OSS note containing fixes for ITS 6.20 patch 19
What is the OSS note that tells of the fixes for patch 19?
Thanks,
Jin Bae
Hello John,
Note 491781 is currently being translated from German to English and should be available in English shortly. If you have a specific note you are looking for then you could also check that note to see if it has been updated with the corrected patch number for ITS.

OSS Note 386896 (Substitution for call-up point 3) implementation in ECC 6
Hello Everyone,
We had implemented OSS Note 386896 (Substitution for call-up point 3 ('Complete document')) in our SAP system (Release 470).
Now weu2019ve upgraded to ECC 6 and are looking for an alternate solution as OSS 386896 is not valid in ECC 6.
Suggestions on any solution would be highly appreciated.
Warm Regards,
Sushil.Hi,
Please do the below.
Check the SAP Service market website and search for the OSS note, check the validity for the OSS note, if it is being already applied as a support pack or not,
Check if the release of the OSS note is valid for your ECC 6. If not then Raise a message with SAP and ask if there is any alternative note for this in the new release. SAP will respond to the query or can extend the validity of the note.

OSS note 550071 - price for catalog product
Hello All,
the sub OSS note says
If a valid source is assigned to the shopping basket item (for example, an info record or a contract), the price is transferred to the purchase order from the source of supply<b> - unless, the item is created via a catalog and it contains the catalog price.</b>
we require that the ECC cotract price should be picked up while classic PO creation , even though the product is picked up from catalog (which has contract no in the product characteristics).
Now only in one test case we observed that system behaved in our desired way and contradictory to the note.
Does anyone know about any control on this behaviour?
we could not find any.
(we have not implemented BBP_APPEND_ITEM)
BR
DineshHi
Which SRM version are you using ? What you observed in your test-case ?
<b>Anyways, You can do this easily using any of the BADIs</b>
- BBP_DOC_CHANGE_BADI
- BBP_SOS_BADI
P.S. : Read the relevant standard SAP documenatation in SE18 Transaction.
Do let me know.

The problems associated with Adobe's distributed 8.2.4 update - the update that BROKE Acrobat - are not fixed, even tho other threads say that the problem is "answered."
After the Adobe update caused a "lockout" from using Acrobat Pro 8, and giving the user a message to "start another CS application" (or words to that effect).
Adobe's answer is to reinstall Acrobat from the distribution disks, and then to go to HELP> Update in order to iterate updates to the current rev.
Many of us have found it impossible to update to "current level" after re-installing 8.0.0 from the distribution disk for CS3. My error message is:
Adobe Acrobat 8.1.3 Update failed to install
What is the remedy for THAT?!?!?!I cheated.
I have an old G5 with an stale (unupdated) copy of Acrobat 8 on it. I updated it from 8.1.4 to 8.1.6 and then it did a GIANT update all the way to 8.2.4.
I was excited - I thought that Adobe had posted a cumulative update.
So I went back to my MBP, and tried it ... and it insisted on doing 8.1.6 and failing ...
So I COPIED the apps from the G5
And it even fooled UPDATER.
Maybe this is not a permanent solution, but it seems to be behaving properly.
Pity the poor user who does not have a second computer or Time Machine (backing up apps).
Adobe is still on the hook. -
Exchange Backup does not contain contacts for 2 users, Recovery Database.
Hello all and thank you for your input.
Scenario: SBS2011 with 8 users. 4 users are remote and use only OWA. The motherboard went bad. SBS2011 was reloaded from scratch and a new domain was created. I backed up all PSTs with an Outlook Export prior to the board replacement
and new domain. Most users are fine, but 2 are missing contacts. One user has a few contacts, the other has one contact, a previous employee and user.
Kicker: I know what you're thinking.... The contacts weren't selected in the PST Export or something like that. Nope. restored the latest backup of Exchange prior to the Mobo failure to a folder on the D: drive. Using the
EMS I ran a repair on the old database to put it into a clean shutdown state, then created a restore database and mounted it in Exchange. I restored both mailboxes to a dummy users. The contacts are the SAME as what the users see.
Where could the contacts be? Again, both of these users were using OWA Only.
Any assistance or criticism is welcome :)
- JoshIf PST doesn't have contacts and I assume you selected the contact to export it than that means user didn't saved contact in there mailbox but on the local machine.
When you run the /P on database and if you have corruption in database/Mailbox than you will lose the data.
As far as backup goes, if the contacts are present in the mailbox than you will have it after successful restore, which you had.
As per your scenario I highly doubt that those users saved there contact in the mailbox.

