings) to "Art A3+ (Margin 35)".
(Furthermore – though most of the following options probably have nothing to do with the problem, and are probably the correct or allowable settings anyway – I'm using Canon Color Matching; Media Type: "Fine Art Museum Etching"; Paper Source: Front Tray; Print Quality: High; and am printing in color, not grayscale.  Color Options are all left set at zero.)
I’m printing from Photoshop CS5 Extended, Version 12.0 x64, using an iMac with MacOSX10.6.8.  The Canon Printer Driver is “Pro9500 Driver – CUPS Version 10.51.2.0”, recently installed (or re-installed) just the other day when I was trying to deal with this problem (I didn’t check the CUPS version before reinstalling the driver, so I don’t know if this could be relevant).
(I also attempted to print by setting, in Paper Handling, "Scale to fit paper size", with Destination Paper Size set also to the suggested Art A3+ (Margin 35), although I never had to do this in the past, and so I don't suppose it matters. Still, this did not help.)
I had the same problem attempting to print on an A4 art paper, as one is supposed to do, using front loading and the paper size set to Art A4 (Margin 35), with Media Type set to "Fine Art Premium Matte" (it was a matte art paper).  No go; I got error 88.  I was able to print on the same sheet by setting "Matte Photo Paper" (while still using Front Loading), but this is not the media type one should use for such a paper.
In the past few years I have printed 8-bit files, in both AdobeRGB and sRGB, on A4 and A3Plus art papers, in both color and grayscale, always using the art margin settings, without any such difficulties.  Typically I use Color Management by Printer, or “Canon Color Matching” (though I experimented with the use of dedicated paper profiles and Color Management by Photoshop).  Lately I’m trying to print 16-bit files, generally Photoshop PSD or TIFF, with a document profiles of sRGB, AdobeRGB, or ProPhotoRGB.  Of course I tried several times to print from an 8-bit file, and once using Color Management by Photoshop, but got error 88 just the same.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

  • Problem with a data set: DIAdem crashes

    Hi,
I've got a problem with a data set. When I want to zoom in DIAdem-View, DIAdem crashes with the following message (translated from German ;-):
error type: FLOAT INEXACT RESULT or FLOAT INVALID OPERATION or FLOAT STACK CHECK
    error address: 00016CB8
    module name: gfsview.DLL
I've got some similar data set not showing such problems. Further on I scanned the data a bit, but in the 59000 points I didn't see anything special. I did try to delete "NOVALUE"s as well, but after that there still exist "NOVALUE"s.
Does anyone have an idea what to look for?
    Thanks,
    Carsten

    Carsten,
Could you please upload you Citadel database to the following FTP site:
    ftp.ni.com/incoming
If you want to compress (ZIP) and/or put a password on the data, that's fine. Please send me a private email at [email protected] (with the file name and password if you put one on the file) once you have uploaded the file and I will check it out.

  • Can someone help with my video setting?

I have a bunch of small, heavily compressed AVI clips that I want to edit together. But I can't figure out how to export it with the best quality. The dimensions are 640x480, but those dimensions are always different on the exported video- I'm so confused. Here is the data of my video, if someone can help me find the settings that will keep my videos at the same or almost the same quality I would be so grateful!

    Hi,
This link takes you to some info about your file ( pasted below )..and from this link you can probably also find more info as it applies to your needs...maybe.....
Also, Bill Hunt's suggestion and questions seem important ...you could give more info about what you are doing and using ( version premiere) etc etc