Fix for Samsung Monitor not working after 10.6 install
This quick fix solution worked for me. Hope it works for you:
I have an 15inch MacBook Pro that I've just installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 on.
Prior to this install, I've had it hooked up to my Samsung SyncMaster 2243 via an Apple MDP/VGA adapter and a third party VGA cable. It has been flashing on and off a black screen every now and then for the past 2 years and I googled that it was just a crappy communication between the MBP and the Samsung... but now since installing 10.6.3, the Samsung display just flashes the desktop for a second then turns black for good - occationally flashing analogue/digtal prompt display. Tried everything for hours. Nothing worked, thought I was gonna have to buy a new all Apple VGA lead then came across this solution. Tried it and it worked IMMEDIATLY!!! And the monitor doesn't flash black anymore AT ALL!
WHAT TO DO TO FIX:
Go to => System Preferences => Energy Saver => change graphic settings to Higher Performace.
Cheers!!I figured it out. NVIDIA has an update specifically for 10.6.8 and several of their video GPU's. go HERE to download the driver. It also took away the slow response and flicker I was experiencing.
Here is the update info:
CUDA Application Support:
In order to run Mac OS X Applications that leverage the CUDA architecture of the Quadro 4000 for Mac product, users will need to download and install the CUDA 4.x driver for Mac located here.
New in Release 256.02.25f01:
This driver update is required if upgrading to the latest Mac OS X v10.6.8.
Contains performance improvements for a wide range of applications
Contains fixes for several corruption and crash bugs, including issues with Autodesk Mudbox, and World of Warcraft.
Contains support for display rotation.
Adds Driver Archive/Restore Functionality. -