Hello!! Hopefully I am posting in the proper section. If not, I will be glad to repost in the proper area. I am hoping that a fellow ModtheSims2 member who has experimented with movie making in the sims 2 and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 could answer my question: I have been toying around with movie-making in the game
I film (or capture)the video clips (or shall I say computer game animations)using the game's best option of a resolution of 640 x 480 at 30 fps with audio at 11025hz 16-Bit mono (compressed). As you are surely aware the game saves the file into AVI format with the VP61 codec. When I open and view the AVI files using Microsoft Windows Media Player, the image is beautiful and crystal clear!!
If I import the AVI file into Windows Movie Maker 2.0, same thing, the image is beautiful and crystal clear!! But here is the problem, when I import the same AVI file into Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, and play the file into the source window, the video is heavily pixelated, in fact very large square pixels...It almost appears like a mossiac over the entire video. I tried turning the frame blending off in Adobe Premiere under 'clip' and then 'video options' but that does not appear to help. All the latest drivers for everything on my PC have been installed. Here are my specs Windows Media Center Edition 2005
    P5W-DH Deluxe ASUS motherboard
    Intel Dual Core 2.4ghz processor
    2 XFX NVidia 7950GT graphic's card (512mb)
4GB Ram (although windows xp only uses about 2.5 to 3ghz of it)
    1 200gb hard drive
    1 500gb hard drive
Audigy 2 Platinum zs sound card Maybe Adobe does not support the VP61 codec, but I have not been able to confirm this anywhere. However I did find an article from the Adobe website about two machinima artists that use Adobe Premiere to make 'Sims 2' videos.
Here is the link to that article: http://www.adobe.com/motion/roosterteeth.html When I record using the game's top setting of 640 x 480 30fps, I am playing the game on a 20" widecreen LCD monitor with the resolution set at 1024 x 768. Might this be the problem? I found a 'cheat' on the internet to change the game's settings in the game's config. file so that it would capture the animations at 1024 x 768, like the resolution for my PC monitor. But once played in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, the clips still have the large square pixel problem... Its like big white and blue squares all over the image... But Maybe since I am using a widescreen monitor I must capture and edit in a true widecreen format like 1280x720 or above??? I dont know. I just find it weird that the AVI files play fine with Windows Movie Maker and Windows Media Player but not with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 Being the amature I am with Adobe, maybe I am doing something wrong. But I did search all the forums and cannot seem to find any info to fix the problem... Maybe I must convert the AVI files before importing them into Adobe, but if it could be avoided that would be cool ... so if you have any info that could help me it would be much appreciated!! Cheers!

I'm afraid I haven't used Adobe Premiere, but have you checked on their site and support forums? I've used TS2 video clips in other movie editing programs in the past, so the format does work - it certainly sounds like Adobe is having issues there. Have you tried different codecs? You may also want to go have a look at sims99.com, a TS2 machinima site, which may have more info.

Thank-you for your reply - I did post this question at the sites you mentionned and suprisingly received many responses from the Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 support forums It would appear the Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 does not like compressed AVI files and it would also appear that Adobe does not like the VP61 codec that the Sims 2 game uses to compress the movie file (AVI). When I capture the Sims 2 movies by setting the options to 'Large' (640 x 480) and 'High' (30fps) - then the clips will not play properly in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 But when I capture the Sims 2 movies by setting the options to 'Large' (640 x 480) and 'High, uncompressed' (30fps) - then the clips play properly in Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 I thought I had tested this originally, but that it was not making a difference. But I must of messed up, because as I say, if I film compressed, the clips have the pixelation problems in Adobe. If I film uncompressed there is no problems with the clips in Adobe. The only downside is that uncompressed clips are very large. (Like 1.5GB for 60 second clip) Cheers!

  • What is the different with the NLS setting in installation

    I mean,
1.when I install the Oracle, set the native LANG to one(call it A), and client access it with the NLS set to another(call it B), what the different between if I install it with B directly? the client can get same result, isn't it?
2.For I upgrade a Oracle7 to oracle8i, the NLS keep unchanged(ASCII), both the server and the Client(developed with developer2000) runs OK. But I need exchange data with another Oracle8, whose NLS is different(ZHKGB2312,I forget it). when I upgraded the server(change to the same one,zhkgb2312), the original table size changed from 6 to 12, so the client can not run correctly.
Did anybody meet the same thing? and any advice for me to solve this problem?

    >>when I install the Oracle, set the native LANG to one(call it A),
You mean your database was created using character set A ?
    >>and client access it with the NLS set to another(call it B)
You mean your client NLS_LANG character set is B ?
what the different between if I install it with B directly? the client can get same result, isn't it?
From reading your 2nd question, I am guessing that you have Chinese data in both of your USA7ASCII and ZHKGB2312 database, and you want to exchange data between them. I am sure that this is working for all your English ASCII data, but not for the Chinese 2 byte data. This is because Oracle handles the character set conversions between the databases (character set conversion occurs only when the 2 character sets are different),the real problem is that you are using the wrong database character set to store your chinese data; US7ASCII can not process Chinese data correctly, they got into your database because you set the client character set to be the same as the database character set, hence you are fooling Oracle that you are feeding in US7ASCII data.
When you try to exchange data between databases, Oracle does not know how to receive or send these Chinese character from inside an US7ASCII database, it does not know what character set these 8 bit characters are encoded in, US7ASCII should contain 128 characters only.
Please refer to the Globalization Support FAQ - on the Globalization Support website http://technet.oracle.com/tech/globalization/content.html
for more information on Database character set and NLS_LANG client character set.