Can u send oss notes 192658...
hi friends, can any one post the OSS Notes 192658, for basic (parameters)setting for bw.
thanks in advanceSummary
Symptom
You want to set the Business Warehouse System (BW) basis parameters. The BW basis parameters must be set optimally for the BW system to work without errors and the system to perform efficiently. The recommendations for BW systems are not always the same as those for R/3 systems.
Other terms
Memory Management, EarlyWatch, GoingLive, Release 1.2B, Release 2.0A,
Release 2.0B, Release 2.1C, Release 3.0A, Release 3.0B, Release 3.1
Release 3.5
Reason and Prerequisites
The recommendations for BW systems are not always the same as those for R/3 systems. This note describes the differences between the parameter settings of a BW system and an R/3 system. Therefore, this note supplements Note 103747 for BW systems (Performance 4.0/4.5/4.6: Parameter recommendations). As with the recommendations in Note 103747, the recommendations here are intended as initial settings before you start using the system productively. After you start using the system productively, you must adjust individual parameters as required and adapt them to the actual requirements.
Number and type of work processes
This note does not contain any recommendations about the number and type of work processes. You can receive work processes tailored for your system from the recommended remote services. However, if you have not received any recommendations from the GoingLive services, you have to set up a minimum of six dialog work processes and three batch work processes.
This note is valid only for BW 1.2B, BW 2.0A, BW 2.0B,
BW 2.1C, BW 3.0A, BW 3.0B and BW 3.1, BW 3.5.
For NetWeaver 2004s or BI 7.0, see Note 1044441.
Solution
Support by Support Services *
To ensure that the system performs efficiently after you start using it productively, we recommend you use the support services, for example, the GoingLive check for BW systems or an EarlyWatch contract for BW systems. With a GoingLive check for BW systems, you should schedule two sessions for 4-6 weeks before you start using the system productively and one session 4-6 weeks after you have started using the system productively.
TO AVOID LONG WAITING TIMES FOR A SERVICE SESSION APPOINTMENT, BOOK IN SUFFICIENT TIME BEFORE YOU START USING THE SYSTEM PRODUCTIVELY. TO DO THIS, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL SUPPORT.
This note supplements Note 103747 (Performance 4.0/4.5/4.6: Parameter recommendations) for BW systems. It describes the different parameter settings of a BW system and an R/3 system.
Recommendations given in Note 103747 for R/3 systems that are different for BW systems:
1a. Export/import buffer
BW 1.2B:
This buffer is frequently used in BW systems so the export/import buffer must be set to at least 10 MB. If you work with large hierarchies, you have have to increase the size of this buffer considerably. You should be able to store at least 5,000 objects in the buffer.
rsdb/obj/buffersize 10000 or higher (10 MB)
rsdb/obj/max_objects 5000 or higher (entries)
rsdb/obj/large_object_size 10000 (10 MB)
BW 2.X: The buffer should be set to the size recommended for R/3 4.6 systems (see Note 103747).
BW 3.X: The buffer should be set to a larger size than the buffer for BW 2.X.
rsdb/obj/buffersize 40000 or higher (40 MB)
1b. Export/import buffer SHM
BW 3.X ONLY (OLAP cache):
Parameter name Value Description
rsdb/esm/buffersize_kb 40000 or higher Size of exp/imp SHM buffer (kB)
rsdb/esm/max_objects 10000 Maximum number of objects in buffer
2. Program buffer (abap/buffersize)
Depending on the size of the main memory, the program buffer should be between 200 and 400 MB. Unlike in R/3 Systems, a higher number of program buffer swaps is less important in BW Systems and is often unavoidable since the information stored in the program buffer is significantly less likely to be reused. While the response times of R/3 transactions is only around several hundred milliseconds, the response times of BW queries takes seconds. However, by tuning the program buffer, you can only improve the performance by milliseconds.
Therefore, if the available main memory is limited, you should increase the size of the extended memory. However, the program buffer should not be set lower than 200 MB. If the available main memory is sufficient, the program buffer in BW 2.X/3.X systems should be set to at least 300 MB.
3. Extended Memory
BW users require significantly more extended memory than R/3 users. The size of the extended memory is related to the available main memory but should not be lower than 512 MB.
4. Single Record buffer
BW 2.X & 3.X: The buffer should be set to the size recommended for R/3 4.6 systems (see Note 103747).
Limits for BW 2.X:
See Note 414220 for information about setting the parameter rtbb/max_tables, rtbb/buffer_length.
You must not exceed certain limits.
Limits for BW 3.X:
See Note 480710.
5. Recommendations for the 64-bit R/3 kernel
In addition to the recommendations from Note 146289, set the following parameter specifically for BW:
em/blocksize_KB 4096
6. Maximum runtime for a work process
Set a higher runtime than is usual for R/3 systems:
rdisp/max_wprun_time 3600
7. Connection to the front end
To avoid connection terminations, set the gw/cpic_timeout parameter to a sufficiently large value:
gw/cpic_timeout 60
8. Further CPIC/RFC settings
gw/max_conn 2000
gw/max_overflow_size 25000000
rdisp/max_comm_entries 2000
Because of the high RFC load, see the recommendataions from Note 74141.
9. Oracle Database Interface
Set the parameter dbs/ora/array_buf_size to a sufficiently large size to keep the number of array inserts, for example, when you upload data or during the rollup, as low as possible. This improves the performance during insert operations. Depending on the size of the available main memory, set the parameter dbs/ora/array_buf_size to a value of 1000000 (1MB).
dbs/ora/array_buf_size 1000000
10. Internet Communication Manager (ICM) Parameter
icm/host_name_full <fully qualified name>
You use this parameter to specify
the fully qualified host name of the
of the host on which the ICM is
running. If this parameter is
not set, the system queries the
system for the host name.
With several host names, this
parameter can override this value.
SAPLOCALHOSTFULL <fully qualified name>
General timeouts:
icm/keep_alive_timeout 3600
This parameter refers to the
"keep-alive-feature" of HTTP1.1
rdisp/plugin_auto_logout 3600
The user context is closed only after
this time interval
Kernel Release 6.20
icm/server_port_: PROT=<xxxx>,PORT=<xxxx>,TIMEOUT=3600
Defines keep_alive_timeout per port
binding
Kernel Release 6.40ff
icm/server_port_: PROT=<xxxx>,PORT=<xxxx>,TIMEOUT=60, PROCTIMEOUT=3600
icm/keep_alive_timeout = 60
Further information:
Note 622629: Procedure when timeouts occur in BW Web Reporting
Note 622130: Timeout problems in BW Web Applications
Note 538405: Composite SAP Note on the SAP Web Dispatcher
11. Notes for configuring the databases
BW and R/3 Systems can differ significantly in terms of the configuration of the database.
The following notes contain recommendations for setting the database in a BW system:
0632556 Oracle 9.2.0.* databaseparameterization for BW
0632427 Oracle 8.1.7* database parameterization forBW