  • Install new Dialog Instance on 64-bit Server with 32-bit database

I need to set up a new Application Server for our current ECC 5.0 32-bit Oracle 9.2.0.7 Non Unicode Database.  The new server is x64-bit and will have Windows 2003 64-bit OS.  I am reading SAP notes 785888 and 814834 and need help understanding how exactly to do this.  The database server is 32-bit Windows 2003 and so is all the other application servers.  Do I use the Oracle 9.2.0 client for 32-bit Oracle and do I use the SAP ECC X64 Install Master in setting up the dialog instance or do I use the 32-bit Install master?  Has anyone done this type of setup before?  Thanks.

    Hi,
all basic information is provide in note 785888.
you want to install dialog install on 64bit windows for 32 bit central instance for that you should consider following.
-> file system is accessible from both host  vice a versa for that you can create one use sapinst on 64 bit host with administrator authorization. and create same user on central instance with administrator authorization and same password.
-> perform dialog instance installation using this user  ( i.e sapinst)
-> if you want to use  dialog instance on 64 bit host with 64 bit kernel, install oracle client 10.2 for 64 bit on 64 bit host of windows. for media information check note 949116.
->use  non unicode kernel because central instance use non unicode kernel.
-> most important 64 bit dialog instance required 64 bit kernel, SAPinst installation screen ABAP System > Instance Directories, where you are asked for the "Location of SAP System Executable", you choose "Yes, locate executables on central instance host", before choosing "Next". The executables for the dialog instance are installed to
    <sapglobalhost>\sapmnt\<sapsid>\SYS\exe\<nuc\uc>\NT<AMD64|IA64|I386>*
so when you want to apply kernel patch you have to uncar the kernel package to this location.
-> maintain the kernel patch level same on both host.

  • Problem with 16 Bit colour in Elements 10

I use Lightroom 4.4 to adjust/convert my camera images (Canon CR2) to TIFF 16 Bit colour  files. In Elements 10 when I try to use some of the tools to adjust these 16 Bit files I get a window stating :- "Could not perform the requested action because Photoshop Elements provides only limited support for files with 16 Bit colour depth. Do you want to convert the image to 8 Bit colour depth." When I convert I can use all the tools.  This is similar to Corel P.S.P. X3 - but in Corel P.S.P. X3 when you have finished adjusting the image and just before you save it -  there is a tool that allows you to convert the image back to 16 Bit colour depth.  Question:- Is there any way you can convert files back to 16 Bit colour depth in Elements 10 before saving.

Converting back to 16 bits gives no advantage, as Barbara said. You don't bring back the information again. It has been said that if you want to apply heavy edits afterwards, starting with 16 bits should 'theoretically' yield better results... I have tried to show a difference, but I have been unable to provide conclusive practical examples, even with drastic edits.
Note that it is easy to convert an 8 bits jpeg or tiff to 16 bits in Elements via the ACR raw conversion module. Open your 8 bits file in ACR, set the  menu to 16 bits (in the middle of the bottom bar) and click 'open' to get it in the editor. From there you can edit in 16 bits and save as tiff or psd if you want.
To open a jpeg or tiff in ACR , use the menu 'open as' and select the 3rd option 'raw...'

  • Performance problems with multicam sync sets

I'm working on editing a concert video where we have up to 8 cameras.  The whole concert is in one big multicam sync set (imported from PluralEyes).
And my computer just isn't hacking it.  Intel core 2 quad 2.67GHz, 16GB ram, Windows 7 64-bit, and I just added a pair of 7200RPM local data disks in a striped configuration for performance.  Graphics card is an Nvidia GT 630.   This is well past the recommended hardware, but of course the processor and motherboard are a bit old.  (Oh, and OS disk is a 256GB SSD, and there's an 80GB SSD for scratch and stuff; the source files for the concert exceed 500GB hence can't be on those.)
When I open the multicam set in the source viewer, it takes more than 30 seconds to come up with the set of camera views.  And when I click on another spot in the playback line, it takes forever or longer (i.e. it never does) to come up with the new set of views.  moving a frame left or right sometimes works, and sometimes doesn't.
Watching the resource monitor while this is going on, I can't tell what's really going on.  It hasn't consumed nearly all the memory, and disk traffic isn't extreme (and goes to zero in the case where it never does display the right view).
I first thought the problem was editing from an external USB3 disk, hence the upgrade with the local striped pair of real disks; but that made only a marginal improvement.  I've checked graphics driver version, and that's current.  Premiere says it's using CUDA.
And I don't have any real option of spending another $500 to upgrade things right now.
Wondering -- is the total length of the multicam set possibly an issue?  It seems like Premiere would really only deal with parts close to where the playback head was, and the total length wouldn't be a big deal.  I suspect the *width* is the problem, because narrower sets have been less trouble.  That's harder to try to fix right now unfortunately :-( .
I did also try this on my laptop -- i7 processor, 8GB, but not separate graphics (Intel 3000 I think, no CUDA).  Had to use the external USB 3 drive there (internal drive is small SSD).  Ended up behaving essentially the same as the desktop, no better no worse.   So *just* upgrading the disks isn't the answer based on the desktop trial, and *just* upgrading the processor isn't the answer based on the laptop trial.  Is there a clear answer?