12. Essentials for parameter settings
- Save your old profile before you make any changes. If the instance does not start with the new parameters, you can use the old profile.
- Check all parameter settings before you use them (program sappfpar, in the test system, and so on).
- Take into account limitations due to the architecture of the operating system (for example, shared memory limitations). Errors and terminations may occur if you do not take these limitations into account.
Bear in mind that concrete recommendations for parameter settings using TTC can only be given during a session service. ***********************************************************************
WARNING:
If the settings in the R/3 memory areas (R/3 buffer, R/3 extended memory and so on) are too small, unnecessary performance problems can occur. If the settings are too large, errors can occur when you start the R/3 instance or runtime errors can occur. The optimal settings depend on the hardware (CPU and RAM), the R/3 release and the operating system release.
The Solution Support remote services GoingLive and EarlyWatch provide recommendations tailored to your system.

Repos - logical table source does not contain mapping
Hi,
I have a repository question?
I do not have a fact table in my physical layer. Do I have to have one? I thought the fact table got created in the BM.
I do have a date table in the physical layer, but it isn't joined to any other table.
I added the PK from the date_dimention to my logical fact table.
when I open the properities of my logical date table it is mapped to the physical date table.
Now in answers, I can query the date_dimension without error.
But, when I query the fact table using the date key, I get this error.
Error Details
Error Codes: OPR4ONWY:U9IM8TAC:OI2DL65P
State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A general error has occurred. [nQSError: 15018] Incorrectly defined logical table source (for fact table CRTK_FACTS) does not contain mapping for [CRTK_FACTS.MASTER_AI_ID, CRTK_FACTS.INT_DOC_ID, CRTK_FACTS.DATE_KEY]. (HY000)
SQL Issued: SELECT CRTK_FACTS.MASTER_AI_ID saw_0, CRTK_FACTS.INT_DOC_ID saw_1, CRTK_FACTS.DATE_KEY saw_2 FROM CRTK ORDER BY saw_0, saw_1, saw_2
Anyone have any suggestions on what I am missing?
thanks,
KathyI don't have a fact table in the physical layer. Do you mean join between the date table and other dimension tables?
or do I have to build the fact table in the physical layer?
I have not built any hierarchies yet, working on it. -
Hide Dimension Hierarchy if levels do not contain any data
I have a hierarchy in a dimension that does not contain data for specific roles. For example dimension Dim1 has a hierarchy H1 with levels aaa and bbb. When each level in H1 does not have data, and the data is unknown, I do not want the user
to be able to select H1 in the browser.
Does anyone know how I can hide the hierarchy based on what data is in the hierarchy?
Thanks,
SteveHi Steve,
In SQL Server Analysis Services, we can hide or disable hierarchy level by using
AttributeHierarchyEnabled property, however, when this property is set to false, this level will not appear no matter if contain data or not. In your scenario, you want to hide the hierarchy level dynamically, right? As Aleksandr
said, I am afraid there is no such a method to achieve it.
If you have any concern about this behavior, you can submit a feedback at
http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is resolved in the next release of service pack or product. Your feedback enables Microsoft to make software and services the best that they can be, Microsoft might consider to add this feature
in the following release after official confirmation.

Log Message:
First pass of bug fixes for the Spark skins for Halo components.
Bugs:
SDK-19963 - themeColor should not affect rollOverColor or selectionColor in flex 4
SDK-19654 - Spark skin for the Halo ComboBox dropdown needs a drop shadow
SDK-19637 - Halo HScrollBar/VScrollBar controls dont render correctly when specifying includeIn states
SDK-19634 - Halo ProgressBar default size is very different when using Halo vs Gumbo theme
SDK-19626 - Flicker when toggling enabled property on Halo TabBar control with Gumbo skin
SDK-19556 - selected Halo CheckBox and RadioButton icons briefly flicker when you roll over them
SDK-19658 - Halo ComboBox with Gumbo skin has an odd flicker
Doc/QA Notes: The fix for SDK-19963 includes a compatibility-version check. When compatibility-version < 4, setting themeColor implicitly sets rollOverColor and selectionColor, if they have not been set. When compatibility-version >= 4, you must explicitly set rollOverColor and selectionColor, even when using the Halo theme.