I just ran a test with a 8x multicam AVCHD project (1920x1080x29.97) in your behalf. Here's how I set in up, and here's what I measured during an un-rendered (real time) playback:
On my 8-core cpu, loading was about 46% (indicates with a FAST 4-core CPU, you might just be OK
I limited Adobe CC 2014 to only use 12GB of RAM (approximating the performance with your 16GB system)
    GPU was pretty much idle
Disk reads ~ 23 MB/s; disk writes ~1.5 MB/s (not too much disk activity here really, your SSDs sound fine)
Playback was perfect with zero lost frames (playback resolution = full); scrubbing was usable, but somewhat sluggish (at full playback resolution and limited to 12GB of RAM); When I bumped RAM available to Premiere up to 32GB, scrubbing was perfect (snappy) even with playback resolution set to full
Bottom line, you may actually be able to do a sub-$500 upgrade that would really help your current system. What motherboard do you have now?

  • Can I run Logic 9 with 32 bit support alongside Logic X on the same Mavericks computer?

    Hello friends,
I am upgrading from Snow Leopard and Logic 8 to Mavericks and Logic X.  It's my understanding that Logic 8 doesn't play nice with Mavericks, but I heard that the latest version of Logic 9 does.  I never used Logic 9 before, but it is my understanding that you could run Logic 9 in 32-bit mode and it should be compatible with all Logic 8 projects.  Is this true on Mavericks?  I am on the verge of setting up multiple partitions, one for Logic 8 on 10.6 and the other for Logic X on 10.9, but if I could launch logic 9 with 32 bit support on mavericks when I needed access to my 32 bit reliant projects, that would certainly be better!
Would both versions of Logic work on the same system together in the way that as I hope?  Obviously, I wouldn't need them both open at the same time, but I didn't know if one would work correctly after installing the other, etc.
Thanks very much!  Upgrading can be a hassle with consideration to legacy projects!   This would just be one step for me; it's a whole other question as to whether or not I could get the fxpansion vst wrapper working in Logic 9 on mavericks (surprisingly, it seemed to work with Logic 8 on mavericks, but the black curtain of Logic 8 almost makes it unusable).
    Thanks very much!

Thanks everyone!   I was afraid that I was going to have as much trouble as I did migrating from Logic 4 to Logic 7 (yeesh, what a mess that was).
Blueberry, are you warning about literally running both Logic 8 and Logic X simultaneously?   Because I don't imagine I would do that.  Could their be adverse consequences of merely having both installed?
It is my hope that I can gracefully migrate away from Logic 8/9 altogether, but the OCD in me needs to have adequate access to legacy projects in a pinch.
    Thanks again!

Hi Rob, Thanks for your input. The temp location is on the C drive with 228 GB free space. My other drives have 123 GB and 204 GB of free space. I can see how the 32 bit set up is perfectly extracted when it stops when coming to the 64 bit set up. I have done the exercise several times and also made new downloads. I am using Norton 360 and Malwarebytes anti-malware but the dowload from Adobe should be trusted.

  • Exporting from PPro CC - Exporting using Match Sequence Settings issue with 24 bit audio

I am having an issue exporting my sequence which contains final AIFF mix (24 bit 48 kHz) into a 'same-as-source' ProRes 422 file with 24 bit audio. I am specifically trying to export media with 'Match Sequence Settings' checked to create an identical output of what my sequence is. I wind up only creating a PR422 with 16 bit audio rather than 24 bit audio.
My sequence contains ProRes 422 media and 24 bit AIFF final stereo mix (1 audio file) from our Sound department.
My sequence is currently setup as "Custom" at 1920x1080, 23.976 fps, Square Pixels, Progressive, etc. Audio is 48 kHz (I don't see an option for choosing different bit rates in the 'Sequence Settings').
Using 'Match Sequence Settings', my options to alter the audio are "greyed out" and unavailable. I'm not sure why 'Match Sequence Settings' doesn't recognize that I am cutting with 24 bit audio and, instead, only exports 16 bit audio.

Always skip Match Sequence Settings and set up the export manually.
